This doesn’t sit well with investigative journalist Mackenzie Stone. They must be hiding something . . . and she’s determined to find out what.

Keeping Mac at a distance proves impossible for SWAT team commander Gage Dixon. She’s smart, sexy, and makes him feel alive for the first time in years. But she’s getting dangerously close to the truth—and perilously close to his heart…

Do you enjoy strong alpha werewolves? If so then this book is for you. It is full of sexy shifters and packed with action. This book gives us Gage and Mackenzie’s story. Gage leads the other alphas on his team and I loved seeing how they all connected and worked together. Mackenzie is a strong female and I enjoyed seeing their relationship play out. This is a nice start to a new series by Paige Tyler and I cannot wait to see where she takes the characters and their world next.

Mackenzie is determined to break the story she knows is hiding behind the men on the Dallas SWAT team. Right from the start Mackenzie and Gage have an attraction that burns up the pages but could her snooping put Gage and his men in more danger? When Gage finds himself at a crossroads what will he do? Can he have both the one woman made for him and the safety of his pack or has that question already become null and void? I enjoyed the banter and the camaraderie between all the men. Each character is special in their own way and has so much to say. I cannot wait to see their stories play out.

Both Gage and Mackenzie must make hard and deep life changing decisions. Love and emotions war with the truth and secrets in this story. As Mackenzie and Gage try to sort through their feelings, danger lurks in the shadows. A mobster intent on revenge against Gage and his team brings more trouble to their world and pulls Mackenzie in as well. I am not a big fan of Mackenzie and the way she treated Gage and the other men after she discovers their secret. She does do right by them but the way she first handles it makes her seem cold and indifferent to the man she loves.

This is a fast paced, action packed story full of emotions. It was nice to see Gage and Mackenzie’s relationship grow from attraction to so much more. I enjoyed my first visit to this world through their story and hope that we get to see more from these men in the future.

When Huntley and Melissa find two jaguar shifter cubs snoozing in their jungle hut while on assignment, they have to keep the cubs and each other safe from ruthless poachers, bringing these partners closer in ways they never expected…

You also don’t have to worry about false tadalafil professional cheap starts because the movies work first time every time. Food, books, music – nearly everything that can be bought is purchased buying tadalafil tablets http://hartbuildersinc.com/html/outdoor.html over the Internet. When it comes to love generic viagra on line men can not resist its sale. We all have listened canadian pharmacy for cialis as the top most treatment for ED problems; Kamagra is a generic version of this medicine and contains the same ingredient of it. I really enjoyed how the author mixed up danger, exotic locations and romance with babysitting. The blurb only hints at the humor the story delivers when Huntley and Melissa try child care for the first time without any preparation or warning. What made it exceptionally challenging was the babies were part time furry jaguar cubs and potty time sure kept the hero and heroine hopping. Talk about a litmus test for parenthood!

Ms. Spear incorporated a lot of humor in her current adventure, Jaguar Pride. Some occasions were moments of lighthearted dialogue between Melissa and Huntley, and others were generated by watching two very capable and lethal agents turn to mush and being susceptible to the cuteness inherent in babies, human or cat, making the lead characters very human, relatable and interesting.

The bad guys are vile just by the nature of their activities. Kidnapping big jungle cats for profit is bad enough, but dealing with baby critters too is outright mean. The author made it very clear that poachers are to be reviled and are villains which, for the most part, are unable to be redeemed. I think the author was a bit heavy handed with dispatching the poachers left and right but in doing so reminds me of something I read at some point. I paraphrase, “Never get an author mad, she/he will write you into a book as a villain and give you your just desserts.” If that’s the case, well, no poacher should EVER cross Ms. Spear.

Most secondary characters were written well and supported Melissa and Huntley’s mission. At times, the flow of events seemed too smooth and orchestrated but the end result is what’s important. I believe the two guys from the Avenger branch were introduced to entice interest for future heroes. It didn’t quite work for me because they were too one dimensional and convenient. Perhaps in the future readers will get a better hint as to their hero-worthiness. As it is, I liked Everett a whole lot better.

I consider Oliver a red herring, Genista a clarifier and the local police as part-time comic foils. It’s a very busy book but no matter who is on stage, a reader is never left in doubt this is a solid standalone read about Melissa and Huntley falling in love during a mission. I really liked the chemistry between them and for readers who like falling in love to have a physical presence, Ms. Spear provides many opportunities for satisfaction.

