She gets more than she anticipates when his friend joins in and she gets the fantasy night of a lifetime. He doesn’t do relationships, preferring kinky ménages to keep things from getting serious. Besides, who would want a man with a family legacy of abuse?
One night with Tess turns everything upside down. She’s everything he isn’t, yet he can’t get past the notion that she’s the woman who could change his life…and abolish the curse that hounds his family name.
Clancy is a hardworking cowboy who likes to play as hard as he works. Tess isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty either, whether it be out in the barn or in the bedroom. Their antics let me know that this couple would have their ups and downs but they would always work it out in the kinkiest of ways.
Clancy is a character I can see a bit of in most men. He fails to recognize the man he is and instead focuses on the man he doesn’t want to be. That is why it was easy for me to recognize immediately how much he truly needed Tess to show him the man all of her friends have come to love. He seems so put together to the outside world, but he really hid a broken man inside which made him seem real to me, and which made me like him even more.
Tess too has suffered tragedy in her life that has helped mold who she is. While Clancy has chosen to distance himself, she instead had to buckle down and take charge for her younger siblings. This made her a instant success in my mind because any woman who will put her life on hold to care for others deserves to find happiness. I could also relate to her because she fails to see that she too deserves happiness. I would have liked to see her getting taken care of as much as see seems to do for others. Maybe in another story I will get to see how see can let her hair down a bit and depend on others a little.
The erotic play within this story is spectacular. There is truly something for everyone. I also really enjoyed that while Tess and Clancy may have invited someone else into their bedroom, they did not let that person into their hearts or emotional relationship. It made me understand and appreciate what they had even more. They also seemed to be happy giving what the other person wants in the bedroom as well as outside, even if it is a little light bondage or control.
The author’s ability to write both believable characters and a story line made this story a stand out for me. I would not be surprised to find out that these characters and their story is not based on someone the author may know or from true life experience. Sometimes truth is better than fiction, and this story just seemed to have a ring of truth to it for me, which indeed made it better than many off the wall fictional stories I have read.
