I have a very mixed feelings about this story. On the one hand characters are great, complex and well written. I find Dylan (the hero) sweet and gentle and so supportive. The other character that falls under this category of greatness is Lorelai’s (the heroine) friend Margo. She is such a colorful lady and I enjoyed reading about her performing group called Divas.

On the other hand the relationship between Dylan and Lorelai just doesn’t seem real. The reason for that lies in the story which does not focus so much on the building their relationship as much as it deals with problems Lorelai and Dylan face individually. These problems are connected with their performance in their chosen sports and they reflect on their relationship. In case of Lorelai she was just over the top sometimes. If only story was more focused on the relationship between Lorelai and Dylan, and less on how they dealt with their problems by themselves it would have been much better.

Still there are another good parts of the story that I liked, especially the friendship between Lorelai and Margo. They are complete opposites and Margo is exactly why Lorelai need her as a friend.

Although this story was not perfect match for me, readers who like sports romances might find it interesting, as well as readers who are following this series.

Lately, I’ve read so many stories featuring second chance romance. The Royal Affair is one of those stories. In this story, Princess Marina Palmera met New Zealand horse breeder Jonas Wilder at her brother’s wedding. After spending a wonderful month together, Jonas left Marina without saying goodbye. Four years later, an older, wiser and more sophisticated Marina meet Jonas again. This time they meet in New Zealand. They still long for one another but they are not able to communicate that. Luckily, Jonas’ daughter brings them together again.

My biggest issue with second chance romances is that former lovers are sometimes so full of resentfulness. They are also often rude toward one another at the beginning of the story. It’s becoming a bit cliché. And yes, the trope is present in The Royal Affair, luckily it’s also toned down. Jonas is rude to Marina even though she was one left behind. For that reason I did not like Jonas for Marina in the beginning. To his credit, he is a caring father.

I did like Marina. She’s pictured in a realistic way. She struggles with a lot of things at the same time. Foremost with her emotions toward Jonas, and then also with the role that was gave to her by her birth. Suddenly being dutiful princess became a heavy burden for her. But luckily everything turns out just fine in the end.

The Royal Affair would be just another second chance romance if not for the end. In one of the final chapters, Marina finally put her foot down and takes a stand toward Jonas and his behavior. I adore that scene. It was so good and powerful and what is most important it lifted the story and I started to believe in Marina and Jonas’ HEA.

All in all, The Royal Affair is fun read that I recommend it to those who like royal romances and/or second chance romances.

The story focuses on building a relationship between two very wounded and fragile people. Both Kareem and Patrice have to learn to trust one another, and to let go of the past. I was hooked on the story from chapter one and wanted to know how the characters will get out from the emotional mess they got themselves into.

Both characters are well developed. At first I found Kareem a bit too much alpha, i.e. dominant and possessing, but in the end he realized a few things. He earned a lesson or two and turned out just fine. Patrice is his perfect match. She does not want to be pushed around by anyone. She’s a strong and independent girl who knows how to take a stand. The conflict between Kareem and Patrice is well done and realistic and it is character driven. Also, the sex scenes are well written and very hot. Furthermore, I liked the interaction that Kareem and Patrice have with their respective families, and also I liked their families. They are complete opposite, but they both care about their members.

Still the story has a few weak points. I couldn’t understand why Kareem and Patrice choose to stay in her parent’s house when her parents obviously didn’t like him. Also, I could not quite understand how Patrice’s older brother can have a teen son when their parents are celebrating 30 years marriage anniversary.

Beside this I enjoyed reading this story. It was a fast and fun read.

They have really super-hot sex and then they decide to give their relationship a try.

Simple plot does not mean story without issues. On the contrary, the author manages to deal with two issues that are taboo, in a way, and are often criticize by society. One is relationship between younger woman and older man. In this story it was 25 years plus age difference. And second, closely connected with the first one is independent young girl having relationship with very, very rich man. Taking into account the length of the story, the author did a good job in rising and solving these two issues. They were resolved in very satisfying manner, without too much drama. Characters are also fairly good written. The story is told from the third person POV, but the voice of the heroine is dominant. Her character is more developed while hero’s stayed in the shadow.

I have to admit that there were a few eye-rolling moments while reading Some Sugar, Some Spice One of them was when Aubrey came to Clark’s house and she suddenly realize that Clark is super rich, although he was driving her in his Bentley and Aston Martin. Luckily, moments like these were in minority and they can be easily removed by editing the story one more time.

All in all this was fast and satisfying read. Great for a beach.

Sig’s life turned out for the better, and he is a billionaire. On the other hand Noelle’s life turned for the worst, and now she is forced to steal from him in order to get out of debt.

Since this is an introduction not much can be said about the characters, just that Noelle is a solo player but she is so deep in trouble that eventually she will be forced to turn to Sig for help. Also it is obvious that they are both still have feelings for one another.

The author made a good beginning of the story. She established a good sense of time and place and I was immediately pulled into this fast paced story. Now that I tasted it I want it more. I will keep a close eye for the second story in the series and I will definitely read it.

Ever since I saw Notting Hill, I like books, movies, and TV shows featuring romances between a celebrity and a non-celebrity. For that particular reason, I decided to read The Ex-Factor. It turns out The Ex-Factor is not so much a romance novel, but chick lit; which wouldn’t be a problem if the blurb indicated that (it sounded very much like a romance) or if more emphasis had been put on the relationship between hero and heroine.

