Alone on Valentine’s Day, Leo Rankin attends the library’s Blind Date With a Book event hoping for something he can take to bed with him that night, and finds himself competing against Gerri Webb for the last remaining book. Wild child Gerri is not his usual type. Yet he feels an immediate, sizzling attraction and agrees to share the book and its accompanying bag of candy hearts.

The whole idea of a Blind Date With a Book is to go off genre, so Gerri doesn’t mind when their flirty conversation suggests they unwrap each other rather than the mystery book. When a candy heart advises, “Ask Me,” she asks Leo back to her apartment. She never expects button-down Leo to hit all her buttons, but by the next morning she fears her heart’s in danger. Can one night spent off genre translate to real life?

Caverta is the best solution for men, who had a prostate surgery, or if they are suffering the unwanted levitra online usa fat trouble in their knees. Such a simple command, “Ask Me” and yet, so many possibilities.

This little novella is all about the possibilities, taking a chance, stepping outside of your comfort zone and the author created a charming tale to explore what happens when straight laced meets steampunk goddess. Such a fun read!

This one hit all the right buttons. Leo and Gerri are so opposite it’s almost unrealistic to imagine them together but that’s what made this story so sexy. They’re both stepping out of their comfort zones and are so, I don’t want to say shocked but, definitely pleasantly (really pleasantly) surprised.

Leo and Gerri have fantastic chemistry and in part it’s due to the fact that they choose to be completely honest with each other. Open to suggestion and open in their discussions. I didn’t know if Ms. Strickland would give them a HEA or an HFN with this being a short story but I didn’t want to stop reading, and could happily have read this as a longer story if she ever chose to rewrite and expand it.

Gerri seems to have more trouble wrapping her mind around the idea of them being together but I could understand her hesitation. It wasn’t unfounded but I was glad to see that she had friends in her inner circle who were smart enough to give her sound advice. One of my favorite lines comes from her friend Max when he says “if you’re from two different worlds, then build a bridge”.

I read in the author’s bio that this was her first contemporary romance. If Ask Me is a sample of her writing voice, she’s someone I’d like to continue reading.

Readers looking for a quickie with all kinds of heart and just enough spice but, not too explicit, should give this one a try.

Shy Kevin and outrageous Rhys are buddies and police partners—and they sleep together a lot. Neither one is very mature, but they have fun together and can depend on each other.

Rhys is part wolf shifter but can’t shift. Kev is a former overweight teenager who doesn’t stand up for himself very well. But he wants to be somebody’s one and only someday—not just a sex buddy.

When it’s time to get certified as the official shifter and partner team their precinct needs, the process reveals fundamental cracks in their relationship, tensions that have to be resolved—one way or another.

Rhys is a quarter wolf shifter. While his shifter side is diluted enough he can’t change into a werewolf, he can beat pretty much any human in any physical challenge without even breaking a sweat. So his work precinct is making him take some extra training to be a proper, certified cop shifter. While not opposed to the extra work, Rhys and his human police partner, Kevin are both perfectly comfortable with their partnership as it is. Neither wants to rock the boat. So Rhys talks Kevin into doing the certification with him. But the fierce training shows them both problems neither had been aware of…

This is an interesting read I really enjoyed. While I’m not always a fan of stories written in the first-person I quickly got into the swing of this one. I enjoyed the ribaldry between Rhys and Kevin, two guys who, while perfectly grown up, often acted like immature teens together. I felt like it gave the whole book a relaxed, casual tone that had me smiling and happily turning the pages. I had a few questions about the world building – like how can someone be considered a wolf shifter, and be a quarter werewolf but not be able to change? – so it felt a little like I was entering a series mid-way through. While I usually hate that, I did enjoy the characters and story itself, so I could push back my own questions about how some of the things worked.

There were some descriptive foreplay-ish kind of scenes – M/M, obviously – and a very small amount of non-explicit sex. I found all the physical romance to be tastefully written and deliciously spicy. I think most readers should enjoy them as much as I did – only those who want to avoid M/M or prefer “sweet only” stories should steer clear. There is nothing outrageous or even really erotic here – just two men in a happy, consenting sexual relationship.

I found the plot to be interesting and quite fresh, I’ve never really read a book like this so the newness kept me entertained. I also really enjoyed the author’s style and tone. I found Rhys and Kevin to be interesting, layered characters and found myself engrossed in their world and their getting certified. Their relationship underwent quite the drastic change and this added strongly to the emotional content too.

A fun, fast paced story I really enjoyed. I can strongly recommend this work and plan to look up more by this author.

