Grace is very sweet and probably the most patient woman in the world. No matter how difficult her patients are, she manages to handle them without losing her temper. She even manages to do it all with a smile plastered on her face. As if snippy patients weren’t enough, Dr. Beeth, her boss, is beyond difficult. Horrible doesn’t even begin to describe the way Dr. Beeth treats Grace. He belittles her every chance he gets. Grace’s only flaw seems to be her low self-esteem, and with Dr. Beeth harping on her year after year, Grace definitely needs a boost. When Grace finally meets a guy who makes her heart skip a beat, Dr. Beeth strikes again. Will Grace finally stand up to her boss, or let love slip through her fingers?

Bruce and Grace are a great couple. They kept me chuckling throughout the book with their goofy jokes and teasing. It is clear that they are both are head over heels for each other from the moment they meet, and Bruce does some pretty crazy stuff in order to be with Grace. I found his actions a little hard to believe at times, but they were such a cute couple that it was easy to set aside my doubts and enjoy their romance.

I do wish there had been more explanation as to why Dr. Beeth was so mean to Grace. I understand some people are just nasty in general, but Dr. Beeth seemed to single Grace out quite a bit. As I read, I kept expecting some clarification regarding his treatment of her, but it never happened. Consequently, I found Dr. Beeth’s violent and irrational behavior simply absurd.

I also would have liked some of the secondary characters to be more rounded. All the good characters were very good and the bad characters were uniformly bad. The story would have seemed more realistic if some of the other characters would have had a bit more depth.

Despite this issue, I enjoyed reading Flossophy of Grace. It is fun, sweet, and easy to read in an afternoon. Looking for a light romance? Check out Flossophy of Grace.

Can you recapture a lost love?

Thirty-four years ago, they were each other’s first romance. For three magical months, Nate Boltz and Emily Sutherland worked together at a Michigan resort and fell passionately in love. But when the summer ended, Emily moved back home and their relationship faded.

Now Nate is the town’s police chief. When a skeleton is uncovered at the resort, the bones are identified as a girl who disappeared right after that tumultuous summer. Looking for answers, Nate reaches out to the resort’s former staff–including Emily.

But can they find a way forward from the old memories to something more permanent?

Or does the murderer have other plans for the reunited lovers from that magical summer?

Are Nate and Emily truly in love, or just in love with the past?

Nate and Emily certainly have a passionate romance. I think their first encounter with each other is a bit strange. Emily talked about some very personal stuff with a man she hardly knew. Even though I thought this was odd, it is clear right from the start that Nate and Emily have great chemistry, and I looked forward to learning about their epic summer romance. I do think that too much of their relationship revolved around sex. Since they were each other’s first serious relationship, I understand how powerful that physical connection can be, but Nate and Emily spent most of their time together either having sex or talking about it. Even when they were spending time together outside the bedroom, their thoughts still revolved around sex. It became a bit much after a while, and the sexual tension began to lose its impact.

There is also no real explanation as to why Nate and Emily didn’t stay in touch, especially since Emily managed to stay in touch with other people from that summer. After everything they went through, I find it hard to believe that their relationship simply faded into the background. I understand that they would have been trying to make a long distance relationship work in a time before cell phones, email, and the internet, but I would have thought the intensity of their relationship would have warranted more effort on both their parts.

Watching Nate and Emily reconnect was fun and frustrating at the same time. Everyone else in town already knows that they are meant to be together. Nate and Emily never really got over each other and are thrilled at the prospect of reconnecting. However, they are so hung up on the past they can’t decide if what they feel is love or nostalgia for their summer of romance. Nate and Emily jump into a physical relationship almost immediately, making it even harder for them to sort out their feelings. I couldn’t help but shake my head as they alternated between jumping into bed with each other and having fights born out of jealousy and a lack of trust. Despite my frustration with how they handled their relationship, I enjoyed watching Nate and Emily work together to solve the mystery, and their happy ending is well deserved.

I found it pretty easy to figure out who the murderer was. Once clues started emerging, I was able to piece them together pretty quickly. Then it just became a matter of waiting for Nate and Emily to figure it out. I can’t say much about the culprit without spoiling the ending, but I will say it is easy to see why this character got away with everything for so long. I must also warn readers that there is a graphic description of a near rape that is very unsettling. Ms. Wilson paced the mystery very well by alternating chapters between the present and the past. It was a very effective way to gradually reveal the mystery of the past and how it connected to the present.

