Tremaine St. Michael is firmly in trade and seeks only to negotiate the sale of some fancy sheep with the Earl of Bellefonte. The earl’s sister, Lady Nita, is pragmatic, hard-working, and selfless, though Tremaine senses she’s also tired of her charitable obligations and envious of her siblings’ marital bliss. Tremaine, having been raised among shepherds, can spot another lonely soul, no matter how easily she fools her own family. Neither Tremaine nor Nita is looking for love, but love comes looking for them.

Once again, Grace Burrowes delivers a captivating story set in a memorable time in England. The characters engage the reader immediately and intrigue every step of the way to a happy-ever-after that seemed impossible for a time. Ms. Burrowes’ beautiful writing, with a flavor all its own, makes this story, like her many other novels, a joy to read.

Tremaine St. Michaels, a wealthy man of commerce, uses his French title and Scottish heritage only when they serve him well, At Belle Maison, where he arrives to do business with Nichols Haddonfield, Earl of Bellefonte, he has no need of either. What he needs is all his business acumen to maneuver his way through the maze of the young Earl’s family—four single sisters and one brother. Tremaine has come to bargain for a herd of fine Merion sheep, but he soon finds himself “a person-of-interest” for more than a possible buyer of sheep.

The undercurrents of subtle humor, manipulation, loving family squabbling, and deep- seated convictions about responsibility keep Tremain’s True Love vibrating with life. The love between a man and a woman adds sizzle, as well as a fair share of anxiety, to the story as it unfolds. A, seemingly, irresolvable conflict of values about responsibility threatens to consign Lady Nita to spinsterhood and a broken-heart. How this gets untangled makes page-turning reading.

Lady Nita, the oldest of the four sisters, is a healer like her deceased mother had been. Nita managed the Belle Maison for many years after the death of her mother and tended her father during his last days. She continued to manage the household for her brother until he married. Since his marriage, Lady Nita’s energy is used on tending the sick who cannot afford the inept Dr. Horton in the village. She drives the Earl to his wits end at times. She is a strong-willed, intelligent woman, who puts herself in danger of contracting contagious diseases, as she refuses none who ask for her help.

Every character in Tremain’s True Love is attention-keeping. Each has his or her own story, making this reader hope Grace Burrowes brings each of their stories to life in still-to-come books.

This one is a keeper to enjoy more than once.

Worse, she’s put under his command and Xander’s protective instincts go on high alert. When things start heating up both on and off the clock, it’s almost impossible to keep their heads in the game and their hands off each other…

I really enjoy it when I find a book that has a new twist on werewolf physiology and a unique situation to showcase it. That’s what Wolf Trouble did for me and I fell in love with the genre all over again.

Ms. Tyler’s interpretation is clever, interesting and vastly intriguing. It’s like all of us could have hidden werewolf DNA, it just needs to be triggered. And the catalyst is on par with what romantic suspense stories are known for. What an amazing concept.

Once Xander and Khaki meet, life sure got interesting for both of them. I liked how the author presented the heroine in the first chapter. It was a pivotal moment in her life that led her to a new beginning. I also liked that the hero was so out of his element with Khaki that he simply couldn’t seem to do anything right. Because they had certain roles and responsibilities in their job description, they both tried to act like nothing was wrong and assumed the opposite about each other than what the truth was. Denial makes people do strange and crazy things so it was entertaining watching them dance oh, so carefully around their attraction. It wasn’t until they were shocked by what their noses scented, and upon realizing what it meant that they finally took a chance on sharing their true feelings. That’s when things really heated up and the fun began. It was like watching two kids in cahoots trying to pull a fast one on the adults in charge. It doesn’t work for long and I really enjoyed the whole process.

In the background is a crime spree that the SWAT team was asked to assist the FBI with. That provided the book with many a suspenseful and dramatic moment and I had a hard time putting the book down, even for something as necessary as eating. What I never expected was the loose cannon thrown into the mix. The result of which is a chapter that brought things to head. It was full of action, emotion, fast paced dialogue and a really exciting wrap up. Best of all was an HEA for a different kind of canine.

When Xander and Khaki succumb to their wolfie passions, it was fun and fascinating. The physical romance scenes were well placed throughout the book and even introduced some great moments of blushing and close calls. I enjoyed myself.

