Deborah was a strong woman with a great career. She’s well-known and famous. After the incident she has no self confidence panic attacks and unable to stay anywhere by herself. She is haunted by what happened. Enter Zach, whom Ginny asked to teach her friend self-defense to help regain her self confidence. When he first meets her there is an instant attraction he feels for her. Being a shapeshifter, they feel that there was only one person for them. When he meets her he knows that she is the one for him. He makes sure that he does his best to teach her self-defense. I enjoyed the way he was tender and careful until he earns her trust. He seduces her with soft kisses and touches, never pushing her for more. Their lovemaking was hot and tender, and Zach made sure that she had the opportunity to say no at any time. This shows the bond that grew between them. Some parts of the story happened a bit fast for me, but might be fine for other readers. The author did a great job in showing people how strong they can be after a tragedy.

This is the sort of poetry that thrives when it’s read out loud. I liked it when I read it silently, but I enjoyed it even more when I heard myself speak the words in it and noticed alliterations and rhyming schemes in some of them that weren’t as obvious the first time around. They were marvellous.

There were several different types of poetry represented in this collection. Most of it was free verse, but there were also some poems that stuck to fairly regular rhyming schemes. I liked the fact that they all covered such a wide range of topics, but I couldn’t help but to wonder if it would have been better to either stick to one type of poetry or bundle all of the poems on the same topic together into the same book. It was a little jarring for me as a reader to not only jump around in subject matter constantly but to also leapfrog from poems that followed predictable rhyming patterns to ones that did not.

One of the best parts of this collection was a poem called “Haitian.” It was so short and pithy that I dare not quote a single word of it or say which part of Haiti’s history it was referring to, but I thought it represented the author’s talent with drilling down to the heart of the matter nicely. If other readers are planning to read this collection out of order, I’d definitely recommend starting here.

Consciousness Detoured should be read by anyone who loves poetry or the inspirational genre.

Watching Mount and Meghan share some of their past and experience the peace of the solitude together really helped me see that they had a good and solid foundation together to build their relationship on.

The chemistry between them was smoking hot and when they finally both acted on their feelings it felt both right and intense. I felt it took both Mount and Meghan a little too long to come to the realization that they loved each other and were perfectly suited – I adored that William, their mutual friend – had to practically beat them each over the head with the knowledge. When they finally confessed their feelings it was a lovely and deliciously romantic scene and I felt a lot of satisfaction with the happy ending.

Romantic, sexy and a total fantasy, I found this to be a brilliant short story and one I will happily reread a number of times in the future. With interesting characters and a wonderfully secluded setting this story is an awesome, quick and hot read.

Even though Myron and Kate are not at all blood-related, I could understand if the closeness of their relationship weirds some readers out, particularly since the sex between them is explicit and prolific. For readers who enjoy this particular taboo, I think the short story should appeal. Aside from their feelings on the taboo aspect of their relationship there isn’t a lot of conflict in this story – so readers who enjoy complicated plots or large obstacles being overcome might not find this story suits their tastes. Readers who want a lighter, sexier quick read should find this fits the bill nicely.

Personally, I didn’t find the situation very sexy. I could see where both Danil and Maura were coming from, but it didn’t feel naughty or taboo to me, but awkward and difficult.

It was a relief to me when Maura finally admitted who her family was to Danil and that final secret was aired out. I was also pleased that Danil was calm and listened to her explanations and didn’t simply hit the roof or over-react without understanding the entire situation. There was plenty of conflict in the story already – from Danil’s mother and the various other women – and so a mis-communication about secrets and history would have been a little too much for me. I feel readers who have already read some (or many) of the previous books in this series might have a better idea of the “big picture” and feel a lot more attachment to the characters – particularly Danil and Maura – and perhaps this story shouldn’t be picked up as a stand-alone and read by itself.

While I didn’t feel as invested in Danil and Maura as I could hope, they were clearly attracted to each other and had some good chemistry. I really enjoyed how Danil and Maura respected each other and were prepared to listen and respect each other while still enjoying a steamy and passionate affair.

The sex between them was explosive – but it was all the intrigue and the slick way they worked together to solve the puzzle of what was threatening their company that really had me turning the pages quickly to find out how it all resolves itself.

Readers who enjoy spy/espionage styles of stories should really enjoy this. I love the strength and commitment between Carrie and Mason – I found them really compatible and well-suited on every level. While a lot of the story has Mason and Carrie scrambling to try and piece together who is trying to revenge past sins I enjoyed the fact that this helped Mason and Carrie strengthen their romance and learn even more about each other. Rather than doubting or letting their enemies weaken them they trusted each other fully and that was something I really loved reading.

