I was unsure for awhile who the hero is supposed to be. Is something going to happen between Maggie and Ryan? Or is it Maggie and Brodan? Both seem to harbor feelings for Maggie, but neither brother wants to act on it, either.

Ryan is gentle and kind. He doesn’t press Maggie for answers that she doesn’t want to give. Not usually, anyway. Brodan is the absolute opposite. He’s pushy, blurts out what he thinks and feels, and had no problem poking and prodding into Maggie’s personal life and past, even when she hesitates to go into more detail. Both men have a certain impact on Maggie though, and she starts to come alive again.

Breathe Again is an emotional contemporary romance. Some parts of the book drag with very little action, but the character development is dynamic. There’s quite a bit of conflict, and though Brodan irritated me in the beginning, I warmed up to him after awhile. Overall this novel is enjoyable, but it’s far from a “light” read. It has a sucker punch emotional whammy, and I would advise to have tissues handy. Yes, there is a HEA, but there are some major tearjerker moments along the way.

If you enjoy contemporaries that are heavy on the roller coaster of feelings, or a story about a new chance at love, then pick up a copy of this heartfelt novel.

I loved that there was no sexuality in the book. The romance was expressed in an innocent yet more real way. It shows that love is very different from lust. I admire that about this book and because of that factor I can guarantee you that this was not the last inspirational book I’ll ever read. I truly enjoyed the genre.

Caffey’s character was very well written. She was sweet and innocent but had dark secrets that made the reader feel for her. I liked her flaws and found them to be very realistic. The way she had abandoned her faith in her first marriage and got it back after her husband killed himself made me relate to her, since many people turn to religion only in their time of need. In her new life, Caffey always puts her faith in God first and it made her appear strong and courageous.

Rhee was a smart, strong and sweet hero. I loved how his love for Caffey grew from him liking her as a person instead of basing it on physical lust alone. I won’t spoil it for you by telling you what happened but I can say that Ms. Hanson really covered all the bases. Many authors leave so many plot holes and I was pleased not to have found any. At times it seemed like Ms. Hanson actually threw herself into that kind of situation just to see if she could get out of it, or at least did extensive research on it.

All in all, I truly enjoyed this book and will have to keep my eyes open for future books by this author. Although it was my first inspirational, it was far from the last. If you enjoy good, sweet, inspirational romance stories, I recommend this book. I think you will love it.

All around, this book is enjoyable and keeps the reader guessing. If you like romance with a great suspense plot woven into it, then get yourself a copy of Deadly Reflection.

As she deals with some of the less-than-noble aspects of humanity and with modern society’s less-than-noble enterprises, she captivates with her ability to reveal the innermost needs and fears of the characters as they rise above adversity and find that happy-ever-after that had seemed so out of reach.

Ms. Miller makes her a warm, kind woman who is good with children, but finds words wound her soul when people speak badly about her.

Our hero is Samuel. His wife died several years ago and he has five children. The author wrote a very good tale that kept me reading until I finished it. I was afraid that Anna was going to shy away like a young, flighty horse. Ms. Miller had me hooked from the moment Anna dropped the blue paint on Samuel and I had to see how this story was going to end. It was a good, smoothly flowing tale where all the characters learned a few lessons on the way.

Ms. Miller has written several other Amish mysteries. Why not check them all out? And do read this one, it’s very good!

I enjoyed this story and saw a enormous potential in it. If it were lengthened and unanswered questions explored, it could have been really something. Still, it’s an enjoyable read.

The introduction of the scenery in the Irish countryside really made me feel as if I’d been there. My main concern was I guessed the end of the story after only reading a third of the book. I’m not sure if it was because I’ve read similar stories in the past, but it certainly dampened my reading enjoyment. However, this could just be me.

Haunting Passions does have mystery, suspense and ghosts and the story rolls along seamlessly. A little bit jerky due to the romantic interest keeping a low profile, but the story recovers smoothly and continues at a fast pace. A good read with only a touch of romance.

This story is an interesting mix of honor and lust. Britt MacKinnon starts by trying to make the king honor his marriage vows (at least until there’s an heir) when the king prefers to give into lust. Britt is sent to fetch the king’s favorite mistress, Lady Greer Armstrong.

Greer has already giving into lust. Now she and sister Genny are trying to do the safe, yet dishonorable (or is it honorable?) thing of keeping the king from finding out about the resultant pregnancy. Britt and Genny’s relationship was initially a nice juxtaposition of a moral couple and a bunch of immoral couples in an immoral society. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out. I became frustrated when Genny and Britt make the same mistakes as Greer and the king, proving that, despite being supposedly more honorable, they were no better than those they criticized.

There were some interesting plot twists that could have yielded a very intriguing story, but just when things should have heated up and become interesting, the complications resolved themselves. Any one of the dilemmas, if fully developed, could have resulted in a wonderful tension-rich book. All of them in a row, combined with the too easy, unrealistic resolutions, yielded something that was merely good.

Ms. Blair has the talent to paint wonderful scenes, set up interesting dilemmas, and create (at least initially) strong characters. The historical aspects of this book were wonderful, giving the reader a definite feel of time and place. I loved how Ms. Blair started each chapter with an old Scottish proverb.

Ms. Blair has wonderful writing skill, and I’ll be on the lookout for more of her works. The King’s Mistress was a good read that I largely enjoyed and if you’re a fan of historical romance, you might, too.
