There was a twist mid way through that I saw coming, but it made the story really interesting and so I rolled really easily with it.

Hunter and Kyle are both completely in love, and this shines through in Mr Michael’s writing so clearly. There is real emotion and chemistry between them. Sure, they might have been together long enough that things have become routine, but kink and Hunter’s curiosity very quickly sets the flames burning hotly once again. I love how they’re both re-discovering each other, but still very deeply in love.

I found this to be an amazing story, full of sensual scenes and hotly written kink. Both Hunter and Kyle grow and learn as characters and their relationship flourishes accordingly. This is yet another wonderful story by Mr. Michael and he’s now an auto-read for me. Hot and romantic, this is an excellent read and one I’m really pleased to add onto my bookshelf.

Ryan Pierce is a bit of a stereotype, unfortunately. He’s a closeted gay movie star who sees nothing but doom and destruction should his secret ever be found out. Once you get past that, he’s a great guy who means well, even if he screws it all up now and then. The poor guy is out of practice when it comes to attracting men, after all. Dar and Ryan are a good match because they balance each other out. Where Ryan is the eccentric movie star, Dar is more humble.

I really enjoyed the concept of this story. That two people could make such a connection over the phone without ever meeting is beyond romantic (even if a bit unbelievable in this day and age) and you really want to root for them. They’re both utterly adorable when talking to each other that I couldn’t stop smiling. But the giant misunderstanding that nearly destroys them put me off a bit. I know that relationships have their misunderstandings, especially in the beginning, but for there to be such a huge one so early on was a shock. That said, Wrong Number, Right Guy, is a sweet, steamy and sexy novel that leaves you wanting to know more about Dar and Ryan and where they’re going from here.

The animal portrayals were fun and exciting; effortless to read.

What did leave something to be desired was the characterization. While Aleksi, the tiger shifter, and Kale, the male model, had rather well fleshed out personalities, most all of their interactions involved a sensual tension or outright sexual element. Beyond that they simply didn’t seem very well suited for one another, as much of their dialogue was sensual teasing. But that impression was completely subjective, so your opinion is the only one that matters.

What I like about S.A. Welsh’s books are the suspenseful elements. Here they shine. What I dislike about her stories is her tendency to write full stories—but… all too often they end in annoying cliffhangers. This story is no different: The epilogue describes the beginning of a whole new story, which may or may not come in the future. So if you wish to avoid feeling as frustrated as I did, avoid reading the epilogue until you know for a fact that story will come out.

All in all, S.A. Welsh writes paranormal and suspense quite well. The writing is fast-paced and the narrative tight and compact. The story flows smoothly from start to finish. Recommended read.

I really loved this book. Trey is an intricately complex character who really grabbed my imagination. Born blind, Trey has closed himself off to much of the world. His life is writing and the carefully controlled environment of his home. His parents hurt him emotionally when he came out of the closet – saying that Trey just wanted a man to live with him, to depend on. That comment has scarred him far more than Trey really knows. It’s had him close his heart off, and I feel it’s a big part of his unwillingness to share his whole life with Lucien, how their “only after a book is finished” relationship began. While his actions are logical, I really empathized with the fear Trey felt deep in his soul. Change is hard when you’ve made such a comfortable, routine life. They both start to make small changes, standing Friday night dates, swimming on Saturdays, small steps. And Lucien is the epitome of patience.

Their first big adventure out of the house was one I really enjoyed. Nothing huge or life-altering, just the simple pleasure of going to the local lake, making sandcastles and enjoying the sunshine together. It was a big step forward for both men and was a delight to read. And that was thankfully the first of many outings. I loved seeing this well-defined couple, who had been together for around ten years, deepen and explore their relationship, taking it to a new level. Trey and Lucien are clearly deeply in love, solidly committed only to each other, and yet there’s still so very much for them to do – Trey’s independence issues and Lucien’s wanting to be involved as more than just a part-time person in Trey’s life. Watching these men begin a new phase in their life together was amazing and I found it just wonderful to read the two men learn more about each other and open their hearts even further.

There is tons of fantastic sex, kink and naughty butt-plug play. I’d be amazed if anyone could read it through and not need a big glass of cold water to help cool down. Yet there’s such depth of emotion, such love and trust between these two men. It’s a brilliant thing to read and get swept away with. I loved this book and would strongly recommend it to others. As Ms. Cartwright builds the relationship between the characters she also develops Grant’s and Aria’s jobs. The characters stop feeling like obsessive workers and become people with a common goal both in and out of the bedroom. Their relationship is not only based on their sexual attraction but also on their brilliant minds.

However, even though I warmed up to both Grant and Aria, for some reason, I have to admit that these are the characters which have caused the least impact on me out of all of Cartwright’s novels.

The sex, as in all of Ms. Cartwright’s novels is well written, hot and never boring. (The author demonstrates well that BDSM is much more than kneeling, spanking, cuffs and flogging).

One line that will forever stay with me is when Aria asks: How would you introduce someone to your BDSM world?” And Grant answers:“I already have.”

