This book is such fun to read. It’s written in the first person with two points of view: Meredith, who is still grieving for her deceased boyfriend and Prozac (yes you read that right) a dog who needs a temporary home.

Prozac is no ordinary dog, he’s a Spirit Guide Dog presently acting as a Certified Therapy Dog for Helen, an elderly British lady. Meredith reluctantly agrees to take care of Prozac while his owner is in hospital, but she is not prepared for the hijinks of Prozac and the elderly residents of Evergreen Gardens, one of the locations where he works as a therapy dog.

Despite the depression of Meredith, the story is very light hearted and moves quickly from disaster to disaster and the resolution of these hiccups in life. Along the way Meredith finds a way out of the doldrums, Prozac would make anyone smile – or lose their temper. She also finds her life is not completely destroyed and she can begin to live and love again.

This is cleverly written with delightful characters, each of them unique in their own way. The older ladies and men are exactly as one would expect – full of fun and devilment.

A truly enjoyable book which dragged me in and wouldn’t let me stop reading until I got to the unexpected conclusion.

Despite being part of a series, this book stands alone and is the type I like to curl up in front of the fire with on a cold winters day.

I enjoyed reading Amish Baby Snatched and found it written in the style of romance books of a few decades ago, although the content is totally present day. At the end of the book I felt satisfied with the story and the conclusion.

The fly in the ointment keeping everyone’s dreams at bay is a girl named Eva May, who you may find yourself laughing at the whole time you’re hating her.

Most of this story has a comfortable flair—friends, love, quirky people, and a hometown with old-fashioned character, but there were a few confusing instances in the story where character traits turned topsy-turvy. For example, Melanie, Kate’s best friend and business partner, has given the reader reason to believe she is hopeful Kate and Tappe might reconnect, yet when Tappe asks to see Kate, Melanie turns into an over-protective grouch and balks at even giving Kate a message from him. Even odder is Kate’s behavior when she shows no interest in even saying hello to Tappe even though their friendship has been rekindled. I was also disappointed to find a few editing errors beginning on the very first page with the word “facet” instead of “faucet.” Most glitches, however, were simply missing or omitted words.

This is a quick, clean read, especially fun around Valentine’s Day given its candy hearts theme. Readers who like romance and old friendships will settle in nicely with this cute story!

I could sympathize with her when her world seemed to be going right, only to take a turn for the worse. The number of times this happened seemed to cast doom over her life, but she carried on trying.

Things come to a head when the Fey decide to go to battle on Earth, rather than their own domain. I did wonder if Carla would sit back and let things happen without any protest, especially as Murphy seemed determined to protect her no matter what. A satisfactory but unexpected ending ties up the story nicely.

I believe this is part of a series, but this book has a strong storyline is definitely a stand alone novel.

I remember the 80s movie Witness and after I started reading Hidden I found it easy to make a few parallel observations. The difference is that in this novel the romance bears fruit and there’s an HEA. I enjoyed the simple, profound and gentle romance between two very divergent people.

Henry and Anna are the main protagonists who at first don’t get along well – oil and water. As with all good romance stories, as circumstances affect them, as they get to know each other and see each other as they really are, feelings start to grow, respect is nurtured and understanding develops.

The character with the most to gain, lose, grow and change is Anna. She’s running for safety; she’s felt lost in her own world for a long time and someone does not want her to leave it. Time is running out. There’s a guy hot on her tail and he’s not very nice. Where can she turn? Who will help her? It turns out the least obvious is the best bet, but can she leave all that she knew behind? Surprisingly it’s her faith in religion that slowly guides her to make the choices that lead her to what her heart had been searching for and never found in all that she’s done in her life so far. It takes the calm and focused lifestyle of the Amish to give Anna the time to slow down, to think, to feel, and most importantly, listen to what God was trying to tell her. There’s so much Englisher static from her background it takes a while for Anna to finally hear.

The story is told mostly from Anna’s point of view, then Henry’s. The villain gets his say and he’s a sad specimen of humanity. The author made it very clear as the plot unfolded that something really isn’t right with that guy. He was an effective antagonist.

The one thing that saddened me about this novel was Anna’s mother. Her dad was written quite well and I liked him. The mother was a head case. Where there should have been redemption, she just didn’t get it, not truly, and I was disappointed in her final act on stage. Didn’t she learn anything?

I liked the dramatic conclusion and found it showcased all the main characters’ strengths. I liked the secondary characters and found them helpful as Anna and Henry navigated their growing attraction. The happy ever after was sweet and full of spirituality and love. It was tender and brought a smile to my face.

Hidden is a delightful change of pace from the many frenetic, violent or over the top sexy stories out there. Sometimes, a reader just wants a story of the heart, about two people overcoming seemingly unsurmountable odds to find love, happiness and fulfillment in a deeper way than most can comprehend. There are times where I need to be reminded that love isn’t proved by material things or boisterous gestures, but by trust in another person and the faith, love and respect they have for their God and each other. It can be beautiful and Ms. Gray did a wonderful job of capturing that with her story.

Nothing worth having is ever easy. This story shows that love can be strong and worth all of the bad we go through to find it.

Melinda has been out of the asylum, where she has been wrongfully admitted, for two years. She has her own house, a roommate and goes to university for her classes. However, her new life with Trent, who may or may not be the love of her life, comes with a couple of hiccups.