I enjoyed reading Resorts, Regrets, and Returning to Love. I recommend it to anyone looking for a mystery with a healthy dose of romance.

When Alexis James arrives at her first assignment in months, she anticipates the danger and violence rife in her calling as a Lycan Hunter. What she doesn’t expect is a handsome, blue-eyed wolf saving her life and kidnapping her. Surrounded by the enemy, Alexis must not only survive her prisoners but the bonds of a different sort that begin to form against her will.

Mikko Kyran was chosen by the gods to lead his pack, and he has made it his mission to end the eight thousand years of war plaguing his people. The Alpha never suspected that the key to the prophecy ending the Forever War would be held by a smart-mouthed, sexy Hunter determined to kill him.

Can two people from different worlds set aside everything they know about one another long enough to survive retribution from the Hunters, the pack, and the gods? Or will their differences start a war that neither can win?

Will the tension between Lycans and Hunters end, or explode with renewed hostility?

Ms. Jordan did a brilliant job of crafting a beautiful world full of interesting and unique characters. She clearly spent a lot of time precisely organizing the lifestyles and histories of the gods, Lycans, and Hunters. She even provides a glossary at the end of the book, which I enjoyed. Provided with such excellent detail, I was able to completely immerse myself in the Ms. Jordan’s book.

Alexis definitely has my sympathy. She has spent her entire life trying to prove worth to people who should have loved her unconditionally. Alexis is clearly emotionally damaged from her upbringing. However, I was very pleased to watch her begin to heal once she met Kyran. The Hunter lifestyle is shocking in its stark lack of love or compassion of any kind, so when Alexis meets Kyran’s pack, she experiences a huge cultural shock. After reading the blurb, I expected a lot of opposition concerning Kyran and Alexis from both Hunters and Lycans. However, there was very little opposition from Kyran’s pack. I found this surprising since the Hunters are ruthless in their attempts to eradicate Lycans. However, Kyran’s pack really embrace Alexis as one of their own, which is something Alexis never even experienced with her own family.

I’m not really sure how I feel about the gods. They remind me of the Greek gods in that they are very human in their behavior. The gods and their motivations are extremely murky and they apparently have no qualms about interfering with the lives of Lycans and Hunters alike. The gods also clearly have some big agenda for Alexis and they seem to do whatever they like regardless of whether or not she is ready for it. Lykil, the god of destruction, is the most intriguing god. He has taken a liking to Alexis, and I’m curious to see what role he will play in her life.

I’m not exactly sure what to make of the prophecy regarding Lycans and Hunters. Kyran and Alexis seemed to be on the right track, but that didn’t exactly pan out how I thought it would. Again, the gods are confusing in their behavior. I’m very curious about what happens next to Alexis and Kyran. Are they still the key to ending the war, or have they completely misunderstood the meaning of the prophecy?

I hope Ms. Jordan has a sequel in the works because I have a feeling that once readers get a taste of the Gardinian world, they’ll be hungry for more.

Inheriting the bulk of Ms. Addie Bynum’s wealth is a godsend, but moving to the small town of Legend, Tennessee, to get that money is a big pain. Ms. Addie has given Jeremy a second chance under certain conditions. Will he take that chance?

Marty Fields is a pet psychic. She’s spent a lifetime explaining animal communication to skeptic citizens of her small town. Only Ms. Addie understands her gift. Keeping Ms. Addie’s six cats after the old lady’s death is the least Marty can do. Yet, she’s put her life on hold. Will the grandnephew’s arrival upset the rhythm of her comfortable existence?

Have you ever wondered what your pet is thinking?

Jeremy is definitely not an animal lover, and now his financial future and the fate of his business is in the paws of six cats. Jeremy’s frustration is completely understandable. He isn’t heartless in regards to his late aunt. He is just trying to save his company and the employees who depend on him. Marty doesn’t like the situation any more than Jeremy. She is just trying to honor the wishes of Ms. Addie, the only person who cared for Marty and accepted her unusual gift. Marty gently tries to give Jeremy helpful hints in dealing with the cats, but I don’t think Jeremy is trying very hard. Will Jeremy, Marty, and the cats find a way to coexist, or will the cats run Jeremy out of the house before the month is over?

