In the case of this book, I couldn’t get enough of Paige and Jude. Ms. Warren writes well and kept me right in my seat needing to know what would happen next.

Jude and Paige have chemistry and it’s evident, even when things aren’t going right for them. That’s what I love about the both of them. They never give up. Okay, so there are bleak moments. What book doesn’t have those? But it’s how Paige and Jude get past them is the core of the story. I loved it. I’m glad I read this book and can’t wait to go back and read the other stories. I can’t wait for Phoenix to get his book, too.

If you want a book filled with heart and family, then this might be the story for you. Highly recommended.

The book is lighthearted, but with a few dark passages when referring to the past. For instance Nicole’s father and Wyatt both want to make amends but Nicole resists, reluctant to put herself in a position to be hurt again. The story flows nicely and is easy to follow. A good read for a cozy afternoon by the fireside.

Frankie is a college graduate and she is “jump first, think later” kind of person. She knows that she would like to become a professional photographer, but does not pursue this goal very diligently. Their worlds, but especially Griffin’s, are completely changed when they meet and fall in love,.

Although Frankie is not sure what to do with her life, she is strong girl and she is the one who helps Griffin to cast away his demons. She does not take any stupidity from him and she pushes him out of his comfort zone. Griffin is a dark and complex character. At the beginning of the story he is full of rage. He resents his father and has strong mixed feelings about his mother.

The topic of Shatterproof goes beyond a love story. The author deals with issue of domestic violence, children who are witnessing it and the question why victims stay in abusive relationship. But it also demystifies the idea that domestic violence is related to poverty or particular social status, because Griffin parents are neither poor nor his father is alcoholic.

Shatterproof is a great story written from a dual POV that deals realistically with the issue of domestic violence. Readers should be warned that the story contains scenes of violence without which the story would not be authentic. So if one does not have problem with it, read this story, it is truly magnificent.

Chloe wants to save the world and I could tell that Serena was going to figure out a way to make it happen.

Serena is an interesting character. She has suffered a lot at the hands of people she should have been able to trust. Consequently, she is understandably very guarded. She wears her makeup and corset like armor against the rest of the world. As I read, I couldn’t believe how many hard choices Serena faced. She has to make a lot of personal sacrifices for the good of the mission as well as for the sake of repairing relationships. Once Serena is fully on board with the plan to save the world, she takes on immense responsibility. She is uncompromising and unwilling to sacrifice anyone along the way.

The relationship between Serena, Chloe, and Rachel is beyond toxic. It was quite painful to read, especially when the trio first reconnected. Few details were initially revealed concerning the tragic circumstances that caused the friendship to fracture. However, the little I knew left me very confused about why Chloe and Rachel seemed so indifferent to the pain Serena endured. Gradually more details were revealed that went a long way to explaining everyone’s behavior. I do wish those details had been provided sooner in the story.

I am pleased to say that Serena and Chloe truly mend their relationship. Unfortunately, Serena and Rachel will never be close again. They can barely manage to be polite to each other. The only reason they tolerate each other is for the sake of the mission and Chloe. From what I read, I don’t believe Rachel has any redeeming qualities. While I know that Rachel’s life has been far from perfect, it certainly doesn’t in any way excuse her behavior.

Overall, I liked reading Serena’s Fall. Serena is an intriguing and well rounded character, and I’m curious to know what will happen next. Serena and Chloe accomplished a lot in this book, but the world is still in peril. I hope that Mr. Smith has a sequel planned for Serena and her friends.

This is really amazing story that I enjoyed from the second third of the book until the end. Yes, I said second third, because in the first third the story is focused on the relationship between Lily and Rhett Buchanan. But from the moment Lily is busted things get interesting. The pace become faster and things starts rolling. Meddling friends scheme to bring couple together, jealous ex-girlfriend to pull them apart. And just when things start to look good another crazy twist happens.

