He causes way too much hurt to Lily and her friends. How the friendships survive his machinations reveals a special strength of character in the all these interesting characters.

You and Me, Always is a captivating, vicarious visit with some wonderful, good-secret-keeping characters. It’s an entertaining get-away. I’ll bet it’s been a while since you’ve read a love story that mentions a “re-velvet coffin.” Lots of fun things in this one!

I’ve just finished reading a highly enjoyable story that has summer theme to it.

I’m a fan of the author so I guess that does make me a tad biased about her stories but I can assure you, fan or not, I think you’ll fall in love with the two main characters, Fia and Elliot. What I always love about Ms. Pappano’s books is she has the uncanny knack of pairing up people who would actually make ideal lifelong partners in real life.

Fia and Elliot are well drawn characters who you immediately fall in love with. And yes, the story starts with Elliot and we learn he’s even rescued a dog! They’re not perfect people but that’s what adds to their appeal. They both have a history and sometimes that gets in their way of realizing they’re one another’s soulmates.

This is a story that has some tears, some laughter, and you find yourself turning the pages to get to their happily ever after because you feel they so deserve it.

Even the secondary characters are lovable too. While I haven’t read any other books in the Tallgrass series, it’s made me what to go check them out.

If you love an old fashioned romance, break out the lounger, grab your sunscreen and head outside to read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

The pieces are so well written they simply flow onto the pages without causing difficulty to the reader, even for those of us who do not speak French. As an added delight while reading this story, I found myself countless times saying, “what a lovely way to say that!”

The descriptions of the Loire region of France are wonderful and written in a style reminiscent of the finest travel brochures. This is the third book I’ve had the pleasure of reading by this author. All three have given me the same “traveling abroad” feel whilst still at home in my own reading chair enjoying a light romance. Her stories have the ability to whisk me away setting me down amidst the lives of people I’d enjoy knowing myself.

If you’re looking for the “perfect feel good summer read” then this book should be at the top of your list!

The reason why I called this book happy is because for all the death that visits people she likes in the story, she comes to the realization that she truly isn’t a loner after all. She has people who care about her, love her, want to protect her and she can count on them for back up. Plus she loves them back and does sweet, thoughtful, helpful and caring things automatically for anyone she can. Her positive vibes and enthusiastic urges to do good deeds are what endeared her to me, but it also made the evil conflict that much more effective, stark and shocking.

This is an actually a sweet romance because any physical aspects of romance between Zoey and Riley were relegated to wishing, hoping and a peck. The sensual does not come from anything Zoey does with her new potential boyfriend, but from the descriptions involving the succubus, Sebastian. He’s a nasty piece of work and because he’s an evil sex demon, there were some descriptions of his kissing and other things with his victims and with Zoey a time or two, but none of it was romantic in the least. The romance between heroine and possible hero is sweet, but for the interactions with the demon they were anything but. He was super creepy.

The book is told in first person point of view and the author did it so well, I was sucked into the story faster than quicksand. Ms. Naquin’s storytelling voice is a winner.

The world building in this novel is stellar and is fascinating. Sight unseen, I’ll be buying the next book in the series because I’m so impressed with Monster in My Closet. If the writing continues to be strong, vibrant, entertaining and effective, and Zoey and Riley’s relationship continues to grow like it seems to hint at, then any book afterwards is a lure I can’t resist. I enjoyed meeting Zoey and her growing paranormal family and highly recommend this to other readers looking for something fresh, easy to read and thoroughly engaging. It’s a winner.

The many secondary characters are around. For the most part, they just help set the scene for important events that propel the main characters along to their goals.

Tutored by a Duke gives the reader a vicarious adventure into the Regency Age with lots of details about the uniqueness of that age being woven in.

He set in to buy, beg, or whatever to regain the company shares that he feels are rightfully his. His actions set him on a collision course with Becca who is efficient and fair, with unquestionable integrity. However, she does have a hot temper when pushed too far.

The secondary characters, extremely important to the unfolding of the story, come alive with the author’s smooth, flowing writing style. She weaves details in so subtly the reader gets an abundance of information while the plot unfolds at an attention-keeping pace. An undercurrent of emotions bubbles throughout the story—emotions that come to a boil from time to time, in more than one way.

The author’s use of foreshadowing, symbolism, play on words, and subtle humor adds more depth and pleasure to the story.

When the tapestry of the trilogy is complete, the intertwined stories reveal a romantic history of two generations of Cooper men.

The story unfolds in a predictable progression, making it an easy, relaxing read. It kept me well entertained on an evening when I needed a respite from the real world. Since I was born and raised in Midland County and have ties to the oil business and Houston, I found the author’s views about the environment and the people fun to read. The characters, both the primary ones and the secondary ones, depict a slice of life in Texas. Much of the profanity so overused used these days did not seem to fit the characters personalities. I was disappointed to see them.

This was a first for me, I’ve heard about people who are this clumsy, but never really met them. This book brought me into the mind and life of a clumsy married woman.

Clumsy Girl’s Guide to Having a Baby does not start at or before the wedding. It starts five years into the marriage. This was a simple love story, but a love story that does a fantastic job of depicting married life. As the much anticipated follow up to Clumsy Girl’s Guide to Falling in Love, it was a neat way to see what happens when the honeymoon is over.

I loved reading about Zoe’s clumsy “accidents”. They were hilarious to the point of being almost unbelievable.

It was so easy to visualize this young woman who trips over blades of grass or air. A young woman who gets into a lot of clumsy accidents and then she gets pregnant. Gets big and can’t see her feet. If for nothing else this book should be read for the hilarity of it all.

That being said, Zoe’s clumsiness is not the only story here and that is a good thing. The book has some serious parts which made it all the more real because a marriage is sometimes serious. Couples don’t always communicate well and sometimes they disagree. It’s real life. The romance is hot but the bedroom door is firmly closed.

A clever story told mostly from Zoe’s POV but with insight into Curt’s take on it all. A very entertaining read.

I really enjoyed the slower pace of romance between Vlad and Meredith. While the chemistry and attraction is instant, neither jump straight into the hot stuff. That slow, gradual progression was wonderful to read and made the end-point all the more sweet to my mind. While sex between Vlad and Meredith was alluded to, nothing was shown in detail. There were some lovely kisses and plenty of chemistry, but the bedroom door remained firmly closed. Readers who enjoy a sweeter style of romance should find this quite appealing, but there was still enough chemistry to my mind that the story shouldn’t be overlooked by readers who enjoy a bit more spice in their books.

There were plenty of interesting secondary characters that I felt really supported the story and made it interesting. My only small disappointment was that the conflict felt a little put-on. In most respects Meredith came across as a sensible, level-headed woman. Yet when she got all twisted up over a really big order it felt a little like she lost some of that intelligence. I can totally understand getting caught up in something so important, and obsessing over it, but it felt a little out of character – almost as if the author had blown it slightly out of proportion to instigate the argument between Vlad and Meredith. The argument had a good purpose, and was well-written, but the basis for it seemed a bit strange to me. I even ended up back-tracking and rereading much of the lead-up to be sure I hadn’t missed something, and this really drew me out of the story.

That said, overall I really did enjoy reading about Meredith’s computer woes, her difficulty in juggling her various clients and starting up her new business. The characters were interesting and fun and I found this to be a sweet, mostly happy story that made it a quick, good read.
