Charlotte Stein’s work is always hot. I mean, burn your fingers as you read hot. Telling Tales is no exception. The writing is, for the most part, tight – there are a few hiccups and places I had to reread, but nothing big.

From an erotic point of view, this is a great book. There’s a lot of sex. A lot of sex. Experimentation and giving in to desire abounded on every page. If you want hot, then this is the book.

I tend to want a little more plot with my erotic elements and this book seemed a bit lacking. I never really got to know the characters or what drove them. All the time in bed trumped character development. I wanted to know more about Cameron’s submissive side or how they got to the ending I completely didn’t see coming. I like rich descriptions and I didn’t seem to get them.

Still, I enjoyed Telling Tales. It’s rich with eroticism and sexual adventure. Yes, Telling Tales is a good book. There is a boatload of heat. If you want a book that’s heavy on the sex and the escapism, then this might be the book for you.

When the cousin tricks Jamie into betraying his wife, he’ll have to prove the truth or lose her forever.

One crazy condition in order to inherit a fortune – would you marry for money?

I like books that have conventions and traditions that are being thrown out the window. Clare is supposed to marry in order to inherit a fortune. Where others might balk, she agrees. Jamie is the man in question and he also agrees–but he’s got ulterior motives.

As much as I liked this book, I wasn’t keen on some of Jamie’s motives. He wants to fix his house. He wants her to become someone she’s not. I get the conventions of the times. A woman should obey her husband. She should be submissive to him and agree to what he wants. I also get that the influx of women being stronger and more forthright is a bit of a modern convention. But as much as Clare isn’t a conventional woman, she does succumb to a conventional means to find a husband. I guess I expected more from her and Jamie.

That said, these two characters are quite well matched. Jamie might have had other plans, but I liked how Clare did come into her own. The heat between them is palpable once they sorted out what they each wanted and I enjoyed reading it.

If you want a solid historical, then The Bride Insists might be what you’re looking for.

What better disguise for a secret agent than that of a courtesan?

Lily Dawson, dubbed the Countess of Charm, is a spy working for the Crown to uncover a traitor.

Andrew Booth-Payne, Earl of Darlington, wants to hate Lily for taking up with his father, but something about Lily intrigues him.

When he discovers there is more to her flirtation than greed, he knows he must help her uncover a traitor. Even if that traitor is his own father…

Yes! Sapphires are an Earl’s Best Friend is Regency rife with romance, risks, rage, and risqué romps—perfect for a book in the Diamonds series by Shana Galen.

Lily Dawson, the Countess of Charm, is one of the Three Diamonds know in London Society as courtesans and Impures. They keep their secrets well just like Countess Sinclair taught them. They have a certain reputation yet still influence styles and manners in many ways. The other two Diamonds, Fallon and Juliette have found their happy-ever-after with men of note, but Lily continues her work as a spy for the Crown.

She uses her training well and takes the reader right along with her as she (so to speak) steps into the lion’s den to find the traitor that plots to get the elite super spies called the Diamonds in the Rough assassinated.

Lily knows her way about the mean streets of London. She’s been there and survived the worst, but at Ravenscroft Castle (the lion’s den) she is walking a tightrope as she searches for evidence, charms the disgusting old Duke of Ravenscroft, and tries to get passed her longtime love for the Earl of Darlington, the old Duke’s son. If you’ve read the two previous books in this series, you will probably remember how Lily has felt about Andrew, the Earl of Darlington, and that he only had eyes for Juliette, one of the other Diamonds.

Since I’d read the two previous books, I was eager to get to this one. Shana Galen does not disappoint. Sapphires are an Earl’s Best Friend sparkles, shimmer, and shine with intrigue, danger, suspense, humor, and LOVE.

Andrew, Earl of Darlington, has sown his wild oats in London Society, has pined over Juliette, and is now faced with his emerging feelings about Lily who has an agenda that could ruin his family name or maybe even worse—send the Crown into a rage over Andrew’s family’s activities. All at once, he has some ‘grownup’ issues to face since he will one day be Duke of Ravencroft.

When Lily and Andrew get entangled with two evil, desperate antagonists, there is breath-holding, goose bump raising action.

The sensual, caring love scenes show a new facet of both Lily and Andrew’s personalities that is new to even them. The reader gets a special vicarious experience as both the hero and heroine discover what true love is.

