The world building was handled well. All of the characters lived in a society that was very different from our own. For example, not all of the animals that are alive today were necessarily still around in the 2100s when this took place. These changes altered the way people thought about themselves, the environment, and the place they lived in. I can’t say much else without giving away spoilers, but I really liked seeing how all of these changes added up to some huge gaps in cultural knowledge and the development of new areas of knowledge between our century and their own. The author did a great job tying all of these things together even if the individual differences wouldn’t seem to necessarily be stuff that should have a big impact at first.

I would have liked to see more conflict in this story. There wasn’t a lot of it, and what did exist was resolved pretty early on in the plot. This made it tricky for me to remain interested in reading what would happen next because I never really worried about the characters or wondered if they’d be okay in the end.

John was such an intriguing main character. His backstory was developed beautifully, and I appreciated the fact that the reader didn’t get to hear most of it until he’d had a chance to charm us with his playful approach to life and romance. He’d been through so much that it was pretty interesting to compare who he currently was with the person he’d been many years before. I enjoyed having the chance to do exactly this.

Old Media should be read by anyone who has ever wondered what parts of our modern society might still be studied a few centuries from now.

Henry has gone through so much in just 6 months it would have made a lesser man go insane. His turning was traumatic, but also shows what kind of man he is. He ran toward a screaming woman and tried to save her from the rabid werewolf.

The relationship between Henry and Marilyn is so sweet. They gather strength from each other. They are constantly holding hands and anytime Henry is uncomfortable she is there to soothe him. He needs that comfort when his past comes back to haunt him. Due to the murders, Henry’s family is being guarded in case the attacker goes after them.

The only thing that threw me a bit was the story could be slow moving at times. Also, even though Marilyn is supposed to be smart, she is a bit bubble-headed at times.

The ending is not what I expected and things turn out in a way that I could not have dreamed of. The strength each character shows and the way they work together makes this a worthy novel to read.

I found the plot to be very well thought out and it intrigued me as to how the story would end. There were a lot of suggestions and no real answers until the final few pages. Good book with a lovely storyline.

Devi attempts to break through the walls Cori put up, and their interaction is tender and real. They bring up some interesting questions, ensconced in the mystical. Dashes of visual imagery enhance the story.

Unusual characteristics of both women are quite extraordinary, and this makes for a thoughtful tale. It’s a sweet romance between women who are also friends and well worth the read. I recommend the story for a quick and satisfying venture into romantic territory between characters who truly respect each other.

It makes the thought of two characters possibly ending up together for good even sweeter in my opinion than it might otherwise be.

I would have liked to see more attention paid to the character development in this tale. Matthew was a fascinating guy who’d been through a lot in his short life. As interesting as it was to get to know him, I didn’t see the kinds of personal development in him I was expecting to find. He had plenty of opportunities to grow as a person. I simply needed to see more examples of him doing that during the course of his adventures.

Speaking of characters having adventures, though, this book was full of twists and turns. Once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down again until I knew how everything would turn out for the protagonist and all of the folks he met along the way. One of the things I enjoy the most about Mr. Frankel’s stories is how much action he packs into his plots, and this one was just as exciting as everything else he’s written so far.

The Auctioneer should be read by anyone who likes adventurous science fiction.

She’s a stranger, what does she know about his family? Even worse, she’s given the downstairs bedroom to grandma and he was using that one. She’s a disruption to his ordered life. But when he finds out what the caregiver was doing, he’s thankful she got rid of the bad one. She helps him pick the new one.

As she sees more of him (he’s often gone because he’s managing hotels), she finds herself attracted to him. The feeling is mutual. They both agree they never want to get married again. But love doesn’t always work that way…

This is a feel good story that made me smile and the ending is perfect. Wait until you learn the secret of the Christmas tree Noelle and Simon put up. That will make you smile, too.

For once I wasn’t silently shouting at the hero and heroine to talk to each other. They did talk, but their reasons for not revealing all were understandable. This is an excellent regency book which I enjoyed reading.

After receiving this new revelation about Jenny, Pen starts to question her life and her marriage and she finds the courage to face her life’s truths instead of keeping the peace.

Pen reminds me so much of myself. Lost in a marriage, a working mother carrying a full load of life. Even though the stress level would increase for Pen it only made her humorous side show. I loved Pen and Sanjay’s love for one another. Both were open and welcomed the chance to open up, try things a new way and work on making their relationship better. Sometimes I think we get comfortable in the roles society creates that we don’t tweak the roles to fit our personal situations. Why does the man have to work and bring home the bulk of the income? Why does the mother have to tend to the children and keep up the house? Everyone’s marriage doesn’t fit this mold. Pen and Sanjay had the courage to reevaluate their relationship roles and execute changes that worked for them.

Penelope is a kind and lovable woman. She has two young children but she made sure to include Jenny’s daughter Cecily. I enjoy seeing the transformation of Penelope. At work she settled but she had coworkers around her that cared about her and knew she had what it takes to move up in the company. She has so much to gain and now her confidence level has a boost. I like how the relationship between Penelope and Matt turned out and Penelope had the courage to continue to speak the truth and not just what Matt wanted to hear. Though Penelope and her dad didn’t have the best relationship Penelope knew she must face the obstacles that has kept her and her dad apart.

This is a life-affirming, funny and delightful read that I highly recommend to readers who enjoy a well-written, satisfying story of humor but also one that deals with real life issues.

This is an incredible read, full of external and internal conflict. The author does a great job of putting the reader in Wynter’s head, seeing what she is feeling and seeing. The cult feels real, and explains how people can be drawn into such an environment. Wynter’s character goes through several transformations as she adjusts to the normal world, and then is forced to survive in a world going crazy. Her spirituality goes under the most change because she’s trying to force herself not to believe Magnus’s teaching of the end of the world and her soul going to hell.

Chris and she have a lot in common, although Wynter does not see it. He is dealing with adjusting to the real world after the war. Both are fumbling to find a place in this world. Wynter sees the worst, but then she is shown the strength and love that can also be shown in the world. A wonderful book full of characters that undergo many changes and you get a front view of it. It also is a little scary as this story could be true. I also enjoyed the love that Wynter and Chris have, and the love she had for her family.

I would recommend this to anyone.