Jeremy and Marty’s situation certainly is unique. However, I don’t think they were as rounded as they could have been. Jeremy is the typical uptight businessman trying to prove he can be a success, but ends up missing out on life in the process. Marty is the quirky young woman shunned by her small town looking for love and acceptance. Also, Jeremy and Marty always seem to be uncomfortable around each other. I expected them to be nervous at first, but hoped things would change as the story progressed. However, they didn’t spend very much time together and their interactions never really smoothed out. Whenever they spent any length of time around each other, it was always awkward. Consequently, their connection never clicked for me and their romance didn’t feel natural.

The cats were the real stars of Heart to Heart. The cats all had distinct personalities and their antics were hilarious. I’ve always had fun imagining what my pets are saying, so reading Ms. Scarbrough’s interpretation of how animals communicate was very entertaining and brought a smile to my face.

Overall, I liked Heart to Heart. It is a light and fun romance sure to delight animal lovers. Looking for a pleasant book to read in one sitting? I recommend giving Heart to Heart a try.

And she found that a close encounter with a “crumpet” can change a life forever.

Gill’s trip to England is about to get much more interesting.

Poor Gill. What should have been a wonderful experience is practically ruined by a bunch of snobby women. I was drawn into Gill’s story from the moment I started reading. I could clearly picture Gill sitting in a café lamenting how terrible her trip had been. To top it all off, she missed the one thing she’d truly been looking forward to. The whole situation was a complete nightmare. Then Simon appeared like a ray of sunshine after the storm. His kindness and positive attitude is exactly what Gill needed

I have often thought that it is hard to really get to know characters in short stories. However, Ms. Cunningham skillfully revealed what kind of woman Gill is through her conversations and interactions with Simon. Gill’s night out with Simon is nothing short of magical. He shows Gill a side of London she never would have experienced with her snooty traveling companions. While I thought some parts of the ending were a little over the top, Ms. Cunningham does a great job of building chemistry between Gill and Simon that absolutely sizzles. This made it easy to believe they could have such an intense connection after knowing each other for such a short time.

Close Encounter with a Crumpet was an absolute delight to read. I had a great time traveling around London with Gill and Simon, who is a true gentleman. I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, fast paced romance.

All while contemplating sleeping with her ex again. Sound unfair for a single woman battling through life? Or is it Fairy Nuff?

A fun story of one woman’s quest for love and search for the right wish to bring her happiness.

Julie can wish for anything she wants, but what does she really want?

I think that most people at one point in their lives have wished for magical powers of some sort, but no one expects it to actually happen. When Julie finds herself stuck in a fairy costume with magical powers, she’s understandably overwhelmed. At first she’s giddy with the knowledge of her newly discovered powers and is eager to test them out, but her excitement is short lived and it isn’t long before Julie simply wants to be rid of the costume and the powers. However, the costume seems to be stuck to her for a reason. Will Julie figure out the reason for her powers, or will she be a fairy forever?

I knew from the moment I read the title that Fairy Nuff was a book I had to read. I was in the mood for something funny and this tale certainly lived up to my expectations. Fairy Nuff is filled with laugh out loud moments. Ms. Killick managed to make the completely ridiculous predicaments Julie found herself in believable. While I was rolling with laughter for a good portion of the book, there were also some very touching and tender moments sprinkled throughout the story. The idea that being stuck in a magical fairy costume can teach a person some life lessons sounds outrageous, and yet it is completely true for Julie. I’m amazed at how much Julie’s life changed and how much she learned. Julie was forced to take a good look at her life and figure out what really mattered. I also think the costume protected Julie in a weird way. Before Julie became an unwilling fairy, she was headed down a path she would have ultimately regretted. Getting stuck in that costume might have been the best thing that ever happened to Julie.

I do think that the ending was a little abrupt. Throughout the book, Julie has some very promising and flirty encounters with a good looking guy. I would have liked to see even more interaction between Julie and the new man in her life. I think this would have made the ending more satisfying and left me with more hope for Julie’s romantic future.

I’m glad I was given the opportunity to read Fairy Nuff. Julie is a very likable character and her adventures provided me with a lot of laughs as I read. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys a well written romantic comedy.

It’s hard enough being a seventeen year old Veil Walker, but when your boyfriend’s a demigod and your mom’s dating a soul sucker, things can get a lot worse.