Best of all were all the yummy secondary characters. If all the guys end up finding their ONE, and are as well written asWolf Trouble, then I believe I have a lot more awesome romance books to look forward to. I loved the action, the romance, the intrigue, the meaty plot and my absolute favorite funny part in the whole book, the yoga scene. I giggled through the whole event. I enjoyed Ms. Tyler’s storytelling voice and her world building for these amazing heroes. I highly recommend Wolf Trouble to paranormal romance fans, or even fans of romantic suspense. This novel has a lot to offer both groups and I’m thrilled I read it.

M. L. Buchman, with all his acronyms, dumps the reader right in the middle of action with characters that thrive on danger, whether it is in the form of killing a deadly fire or in pulling off a death-defying rescue of people. And, oh, yes, there are secrets to keep. The author gives the reader all kinds of reasons to keep turning pages.

I’m always thrilled to catch up with Emily Beale, Mark Henderson, and many characters from previous books. They never fail to keep the reader involved in the personal, public, and secret happenings as they risk their lives to do good, day in and day out.

If you have not read previous books in M. L. Buchman’s series, Hot Point is a good one to start with, then you can go back and read earlier books about these characters that have dangerous, scary, adrenaline-pumping adventures while love finds them and invites the reader along for incredible love scenes. The humor, sometimes blatant and sometimes subtle, threads through the stories at just the right times to give the reader a breath-catching moment, before emotion-stoking action starts again. Great entertainment!

Who knew that being detailed to the point of obsession would be a turn on for a hero? It helps that he’s a control nut too but to find a woman who ‘got’ him was something the hero, Aiden, simply wasn’t ready for. Zoe blind-sided him and it was beautiful. Poor Aiden, he simply didn’t know how to let go and let someone else who wasn’t family, in. His body sure knew what to do; it just took a while for his brain to catch up. The wild winds of change challenged the hero and made this novel an easy and fun read.

I’d say that Aiden is the character with the most challenges to overcome and they’re all in his head. The family history and dynamic was fascinating. It was the history of the Shaughnessy family that helped me understand what shaped the man that Aiden has become. There’s a lot to respect about the hero and he earns every accolade given. However, he has earned other less than flattering monikers from the townspeople and I was greatly entertained. I liked that aspect of this book – that the community loves the whole Shaughnessy clan, yet they certainly aren’t blind to some of the eccentricities of some of them and that certainly applies to Aiden. There’s no doubt they are cheering for him to fall in love and Zoe is the perfect choice.

I liked Zoe because she doesn’t take any guff from the hero. She puzzles him, confounds him and inflames him, all by just being herself. I liked how she fit in with the Shaughnessy family and her dialogue and actions reflected that.

Aiden sort of runs from his feelings and avid romance readers will recognize that ploy, yet it works in this book. He has this huge chip of responsibility on his shoulders that he’s afraid to let go of. Zoe has no problem with stepping up to the plate and knocking it right off. The internal conflict that results from that is predictable but no less effective and entertaining.

The story includes some heroic acts, blossoming friendships, and a temporary canine that played a role in making the hero imagine a different kind of future, one with his own family. Only the power of the flower will know for sure. I realize that last statement was enigmatic, but it’s a powerful component of the romance.

I liked the family dynamics, the secondary characters, the dialogue and the romance. For the most part, this is a lighthearted story and it’s filled with sweetness, humor and heartfelt emotion. Made For Us is a classically styled romance that is a winner and a definite recommend.

If only you made a different choice, moved faster, slower, something, anything to change the outcome of a past event that haunts you with regret; haven’t we all experienced that? Such is the conflict that plagues the novel’s hero, Paul. Once a SEAL, always a SEAL and failure doesn’t sit well with him. The good thing about this story is that the angst doesn’t bog down the story, it just helps a reader understand what motivates the hero to make the choices he does, and why he says the things he says. In the very first chapter, not only does a reader see that, but they get a good dose of the kind of humor and quirky shenanigans Ms. Spear puts her characters through. Their first ‘rescue’ mission occurs when they come home and I found it hilarious.

Lori is the heroine and she’s a good fit for Paul. She’s strong, confident, and as hot for the hero as he is for her. The fireworks between them sizzle and pop and Ms. Spear always satisfies when she writes those sexy scenes. SEAL Wolf Hunting has plenty to thrill readers.

The secondary characters are important and helpful when they need to be to get Paul and Lori through scenes of drama, action, heartfelt introspection or just being with family and friends. The book has a good feeling about it.

I guess the only part I rolled my eyes at was the conflict regarding the cabin. Lori came across as not as smart as she thinks she is. Her “I handled it” or thinking she could handle it was so not true and eventually it took a situational 2 X 4 to make her understand how wrong she was. I found her attitude annoying and I’m so glad Paul was a man’s man and didn’t kowtow to her. Lori is a strong female lead, there’s no question about that, but she needs someone who won’t let her get away with being stupid, and Paul’s her man.

