I really liked the way the author made it sound believable (even if far-fetched) and how they wound the romance around the cat’s influence. The pace is fast enough to keep your interest and the romance fluctuates. The man is extremely good looking and knows it, has lots of money, and doesn’t often sleep alone. Caitlin almost got raped as a child and is still a virgin. She also repairs clothes for a living. Could two people be more different?

The best part is the fashion show where Caitlin is showing off her designs and his former girlfriend is modelling them. As you can imagine, there’s a conflict.

With an outspoken cat who says what she thinks, romance in the air and plenty of interesting conversations, the author keeps you reading and smiling until the end.

The interesting premise is enjoyable, the tale is well written and love is in the air. As you read, you wait to see if they can overcome their differences…Recommended.

Can Charlotte find the happiness that always seems under threat, and will Harry return home to her?

The Promise of Tomorrow is one of those books that the reader will absolutely love or the reader will not like it at all. It will depend on who likes melodrama. I’d wager if the reader enjoyed the movie The Patriot with Mel Gibson, then they’d be a candidate to read and love this story.

The book is very well written, there is no doubt about that. The cast of characters are strongly developed and relatable. The heroine, Charlotte was a perfect match for the hero, Harry. Together, they were unstoppable and unforgettable.

To be honest, this book could have ended at chapter eleven for me except the plot thread of the villain, McBride, would have been unresolved. I’m not giving any spoilers because the prologue states “World War 1 erupts and Harry enlists”. That was chapter twelve which felt like a start to another story. The first eleven chapters were a splendid romantic love story and then the next fourteen chapters were pretty much about Harry fighting in the war.

It’s my opinion that a military wife would perhaps more likely enjoy this story because she has walked in Charlotte’s shoes. I’m grateful for what our military men do for our country but I know I would never make a good military wife. They have to be able to push their selfishness aside. They have to possess the ability to support their husbands and send them off with their blessings when they are deployed. The solider misses their children’s births, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

This was a heartwarming love story that I’m sure it could have been someone’s reality at one time. I prefer to read books that make me laugh and escape the responsibilities of my life. I didn’t enjoy feeling sad for Charlotte while Harry was fighting in the war, wondering if he was going to return home alive.

I have no choice but to rate this book a five because I recognize that it’s a genuine quality book. It would make a great Netflix movie. The narrative has several threads among the characters to keep the story flowing and the reader’s interest captivated.

It is my honest opinion that readers should give this book a try.

There are three books inside the covers of You Witch and they follow on from one another but each one stands alone as well. Well worth the read especially if you want a good laugh along with a good read.

I’ve enjoyed a number of other stories by this author revolving around this dance studio and various classes and am pleased that this story is another great addition. I was really pleased that Moira and Alan didn’t simply jump at each other – or start some crazy, passion-filled fling. I felt very clearly the author’s intention to show that Alan and Moira, while relatable and each ready to fall in love, made slow, understandable progress as they got to know each other better become more attached. While the pace of their romance was a bit slow it felt very real and completely relatable to me. This made it all the sweeter to my mind – making me really feel as if I was catching up with some friends and hearing about how they met and fell in love with “the one”.

While there is a ton of attraction and chemistry between Moira and Alan, there are only a few kisses and the bedroom door is kept firmly closed. While it’s made clear they become intimate toward the end of the story there is no descriptive love-making, so I feel this should definitely appeal to romance readers of all ages. With plenty of drama and action, as well as a lovely Argentinean adventure, this is the sort of story that makes me sigh and happily daydream about sultry and amazing adventurers, globetrotting around the world.

A great and fun short story that is sure to appeal to a wide variety of readers. I really enjoyed this and will happily read more stories by this author.

An unexpectedly wonderful touch involves a number of secondary characters; these, largely children (think of a band in the forest), contribute enormously to the overall plot, and become strong ‘characters’ in their own right.

I have one complaint about some complex conversations and having to re-read to figure out who-said-what. That sort of thing does take one a bit out of the story. It’s a small complaint though, in what kicks off in a promisingly intriguing way and never, ever lets the reader down.

The Lady of the Forest delivers all the adventures one could dream with a handsome knightly; its definitely stronger than ‘sweet’ but tastefully presented; historical romance fans will enjoy this one. Do read.

Early, Jared is established as courageous even if his claims doubtful, though surely we hope those hardly matter. Yet, those claims must finally be established; though Jared must face cruelty from the past, revenge, even hatred. Readers share his emotional turmoil. We can easily see how certain relationships develop–so we are hoping to see those carry forward…but no spoilers here! Suffice to say, that the main characters absolutely make this story, and our hopes and fears for them make this an absolute page-turner.

