Ford Kendrick has often dreamed of the day that Jamie Keller would come home to Montana. After high school, she needed to leave—and he, duty-bound to rescue his family’s ranch, pushed her to go. The Army made Jamie a hero, but Ford still sees the gorgeous, loving woman who lit up his whole world.

Every day since she left, Jamie has longed for Ford. One glimpse confirms it: the sexy, dangerous-looking cowboy left a hole in her heart that nothing else can fill. Yet the battle scars she bears—inside and out—won’t let her trust anyone enough to get close.

Ford wants to bring Jamie back to the life they dreamed of building. But locked somewhere in her memories is a dark truth that threatens her safety. It’s a battle Ford won’t let her fight alone, not when he’s determined to keep her by his side, now and always…

I was absolutely captivated by this sweet but intense cowboy romance. Jennifer Ryan delivered an emotional and sensitive second chance at love story that had my attention the entire way through.

Eleven years ago Ford Kendrick broke Jamie’s heart when he sent her away with his good intentions. She returned as a wounded warrior who had some pretty intense issues. I had to love both of these amazing characters just so so much. I took to Jamie right away and rooted for her to overcome her adversities so she could be with the love of her life. I loved Ford for being so sweet and persistent and standing by Jamie when she felt so alone. These two characters and the gripping mystery that surfaced had me enthralled.

The writing was absolute perfection on this one. Jennifer Ryan spun a beautiful story for these amazing characters and I loved watching Ford and Jamie get their second chance to be together. They both worked at the relationship even when it was hard at times. At heart I felt this story was about courage, trust, and true love. On an emotional level I feel like His Cowboy Heart is one of the best books that I’ve read in a while. It doesn’t get any more romantic for this reader.

Feisty businesswoman Aubree Manning knew coming back to Prospect, Texas would land her in the middle of drama. Her ex-boyfriend-turned-sheriff, Parker Montgomery, never forgave her for dumping his Camaro into the pond before she left town. Determined to make her pay, Parker arrests her the moment she enters town, but she manages to smooth talk her way out of trouble. However, it soon becomes difficult to suppress her lingering feelings for Parker when she starts spending more and more time with him.

Parker suffers in silence with anxiety and nightmares due to his dark past. After serving in the army for nearly eight years, he came back to Prospect to start anew. Though he never quite got over Aubree bailing on him the moment she turned eighteen, it seemed so easy picking up where they left off. The past can be forgiven, but the future stands in the balance. She’s only in town for a week and then she’s going to do the very thing she did ten years ago, unless Parker can find some way to convince her to stay.

Short but very well written, this story slips the reader into a vicarious experience filled with humor, sadness, emotions both immature and mature, nosy but caring town folks, and a love that refuses to give up.

Aubree Manning and Parker Montgomery, in love since childhood, have been apart ten years. Eight of those years Parker was fighting in Afghanistan. Now he is sheriff of Prospect, Texas and fights to control his PTSD. Aubree has been in Dallas. Now a rich financial counselor, she returns to Prospect for a week.

Aubree, always a troublemaker, but a loved troublemaker, dabbles in danger as that undying love goads her into doing most unusual things to find her way back to Parker and to entice him back to her.

The love scenes are hot and sweet. The high school memories captivate. The reconnection as “forever friends” is so sincere and caring, the reader feels Parker’s gradual release of anger, the seeping in of peace, and that “I’m all alone” feeling, so long endured, slithers away.

Lexi Davis does a super job of taking the reader into the hearts and minds of the characters. The humor she slips in is delightful. What is revealed about the characters enthralls.

The fictional ranch life and some of the small town life slips almost too far from reality at times and detract a little, but not enough for me to even dream of stopping. I had to be sure that “forever love” worked its magic so Aubree and Parker got their happy-ever-after.