There’s a lot of good drama in the background with a crime mystery to solve to spice things up. The villains were perfectly villainous and unredeemable so what happens to them is justified.

When I said the book had a good feeling about it, I wasn’t exaggerating. What Lori does exceptionally well is build family. It was a key component to her success as a heroine. Her heart was always in the right place and I got a sense that she had a lot of love to share; Paul wasn’t the only recipient, but he sure was the best one. The happy ever after is touching, sweet and an ending that signifies a beginning. I really liked that.

SEAL Wolf Hunting was fun to read and a nice addition to the series. There’s no question it’s a standalone read so even new fans will find it enjoyable and worth checking out. It’s a definite recommend.

Rebecca Kearsey, the daughter of a threadbare viscount, is the only one who understands. However, as her desire for John begins to build, she becomes painfully aware that she isn’t considered grand enough by Polite Society to be a future marchioness. Intrigued by the idea of challenging society’s rigid values, John’s interest in Rebecca grows. But can she show him that love is more than just childish rebellion?

John Fitzhugh Barrett grew up believing he was the bastard son of some unknown-to-him nobleman. He was fostered out to a couple who took care of him, and showed him some offhand affection. His schooling was provided for, and he grew up to be a hard working, moral man. When he is approached by a half brother he never knew he had, and told that his mother was indeed legally married to his father, and he is the heir to a marquessate, his reaction is very surprising. Instead of going to the family seat, to meet his father, grandmother, and half sisters, he flees to London, where he takes up with some lowlife friends, and begins drinking, gambling, and wenching.

John could have accepted what happened to him if his family didn’t know of his existence, but they, in fact, did. His grandmother believed he was illegitimate, so she made the arrangements for his upbringing. Now, John is bitter, and has no intention of meekly following his family’s wishes. I certainly had a lot of sympathy for a young boy who doesn’t have anyone to truly love him, and who is taunted at school for being a bastard. What I initially had a hard time with, was John’s transformation to a true rake, in the worst sense of the word. After several months of this style of living, he sees Rebecca Kearsey in a museum, and is immediately captivated by her. Rebecca’s friend drags her off when John tries to talk to her without a proper introduction. Fate provides an opportunity for them to meet again, and for Rebecca to attend a house party where his scheming grandmother plans to find him a highborn bride to help ease him into society.

I liked Rebecca right from the start. She is only the daughter of an impoverished baron, so she knows she doesn’t qualify to be John’s wife, yet she is attracted to him, and decides to come to the house party to offer him guidance. Soon, it’s obvious that they both have strong feelings for each other. I absolutely adore that neither played games about hiding their feelings for each other, but I did hate that John kept telling himself he was not good enough for Rebecca because of the way he lived. He was also letting his bitterness and unforgiveness prevent his own current happiness. But then John finally starts to heal, and has the opportunity to be a hero. It was wonderful to see his eyes open, and see him start on the path to a better future.

While I don’t expect John to ever totally love his grandmother, I expect that they will at least be able to have a cordial and friendly relationship. John and Rebecca have a strong love and passion, and I envision a very happy life for them. The last part of Never Resist a Rake was full of intrigue, and interesting twists, and I found that I couldn’t read fast enough to find the resolution. I recommend this book for all historical romance lovers, particularly those who like to see a hero who has to battle with himself, and then enjoy a very satisfactory happy ever after.

Noah Winters, the Duke of Anselm, needs a wife. It’s time to fulfill his ducal duty and produce the required heir. Being the sensible gentleman that he is, he prepares a list of candidates, then culls the list down to one, and proceeds to court her.

After a few weeks, Noah learns that his potential bride is about to become engaged to a mere baron. Rather than being heartbroken, Noah is just annoyed at the time he’s wasted. Her companion, Araminthea (Thea) Collins should fill the bill nicely. She’s an earl’s daughter, sensible, attractive, and surely will jump at the chance to be a duchess. NOT!

Thea is content with her life as a paid companion. While she must give serious consideration to the duke’s proposal, she can’t see any great advantage in accepting. That is, until the duke agrees to let Thea’s younger sister live with them, and be launched into society. This proves too much of an inducement, so Thea accepts. But, still, there is something she needs to tell Noah before the marriage, a secret that he has to know. Fate seems to be plotting against her, and Thea can’t find an opportunity to talk to Noah alone. Before she knows it, she is married, and she’s facing her new husband on their wedding night. The circumstances that Thea wanted Noah to know about before the wedding are now revealed, and Noah feels betrayed. He makes the decision that they will have to wait for any sexual intimacy, and he will decide whether to put Thea aside or stay married.

