In “Frayed” by Alexandra Vaughn, Esther Goodwin’s first encounter with another girl ends almost as soon as it begins and it is several years before she allows herself to believe in love again. In “12,000 Hour Day” by Vrai Kaiser, Devon couldn’t be happier about the thought of being married to Sarah — it’s the planning she’s not sure she’ll survive! In “Her Dream Day”, by J. Chase, it’s the day before Alex and Sophia’s wedding, when the venue cancels, ruining their plans.

Weddings are public declarations of private commitments. There was a time when not every couple was able to take advantage of this in the United States, but times are slowly changing.

By far the best premise belonged to “Frayed.” It’s difficult to discuss it in detail without giving away spoilers, but I was engrossed in what it was like for Esther to live in a small, isolated town at a point when women like her weren’t accepted by society in the least. The writing was so crisp and clear that I wished this could have been a novella instead of a short story. At times it felt like I was stepping into someone else’s memories instead of reading a piece of fiction.

“Her Dream Day” caught my interest right away. Planning a wedding often involves a crisis or two. I was curious to see how Alex and Sophia would deal with what fate had in store for them. The hitch in their plans turned out to be something I found hard to believe. It isn’t something I’ve ever heard of happening before, and it seemed a little far-fetched for the subject matter of this collection.

At first I wondered what was going on with Devon and Sarah in “12,000 Hour Day.” There was so much conflict in their relationship in the beginning that I wondered how it could all be wrapped up in such a short amount of time. The author had a few tricks up her sleeve that I didn’t see coming, though, and I ended up quite satisfied with how everything was addressed.

I’d recommend They Do F/F Anthology to anyone in the market for erotica that is heavily character-driven.

The lonely prince wants nothing more than someone to love and live with forever. The frog, however, is not what the prince had in mind. Then again, this is no ordinary frog, and this, too, is no ordinary tale. Though a promise is a promise, and so the prince must find out why the two seem destined for one another, despite his misgivings.

True love’s kiss can come in unexpected places. Prince Harold is lonely and horny, a bad combination. He’s tired of having any man he wants for sex but none who will actually date him. As the second son of the king, everyone wants a chance at marrying his older brother and not him. After losing his golden cock-ring in the water, a considerate frog offers to retrieve the ring if Harold will love the frog and let the frog live with him. Harold hastily agrees but when he tries to renege on his promise, the frog is stubborn.

The Prince and the Frog is recently re-released very short story that is also available in the Torqued Tales M/M Anthology from 2007. Fans of reworked fairy tales may enjoy this take on a horny prince and his true love in the guise of a frog. It’s only a few pages and the writing has a lot of fun with Harold’s perpetual masturbation. For example the frog sings the same chorus every night to get the prince to open the door and let him in:

“Open the door, my prince so fair. Open the door, your true love is here. Mind the promise that you have made. Mind what you said as your stiffness did fade.”

The writing is fun and entertaining. It’s not a serious re-telling but instead focuses on the sex aspect of the fairy tale and Harold as a prince that can’t stop jacking off. Of course eventually the prince understands that the frog could be his true love but it’s an amusing short ride to that end. The concept is fun and heavily erotic but with a lot of wit and charm. It’s likely to be a good fit for readers that prefer a lot of erotica with a dash of romance and enjoy fairy tale retellings.

Dr. Mason Beaulieu thinks rival ghost hunter Haywood “Fort” Fortenberry is sexy but too credulous when it comes to the paranormal. Fort thinks Mason is attractive but too cynical. When they’re offered a chance to be locked up in reputedly haunted Wisteria Grove on Halloween night, however, both men jump at the chance.

Storms and mysterious sounds keep them busy during the night, and they discover a mutual respect for each other’s skills. As the investigation continues, Fort learns the truth behind Mason’s seemingly dismissive attitude, and Mason finds a new appreciation for Fort’s open-mindedness. But when an unexpected intruder derails the investigation, they learn that more than just hunting ghosts can offer them thrills and chills.

What do you get when you take a believer in the paranormal, mix him with a skeptic, and lock them in a supposedly haunted hotel overnight? Complete and utter chaos. Oh, and some pretty serious personal revelations.
But, a lot of men suffering from this disease cialis 20mg tablets do not open the problem in front of anyone. The effect remains 4 to 6 hours that is the normal time of copulation that you get after taking the known price tadalafil tablets . When you are intimately turned on the compartments remain start and the quit gateways near. levitra buy generic It order viagra australia improves the functioning of your brain.
Mason Beaulieu believes that there might possibly be something out there that he can’t explain, however, he also believes that if there is a logical, scientific answer to the supposed paranormal, it’s his job to point it out. While this makes him a bit of a stick in the mud, it also makes him come across as reliable, educated, and serious about what he does. I liked Mason a lot, especially his sense of humor and take no prisoners attitude. The truth is important to him and he refuses to sacrifice it for anything, no matter how tempted he might be to do otherwise.

Haywood Fortenberry, fondly known simply as Fort, is quite the opposite. Fort passionately believes in the paranormal and seeks it out. He is definitely more open minded than Mason, but is just as dedicated to his job and his view of the truth.

Together with Mason, they make for an investigative team worth listening to. One is open enough to believe in the impossible while the other tempers it with reason. When they both come to the same conclusion then they are positive it’s the right one.