Jaguard Pride is a nail biter of an adventure. It’s steamy, humorous and chock-full of action to keep readers at the edge of their seats. Even though the topic is serious, the story isn’t dark. The author focuses on the optimistic side of life even while dealing harshly with the dirty underbelly of poaching. It’s a difficult balance but Ms. Spear pulls it off, providing readers with a thoroughly gripping novel. It’s another winner.

Sophie Wells is a successful photographer with a focus on putting the past firmly behind her. When Josh Strachan returns to the seaside town of Cornwall from the States to run his family’s hotel, he can’t understand why the fun, sexy girl has zero interest in letting him-or any man for that matter-into her life. I always think the first and last book you read each year should be extra special so I’m glad I got to read this new one from Jill Mansell. I’ll admit I’ve never disliked any of her stories and this one was no exception.

If you’ve never read anything by the author let me start by saying if you love sometimes quirky and not your run of the mill characters, you’ll enjoy the author’s writing. This particular story is also filled with tears, laughter, and generally puts a smile on your face on a cold winter’s day.

I loved all the characters but have to say I did find myself longing for more scenes with the hero Josh. He’s kind and honest and you share his frustration when Sophie isn’t showing any interest in him. You feel yourself shouting at the pages, saying Sophie, this guy’s perfect for you.

However, part of the enjoyment of reading this story grows from the author’s clever plotting of having everyone else wanting someone they can’t have or someone who only has eyes for someone else. It has you turning the pages to find out if Ms. Mansell was kind enough to give everyone the happy ending you craved. Sometimes things didn’t work out but I found myself reading the last sentence of the book with a smile on my face.

One added bonus for me was the setting of Cornwall. It’s mostly mysteries or romantic suspense stories I see set there so this was a nice change of pace. The author did a great job describing it and the hotel that Josh runs. Despite its 400 plus pages, this story clips along at a steady pace and is sadly done before you realize it.

If like me you take extra time selecting that first or last book of any year, I’d recommend this one.

Three stories of hot doctor loving and so much more.

The writing in this book flows well. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. Yes, there are three individual stories here, but they have a central connection and great lessons for the heroines to learn. Ms Allure wrote characters I could cheer for and wanted to know more about.

At times, the stories were little more than erotic fluff but I didn’t mind. Sometimes that’s what I want–to be able to escape into the world of the characters and have fun. This book was definitely about fun.

Of the three stories, I enjoyed Seize the Doctor the best. From the start, I felt the steam billowing around Nikki and Court. They wanted each other beyond the initial contact and had me rooting for them right away. This story is guaranteed to melt your reader screen.

If you want stories that are hot and fun, then this might be the book for you.

Sounds odd to read that, doesn’t it? Sinfully Ever After is one of those rare books that is nothing like I expected and so much better. Yes, Rebecca, the heroine, comes off as a little much. She’s very modern for her times, but I liked that. She was freer than the other characters. I liked her spunk.

I don’t know a whole lot about historicals. I’m not looking for nitpicky details. I want to get lost in the story. That said, I get a little irritated with the conventions that because someone kissed in public, the couple must be engaged, but I understand. It was the convention of the time. The way Ms Fresina handled the situation was great. I felt the passion between Luke and Rebecca instantly and wanted to see them get their happy ending.

If you want a story that will grip you from page one and won’t let go until far after the end, then this might be the book for you. I enjoyed it a lot.

The Countess of Aberford is determined to make a match for her sister, Lady Alice Emerson, but each man she brings to Thornbrook Park only inflames Alice’s improper interest in unsuitable Logan Winthrop, a rugged man once accused of murdering his great rival.

Logan’s determined to shelter himself from the pain of unrequited love—he knows the feeling all too well—but something about Alice stirs his desire to start living again. Though they fight their urges, the pair can only resist for so long; eventually they must choose between bowing to society’s rules or breaking them…

An Affair Downstairs is surprisingly, delightfully, unpredictable. Between the cover and the title, one might well be forgiven for suspecting the storyline, but this is not the case.

England 1907: and Miss Alice Emerson is not quietly going along with family efforts to marry her off: oh, no. Alice has her own list of things she wants out of life, and marrying successfully is not one of them. She’s a very singular character for her time period. Loads of leading ladies long to marry the wrong fellow, while Alice really just wants a lover and a life of adventure.

Of course, she’s not worried about falling in love, is she?

Her family wants no part in that plan. Her Countess sister is hell-bent to be a successful matchmaker. Logan, the rather ‘fallen’ son of a baron is both not-suitable and (although interested) not the sort to ruin someone’s chances to make a good marriage. He might be attractive for a host of physical reasons, but he’s not going to allow himself to give in to simple attraction. He’s a thoughtful man, and is acutely aware of his own reduced circumstances, regardless of his heritage.