Fans of historicals will simply love this one. An easy 5 stars.

This first encounter is well written, the exchange of languages intriguing. These Pet Mer (Sky Friends–aliens) (vampire-like gods) will live underground. Their motivations toward humans are surprising.

Kesi is the lovable protagonist, and reading her story is a pleasure. She is of Giza, 15th Dynasty. She’s a daughter of the gods, half human, half god. She lives underground, and she and her people have a unique arrangement with humans. The humans were born to serve them, but Kesi wants to befriend them, unlike the other children of the gods. This is a set-up for real trouble. When she develops love for a human, what happens next is heart-wrenching.

The suspense is done with skill. The emotional connection between the characters is touching. There’s a sci-fi explanation of the making of “vampires” in Egypt. It’s cool and makes sense. The romantic passion, young love, is irresistible. Then a terrible question comes up and must be answered. What happens when the truth is exposed?

When Kesi leaves her people and witnesses something new and odd, she becomes entranced. It’s so well written that readers can feel what she does, wonder what she does. She dares to do the unknown, and readers discover with her. While explaining vampire legends, there are some real surprises. When Kesi has so many hard questions facing her, readers will wonder how her dilemmas can be solved. More drama is created when Pharaoh gives her an awful, cringe-worthy punishment for something bad she didn’t mean to do.

I’m glad I read this story and recommend it for its story, characters, and presentation.

This slow pace and long getting-to-know-you phase really helped the whole story feel emotional and realistic to me.

I liked the fact it took quite some time for Clark and Julie to become intimate – and I think more traditional romance readers will be very pleased that aside from a few kisses the actual lovemaking occurs properly off-stage and is not described at all. While fully explained and somewhat understandable I really disliked how Julie kept a couple of fairly large secrets from Clark. I found it really confusing – and not very believable – that Julie was falling in love with Clark and having strong feelings for the man yet kept critical aspects of her life secret from him. While it certainly made the conflict of the plot and storyline high in tension, I just couldn’t balance the thought that Julie was falling for Clark but had no problems at all in keeping serious secrets from him. This just didn’t make sense to me and made it almost impossible for me to believe the depth of her feelings for him. This also lessened my enjoyment of the story and made me like her character slightly less.

The complex interactions between the two families – and in particular the three teenaged children – was totally a highlight for me and felt both very realistic and emotional. I enjoyed seeing the two families interact and after the conflict and secrets were all laid to rest the merging of the two families and romance between Clark and Julie was really lovely.

A great short story I feel this will appeal to readers who like their romances fairly sweet and enjoy family-orientated types of stories.

Liz worked hard but was starting to feel the loneliness of returning night after night to an empty house. When her well-meaning but determined neighbor “invites” Liz to join her at some dance lessons Liz isn’t left with another option but to go. She’s surprised to find not only does she enjoy the dancing – but one of the men she meets, Patrick, is rather enjoyable too.

I really enjoyed this short story and was seriously impressed with just how much plot and characterization the author managed to put into such a small number of pages. I felt that both Liz and Patrick were interesting, multi-layered characters with plenty of realistic problems and obstacles they were trying to overcome. Patrick’s daughter was having a rough time and his two grandchildren needed help because of it – and Liz has a number of problems to deal with in her work. I loved how while there was plenty of drama and issues around Liz and Patrick they were not only realistic but also relatable, and neither of them let their difficulties sour their characters. I found this really uplifting to read about.

I found the pace of the romance lovely and slow – which made perfect sense to me. Patrick and Liz both have a lot going on in their respective lives and while it’s clear they’re both very interested in each other – and that they have chemistry and a connection, if they’d simply jumped right into bed I’m not sure I would have found it believable. So watching them both try to juggle the various things in their respective lives and still find time to date and get to know each other was a lovely way to allow their romance to blossom slowly. I also didn’t mind that the sex was absolutely behind a closed door. It’s clear they did become intimate – but there is no explicitness outside a few kisses between the couple.

The author managed to tackle quite a few difficult subjects with what I felt was a lot of finesse – Patrick’s daughter was clearly a troubled young lady and had some drug problems. While these issues aren’t dwelled upon in an unnecessary way to my mind the reading could be too strong for readers who prefer a gentler, happier style of romance story. In no way do I feel this detracted from my personally enjoying the story, but I could understand it might be a bit heavy for some readers. I found the strength and compassion both Liz and Patrick showed his daughter and grandkids was lovely and an integral element in their moving forward together as a couple.

Well written and very plot-heavy this is a lovely romance with plenty of oomph for such a short page count. I’ll happily be reading more by this author soon.