The Ex-Factor is an interesting story about finding yourself and making the peace with your past. In some parts the story was very predictable, and the romantic part is too superficial for my taste, but taking everything into account i.e. characters, development of the story, writing, I enjoyed reading it.

The story started strong, with a slap on the movie set where hero and heroine met and in no time heroine was moving from Australia to the USA. Wow, talk about fast love. But what I missed from this fast love is how and why they fell in love. I didn’t feel the connection between Mitchell and Kitty. I think that a few more scenes and more dialogue between the two of them and the story would be perfect.

Speaking of Mitchell, he’s somewhere in the back of the story and not fully developed. I couldn’t say that he is the main character. The author did much better characterization of Kitty’s best friend Adam and her sister Frances; they are such great secondary characters. Also Kitty, oh Kitty, she is sweet and strong, and life has thrown her some serious punches. Once she got rid of the ghosts from the past she was able to live and love again. I was so happy that everything turned out just fine for her.

Readers who like chick lit that focuses more on a heroine’s trials and not so much on the romance should give this one a try.

But in the second part it turns into contemporary romance. This was a nice surprise for me, because the author allowed a peek into what happens once that couple is married.

Writing in this story is simplistic; sentences are short as well as dialogues. There are no large and detailed descriptions, so the pace of the story is pretty fast, which is a plus. Beside this and the twist there are other things I liked about this story. I liked the interaction between hero and heroine and how they slowly fall in love, and how that love changes them. I loved the second part of the story, where heroine showed great initiative, and took the matter into own her hands.

But there were also things I didn’t like. The characters:  if they are real people I wouldn’t like to hang out with them. The heroine is too insecure for no reason, and co-dependent on the hero. The hero is too stubborn and too alpha for my taste. Although they are not my type of the people it is good that they are not perfect. The writer made a great thing showing to the readers their weaknesses and that way she makes them human.

In spite of these issues, Tell Me a Secret is worth reading, especially if you are a fan of this genre and you are looking for a story with a twist.

Tell Me a Secret is not the best New Adult book that I read, but it is worth reading, especially if you are a fan of this genre and you are looking for a story with a twist.

I really liked Danny’s character. He’s a great guy, caring, solid, lovely. I also like how the story develops. I said that it’s predictable because it’s pretty obvious who will win Ruth’s heart in the end, but the story has a few nice surprises. Secondary characters were also great.

This story is really worth reading, it’s a quick read, full of great British humor, friendship and love.

Starter Wife falls within the second category. I even put it aside after the first half and returned to it after a week. Am I ever glad that I did return to reading it and did not gave up on the book because it turned out to be a really good story!

As the book opens the reader meets Linnea King at her lowest. She is taking the punches (figuratively speaking) from her ex-husband, who left her with three kids (one of them with Down’s Syndrome), no money and visitations from child protection services. At the beginning Linnea is a woman with no self-esteem because years of psychological abuse took its toll. Gradually as the story progresses, the heroine, with a little determination and help from her sexy neighbor and a few other friends, gets her confidence back. She becomes stronger, so she can have her revenge. In the process she also found the love of her life.

I find Starter Wife to be a very interesting and empowering story because there are many women out there who helped their husbands build their careers only to be left with kids and no job in the end. Linnea made it; she got her groove back and her life back on track, but it wasn’t easy. I found Linnea’s character amazing. At the beginning she wallows a bit in self-pity, but once she takes her life in her own hands, she turns out to be smart, funny and an interesting woman. Although she finds a new love (true one) and married him, she does not made same mistake twice and so, at the end she becomes economically independent as well. On the other hand, the hero, TJ Gates (sexy as hell) is a bit too much for me. He is a great character and he also grows through the story but he too much alpha for me.

Starter Wife is cross between women’s fiction and a romance novel. The story focuses on Linnea’s life – her trials and ordeals and on her relationship with TJ Gates; but really it’s a bit more focused on her getting her life back on track. Both storylines are well combined and the writing in general is great. The pace of the story is a bit slow at the beginning but it speeds up in the second half. Starter Wife is not an instant “falling in love” kind of story and it has only one lovemaking scene but it’s a book with a solid character driven plot.

All in all Starter Wife is worth reading, and it made me want to read other stories by Moriah Densley. It is a cozy read that made me feel good. I highly recommend it.

This is an absolutely amazing story. Before I elaborate further I would really like to say it one more time: Amazing story. Although it is relatively short it is perfectly written, without loose ends, everything here is in its place.

Never Been Kissed is story about Shelly MacIsaac and her relationship with two wonderful, but a bit different, men. One is, her colleague and IT expert, Christian and the other is her trainer, kickboxing instructor and Christian’s friend, Lance. The relationship between three of them started as interesting friendship only to turn into intimate sexual relationship. But what makes this story different from so many erotic romances that I read is that before they became intimate they fell in love. Their love is palpable, as well as erotic/ sexual tension between the three of them. And that is what makes this story so sensual and so beautiful.

Everything in Never Been Kissed is amazing. The characters are equally developed. Each one of them has its own character arch and each realized something by the end of the story, something that makes him/ her a better person. The relationship between three of them is also amazingly written, it goes step by step, there is no rush, and what is the most important, all the sex scenes are an integral part of this threesome relationship because through them the author is also showing the progress of this interesting relationship. Sex scenes are highly sensual, magnificently written and, oh, so hot.

I also like the positive message of this story; and that is love your body and enjoy sex with the partner(s) you love.

Reading Never Been Kissed was an amazing experience for me. I highly recommend this story.