Trent and Melinda start experiencing events and accidents that are not only improbable but down right paranormal. They know that what they are experiencing is a paranormal event, they are being haunted or the house is haunted. When Melinda disappears, Trent knows that he has to get her back from where ever she is and he will do anything to bring her back alive.

Trent and Melinda are first shown as just friends. I just think it would have been nice to read about how they become friends and then how Trent fell in love with Melinda. This book did show their attraction towards each other and their concern or love for each other with a couple of almost kisses and a whole lot of heat between each other, perfect for readers who aren’t interested in being in the bedroom with the main characters.

The Other Side is a ghost story. The first half of the book was pure ghost story and slowly the story starts evolving and the other elements of the plot began to appear. Then it starts becoming more fantasy than ghost story. I think what surprised me was how much of fantasy elements I saw in this books because it is not what I expected.

My expectation was of a typical paranormal. The main characters are being haunted, threatened by unseen forces who want their death for some reason and they find a way to eventually save themselves. This book showed the other side to the haunting that I don’t normally get to experience in a book. I liked it. It was different. Readers who enjoy a good paranormal experience but want something new should give this one a try.

This is a fun and lighthearted story I really enjoyed. Warm and sweet it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day story. I loved the slow, emotional pace of the story. Kelsey has been hurt in the past, but she can’t resist Landry. And Landry is tired of the glitz and soulless glamour of the modeling business and being semi-famous and just wants to settle back home with a real, traditional girl. They’re made for each other, but neither is willing to jump head first into anything. So I found this really set the pace and tone for a sweet, soft, gentle romance and was not disappointed.

I also really enjoyed how there was such a country feel to the story. Set in farming country, with horses and plenty of healthy farm-style work this book really feels like one that can pass the test of time. It could have been set twenty years ago – and likely will still be pretty relevant and feel right in twenty years time. While I found the conflict side of the plot pretty predictable it didn’t hamper my enjoyment of the story too much. The fresh characters and slow, lazy progress of their romance helped me enjoy their sweet kisses and romantic ending.

A sweet story with lush characters and a happy, feel-good glow at the end. Recommended.

I normally don’t like romance stories where the pairings/hero-heroine mix isn’t pretty clear cut, but the happy overtone, the lighthearted writing style kind of carried me away regardless. Also, Andi understood how different it was to be flirting in texts with Garrett while simultaneously trying to get to know Cute Coffee Guy better. I had a few pangs – one heroine aiming for two men outside of a ménage style story isn’t usually my thing – but overall this was the only qualms I had throughout the whole book, and in all other respects it was a fun, lighthearted story.

I also really enjoyed the whole candy heart thing. The author used this tool very well and I loved the different variations both Garrett and Andi came up with. I found it to be something different, fun and very romantic.

This was a sweet short story – with no kissing or descriptive foreplay. It was like a lovely entrée, a great lead up to what I feel will be a good romance. There is a definite happy ending – albeit a clichéd, predictable one – and I was left with a happy smile and a good sense of satisfaction, very happy that Andi had found her Happily Ever After. A lovely, sweet story and one I’ll happily read again in the future.

Preston was a well-rounded and fascinating character. There were times when his stubborn antics made me shake my head, but even his biggest flaws were there for a reason. It was fun to see how he grew and changed as a result of the things that happened to him during the course of the plot. He stayed true to his original personality while also surprising me with how intelligently he responded to everything that challenged him.

The chemistry between Allison and Preston never felt quite right to me. I liked them both quite a bit as individuals, but their personalities clashed in so many different ways that it was hard to imagine them as a couple. She was straight-laced while he was impulsive, for example. There were times when I wondered why they were ever seriously interested in each other because of how deeply set into their ways they were. The fact that it didn’t work out between them the first time around only made me think about this even more.

This was one of the most original fantasy stories I’ve read recently. Ms. Miller spent a lot of time showing the audience exactly how the Romance and Proposal Department operated. I felt like I knew the entire department inside and out by the time she’d finished describing what it looked like, how its employees were expected to behave, and what happened when people broke the rules. It was nice to have such a clear understanding of it all, especially once Preston’s job was on the line because I knew exactly what he was risking.

Raymond was such a likable guy. I appreciated the fact that the plot spent as much time as it did showing how he spent his time when he wasn’t falling for a woman he’d just met. Seeing him dote on his nieces and nephews and struggle with his stutter only made me like him more than I already did. He felt like a real person to me because of how well I got to know him.

The fantasy elements of this story were faint. While I wouldn’t expect a romance to necessarily go into as much detail about how the magic in that universe works as I would from something that was purely fantasy, it would have been helpful to have more clues about Raymond’s abilities and how they worked. Mentioning them without explaining any of the rules about what magic can be used for made certain scenes confusing for me because I never knew what Raymond was and was not capable of. Had it all been clearer, I would have chosen a higher rating as I really liked the plot overall.

The chemistry between Raymond and Millie couldn’t have been better. Their personalities complemented each other beautifully. What was even better than that was how effortlessly they brought out the best parts of each other when they spent time together. Seeing them get along so nicely made me hope they’d have a happy ending.

Marry Me is a good choice for anyone who is in the mood for an old-fashioned romance with a hint of fantasy.
