Tessa McCaide has had it up to here with supernaturals. Luciana may have failed to steal Tessa’s magic, but she’s just getting started on her crusade for magical domination. If her demonic summoning isn’t stopped, it could mean the end of everything.

Tessa’s allies, including her mate Dastien, are ready to fight, but they’re no match for Luciana’s power. A little help (and ancient Inca mojo) from Tessa’s cousin, Claudia, may give the side of good a chance if she can make it home in time, but stopping the war is no longer an option.

We samples of viagra can say these both are two parts of the single coin. When witches and wolves fight, no one wins. Only time will tell who will still be standing after the last spell is cast.

As a fan of the Alpha Girl Series, my expectations were met and exceeded with this latest installment. Finally, finally the confrontation between good and evil, heroine and villain, takes place and it’s every bit as exciting and nail biting as I could have wished.

Alpha Unleashed is the fifth book in the series and is not a standalone. For a reader to understand what is at stake, to understand the pain of friends lost, horrors visited and challenges overcome, one has to read the entire series, books 1-4, to experience the immense impact book five has for a follower of the plot arc and the heroine, Tessa and her alpha hero, Dastien. It’s told from first person POV and the author never missed a beat because a reader only knows what Tessa knows which left both of us open to the surprises and emotional challenges that pepper the novel.

All the loose ends get wrapped up in this final novel with regards to Luciana. That witch is vile, vindictive, determined and not quite herself; certainly not as any of her coven knew her to be, which is quite the surprise later on in the book. There is good news about Raphael, fascinating intrigue with the introduction of Van and his association with Cosette, Tessa and Dastien’s bond is finally sealed, but not done quite as expected and through it all, Tessa’s family provides the unconditional love and support that gives the heroine strength, and the story heart and grounding. Family is important – Tessa’s family and her pack family, and they’re worth fighting and dying for.

There is action galore especially in the final battle. There are many moments of suspense, of not knowing who will make it, what potions will work, who the enemies from within are, and who else will die. Not to mention the fact that the biggest kept secret is let out of the bag and the ramifications are almost overwhelming for Tessa, who for all intents and purposes, is still a teenager. Talk about growing up fast!

Tessa and Dastien are still wonderful together. The author focuses mostly on their relationship and the action, not so much on their love life, which is fine for me. The strength and support Dastien provides is immense but I adore their bantering, those moments of light humor and teasing and how Tessa is affected by just looking at her hero’s yummy abs. Those were fun scenes, special scenes, and they personified what was at stake if she and her allies failed to defeat Luciana.

Alpha Unleashed totally wowed me. Every question I had, every wish I hoped, all were more than met and I’m a very happy reader. The Alpha Girl Series was discovered by accident and it’s the best book series I’ve come across in quite some time. It’s unique, intelligent, meaty, romantic, action packed and it grips a reader’s imagination. It’s symbolizes the battle between good and evil and even though the heroes and heroines mostly wear fur instead of the requisite white hat, they get the job done. This is a well written novel and a compliment to the rest of the series – the cake topper, if you will. I heartily recommend this novel, and this series.

America’s Sweetheart, Callista Gold, needs an escape from Hollywood—and the scandalous photos hackers leaked to the tabloids. She buys a cottage in northern Arizona, sight unseen, and heads for what she thinks will be a mountain retreat. But like her now-tainted reputation, Rosewood Cottage needs some major fixing-up. Contractor Tyler Behr—one-third of Behr Construction—is just the man for the job. Problem is Ty had other plans: buy Rosewood and flip it. He agrees to work for the frosty beauty, with thoughts of delaying the project long enough for her to get bored and go back to wherever she came from.

He’s never been big on sharing, not even something as simple as loaning power tools to his own brothers. How can he share the woman he loves with the movie-going public?

Callista Gold is America’s Sweetheart, Hollywood-style. But when a scandalous secret is exposed, she heads for anonymity, and peace and quiet in Northern Arizona. What she finds is completely unexpected.