One of my favorite situations is when two individuals start out with a rivalry or an intense dislike of one another and work around their differences to fall in love in the end. Ghost of a Chance employs this in a most beautiful manner since Mason lives to antagonize Fort at every opportunity. In Mason’s defense, Fort takes himself a bit too seriously and becomes an easy target. However, it’s all in fun and no harm is truly done.

Ghost of a Chance is a fun take on the ghost hunting scene, hitting both sides of the belief war. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, you’re treated to an engaging story with a bit of a twist at the end. I didn’t quite see it coming, although I should have, but I loved it all the same.

Can Fisher find his way back to Hunter, and can he find the courage to do what his heart wishes?

Fisher had lived his life as controlled and predictable as possible, except for one factor–Hunter Long his best friend and housemate. Now he must decide on whether he may lose his friend, or learn to live a little and not be so uptight.

Fisher and Hunter really are a dynamic duo, which I enjoyed getting to read about. Both of them have unique stories, to fit their opposite personalities, yet they are able to find common ground and not only become best friends for the better part of their life, but also to nurture the budding feelings they seem to harbor towards one another. Hunter is extremely outgoing and you can tell why people tend to be drawn to him. Fisher on the other hand is more if an introvert preferring a more structured life because of his upbringing. Each have large hearts and want to best for the other, despite their differences, which truly made these two endearing to me.

This was a nice light and playful story, which was exactly what I needed and was looking for. While I really enjoyed the characters, one thing that remained a mystery to me was what Hunter’s being a vampire really had to do with the story. It didn’t seem to play a large role in the story, and I would have enjoyed the story just as much without this element. It did not take away from the story either, because Hunter and Fisher just have such larger than life personalities.

I really enjoyed the romantic development and progress throughout the story. It felt very genuine to me, as if I can find it being played out in real life somewhere. This made me feel more emotionally attached to both the characters and the outcome. If I was looking for a nice playful yet romantic story I would definitely pick this one up again

Thousands of people go missing each year, and Everett Lacrowe discovers where they go when he falls into a world where the only purpose seems to be collecting others like himself. While most people in Dromos accept their surroundings and use a pointless routine to distract themselves, Everett will attempt to find out a way out.

What an interesting and strange experience Everett Lacrowe is about to have. He is a young man working in the local museum. Things seem normal in his life; then he has an accident. This bizarre occurrence sends him on a journey between dimensions. He walks into a place hard to imagine in real life, and the adventure begins.

Unusual beings wander about in this crazy new world. Everett tries to figure out how things work here because it seems like he could be trapped. Threats abound. He’d better catch on quick. Luckily, he meets a nice man, Frank, who helps him. Both Everett andFrank are kind, honest characters. It’s easy to root for them. Everett shows courage, and a reader can get behind him.

Dromos means passageway—a passageway between worlds. Suspense happens as one wonders if Everett will ever get back to the real world where life is mundane. There is some vagueness in the tale such as “When food wasn’t enough to satisfy, they had other things you could taste.” What other things? Some details would have been nice here. And jumping to conclusions happened at times. For instance, how did Everett have certain knowledge about Dromos? It’s not explained within the story. Sometimes the plot jumps around, throwing off the pace, but there are some good descriptions, especially of the illusory inhabitants of the new place. It’s certainly an imaginative story. It’s also interesting when Everett wonders if he’s mentally ill. This is a fast read with a unique storyline.

Ellis Parker is a military man who puts his faith in truth, duty, honor, and living for the moment. Keeping that peace isn’t easy, and he reveres the person who helps him stay on his chosen path: Ellis’ former Dominant lover and New Amsterdam’s most well-connected bartender, Maxwell Clark. So when Clark makes a rare and unexpected offer that might let Ellis relive the days when Ellis was Clark’s, who is Ellis to refuse such a chance?

Ellis Parker met Maxwell Clark at a Post-Traumatic stress counseling group for ex-soldiers after Afghanistan tours. Sensing their kindred spirits, the two men become friends, then confidants. As their bonds deepen they start confessing fantasies, and Clarke admits his frustration at being a Dominant unable to find a compatible submissive. The two men start exploring with delightful satisfaction resulting for them both.

Almost immediately after starting this novella jumps back into the past and the majority of the story is Ellis re-living his and Clark’s first sexual experience together. I found this style somewhat confusing, but was quickly lost to the hot, sensual and strongly BDSM themed scene was an intoxicating read. Finally for the last few pages it jumps back into the present. The story ends on a slightly unfinished note – leaving the reader wanting more – but in particular I found myself curious by what would have been the following scene. The authors leave a tantalizing vision of what’s to come, but wrap it up before this event unfolds. I was left both satisfied with what is written, but also wanting more, in particular some resolution between the potential upcoming threesome of Clark, his partner Daniel and Ellis.

Despite the fact this isn’t traditional, it’s a wonderful story, deeply graphic without being over the top. I found the scenes tastefully and erotically written – not at all distressing, overblown or harsh. There’s plenty of chemistry and spice, and I’d suggest this as a good place for people wanting to delve further into reading of the BDSM lifestyle without jumping in head-first to anything overtly hard core.