With plenty of action and romance this was a great short story that I really enjoyed.

I was also really glad that even though this is the second book set in the world it stands alone completely fine just by itself – I haven’t read the previous book and while I think there was a reference to the two previous characters Griff and Sav are front-and-centre here and their story is the main focus.

The sex is hot and a little bit kinky – but should be suitable for all levels of erotica readers. There is some very light BDSM, but nothing too heavy and I feel even readers who aren’t usually keen on kink or BDSM stories should find this book light enough to suit their tastes. What I really enjoyed is the main aspect to the story was Griff and Sav exploring this new level to their friendship and relationship and exploring with truth and honesty what they each wanted and craved from the other. I found this to be refreshing and really interesting to read and I greatly enjoyed how much the two men cared for each other and how clearly they wanted to make this new level between them work.

Hot and sexy, this is a great, fast read.

There are issues in the relationship just as any other. I did not like the character of Lance, who was Cameron’s ex-boyfriend. The author does a good job of depicting a man who thinks everyone should love him. He knows how to play on Josh’s personal demons.

I like how the author makes each person have some sort of quirk, like Josh is not appreciated at work. He is a tech geek and he worries constantly that this will drive Cameron from him. The author shows how each one will stand up for the other. One of my favorite scenes is when they are at a ball that Josh’s company is hosting and Cameron stands up for him when he is getting flack from other employees. This does make their relationship stronger, it shows them that they can make it through anything, as long as they talk together.

If you love dogs as much as I do, enjoy seeing two men find a special romance, and the baddies getting what they deserve this is a book for you. It was sweet, hot, and perfectly balanced. A great read for a cold winter night.

Handled correctly I can enjoy a strong alpha male character as much as any other lady, but it took me a short while to really get into the strength of Maxwell’s personality. That said, I adored Aaron right from the get-go and found him delightful and really easy to relate to. Young, still a little naïve, determined to reach his goals and forge a path of his own making his character really appealed to me and I was hooked.

This is the fun and kinky sort of story where you need to disconnect your brain and just enjoy the ride. When Aaron and Maxwell initially come together in the club there’s quite a bit of discussion, history-sharing and verbal footwork before they agree to try a scene out together. I was a bit torn about this aspect to the story. On the one hand I enjoyed really getting to know both Maxwell and Aaron on a deeper level, it helped me connect well to them both and feel invested in their story and the relationship they each wanted to form. On the other hand it really slowed down the pace of the story and I found myself initially skimming to get ahead and start some of the action and forward motion to their relationship. I feel some readers will really appreciate the added depth this scene gives both men’s characters, but I wouldn’t be surprised if plenty of other readers skim this to get to the hot stuff.

The chemistry between the two men is delicious, the kink is hot and well written and for a fun and quick read this story certainly fits the bill to my mind. There’s a number of mis-communications and rocky road that the two men need to travel, but their need and lust for each other is clear and steamily written. This was a sexy and hot read that I feel should appeal to a number of readers.

Cerys is a strong woman, who has to face the outside world suddenly. She had never gone very far from her home and each experience is new for her. It’s obvious by several experiences that she has trouble in crowds, for example when she was going to get new clothes and had a panic attack. She is surprised at the difference in Victor from when they are home and when they were out in public. Like any of us facing a new situation and the love that develops so quickly, she is unsure if he really wanted her forever or if he would leave her. What she learned about her sexual preferences surprises her. She ends up liking the spanking and even the anal play.

Victor is a tough, hard-hearted man and able to keep himself and Cerys safe. He was attracted to her at first sight and impressed by her bravery, even knowing that her father was a jerk. He When he noticed all the bruises on her and finds out that it was his father’s fault, he even went back to show him that he had ruined a treasure. The poor guy didn’t know how to handle a woman he wanted to keep, and when he gives her jewelry he doesn’t understand why she is not ecstatic. He opens his heart to her, slowly realizing that he loved her even though he thought he was never able to love.

I did think that their relationship was too fast and the fact that they fell in love so quickly was a little crazy. I did enjoy the story, especially being blind myself and reading how she navigates the world. The author does a good job keeping her in character. This is a wonderful love story where a hard man learns that love makes a man stronger than being seen as a man who kept himself apart.