Starlet Callie goes into hiding after a set of nude photos is released to the public, courtesy of a hacker. She eludes reporters and paparazzi by buying an old fixer-upper cottage in a small off-the-beaten-path town in Northern Arizona, sight unseen. Little does she know that she just bought the cottage right out from under Ty Behr, one-third of a local remodeling team of handsome brothers. Ty, Jeff, and Will Behr had plans to purchase the property, remodel it, and then flip it for a nice profit. The youngest brother, Ty, was the brainchild of the failed plan and he’s not happy to find out that the cottage has a new owner, beautiful or not.

In a turn of events, Callie ends up hiring “Baby Behr” and his brothers to do the remodeling job, and with nothing else to do but hideout until the media storm blows over, Callie decides to jump in to help with the remodeling, and she isn’t a bit afraid of using a sledgehammer when needed. And it seems both Ty and Jeff notice – everything. Although eldest brother Will tries to keep his two brothers focused on the job, the two find themselves at odds over Callie. And since Ty was never good at sharing, Jeff had a fun time riling him.

The story had its amusing moments, but I did not see it as a romantic comedy, as billed. Some incidents were more embarrassing and awkward than funny, such as the time Callie traipses out into the woods behind her cottage, only to realize she doesn’t have her cell phone so she doesn’t know what time it is, but knows she is hungry. She finds “the widest pine tree in the area” and squats. Unbeknownst to her, one of the handsome Behr brothers also decides to find a tree. Startled and caught with her pants down, Callie falls into an unfortunate “patch of bright green leaves.” Yep, you guessed it!

Most of the time, the relationships came off as fickle and seemed to have a malfunctioning stop and go button. And frankly, even though I wanted to believe the three men and Callie got along well with each other, the relationships were not convincing and I never felt more than an awkward employer/employee relationship, even when Callie and the men became attracted to one another. Although I believe the author intended a multiple viewpoint story, the method was not fully successful. Callie often posed questions to herself and then answered, before the next sentence gave Ty a turn doing the same. At times, it was confusing trying to decipher who was answering whose question.

If you enjoy stories of Hollywood starlets and their search for normalcy amid chaos, this is a quick amusing read.

When a priceless artifact is stolen, museum curator Lana Gomez becomes the prime suspect. How can she hope to adopt her orphaned nephew if she’s a person of interest in a crime? Cooperating with Capitol K-9 Unit officer Adam Donovan doesn’t get her very far—the handsome cop thinks she’s hiding something. But when the real thief returns set on silencing Lana, it is Adam and his Doberman pinscher, Ace, who become her only defense against a madman who wants nothing more than to see Lana eliminated.

Capitol K-9 Unit: These lawmen solve the toughest cases with the help of their brave canine partners.

A mystery wrapped in a mystery but which one leads to the HEA? That’s what I found most intriguing about this novel. The one that involved Lana and Adam is all over the place in the beginning but towards the end, I could see which way it was heading. I didn’t mind the other one not being resolved because I clearly got the picture that there was another case, another hero, who was going to have to deal with it. Adam and Lana had enough to deal with in Duty Bound Guardian.

The interesting thing about this book was set up. The author took time for a reader to understand the demons that drove both the hero and heroine and it was easy to see how both their pasts affected their present. I liked how the author showed Adam and Lana, in turn, seeing the strengths of the other person as they battle to stay alive and solve the case. I saw their trust grow, the attraction simmer and the best part is how Ace, the K-9 officer and Adam’s partner, played a major role, like an equal character, in the novel. I’ve seen K-9 officers in action and they truly are an amazing team in real life and I could relate. A police officer and his canine partner really are inseparable. That loyalty comes in handy many times throughout the story.