I felt for Thea, as we learn later that she was truly a victim. She’s a kind person, who took her job seriously and didn’t bemoan her fate. I do think she should have insisted on finding a moment alone with Noah before their marriage, but can’t we all relate to putting off an uncomfortable situation? After the marriage, she did her best to be the kind of duchess Noah needed, while she waited to see what her fate would be. Noah describes himself as not a nice person, but I have to disagree. While he did make a few cutting remarks at first, he came around to treating Thea as his wife, giving her every courtesy. Soon, the two are growing closer, and coming to like each other very much. They begin touching each other, even sleeping together, but not sexually. Before the issue of the marriage is resolved, it turns out that Noah has a secret of his own, something major that he should have told Thea before the wedding. As Thea steps up, and takes this in stride, my admiration for her only grew.

Finally, they come together as husband and wife. Their amazing chemistry draws them closer together, not only in the bedroom, but in all facets of their life. As it looks like their happy ever after is assured, the past intrudes, and it hits close to home. Noah and Thea are going to have to be strong and remain united in facing new threats and past demons. Grace Burrowes excels in her character development, and her ability to turn the ordinary into something intimate and special. Sharing a cup of tea, or a meal becomes so much more. One scene in particular had the tears flowing. This book is warm, touching, emotional, sexy, and had me staying up reading into the wee hours. Most highly recommended

When Rafael Villar, Lord Vampire of London, stumbles upon a woman in the cemetery, he believes he’s found a vampire hunter—not the beautiful, intelligent stranger she proves to be.

Cassandra Burton is enthralled by the scarred, disfigured vampire who took her prisoner. The aspiring physician was robbing graves to pursue her studies—and he might turn out to be her greatest subject yet. So they form a bargain: one kiss for every experiment. As their passion grows and Rafe begins to heal, only one question remains: can Cassandra see the man beyond the monster?

I’ve been waiting for Rafe’s story and I was not disappointed. This book was fun!

I enjoyed her determination, spunk and sass. I got a kick out of her refusal to be cowed and her fascination about vampires, once she’s accepted that they’re real, and everything else that may or may not come along from the knowing. If anything thwarted her, she didn’t let it block her for long. Her uniqueness is what drew me but her personality kept me. I can see why she drove Rafe, the hero, nuts.

In the previous books, Rafe was very gruff, standoffish, opinionated and a man of few words. I wasn’t sure how in the world Ms. Ann was going to present him as a believable hero, but she did it. He never let his disability slow him down but it did affect his emotions and how he approached things in his life, like his romantic entanglements. The author garnered sympathy and interest from me for her hero and it all worked out.

I think the only thing that rang a sour note in the book was Rafe’s cluelessness about the villain. It’s mentioned he was suspicious, but he was So observant and sneaky and effective in the preceding book. His strength of character seemed a bit diluted in this one. Then again, he wasn’t in love, or fighting falling in love, in the other story either. Perhaps that explains it?

This is the third book in the series and as is true for the second, it’s true for Bite at First Sight – this is a standalone read. It’s easy to enjoy even if this tale is being read out of sequence. The author kept the story focused on Rafe and Cassandra, so a reader shouldn’t get lost. Some references are made to other characters from past books but they don’t play any significant roles except token appearances after all is said and done. However, there is a very believable and solid hook presented in this novel that truly has me wondering. I’m thinking they’ll be a good match based on their first meeting but how is the author going to navigate the emotional landmines laid down in this book for the next? I can’t wait to find out.

I enjoyed it when Cassandra and Rafe finally do get to explore the physical sides of their natures. It was especially entertaining when the heroine figured out what the fuss was all about. Her enthusiasm is delightful and very much appreciated by the hero.

Of course, there is suspense and drama injected into the romance by a very twisted, jealous and unprincipled vampire. Just when I thought the villain was going to get away with his plot, the author pleased me with her course of action. I’m glad everything turned out okay for the doctors. The scenes were tremendously well written and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Bite at First Sight is a great addition to the series and is a story easy to recommend to other paranormal romance fans. This novel is fun, addictive and wickedly entertaining. I couldn’t ask for a better happy ever after for Cassandra and Rafe – it was perfect for their characters and positions in life – or unlife. Ms. Ann certainly has a fan in me.