Then there is always the good man; dutiful, reliable… still not what Alice wanted.

An Affair Downstairs is warm; in fact, its surprisingly heartfelt. Readers will sympathize with Alice, but truly fall, head-over-heels, for Logan. All the characters seem very real. Each has goals, expectations and disappointments.

There is a rather steamy moment in this, but well-suits the plot and there is more sexual tension than activity.

Fans of historical romance will find An Affair Downstairs entirely satisfying.

Things done in high school come back to haunt as preparations for a tenth year class reunion begin. Suspense, terror, tension, anxiety, and fear have the characters, both good and bad, on edge.

The sizzle and spice in the rising of their passion is woven into the story so the reader feels the ebb and flow of it until the storm of desire and love takes over.

The antagonist, so treacherous, is a cunning, smart killer in the beginning. But, as things accelerate, this once creative killer gets reckless, vicious, and determined to have what he/she wants regardless of the cost. The terrifying climax is breath-holding.

Rebecca York, after laying the ground work, sets the reader in the midst of a plot that bubbles like a hot cauldron with suspense, intrigue, and incredible love. The plot propels the readers along with secretive characters and action that keep the tension high.

While PRIVATE AFFAIR starts off in a somewhat ordinary setup, it does not stay that way. It picks up momentum and keeps a reader’s senses engaged with well developed characters and a plot that takes the reader on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

New attorney Hannah Stark agrees to spend six months helping out in the family law department, though an upbringing as a foster child has left her determined never to set foot in a domestic relations courtroom.

Trenton Knightley, the law firm’s family law expert, is equally determined that business and pleasure can’t mix. Hannah finds herself working with Trent on one tough case after another, and grows less and less pleased with her vocation. Trent, however, is increasingly impressed with Hannah–and not simply for her courtroom skills.

Hannah Stark is a single mother, and a lawyer in need of a job. She’s just interviewed for a corporate law position at the Knightley brothers’ firm, and did very well. She is about to be offered a job, but circumstances in the firm require that she work for six months in Family Law to fill a void, and then move to corporate. As a product of (or perhaps, a victim of) the system, the last thing Hannah wants is to work in Family Law, but she is desperate, and has a child to support, so she accepts. This department is run by Trenton Knightley, who is one of the owners, and is also a divorced father.

Due to a misconception on her part, Hannah gets off to a bit of a rocky start with her new boss, but in no time, her work ethic impresses him. Despite his own misgivings, Trent finds himself very attracted to Hannah, and tries to pursue a personal relationship. It’s clear from the start that Trent is one of the good guys. He had a very bad first marriage, and he feels somewhat awkward about being in the position of being Hannah’s boss, so he tries to take things slowly. He exhibits a lot of patience and understanding with the very skittish Hannah. Although she’s a mother, it’s obvious that Hannah doesn’t have a lot of experience, and that experience doesn’t make her want to jump into a relationship. But she finds herself falling for Trent despite herself. So while she battles her past, her current job that literally makes her ill, and a jealous and vindictive co worker intent on destroying her, it doesn’t look like a happy ever after will come easily to Hannah.

Both Hannah and Trent are sympathetic characters, and they have a lot in common. They don’t have a good track record in past relationships, and they’re both dedicated single parents. They’re honorable people, and while Trent is more willing to take the plunge, Hannah’s sad past holds her back. It’s good to see Trent’s love finally free her. This book is a departure for Grace Burrowes, who is well known for her historical romances. While a contemporary, this book still has her trademark warmth and depth. She must have drawn on her own experiences in Family Law to provide much of the background and details in this heartwarming story.

Kara Braden lures the reader in to share this remarkable time with two mature adults who both have their doubts about commitment and true love. Day by day and night by night they inch along with uncertainty, but with desires that keep them disturbingly aware of each other in the supposedly closed Bed and Breakfast on the Isle of Scilly off the coast of England. Both Ray Powell and Michelle Cole are off their home territory. However, Ray has the advantage of having spent much of his childhood on Scilly.

The obstacles, the maneuvering, and the humor that comes from this unforeseen visit reveal much about the characters.

Kara Braden’s charming writing style weaves in beautiful description and engages the senses while all the time pulling the reader into the intimate emotions of the hero and heroine. Financial advisor Guthrie MacNeill isn’t a complete Scrooge—he just hates the enormous cost associated with the Christmas holiday season. Needless to say, when his pack hires a party planner to decorate the castle, he’s at his wit’s end. Until Calla Stewart arrives on the scene with her mistletoe in hand.