Pandora has seen ghosts since she was a kid, and now she learns she can bring back the spirits of the dead. Why would she do that? She has enough trouble getting rid of the ones stuck on this side. One annoyingly perky ghost wants Pandora to find her killer, but Ukwa, her super-hot boyfriend, doesn’t like the idea.

Is ignorance really bliss?

I truly feel sorry for Pandora. She knows very little about her abilities as a Veil Walker. With no one to teach her about her power, every day is a struggle, and Pandora constantly lives in fear of accidentally acknowledging a ghost in front of others. Consequently, Pandora has no close friends. A particularly bad encounter with a ghost followed by an argument with her father prompts Pandora to go and live with her mom in Florida. Pandora is hoping for a fresh start, but she soon learns that she can’t hide from her problems.

Pandora’s relationship with her parents is beyond messed up. It is clear that her parents love her, but neither of them really act like parents. While it is understandable for parents to have interests and lives outside of their children, Pandora’s parents have taken this to the extreme. They are so self-involved that they completely ignore their daughter at times. I found the whole situation quite disturbing, especially when Pandora’s dad makes a particularly shocking revelation toward the end of the book. Honestly, I’m amazed that Pandora is sane given the nature of her power and the complete lack of familial support.

Pandora is very strong and she has managed to hold herself together without help from anyone else for a long time. However, I really enjoyed watching her blossom when she made some friends at her new school. In a short time, I saw a lot of positive changes in Pandora. She still has some issues to work through, but having others to confide in has gone a long way in bringing Pandora out of her shell.

Pandora’s connection with Ukwa is intense and complicated. They have excellent chemistry, but his refusal to give her straight answers about her power is very annoying. While his intentions might be good, he ended up treating her like a child. I think it would have been more effective if he would have respected her and had an honest conversation with her right from the start. Despite this issue, Pandora and Ukwa make a wonderful, if unusual, couple. Even though they find themselves in some intense situations, I really like that they make time to talk and really getting to know each other.

Nancy, the ghost, is definitely my favorite secondary character. I could clearly picture her flitting around, laughing, causing mischief, and playing with Pandora’s dog. Nancy’s perky attitude was a nice contrast to Pandora’s more serious moods and the darker events of the story.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to read Pandora’s Jar. I found the concept of a Veil Walkers very intriguing, and I still have a lot of questions buzzing around in my head. I certainly hope that Ms. Riddle has plans for a sequel soon so I can satisfy my curiosity. Fans of paranormal romance won’t want to miss Pandora’s Jar.

But her attraction for the mysterious single father has Ari ignoring her animal instincts.

Can the big, bad wolf live happily ever after, DESPITE THE FANGS?

Is Mason everything he claims to be, or will Ari’s heart be broken again?

Ari certainly is an interesting character. She is prickly and likable all at the same time. Her bravado and foul mouth is matched only by her enormous appetite. I found myself chuckling over her behavior several times as I read. Despite her harsh exterior, all Ari really wants is a happy ending. Unfortunately, a disastrous engagement years ago has permanently put Ari off all things romantic, or so she thinks. When Ari crosses paths with Mason, he awakens feelings in her she thought were long dead. However, Ari has a feeling that Mason isn’t being entirely truthful with her. As I watched Ari and Mason’s story unfold, I couldn’t help but wonder if Mason was the hero, or a cleverly disguised villain.

Ari and Mason have great chemistry and an intense connection that leads to some sizzling love scenes. Ari finds Mason’s scent to be intoxicating, and she literally craves his touch. However, there are trust issues always lurking just under the surface. Consequently, I had a hard time getting in to their romance. While Ari never gets the feeling that Mason is lying, he certain is leaving things out. Mason’s behavior always made me question his motives. For a man who claims to be in dire need of help to rescue his son, he seems to be taking his sweet time about it. As a parent, I know I would be an absolute wreck if someone took my child from me. While it is clear that Mason is concerned for his son’s well being, he certainly doesn’t seem to be as desperate as he claims. This should have been a red flag for Ari, but she keeps pushing aside her instincts in favor of trusting a man she really doesn’t know. While some of my misgivings were proven true, I’m happy to report my worst suspicions were not. I do think that certain plot points needed more explanation. When I finished reading, I still had questions about how much Mason planned in advance as well as questions about a sensitive state Ari finds herself in at the end of the book.