Their relationship has quite a lot of angst that goes along with trust issues having to do with a big reveal that perhaps brought a new direction for the series. They had to learn to accept new possibilities. I felt that Alex and Angel were engaging characters and complimented each other perfectly. They also had good chemistry for the sexy love scenes. So although this is a rather short story the author managed to keep things exciting with plenty of action, suspense, and a steamy love story.

The writing here was very good. The story flowed really well even if you’re new to the series. However, considering that the author makes reference to some events from previous books, then I would recommend reading at least the preceding book in The Were Chronicles Series. Also, I liked that how many intriguing possibilities were opened up with this story. It had several new characters that I would like to read about.

I enjoyed reading this book!

And slowly the men realise that the chemistry they both felt upon first shaking hands could lead to something far deeper and more fulfilling than either ever hoped to find.

I have to be honest, I’m a bit of a Sean Michael fangirl. I’ve read a number of the books and basically liked them all. It’s got to the stage whenever I come across any of Sean Michael’s work I snap it up quickly. This book was no exception. If you enjoy the story-telling voice, you’ll love this book too, I feel sure. But onto nitty gritty details. I really enjoyed how Temple was nothing like your usual style of hero. A vegan biker who has beaten cancer. I never would have expected to write that as a description of a hero I really enjoyed. And yet it works, totally. Luke is a well-pierced man and gets caught up in Temple’s brand of charming crazy. And I found myself totally swept away by them both together.

I just loved watching them come together, even with Luke being understandably hesitant at first with how quickly it was all happening. But Temple is completely irresistible. And with lines like “I like being your unusual” – how could one not get caught up in the moment? There’s plenty of talk and description about piercings (multiple regular ones – ears, face, nipples, and a number of more intimate ones too), so if this will bother you then I’d suggest reading something else. But I found the scenes were tenderly and tastefully written and while I don’t have a fetish about piercings, I found myself really enjoying the full scope of the erotic scenes and not at all bothered by the various pieces of body art.

This book is full of emotion. Temple has his own brand of baggage, and while completely positive and whimsical in his outlook on life, his scrape with cancer has changed him – for the better. Luke also has his own history and problems to overcome. A terrible end to a relationship ten years ago has also changed him. Together the men not only come together, but become what they each need to find. While sensual and incredibly erotic, this is mostly an emotional, romantic, sexy tale that I eagerly devoured. A wonderful story I can strongly recommend to everyone and one I can’t wait to reread as soon as possible.

Although Reece is a bit intimidated by the whole idea, having Cade by his side for it all makes it both manageable and worth his while, which I found to be both sweet and a bit sappy. I got quite a laugh over the two women the boys meet at the beginning that went from wanting to hook up to becoming their biggest fan girls. Part five is our resolution, wherein all the filming is done and the boys are left to themselves. I felt really sad for Reece at first when his insecurities started to surface. Although I was certain they’d get their get their happy ending, I felt as unsure as he did. The little added twist at the end with the movie made me grin, it was an obvious but still enjoyable way to end their story.

Both Reece and Cade have come a long way during the course of the serial. I loved watching Reece become more sure of himself. Sitting back and observing as they took this insane idea of filming an adult film and turning it into an opportunity to find real love was quite a treat. I would highly recommend this serial to anyone who loves a good old fashioned love story with a not so traditional setting. Besides, most of it takes place in Vegas, baby. Odds are you might just fall in love with it too. I know I certainly did.

Nick is a gorgeous little sub and Whip is the perfect top for him. I greatly enjoyed their interactions from the very start. It was clear from their first meeting Whip was kind and considerate, the way he paid attention to Nick’s body language, the protectiveness Whip showed immediately. While submissive, I loved how Nick still had his pride. It was a pleasure to see them grow fond of each other and come together. Nick and Whip are both strongly written characters and I was drawn into their story immediately.

The Biker Carnival was also a great backdrop. Having never been to one personally, I loved the feeling of being immersed into the party atmosphere and it was a pleasure to read about it, and the antics Whip and Nick got up to during their weekend. There’s a bit of kink in one of the scenes that I found really hot and tastefully written. I found myself cheering along for both Whip and Nick, and even intrigued by Trig — Whip’s best friend and a strong secondary character.

A great, fast read with plenty of smoking hot sex and enough romantic sensitivity to have me sighing with pleasure. An excellent book and one I will happily reread many times to come.

To be honest, I’m not much of a fan of time traveling novels, but Pyramids of Passion is something totally different. To begin with, it’s very well written. Ms. Lovett drew me into her story and kept me there with her vivid descriptions.

Even though there is a hot romance (or is that two?), at times I felt that the story was more about the main character herself, Rosie Carter, and her evolution as a woman, than a love tale. Furthermore, at one point in the novel, I couldn’t help wonder why Rosie didn’t research Edifu’s past and cast her doubts aside. However, with that said, Rosie is an endearing character and I was rooting for her from the start.

Her male counterparts are equally engaging. They’re not only attractive, or mannequins to serve a purpose. They felt like real people.

Pyramids of Passion is a hot, sensual read with a happy for now ending. I will certainly be looking for future stories from Ms. Lovett.