Calla has never had a client as difficult as Guthrie, but she’s determined to give the pack a Christmas season they will never forget—no matter how much it costs. But when her ex-fiancé begins stalking her and threatening her safety, Guthrie decides to loosen his grip on the purse strings and let out his inner Highland warrior wolf to protect her.

This was a one day read. It was fun, engaging and very much a holiday story, rich in tradition and filled with awesome descriptions of what the perfect gathering would look and feel like. Throw in a romance fraught with, and plagued by, external conflicts, and it makes this tale more substantial and worth spending some time with.

Kamagra jellies buy sildenafil australia or tablets have helped thousands of men with ED and continues to benefit numerous other males with erection problems. A Highland Wolf Christmas finally tackles Guthrie. In past books, he came across as a bit prissy in my estimation. Everything relates to money and he has an eagle eyed focus on the pack’s finances. Any expenses for frivolity seem to send him into fits. So, when a party planner whose job is to spend other people’s money gets taken under the protection of the pack, it seemed the hero shouldn’t give the party planner the time of day, right? Probably, except this person isn’t just anyone, it’s Calla. She was introduced in the last book as a secondary character with a slight problem. It’s not slight any longer and she made for a surprisingly perfect partner for tightwad, Guthrie. As for the hero, he shows the reader and Calla just how much of a highland warrior he is, sword and all. Guthrie is actually quite a delicious male specimen.

Calla is a successful self-made entrepreneur with a very busy business. One of my favorite scenes between her and Guthrie is when she factually states just how much money she makes, what she’s done with it and how she keeps track of it. I got the impression the hero was practically humming with appreciation – beauty and brains are a big turn on for him it seems and it’s at that moment I believe his fate was sealed. His wolf wants her, his human brain with all its reasoning tries to resist being attracted to Calla, but by being true to herself, is too much for even the man to resist. The journey from fight to fall is entertaining.

The darkness in the novel comes from her ex fiancé, Baird. I knew from the past book that he was a trouble maker and a bit of a brat. That was the tip of the iceberg. Also, I should reassure readers that even though I refer to the previous book regarding Calla and Baird, this is a standalone read. I was introduced to them earlier, was provided hints earlier, but it is in this book that the tale gets told and secrets are revealed 100%. This story is about Guthrie and Calla and the thorn in their side, Baird. And what a thorn he is. Just when I think he’s going to have a chance at redemption, just when he’s given a chance to change or at least go a different direction, the villain earns his Bad Guy star at every turn. The author finally convinced me he was bad to the bone. Those parts were well written and quite gripping.

For readers who like spice with their romance, Guthrie is no slouch. He woos and seduces Calla to my satisfaction. The scenes worked well and were well written.

On a personal note, reading A Highland Wolf Christmas at the time I read it was a breath of fresh air. I had tried to read another book, had gotten to page 95 and nothing happened. No plot movement, no excitement, and filled with shallow characters. Ugh. It was a slow dull hamster wheel of a read and I was bored out of my skull. I tossed that one aside and picked up Ms. Spear’s book and by page 79 I was totally, completely engaged in the story, loved the characters and was already treated to a possible abduction, a car crash, a sword fight and the stirrings of some serious hot feelings between the hero and heroine, and a shattered glass of milk. Ms. Spear is a master at making me CARE for her characters and makes me WANT to read about them. I truly am grateful for the skill and art she brings to each and every one of her stories and after trying to read that other book, this current novel refreshed my appreciation of Ms. Spear’s writing. I’m a very happy reader.

That being said, when I mentioned in the first paragraph about descriptions, I wasn’t kidding. Ms. Spear wants her readers WITH her characters as they shop at the mall, as they decorate the tree, the castle, and she describes the celebrations and traditions in great detail so readers get the full effect of the holiday season among a pack of werewolves. I think she was a bit too enthusiastic for my tastes but for readers who adore and revel in intricate details of a book’s character’s lives, then those parts should make them ecstatic. As for me, I was over-holidayed. It’s like a candy cane – I will eat a piece of it but I can’t eat the whole thing in one sitting. Like that.

All in all, A Highland Wolf Christmas is a story not to miss. Not just because it is a romance about two people in my favorite werewolf pack, but because it made me happy, made me feel good and spending time finally getting to know Guthrie and Calla was an enjoyable experience. The wrap up chapter was filled with so much positive, cheery and optimistic feelings that I couldn’t help but be pleased that I’d read it. I definitely recommend this book to all paranormal romance fans, fans of Ms. Spear or anyone looking for a holiday-themed adventure. Ms. Spear delivers romance satisfaction.