I really enjoyed Ms. Newton’s take on werewolves. Instead of glamorizing shape shifters, Ms. Newton chose to show cases the strengths and weaknesses of both the animal and human forms of her characters. This really grounded her story and helped make her characters believable.

I had fun reading Despite the Fangs. Ari is an entertaining heroine, and I found it easy to cheer for her. Does the werewolf get her happy ending? Read Despite the Fangs to find out.

Despite her best intentions to keep the handsome sheriff at arm’s length, Katy can’t help but admire his honesty, and his kindness. All too quickly, she finds her resolve weakening as Mitch convinces her to trust again.

Can Katy’s broken heart be mended?

Katy is an amazingly resilient woman given the path her life took six years ago. The tragic circumstances of Katy’s life are conveyed very quickly and without any graphic details. However, Ms. Fraser provides enough to give me a sense of what Katy had to do to survive as well as protect her young children. Katy immediately won my respect and sympathy. Despite the hardship she’s endured, Katy is still a strong and loving woman. She never let her life with Tobias break her. While she is understandably slow to trust, Katy still tries to see the best in others. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly Katy makes friends given the fact that she’d been isolated from society for so many years.

Katy and Mitch make a wonderful couple. I really like how slow and gentle Mitch is with Katy. He never pushes her and always lets the relationship progress at her pace. I enjoyed watching Katy learn what a relationship between a man and a woman could be. Clearly, Katy’s children are the priority of her life. Fortunately, Mitch is great with Katy’s children. His interactions with them are natural and completely genuine. I do think that Mitch and his relationship with Katy are a little too perfect. Katy and Mitch encounter a small hiccup on the path to their happy ending, but it was resolved before it became a serious issue. I would have liked that situation to be teased out a bit to give Katy and Mitch’s relationship more depth.

A Saved Woman is a truly enjoyable read. Katy is definitely an admirable character, and Mitch might be the kindest and most generous hero I’ve ever encountered. I recommend A Saved Woman to anyone looking for an uplifting tale of love and kindness.

In addition to the motel and the man next door, Savvy stumbles on a plot to swindle land from the residents of Barefoot Key. Devalued properties tumble like dominoes until Savvy musters her colorful crew from The Gull Motel to make the pillagers walk the plank.

Savvy has some great ideas for revitalizing The Gull Motel, but is it too little too late?

Savvy sure has a lot on her plate for a young woman fresh out of college. Not only is she completely in charge of The Gull Motel, but she is also trying to gain acceptance into a training program that would give her access to the finest hotels in the country. However, as Savvy puts more time and effort into sprucing up The Gull, she finds that the old motel and its quirky staff are quickly wiggling their way into her heart. As if that weren’t enough, Savvy unearths a plan that might threaten everything the residents of Barefoot Key hold dear. Can Savvy save The Gull and the community before it’s too late?

Savvy is definitely a woman who works hard and always plays by the rules. She does her absolute best no matter what job she’s been given. Even though Savvy plans on getting into that special training program, she doesn’t treat The Gull as second best. She works hard to make improvements without losing sight of what makes The Gull special. I admire her dedication and integrity.

Savvy and Skip are an interesting couple to watch. They have really good chemistry, but I thought it was a little odd that they never truly addressed their spring break fling. Savvy and Skip have been dancing around their attraction for years, and Ms. Denman provides a few glimpses into their hormone charged past. However, I was left wanting more. Knowing a bit more about their history would have made Savvy and Skip’s romance more compelling.

I must say that the Halloween party and the costumes of the motel staff is my favorite part of the story, especially Savvy’s costume. I won’t spill all the details. However, I will say that I have to give Savvy credit for not only trusting Skip to pick out the costume, but also for actually wearing it to the party. This really showed that Savvy can let go and have some fun and doesn’t take herself too seriously after all.

The mystery surrounding the nefarious plans for Barefoot Key was pretty simple. Even though it was quickly and easily solved, it still served to add just the right amount of tension into this otherwise light and fun romance.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Gull Motel. I had fun watching Savvy balance the challenges of managing a motel and her personal life. Not quite ready to leave summer behind? Pick up a copy of The Gull Motel for an afternoon of pure entertainment.