Following the disastrous defeat of the clans at Culloden, Scottish Chief’s son Diarmad Ramsay makes his dying father a promise. Diarmad will play the part of Bonny Prince Charlie in an effort to help the true Prince escape the Highlands. With only the fiery Mara MacIvor for guide and with danger on his heels, he must risk all for a Cause in which he no longer believes.

Mara MacIvor considers Ramsay a poor substitute for her beloved Prince. Ramsay may be one of the bonniest men she’s ever met and a braw sight with a sword in his hand, but his disillusionment makes a wide gulf between them. Pursued through the Highlands by Sassenachs and ruthless Highland renegades bent on claiming the price on Prince Charlie’s head, their physical attraction soon becomes a conflagration. But will they ever be bound by more than Diarmad’s vow of honor?

Duty versus love is a theme that threads through this wild trek in the cold, wet Highlands of Scotland in the eighteenth century when Prince Charles Edward, with a 30,000 pounds reward on his head, must escape the clutches of England.

Diarmad Ramsey made a promise to his dying father. He will carry out the mission his older brother Cainnech was to have done. His father says, “Do it for clan honor.”

It is not just highly preferred, but is also considered more effective than levitra price http://robertrobb.com/killian-should-resign-from-the-regents/ and Sildenafil. They even go so far cialis 80mg as to say this. Dairmad sets out on the “ill-fated scheme” with his guide Mara, a young woman whose family had been murdered. Her loyalty to “The Cause,” makes Diarmad think she is in love with Prince Charles Edward.

Diarmad is a decoy. He looks much like the prince and is supposed to lead the British away from the real Prince Charles Edward, a man he hates.

British soldiers and Scot renegades make life miserable for Diarmad and Mara, as does the cold, the rain, and the lack of shelter they must endure. Neither of them expects to get out of the mission alive.

Things looked hopeless. How the author makes their narrow escapes believable keeps one turning pages. Laura Strickland does know how to weave an attention-keeping story together with elements that make the reader feel right there with the characters.

The sweet reading is the love and the love scenes that are sprinkled throughout the difficult journey. Mara loves this ‘beautiful, maddening, heroic devil of a man,” and Diarmad loves Mara, yet there is someone back home he thinks about that gives him pause.

Once back home, Diarmad has the weight of being the new laird of his clan—a clan hit hard by all the warring that has taken place. Duty and desire have him conflicted.  Mara’s heart breaks in a thousand pieces. She plans to leave.

To tell how the author resolves this conflict would be a spoiler. I’ll just say Laura Strickland does a masterful job of keeping all the characters ‘in character,’ gives some really ‘bad guys’ their comeuppance, and manages to give more than one couple a happy-ever-after

Highland historical novels are one of my favorites. Honor Bound was a joy to read.

Nick Keegan is a veteran FBI agent on the trail of one of the century’s most prolific and graphic serial killers. Initially the scenes stack up and there are very few clues, modifications to the ViCAP database reveal scores of more victims all attributed to this one serial killer.

Chaos is an amazing story about a veteran FBI agent and a startling veteran serial killer. When their two paths meet, chaos ensues. Right from the beginning the reader will be immersed in detail and graphic visualizations of both the crime scenes and the deep lives of the characters. The author does an astounding job at plotting the backstory for each character and interweaving it through from past to present. Everyone has scars to bear and a history that adds depth and complexity to the overall story.

The great plot, deep backstories and strong descriptions make the world of the characters become immersive for the reader. It is advisable that the reader have some background in the criminal justice world when reading the book since there are many acronyms and descriptions that can be difficult and may detract from the overall enjoyment of the story if the reader is not familiar. This is not anything that cannot be looked up easily on the internet, but it may bother some readers. Also, the graphic descriptions of the deaths of victims and in some instances the torture of victims may disturb some readers. Do not let the high number of pages dissuade reading, the text in the electronic version of the book is very large, which makes reading very easy on the eyes, but makes for a higher page count then one would normally see.