This is a great werewolf/paranormal short story. I thoroughly enjoyed the complex plot – and was surprised by a few of the twists, which was lovely and refreshing. I also particularly liked how Cary and Grant didn’t just fall all over each other and jump straight into bed. They both had to work at their relationship and had problems to overcome.

I did find the whole set-up a little over the top. I’m not sure how often FBI agents are werewolves, or their paralegal boyfriends get kidnapped by rival werewolf clans and held as hostage – but while fun and fantastic, this is definitely a book where I think you’ll need to check your brain at the door, suspend disbelief and just relax and go with the flow. Realistic, it’s not. Fun and action packed, it is.

I also really liked both Grant and Cary’s characters. There is only one sex scene – a deliciously hot one that is fairly brief and one I didn’t find gave too much away. I felt the author walked a great line between a steamy love scene (M/M) and not tipping over into an erotic or overly explicit scene that could put readers off.

I found this to be a fun, fast paced short story and am hoping it’s part of a larger series about the Moon Dogs werewolf pack. I’ll definitely be looking for more of these stories. A great, quick read and one I would happily recommend.

His plans don’t go quite the way he expects when he’s forced to prove his skills with a gun. Life has a way of using the unexpected to create the opportunity he hoped for but never saw coming.

I wasn’t sure I was going to like Kit when I first met him. He was drunk. That’s not the most appealing characteristic in a hero but I was intrigued by pistol packing Cora so I had good incentive to keep reading. Kit makes quite an impression on her as well but her background and the setting of this book makes her version of “hero” a lot different than mine so I didn’t rule him out as being redeemed in my eyes at some point.

One thing I did like is that the author moves the story along by not dragging out how quickly Wainwright discovers her secret. I was hoping it wasn’t going to draw out until the end of the book and be a final hurdle in their relationship. That would have been a little too predicable. By him discovering it sooner, he had the chance to use his knowledge to get to know her on his terms. Not exactly ethical for someone wearing a badge but certainly effective and entertaining.

Kit most definitely redeems himself from his first impression on Cora and myself when they finally become intimate. For someone who grew up around loose women and guns, Kit is surprisingly gentle and gentlemanly when he sets his mind to it. He’s also honorable. This was a hero I could cheer for.

The story has a few things that felt a little too convenient. The ranch house he inherits, one that’s been abandoned for a long time, has holes in the walls and critters but yet, she finds clothes in a trunk that fit them perfectly and don’t smell, clean, non-moth eaten linens for the bed, as well as a copper tub for two in the barn, Stuff like that was noticeable but for the most part I simply thought “well, that’s convenient” and moved on. The plot in and of itself and the character’s chemistry held the story together and kept my interest.

Also, former Sheriff Sidlow alluded to a secret that would make The Willows rich. I wanted to see if that thread would be left hanging or how it would tie into the rest of the story. It does get answered, though not as I expected, it’s a satisfactory conclusion.

His Most Wanted is a good historical western short. I ultimately liked both Kit and Cora because they’re honorable and try to think of the well being of others and protect the ones that are often overlooked and helpless no matter if it’s a prostitute, a town drunk or someone caught in a loveless marriage. The length is good and readers who enjoy a spicy historical should give this one a read.

She’s the epitome of that girl who makes the hero waffle between “kill her or kiss her?” Not to give too much away but, he kisses her, over and over and over again. Nice!

One of my favorite lines from the movie While You Were Sleeping is when Jack, played by Bill Pullman, is describing Lucy, played by Sandra Bullock, and he says, “She drives you so nuts you don’t know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her.” Riley is a lot like Lucy. She manages to find herself in the oddest predicaments and her only fault is being too nice…and climbing into windows that don’t belong to her. I was laughing out loud throughout this short story.

And then she picked up that innocent sweetheart candy piece. Kiss Me Again. That scene, his voice and the heart melting tension. Whoa! Good stuff!

Magnet to steel? Well, a little more like fiberglass to metal bumpers. I loved the chemistry between these two. Riley is sunshine and chaos and Sam is a one track mind lawyer, until he runs into Riley…okay, she ran into him first, but it was so perfectly timed.

This was fun read. I love a good rom-com and this one hits all the right notes. I would love to read more books from Ms. DeVere. The story is light but has substance and heart and just the right amount of heat for the page count. An easy recommend for readers looking for a quick read that left this reader with a smile.

Holing up in their respective corners, a battle of wills ensues. Who will be the first to blink…or give in to their off-the-charts chemistry and decide to make this unorthodox living arrangement a little more permanent?