The most Adam and Lana do that physically shows when their extreme attraction for each other combusts and passion overcomes them, is kiss. It was enough to satisfy me that the chemistry is smoking hot but they toed the line because of the seriousness of their situation. It was realistic in that regard. Then again, they both have a strong sense of faith in God and quite a few times they ask/pray for strength and guidance, and a little saving especially when the bullets fly. It’s not overdone at all, instead it provides a healthy dose of grounding, which reminds me, that even when things are at their worst, comfort can come from a higher source, and it can see a person through.

I think I might have guessed as to whom the bad guy was, but I wasn’t sure because the author, through use of her characters, kept throwing me off of the scent. In the end, the heroine was just as shocked as I was. I liked that.

Duty Bound Guardian is a clever read with heart pounding action. It was entertaining, exciting and I really enjoyed myself. I’d recommend this to all romance suspense readers who don’t want to read a huge tome but want a quick edgy read that affects their breathing in all the best ways. It’s a solid recommend.

Ivy Morris owns her own shop in the sleepy town of Martha’s Point. She’s still a little new to the area but already managed to earn the reputation as a trouble-making outsider by the townspeople, except by those she’s helped. However, on the day of her father and stepmother’s wedding, a death occurs and she’s once again plunged into a murder mystery. If that wasn’t enough, she realizes that there’s something fishy going on with the females in this town. They have been jumping on her boyfriend left and right.

The story had a main plot and a sub plot that had me reaching for the book at every chance to find the whys and hows and see how Ivy gets out of this latest scrape. I got the impression it was more of a romantic mystery but it had enough comedic elements to keep it from going down a dark mystery direction.

Ivy wants to fit in the town and be called one of them rather than still being known as as an out-of-towner. So when the murder is discovered, she tries to stay out of it but circumstances do not allow her to do that.

Something Old, Something Dead is not shown as a series in Goodreads but it’s definitely part of a series. Actually, it’s the fourth book in the Ivy Morris mysteries. The first one was Poison Ivy. For readers who like reading the stories from the start to finish this may become slight problem but, this one could also be enjoyed as a separate cozy mystery. A satisfying mystery with a good dose of comedy. This one is an easy recommend.

Dating can be full of unexpected twists and turns. If only Ethan knew what was going to happen next with his new beau!

The food in this story sounded amazing. The descriptions of it made my mouth water more than once because of how much time the narrator spent talking about which ingredients were used and how the dishes were made. This is definitely a book that is best read on a full stomach or with some tasty snacks handy.

I would have liked to see more time spent developing the romantic relationship between Josh and Ethan. While I liked both of them as individuals and was intrigued to see what they’d be like as a couple, their relationship moved so quickly that I sometimes wondered why they had both decided to pursue it before getting to know one another better. It would have been really helpful to have more clues about why these men made this decision.

The ending was well done. It fit in with everything I’d figured out about the characters already. What I appreciated the most about it was how it was revealed. I can’t go into any details about this without giving away spoilers, of course, but seeing it unfold was delightful. Ms. Sheridan seems to have an intuitive understanding of how to pace the last few scenes in a short story in such a way that makes it impossible for me to stop reading until everything is finished.

I’d recommend The Sharp Edge of Love to anyone who is in the mood for something surprising.

Just when Claire thinks that things can’t get worse, they do.

Every old house has secrets, but most of them aren’t quite as sad as the ones lurking in Claire’s new investment property.

The pacing was incredibly well done. While this is a full-length piece, at times it reminded me of a short story because of how concisely it was written. The author chose her words carefully. Every single scene flowed seamlessly into the next one. This made it possible for her to pack an incredible amount of storytelling into two hundred and sixty four pages. I was in awe of just how many different subplots Ms. Dusenbury was able to weave together!

The only thing I would have liked to see added to this tale would have been a little more character development. Ms. Dusenbury did an excellent job of showing me who Claire was as a person. The most important supporting characters would have flourished if they’d been given more chances to display their personalities when the plot allowed for it, although this is a very minor criticism of an otherwise wonderful mystery.