Overall, Chaos was a fantastic read and one that you do not want to miss. Be aware though, the deep psychology and human nature portion of the book may make it so that you have a difficult time falling asleep at night!

Now, not only is she facing the beasts that turned her, but also the one slayer that’s given her nightmares. A slayer that was once her best friend. All of that just as she’s taking her first steps into the arms of the man she loves.

Though the title says book one of Fiona Wesley at the end of the story it states that this is a retelling of the The Damned from Fiona’s point of view and that this book is roughly three-quarters of the original. This may explain why I was lost and felt that something was missing while reading.

Regardless that the story is written well with good editing, the plot seemed to be all over the place. The story starts with Fiona tracking a Damned in San Francisco, then back home to learn Geneva is being hunted. Soon the focus was on her attraction to Mads. Then The Ripper (Tuck) is introduced. Tuck is someone Fiona used to know. And then Geneva’s and Fiona’s past is told through a flashback. Before the sudden ending Fiona is having relations with Mads. See? Kind of random.

I found the book a struggle to follow but that can mostly be attributed to the face that there was more telling and than actual action. The story isn’t a total loss, though. For someone who is a fan, who follows the author’s series, it’s likely the story line will be an easy one to follow. The author does a good job of defining and explaining the various types of vampire classification names such as Damned, slayer, vampyr and strigoi. The story is short but has several characters and each seems to have their own back story in how they were turned and what happened afterward.

Despite the fact that this isn’t one that I would necessarily re-read, it is written very well and the ending leaves potential in continuing Fiona’s story. A reader who enjoys a close knit vampire family will be sure to enjoy this interesting start of a series.

Collin knows hiring her is a bad idea-they disagree about almost everything-but Addison is so good with little Chloe. And there’s no substitute for chemistry, right?

An interesting array of characters in Reckless Hearts had me eager to read how they matured and progressed from troubled, somewhat directionless, characters to characters with purpose and the ability to face and overcome conflicts constructively.

Chloe, nine-month-old daughter of Collin, is the most delightful part of the story. She is like the sun that the other characters orbit around. She seems to be the one thing in all their lives that brings happiness.

Addison, Chloe’s nanny, and Collin are the hero and heroine of Reckless Hearts. They are drawn to each other sexually but never seem to quite connect mentally, spiritually, or with deep emotion—and I didn’t get the feeling trust was established.

Their sexual encounters are somewhat like exhibitions in some instances—in pickup bed at drive in movie, on a slide in public park, etc. The sex scenes are often, not very romantic, and somewhat repetitive.

Collin and Addison mature in some ways, but some of the conflicts in their lives are not resolved, even though they have arisen often in the story.

The other characters, Colin’s sister Lia, and his military buddies and friends Max and Gavin, are pretty much the same conflicted characters at the end of the story as they were in the beginning. The many loose ends when the story ended made the story seem incomplete.

The story is told from Collin’s and Addison’s point of view with the author announcing the change in POV every time. This style of writing made me feel like an observer rather than being in the moment with what is happening with the characters.

I would have loved more in-depth knowledge of these interesting characters and fewer sex scenes.

Pressured to get at the truth about some strange happenings at Melody House, he agrees to let Harrison Investigations explore the house. But he isn’t ready for beautiful, intriguing Darcy Tremayne.

As a paranormal investigator, Darcy has learned to believe in the unbelievable. And she’s given Matt fair warning: sometimes people don’t like the skeletons she finds. She never dreamed that the warning would apply to herself. For she’s about to discover that Melody House holds much more than a simple mystery form the distant past. What it holds is a very real and lethal danger, one that will cast her into a struggle against the worlds of both the living and the dead.