This is well written story with so many twists and turns. Characters might be a bit stereotypical, just like they stepped out the fairytale. There is virginal heroine who is purely good, and then there is ex-girlfriend who is purely evil. And there is a hero. Usually the prince in the fairytales is pale character but here hero is very complex and his reasons for such a strong reaction to heroine “covering of truth” are grounded and understandable. Rhett has been played and his hart was broke so he do not trust women easily

Although there is no missing shoe, I enjoyed this fairytale retelling. So if you looking for a fun and fast paced read you cannot go wrong with this one.

Daniel’s quiet, intelligent personality was well developed. It didn’t take me very long at all to get to know this character, and I only liked him even more as time went on. There were so many different parts of his personality to explore. Some of them were easy to predict ahead of time, but others definitely were not. He felt like a real person to me because of this.

I was confused by how much time was spent on the subplots. While I definitely enjoyed hearing Daniel’s thoughts about everything from his love of classical music to his funny experiences when trying out a new church, there were times when I wondered if this book wasn’t actually supposed to be a romance after all because the themes jumped around so much. At times it felt like two or three completely different stories had been fused into one. I was interested in what was going on with all of them, but I would have preferred to only focus on one in this particular tale.

While the main character spent a good deal of time explaining how he knew his crush in the beginning and why he thought Chance would never want to date him, it never slowed down the pacing of the plot. The pacing was always even and strong. I actually ended up reading the entire book in one sitting because I was never able to find a good place to take a break and I wanted to know what would happen next!

Give The Music of Love a try if you’re in the mood for something kind and gentle.

Steamy nights and a complicated relationship…this book is an interesting read.

The title of the book caught my attention. Acapulco. I’d love to go there and I was able to vicariously. The author has a smooth writing style which is easy to read. I was transported to the tropics and had a good time.

The characters are complicated. I can’t say I liked them all. I had issues with most of them. Here, let me explain. Suzie went to Acapulco, met a guy and married him. Nothing wrong with that. Hey, we all make quick decisions. The thing I kept having trouble with was her reluctance to tell anyone. I won’t go into a ton of details or give away spoilers, but I had a very hard time buying her reasoning. I didn’t think it was something to be ashamed of. Another thing Suzie did that annoyed me was she had a relationship with James–her new fiance–but couldn’t tell him. I felt awful for him. Now to be fair, I was emotionally invested, so that’s part of the reason I am team James. If she loved him that much, then he deserved the truth.

I liked James. He’s got his own problems, but he’s a good guy. I rooted for him to get a happy ending.

Then there’s Joaquin. Not going to lie, I didn’t like him. Not a bit. If that was the author’s intention then she hit the mark. I’d call him slime. But here’s where I have the rub with this story. Some of Suzie’s decisions concerning Joaquin really bothered me. Yeah, he might not be ready to give her up, but she seemed to give in to him rather easily–despite repeatedly not liking him and reminding herself she was in love with James.

Okay, so it probably seems like I didn’t like the book. Not true. It’s a good escapist story. If you’re not bothered by a bit of cheating, then this might be the book of you. While I questioned some of the actions of the characters, I did enjoy the book.

Two top athletes who have so many personal issues to deal with meet and fall in love. On their way to happy ending, they have to go through a lot of trials and tribulations.

I have a very mixed feelings about this story. On the one hand characters are great, complex and well written. I find Dylan (the hero) sweet and gentle and so supportive. The other character that falls under this category of greatness is Lorelai’s (the heroine) friend Margo. She is such a colorful lady and I enjoyed reading about her performing group called Divas.

On the other hand the relationship between Dylan and Lorelai just doesn’t seem real. The reason for that lies in the story which does not focus so much on the building their relationship as much as it deals with problems Lorelai and Dylan face individually. These problems are connected with their performance in their chosen sports and they reflect on their relationship. In case of Lorelai she was just over the top sometimes. If only story was more focused on the relationship between Lorelai and Dylan, and less on how they dealt with their problems by themselves it would have been much better.

Still there are another good parts of the story that I liked, especially the friendship between Lorelai and Margo. They are complete opposites and Margo is exactly why Lorelai need her as a friend.

Although this story was not perfect match for me, readers who like sports romances might find it interesting, as well as readers who are following this series.