Yes, I figured out what probably happened to Dorcas fairly early on. This wasn’t an issue for me, though, because there were so many other things going on with the characters simultaneously. There’s also a difference between knowing how something happened and seeing how the events of one day can ripple through the lives of so many different people. I really enjoyed watching the rest of the plot unfold regardless of how quickly I guessed what the ending might be.

This can be read as a standalone novel. I haven’t read the first two books in the series yet, but I had no trouble at all figuring out who the characters were or what was happening to them.

I’d heartily recommend A House of Her Own to anyone who is also a fan of paranormal mysteries.

Some people in her small community think Ellen Hamilton, business savvy daughter of the town’s largest employer, is too big for her britches. After all it’s the 1950s when women have no place in running corporations. When the company is threatened with takeover by John, who broke her heart and betrayed her family business years ago, she’s determined to stop at nothing to win.

Ruggedly handsome John Adair has returned to the town that tried to destroy him with false accusations of corporate espionage. What truly hurt him was Ellen, the woman he loved, believed the allegations. However, that was the past. His return is for one reason only, business. But will he remember it when gazing into Ellen’s enticing eyes or when intoxicated by the aroma of jasmine whenever she is near?

If price is a concern then you can go for kamagra oral jellies to perk discount viagra up your sexual stamina and energy during the bedtime performance. The Sweetheart Deal is a happily unpredictable novel about one clever woman, her by no-means supportive family, and a romance she is determined to deny.

Ellen Hamilton is perhaps a trifle more self-possessed than the average young woman of the fifties…and perhaps her goals are somewhat different. She’s been raised to ‘take over the company’ but didn’t. She’s tough enough to withstand a bossy, manipulative father and to stand up for the brother. And, she’s heart-broken, whether she admits it or not.

Readers will be intrigued by Ellen from the first few pages; nothing about her life or story is predictable. We meet her ‘ex’ John and can understand her attraction; but also grasp why she dismisses him. Being underhanded is unforgivable for Ellen, and here he is, ‘up to something’ again.

However, its a story where strong minded characters rule: Ms. Morse does a wonderful job creating characters. Some of her secondary characters are wonderful for their growing animosity (and we have the fun of puzzling out their schemes), or then again, like amazing George, the engineer, for his understanding. All are believable and interesting. Even the dippy, slightly-too-southern Mom manages to be entertaining. The motivation of self-interest is shared from several different perspectives. The business wheeling and dealing is most definitely personal for all players, but the business deals are in fact, inextricable from the romance.

Funny, lighthearted moments are interspersed nicely. The fifties are there, in ladies white gloves or a gent’s slicked back hair but the setting never intrudes. The characters and their loyalty matters; not only to the story, but to the reader.

If I must complain, I’d have liked shorter flashbacks. They become too detailed and felt distant. Its a small complaint in what is overall, a riveting read.

A wonderful cast of characters, who are completely entwined in the events, deals and back-stabbing make The Sweetheart Deal a novel to remember. Do read! And just wanted to note: I simply love the cover.

Living in the countryside can be peaceful. It can also be incredibly dangerous.

I liked how the dialogue was mixed in with the narrator’s descriptions of what the characters were doing. There were enough conversations to tell what was happening, but they always allowed the main storyline to continue moving along smoothly. Given how quickly the plot was paced, this was a smart choice.

The romance in this tale developed too quickly. It would have been helpful to have more hints about why the characters fell for each other so easily as neither one of them seemed like the kind of person who would be interested in that sort of thing. Knowing more about their personalities would have helped me to understand if this was out of character for them or if they both had well-hidden romantic tendencies. As it was written, though, I was never quite sure which one of these theories was the one the author was trying to share with her audience.

The plot twist halfway through the story was nicely done. While I did see it coming in advance, it was still fun to see how this twist was revealed to the audience. I also liked seeing how the characters reacted to it. Their responses to this scene made sense based on what I had been able to figure out about their personalities.

Witches & Wolves is a good choice for anyone who is in the mood for a whirlwind romance in a contemporary fantasy setting.