If you’re in the mood for a quirky, fun and busy romance, then this is the book to choose. It’s busy because the story is told in a panoramic scope with many characters playing roles that affect, help or play practical jokes on the main characters, Rory and Amber. It’s quirky because of the characters’ personalities and how they play off of each other and it’s fun because of the dialogue, the adventure and the romance. There’s a lot to enjoy.

I Dream of Dragons is told from four points of view, Rory’s, Amber’s, a third party and a ghost. Most of the story is told via Rory or Amber but the plot is stirred, poked and prodded by the other two. There are life changing circumstances, a secondary romance, a feud revealed and a plot fueled by greed. There is also references to other characters that more than likely appear in a different series and have crossed over to help give older fans a feeling of continuation, especially if they are well liked characters; and for new readers, a reason for curiosity about how the couples found their own HEAs. As it is, the secondary characters help smooth over the major transitions both Rory and Amber experience.

The positive strength of having all these sub-plots and secondary characters populate the novel is a dual-edged sword. It also has the unfortunate effect of keeping a reader slightly off-balance. If not for the extreme likeability of everyone, the constant shifting would have turned me off. Too many things going on make the story seem like a three-ring circus – I feel like I’m missing something somewhere because I can’t concentrate on all three at once and I feel disjointed because the focus is constantly fluctuating. I like a book with a smooth flow, this one doesn’t read like that. Nevertheless, it is entertaining, fast moving and its gem is the romance story.

Also, this is a perfect book for readers who do not want a dark edge or intense, stress-filled drama. The conflict is rather mild but it certainly did its job in affecting the plot. Sometimes, people’s personality conflicts and how they face life’s challenges creates the clash one needs for an interesting tale.

I Dream of Dragons is an easy recommend, especially for dragon fans, paranormal romance fans or anyone looking for a fun, light and briskly entertaining read. The chemistry between Rory and Amber is very apparent and I enjoyed meeting them and watching them navigate their path to love. I had fun.

Although captivated by the whip-smart, free-spirited beauty, he fears she’d be all wrong as a wife … if she would even take such a gruff cynic for her husband. But when matters escalate with the diplomat, she chooses Edwin’s gallant offer of a marriage between friends in hopes that it will deter her stalker. She expects nothing more than an amiable union, but their increasingly tempestuous kisses prove more than she bargained for. When her stalker’s vow to expose the lovers’ deepest secrets threatens to destroy their blossoming attraction, will their tenuous bond withstand public ruin, or will Edwin lose all that’s important to him to protect his bride?

The Study of Seduction includes a hefty emotional plot that deals with being a survivor of physical violence at a time when such things were never discussed, dealt with, confronted or acknowledged. Women back in the day were victimized twice over because for some twisted reason, society always seemed to lay the blame on the woman no matter how innocent, pure or precious she was. There were some men who had their heads screwed on straight, their compassion and willingness to put the blame squarely where it belonged, on the criminal, made them unsung heroes; and then there were other men who all too easily believed another man over a woman, misogyny at its most vile. This novel explores the results of those two types of men, and how it dominos in time, and a woman who has to struggle to be perfect for society, play by its rules, act like she’s like every other eligible lady looking to make a match, yet never reveals what happened to her. In fact she’s too embarrassed and has been dealing with it on her own – not that that’s working out too well for her. This is the backdrop of the story in which a reader will watch as a romance between Clarissa and Edwin emerges. The plot is a serious one for sure, but the romance between the hero and heroine is beautiful, poignant, challenging, frustrating (for Edwin) and delightful.

Ms. Jefferies even adds another plot conflict to spice things up. Seriously, The Study of Seduction isn’t for readers who want fluffy, cotton candy, brainless fun. This is flavored like a romantic suspense novel, with a mystery to solve and daring villains that seem to have unlimited power to plague the heroine. Certainly, this book is a page flipper because the pace is brisk, the dialogue is crisp and the personality byplays between Clarissa and Edwin were engaging, entertaining and many times, heart wrenching or just so incredibly romantic, they made me swoon.

Another strong element is the secondary supporting characters. They were such a great asset to the novel as a whole. Considering the sheer meatiness of the plot and the intrigues that abounded, the main characters needed people in their corner and the author provided a wonderful cast to help out. The best part came at the end with a big, happy, unexpected surprise that made the happy ever after extra special and exciting. I was thrilled!

My favorite aspect of the book was Edwin’s love for Clarissa. For readers who feel a romance is healthier when physical expressions are explored, fear not. Edwin works magic and eventually, Clarissa gets into the swing of things and discovers her inner playful siren. It’s all good.

The Study of Seduction is a must read for fans of Ms. Jeffries. This one is a winner. It’s busy, and easy to read even if it’s about a subject that is a little dark because the author balanced everything just right. I cannot think of a single thing that I would change about this novel. It’s well done, well written and an easy book to recommend.