Shana Galen writes Regency romance with just enough setting to keep the reader grounded in the era. She creates characters that bring the history to life as they make their way through the uneasy times. Her unique, compelling writing style propels the reader along with the characters as they weave their way through twists and turns of events, both good and bad, before the hero and heroine find their happy-ever-after. Suspenseful, superb entertainment!

Now that it’s nothing but ash, the tentative peace among warring factions is starting to crumble. The last thing he wants to do is put Claudia in danger, but he also knows there’s no way he can let her go…

Anthony and Claudia’s story is one that merges the paranormal and real world seamlessly. At times I felt as if vampires, shifters and wizards could really exist, because the story just seemed so natural.

Anthony may not be human any longer, but his still seems to have may human traits. Compassion and kinship are two of the strongest traits he seems to exhibit in this story. It is also what drives him to pursue Claudia, as well as try to bring the paranormal world together. There was one thing I did find contradictory about his life, and that is bits of his past. They mention his killing of humans in the past and allude to the fact that it was in some cases a choice and not out of necessity. This seems to go against everything Anthony is in modern day. Other than that I absolutely enjoyed him.

Claudia is a great character and person. I love the personality flaws she has such as alcoholism because it made her that much more real to me. She seems to struggle with herself, but not her need to help others and care for them. It is what helps me understand why Anthony wants her so badly and makes me want to best for her.

The plotline of this story was truly entertaining. I have to admit that I have not read a book so quickly in a long time because I just could not put it down. This story offered the complete package, from internal conflicts, antagonist, intriguing subplots, and a remarkable supporting character list. Ruxandra, Anthony’s psycho ex-girlfriend and Gaia a.k.a. mother earth are only a few of the characters who stole my heart. Hands down this was an entertaining read and one I would highly recommend.

I love a good Carolyn Brown book and this one is no miss. It’s a hit. The writing is crisp and full of emotion. The characters are charismatic and have issues which make them easy to relate to.

Emily wants to help her dying grandfather so she goes to the woman he loves. The letters he’s been sending never quite made it to Clarice. I loved this story arc. The letters that never made it. Very romantic. I also liked this plot device to get Emily and Greg, the grandson of Clarice, together.

The great thing about this story is the sparks. I definitely felt the sparks between Clarice and her soldier. Those sparks continue with Greg and Emily. They don’t think they should be together, but karma knows otherwise. I liked seeing them spar. They played off each other quite well and made me feel like I was right there in the room with them.

The heat in this book  is fantastic. I felt their steam and loved reading about them working through their issues. I can’t say how things work out, but it’s definitely worth the read.

I like a good book with kink. I want a book that’s going to stay with me long after I’m done reading. I picked up the latest by Charlotte Stein knowing I’d be in for one heck of a hot ride. I wasn’t disappointed. The characters have lots of wicked sexy times and are human–you can totally understand what the heroine is feeling and why.

I have to admit though, I’m not wild about books in the first person narrative style. I like knowing how everyone feels. Madison is a complex heroine. Part of her knows what she wants and part of her doesn’t. That’s rather nice because she shows that regular people aren’t always self-assured. She did seem to flip-flop a tad bit much for my taste, but that’s me.

The push-pull factor of this book is good. Again, I got to know Madison and why she couldn’t really decide on what she wanted. It was interesting and the sex scorched.

Asher MacGregor has returned from years wandering the Canadian wilderness to assume an earldom he’s avoided, and to seek a bride he does not want. He’s saddled with an additional family obligation in the form of Boston heiress Hannah Cooper, whom he is to escort about the London ballrooms so she might find an English husband.

Hannah is no more interested in settling in Britain than Asher is in returning to the New World, and yet their sympathy for one another soon turns to passion. With Hannah anxious to return to the family she’s trying to protect in Boston, and Asher bound to his earldom in the Highlands, they must trust in love to span an ocean of differences and difficulties.

“If grief had a landscape, it would be these highlands.” By the time I read this sentence in the novel, I felt as if I were roaming those brooding, enduring mountains with Asher and Hannah as they grieved for what they believed cannot be. The strong emotion Grace Burrowes has built into these two compelling characters by this time in the novel had me immersed in their heartbreaking situation.