However, Kat is held in the clutches of a darker secret. The doomed soldier was also her lover…and the husband of her now-widowed sister.

Kat will never truly be free until she confronts the guilt over her past. But can she conquer the enemy within that holds her in its death grip? It’s a fight she must win at any cost. Or lose what matters the most.

Corporal Kat Hartley has been back in the US for several months after an IED exploded in Iraq and got her sent home from the war. Her guilt over her lover dying in the explosion is still raw and engulfing her every moment. Despite her best attempts at being the wife and mother her family deserved, it’s just not coming together for her. Kat has returned to find her almost-teenaged daughter angry and withdrawn, and the husband and world she’d left behind even more confusing and upsetting than when she’d been deployed. Settling back into “regular” life is just not what she imagined, and soon it becomes all too much.

This is a very emotional, heart-wrenching story on the difficulties faced by those returning home from war. Kat clearly has PTSD but is unwilling to seek help for it, determined to face it herself. After a near-accident, Kat is forced by her family to start seeking the help she needs. It’s not an easy fight for her and I found myself both drawn into her struggle and desperately hoping Kat could find the strength needed to help herself. I didn’t find this an easy read, and especially think romance readers looking for a happy, soft, pleasant book might not find this particularly satisfying. While strongly emotional, I found it realistic and uncomfortable to read.

The plot surrounding Kat’s grief over her lover’s death is also another sensitive issue. It’s not common for a romance heroine to have had an affair although I do think the author has done an excellent job of explaining Kat’s reasons and the difficulty of the position she’d been in. Even so, it was hard for me to feel sympathy for Kat struggling with her marriage in crisis and the serious issue of lack of communication between Kat and her husband. While they are both clearly to blame for their relationship issues, it has been Kat who was unfaithful, and this lessened my sympathy for her. No one deserves the emotional and physical distress she’d survived, but it was hard for me to feel a strong connection with a heroine who acted in such a manner to the family she’s left back at home. That said, this is certainly how I could perceive the reality of a soldier sent out to fight in the war. Life isn’t easy or clear cut and each decision has its own ramifications. Trying to come home and live a “normal” life is fraught with all manner of problems, and these are clearly and vividly described. The very fact this was such a hard read for me is proof of the authors talent, and perhaps once in a while we all need to be reminded that real life isn’t easy, simple or comfortable. In that respect, this is an excellent book and reminder of that.

A powerful, emotional read, this will not be to every reader’s tastes. I found the characters very life-like and while not sympathetic, I certainly felt invested in both them and the story.

I’ve not read the other books in this series, but didn’t have trouble following the story. I do think I would have had a much richer experience if had already been acquainted with these characters, but I still very much enjoyed what I read.

Cady and Doyle are a deeply devoted couple, engaged when we meet them and obviously utterly smitten with one another. However, secrets surface and problems arise that affect their relationship so all is not roses and sweetness.

There is a very light inspirational tone to this story, but nothing terribly overt or preachy, meaning I think this would appeal to all who enjoy the historical romance/mystery genre. And, honestly, it was quite refreshing to read a book that was all about the story and less about how many ways can we get the couple into bed.

The mystery is about white slavery of a sort, and a prostitution ring. The villains are horrible and my heart broke for the first victim we meet, right at the start. The author’s voice and ability is clear and descriptive, and I felt as if I was right in the room with her. My hands ached to help her and it definitely set up the story in a strong manner.

There were a few places where the story is a bit draggy. After that incredibly intense prologue, we meet Cady and Doyle and while it was wonderful to see them and, of course, we readers need the introduction, it rather put the brakes on the forward movement. The first chapter or two were a bit slow, but once the investigation really started, things got moving again and it was all about turning pages to see what happens.

The author has a rich appreciation for the time and her voice is clear and interesting. She is very good at putting the reader right into the story as opposed to “telling” it, and while this was the first of her books I’ve read, it likely won’t be the last.

Again, fans of historical mysteries with a taste of romance should enjoy this book immensely. Definitely recommended!