I love a gripping mystery with a convincing dose of romantic complications to make things interesting. This is my first foray into the writing of Ms. Graham and I think I made a lucky pick because this book knocked my socks off. Talk about an edge of your seat mystery where anyone or anything could be the killer. Is the killer a ghost? A disturbed entity from the town’s many onsite battles come to right a wrong? Enter an intrepid paranormal investigator with a past as fascinating as any ghost. Darcy is not a typical heroine and I was completely enthralled. When I first met her as a teenager, my sympathies were engaged almost immediately. They were firmly in her corner right after the funeral. The rest is a journey like no other.

Matt, the sheriff and male lead opposite Darcy is a facts man. He doesn’t believe in the paranormal and is a firm believer that everything can be explained by science, and usually a human is behind any crime. But he was forced to admit something weird was going on so he called a good friend in for help. First, he didn’t expect Darcy in place of his friend; his reaction was fun to watch. Second, the poor guy had a real hard time coming to grips that maybe, just maybe, his house wasn’t as safe and benign as he believed. Watching him slowly face the unimaginable was both painful and kind of funny, in a dark kind of way. He liked Darcy, but didn’t want to; he trusted her but didn’t and he wanted to believe her and in her, but that meant that he has to accept that he, as sheriff, and a take charge alpha male, did not have all the answers. Not only that, but you can’t cuff a ghost. Poor Matt. He was a bit discombobulated. The plot sure got interesting when he could sink his law teeth into something he could understand and deal with, but it wasn’t enough to solve the mystery. There was more, much more to come and I was glued to this book’s pages.

I enjoyed the slow buildup of tension, the red herrings and the challenge of trying to figure out just what or who could be behind all the weirdness at Melody House. I liked meeting all the secondary characters and Ms. Graham imbued her cast with unique and individual characteristics that contributed to the feel and flow of the novel. By the time I read three fourths of the book, I finally had an inkling as to a possible motive, victim and culprit. I was right on only one account which meant I was taken by surprise. I loved it!

Another treat were the sparks that ignite between Matt and Darcy. Of course it reached a flashpoint and their coming together was ever so satisfying. It wasn’t smooth, easy or without its bumps but it sure was romantic and passionate. Eventually, Matt comes around and a happy ever after is guaranteed. It’s who helped Matt past that final hurdle in believing that made me sniffle a time or two. I was filled with a lot of emotions at that point and I credit that to the excellent writing skill of Ms. Graham.

If readers have yet to discover Ms. Graham, then they are missing out. I was missing out. No more. Haunted has whet my appetite for more books by this author. This was an amazing read that’s made an indelible impression and I can’t wait to read more. I can wholeheartedly recommend this novel to romantic suspense/mystery readers everywhere. It’s a winner.

Will the realities of life shatter Abigail’s holiday daydream? Or can the shifting sands of a short-term fling become the rock on which a life-long relationship is built?

Ms Margriet weaves three different journeys together in her story No Life But This. The two emotional journeys experienced by her hero and heroine, as well as a third for her readers as experienced through mainly her heroine, but also from her hero’s point of view.

I have never visited the Azores, but now feel that I would recognize the destination her heroine, Abigail, chose to visit soon after her mother’s death. The scene setting is full vibrancy and detail and strung with garlands of emotional highs and lows. Ms Margriet sets challenges for her heroine that many readers might balk at, and yet can rejoice in for Abigail’s expanding courage and burgeoning self-belief. I kinda wished I’d been on that tour.

The secondary characters that were her adventure holiday companions help to highlight each step in the changes that Abigail encounters. They all played an integral part in the story without intruding upon the main characters.

Santos, along with his sister and mother run an activities tour holiday company and can’t understand his instant attraction to the shy and retiring single member of this week’s holiday guests. He never has an affair with any of his clients so why was this one different?

There is a solid underlying back-story of family loyalty and their consequences. It is these consequences that are responsible for the journeys taken by Abigail and Santos.

The writing is fluent, the sex scenes are spicy, the characters well rounded. The scene setting left me wanting to visit the Azores. And I finished the story in one setting feeling well satisfied and content at the outcome and the way this author presented it.