The vicarious experience the reader has with Asher MacGregor, the Earl of Balfour and Hannah Cooper, a rich Bostonian young woman with a scheming step-father is full of all the rituals, taboos and social pitfalls found in the Victorian Age of England. The meddling and determination of older generation members of their respective families thread through the tapestry of the story in a muted color yet ever present and at work.

The strength of character of the hero and heroine added to the back story of what each of them has endured before they met makes a strong foundation for their persevering and being successful even though it seems for page after page of the novel it will be at the expense of their own happiness. Anxiety builds to a climax that showcases just how strong love can be in the face of adversity.

Grace Burrowes has a remarkable ability to bring the environment to life. The scents and sounds, even the feel and look of the soot from the foul smelling coal seem real. However, her special talent for developing strong, memorable characters is the very best part of her novels. Even the secondary characters have unique personalities that make a reader think they all have stories of their own that would be interesting to know.

MACGREGOR’S LADY is replete with family members, many of whom readers will recognize if they’ve read other Regency or Victorian novels by Grace Burrowes. Asher’s family members the reader may recognize from THE BRIDEGROOM WORE PLAID and ONCE UPON A TARTAN.

The powerful Duke and Duchess of Moreland, from the Windham series, in their not too subtle way salvage a touchy situation allowing the MacGregor clan and Hannah to return to their beloved highlands for the little time Hannah and Asher have together. Hannah feels she must sail back to Boston to face the wrath of her step-father in an effort to make live a little easier for the family she loves and that he abuses.

Neither Asher MacGregor nor Hannah Cooper has it in their nature to grab for their own happiness at the expense of their families. Duty to and love for their families which are an ocean apart wrecks havoc on both their hearts. How Grace Burrowes brings about a happy-ever-after keeps the reader in suspense to the very end but so worth waiting for. Especially good reading!

Lord Dashiell promised himself long ago that his friendship with Vivienne would be the one relationship with a woman that he wouldn’t ruin. He agrees to help her just to keep the little hothead safe, but soon finds that Vivienne has grown up to be very, very dangerous to all of Dash’s best intentions.

Being good can be so hard when being wicked comes naturally.

Ms. Vivienne Taylor is not prim and proper as other young ladies of the ton are. Though she’s just a craftsmen daughter she still strives to marry someone with wealth and be the perfect wife. With the help of her aunt, all she wants is to secure a good marriage and help her father with his troubles. When the perfect man purposes, Vivienne and her aunt are elated. Then Vivienne’s secret childhood friend and neighbor returns from his travels abroad and threatens her good girl behavior.

Lord Dashiell is a rake of the highest degree! A jet setter of his time, he never stays in one place too long and uses his love of history as an escape for anything important. Until little Vivienne reenters his life as a full grown, beautiful woman in need of his help. The two then become entangled in a mystery that is both devastating and hilarious at times. All the while Vivienne is promising to be perfect and Lord Dashiell is tempting her to misbehave. When they both give in their lust ignites the page and you just want more.

I have to applaud Susanna Ives for her work in Wicked Little Secrets. I have never, ever laughed so hard or swooned so much while reading a historical romance. The secondary characters were amazing additions to this tale of love and betrayal and secrets and lies. Vivienne was a lovely change of pace from the typical women we sometimes read about because she was simply wild in her thoughts and feelings. And while Lord Dashiell was a typical rake, his character was diverse enough to keep me locked in.

I read this book in one sitting because I simply couldn’t put it down. The mystery that Ms. Ives weaves was fantastic and had me guessing until the very end. To be able to meld the vivid characters and complex scheme as this author did earned her a Best Book in my eyes. If you love historical romances, then this book is a must!

Though they share a bond they keep secret, Gabby must stand by and watch as Anthony goes on with his life, hoping one day they will be together.

Now that Gabby is of marriageable age, Anthony realizes that Gabby is the woman he needs to complete him. He proposes to her before running off to find something that has been lost to him. When he doesn’t return on the expected date and has not sent any word, Gabby knows that she has let her heart lead her decisions long enough.

Once Anthony returns home he finds his rival is set on his woman! Bets are being made within the ton on who will throw the first punch. Lord Throne, though has a history of being a rake, is determined to win Gabby’s affections and her hand.