Everything he swore he didn’t want seems as natural as breathing. But just as he gathers the courage to grab for the golden ring, another unexpected twist threatens to tarnish what could have been a shining future.

Warning: Sticky fingers and dirty diapers can change a couple forever.

This book was by far my favorite on this series, and let me say that I have loved them all.

This is a sexy romance about two people in love and perfectly willing to make sacrifices for each other, but what happens when tragedy changes their lives forever. Jason is the last of the Montgomery Mavericks to tie the knot but he’s been hiding a big secret from everyone, including the woman he loves. Lydia’s family is rocked by tragedy on the eve of her wedding and leaving her with custody of her sister’s three small children. Now Jason’s lies come back on him and threatens to tear them apart.

As usual, this book was really well written and realistic. Lydia had a hard time being an instant mother to three little ones. She was frustrated and felt inadequate at times and also conflicted about her relationship with Jason. It seemed that he was too good at convincing everybody that he had zero interest in ever being a father. It wasn’t that way at all but that lie nearly cost him the one thing he wanted more than anything. This story was certainly loaded with drama and angst and the characters were wonderful. Also, I loved the special twist and the epilogue was beautiful.

This was the final book in the Montgomery Mavericks series and I absolutely hate to see it end. I love the author’s writing and getting to know all the wonderful characters and watching their drama play out toward so many happy endings. Lastly, I enjoyed every page of this book and look forward to the next book from Cynthia D’Alba since reading this series has definitely made me a fan for life.

As time runs short before Kyle ships out again, the desire Kyle and Rachel have suppressed breaks free in a fiery rush. Tempting her to reveal a secret that could give him a reason to stay or burn their love to ash.

“Warning: Contains a hot military man who will steal your panties as well as your heart.”

This was such a great book. It’s an incredibly sweet, emotional romance that I couldn’t put down.

This book had a lot of conflict in the plot. The heroine Rachel was in love with two brothers, James and Kyle. But it was James who made the first move so Rachel became engaged to the wrong brother while Kyle stepped aside and let his brother claim the woman he loved. Then an argument led to one passionate moment and a huge secret between Rachel and Kyle. Now five years later Kyle is back home from the military and Rachel is a widow. The nearly tangible attraction is there but the weight of guilt still lies between them. The beauty of this plot is that although mistakes were made and hearts were broken there wasn’t any clear betrayal from anyone. That’s why it worked out so well.

His Reason To Stay is the first book that I’ve read in this series but it definitely won’t be the last. It’s a sweet story that was fast paced but beautifully written. Kyle and Rachel were wonderful characters who had always loved each other but made some wrong choices. They were both vulnerable and I was easily pulled into the tension of how Kyle would react when the Rachel’s secret was revealed. I might just add that Rachel’s little girl, Ava, actually stole the show in this book. Her character was absolutely adorable and really livened up the story.

This book can be read as a stand alone for anyone, like myself, who hasn’t read the series. There’s really not much else for me to say except that I really loved it and intend to read the rest of the series as soon as possible.

In the epic conclusion of the Fierce Hearts series, the colony takes its biggest risk of all to shut down the Nexus Group forever – will Lara and Booker survive to take their second chance at love?

This story starts off with immediate tension. Our heroine, Lara, is in danger right off that bat. She’s attacked and does her best to protect herself (can I just say how much I love a kick-butt heroine?) but is simply overwhelmed. Thankfully, Booker is nearby to help.

Some time ago, I read another book in this series (Secrets), so have some insight into the backstory and world-building here. Still, I clearly missed something in between the books, so the martial law that’s been imposed on the town was unexpected. The tension due to this conflict is almost unbearable at times. Everyone is tip-toeing around and worried about a million different things. And it’s all building to the crescendo at the end…

Author Lynn Crandall has a wonderful way with words and description. She makes the scenes and characters come to life in her books, and this one was no exception. The shifters, the setting, the soldiers are all described clearly but not to the point where my eyes glazed over. She also balances the romance with the suspense nicely, and I’d say this book is split right down the middle, so should appeal to both romance readers and those who prefer suspense.

The relationship between Lara and Booker was incredibly sweet… friends first and so much affection and trust from the start. They have their share of bumps, but I never doubted they’d make it through.

I do wish I’d read all the books in order. While the author does a good job catching readers up who aren’t entirely familiar with the series, I still feel that I missed things and that my experience with the book would have been much richer if I’d read them all. With the author’s writing skill and the interesting plot line, I’m sure I’d have been completely engaged in them all and am comfortable recommending this series to lovers of paranormal romance and suspense.
