I found this book totally absorbing. I smiled at Vic’s attempts to persuade her neighbors to respect other people but when these failed dismally, she took the law into her own hands.

Vic did all the things we wished we could do when faced with similar situations. How often have people wished they could sink someone’s speedboat because their noisy races intruded on peace and quiet? An afternoon bird watching spoiled when loud music frightens away the birds. A peaceful night on the deck watching the moon and stars reflect on the water spoiled by idiots careening around throwing empty beer cans into the water. There are ways to stop this, but such attempts usually result in a visit by the police.

Vic’s actions weren’t legal and at times they were lethal, but it seemed every time she got rid of one hazard, another reared its ugly head. The book has to be read from beginning to end. I mean I had to read it as I needed to know if she succeeded in recovering her peace and quiet or did she have to move? Good book, unusual topic but well written.

She also finds her life is not completely destroyed and she can begin to live and love again.

This is cleverly written with delightful characters, each of them unique in their own way. The older ladies and men are exactly as one would expect – full of fun and devilment.

A truly enjoyable book which dragged me in and wouldn’t let me stop reading until I got to the unexpected conclusion.

I enjoyed reading Amish Baby Snatched and found it written in the style of romance books of a few decades ago, although the content is totally present day. At the end of the book I felt satisfied with the story and the conclusion.

I could sympathize with her when her world seemed to be going right, only to take a turn for the worse. The number of times this happened seemed to cast doom over her life, but she carried on trying.

Things come to a head when the Fey decide to go to battle on Earth, rather than their own domain. I did wonder if Carla would sit back and let things happen without any protest, especially as Murphy seemed determined to protect her no matter what. A satisfactory but unexpected ending ties up the story nicely.

I believe this is part of a series, but this book has a strong storyline is definitely a stand alone novel.

I think this book is extremely well written and good reading. I sat down to see what it was like and didn’t get up again until I’d finished it. Wonderful story with oodles of intrigue and conflict. One grandmother can see no way out of the dilemma of Amelia’s betrothal while the other feels it best to end the engagement so her grandson can court the woman he loves. Percy has his own ideas on the future and this brings about the conflict.

One thing I would say is the title tends to give away the end of the story. Not completely, but maybe the last word could be left out of the title.

Often when I read a Regency romance I feel I want to shout at the hero and heroine to stop being so stupid and talk to one another. Not this time. The pair did talk, the heroine was not afraid to speak her mind both to the hero and her fiancé, not that it did her much good, but she did have her say. The author has written a really good book, short but sharp and engaging.

Shawn and Sam set out to stop the murder and destruction.

An unusual and intriguing book. It started with murder, then carried on into the mysterious disappearance of a whole finance company along with records of Shawn’s past. The author created a world to fit in with a future Earth and I could honestly believe things might turn out this way.

The only thing I couldn’t understand was the title. The Eighth Day. I presume this refers to the seven days of creation and this development of clones is the eighth, but I don’t believe it fits very well with the book. The end of the book hinted there might be another in the pipeline. I hope so because the story tended to have an unfinished feeling.

Good book, well written and presented. I would definitely read a sequel to this one.

A few amusing incidents interspersed with edgy conversations and scenes held the story together and kept me reading.

A good book with bright characters who got me on their side as I wanted them to win their heart’s desire.

This book is really entertaining. It provides the propriety of the time with a little bit of spice and danger in the mix. Kitty often finds herself in awkward circumstances when she hasn’t thought things through properly, or in some cases thought too much about the need to earn money and not upset Stratford’s father.

When the seamier side of the age interrupts her dalliance with the Bexley men, it is up to her sisters to save her.

This is the beginning of an entrancing series and I really enjoyed the twisting of Kitty’s feelings from one man to the other.

An unusual historical novel set mainly in Bedlam, the well known Regency madhouse in London. Lydia Sullyard is dragged away to Bedlam without any reason being given for her incarceration. Her family desperately try to obtain her release, but they are refused permission to see her. However, her brother-in-law’s cousin, Stratford Bexley, manages to gain admittance and then comes daily to visit her. Lydia had developed feelings for Stratford before her isolation from society, but knew the man would never feel the same about her.

The author has researched her subject well. The inner thoughts of Lydia could have been boring but instead Lydia’s thoughts and reactions to her situation are engaging and made me want to read on. I don’t know how anyone survived the hell of Bedlam in real life – the rats, the screams of truly mad people, the brutality of the wardens – but Lydia’s way of coping was truly inspirational.

I did however have one moment of confusion. Who arranged Lydia’s release?

A very good regency novel with the two main characters gradually growing to respect and understand each other. Lydia softens and Stratford becomes more human. Very good book.