The rest of the book centers around the two men in a somewhat epic battle for Gabby and all the while Gabby is battling her own feelings. When desperate times call for desperate measures, Gabby must face her fears and make her choice.

I felt the internal struggles the main protagonists worked through were compelling. I was drawn in by Lord Thorne and his motives for wanting Gabby and am looking forward to reading his story. I was a tad turned off by the happenings of Anthony’s life before he understood his feelings for Gabby but I think the end result was worth that burden they couple had to bear.

Overall it was a great love story and a wonderful historical romance I believe any book lover will enjoy.

When a royal’s intended bride is kidnapped, only a rake can set things right…

Wealthy heiress Serena Osborne feels like her father is determined to sacrifice her on the marriage altar. The Duke of Kent is negotiating for a bride, and the wickedly appealing Sir Jonah Sharp is sent to woo the Lady Serena on the Duke’s behalf. It only muddies the waters when she succumbs to Jonah’s charm. Repeatedly. But Jonah has a secret agenda—to prevent the marriage at any cost.

When Serena is kidnapped in a desperate attempt to force the royal betrothal, Jonah realizes his new agenda is to secure a bride—for himself.

What made me pick this book was the novel idea of a proper, prim and otherwise perfectly pedigreed young lady of the ton having a naughty bucket list and the determination to do it all before she’s potentially leg shackled to a royal husband. How is she going to pull it off? And what kinds of things does an innocent maiden think are decadent? It was interesting to find out.
Premature ejaculation- Premature ejaculation is somewhere to ending up cialis professional no prescription the game leaving oneself and the partner dissatisfaction in the bed. It is a truth that cheap prices for viagra your subconscious mind will think what it is told by means of repetition and reinforcement. Serena is a very strong willed and adventurous lady. Unfortunately for her, the very first time she tries to check an item off of her list, she gets found out, gets covered in some type of orange cream and ends up enlisting the aid of a very rakish gentleman. The book only gets more madcap and interesting from there. I think the authors had a fun time torturing the heroine.

A lot of the meatiest torture comes from the internal angst felt by the hero, Sir Jonah Sharp. His is not an altruistic interest at all and the reasons for that slowly come to light as the story gets told. At first he’s more like a puppet dancing to someone else’s tune. But as with all good romance stories, love gives the hero a different kind of conflict and the motivation to find a way out of the mess he’s gotten himself into.

The threats against their relationship notwithstanding, the romance experiences baby steps in growth, most happening when Lady Serena’s endeavors go awry and the hero sees a side of the heroine he never expected. She’s a woman with brains, fortitude and a sense of fun not to mention a devious interest in all things sensual. When the two of them get together in various levels of sensuality, touches and seduction, it made for entertaining reading.

Dialogue both external and internal, between the main or secondary characters seemed to fit, kept the plot moving and revealed key insights into the hero and heroine when needed.

Although Serena is as strong a woman as she can be for the times, she still does something that smacked of cliché. I almost wanted to give up reading the book at that point because I knew it was going to happen and I really hoped it wouldn’t. And yet, it did and despite that, I kept reading because the authors hooked me enough with the conflict that I needed to find out how in the world it was going to work out. I’m glad I did because what happened at the family estate was nothing short of surprising. Granted, Serena’s pleas to Jonah didn’t impress me and I rolled my eyes at that point but otherwise it was a satisfying resolution to the dilemma. The author’s wrap up sentences regarding that choice made it clear that many other characters in the story did find the solution more than adequate. I guess I’m outnumbered.

The authors did provide a wonderful happy ever after to round out the adventure. In fact it could be said what goes around, comes around and it was rather humorous. An interesting tidbit is the final page where the authors shared with readers the history and inspiration behind this story and the previous two. I hadn’t read the others and did not feel I was missing anything in this current tale. This is most definitely a standalone read.

Between a Rake and a Hard Place is not only a clever book title, it’s a devious and unique story and a fun romance. Historical romance fans will find many things to delight them because Serena is just so unusual. Jonah might be a rake in the beginning but he’s a man who knows his own mind and I greatly enjoyed the scene with Serena’s father. That showed me Jonah’s strength of character. I was entertained by this novel, and for readers looking for a romance with a little light drama that is mostly character driven, this might be the book to read.
