Not surprising, they were both wrong. Enter the one who got away who also happens to be the one who can bridge the missing piece between Ty and Gibb.

I really enjoyed this book but that didn’t surprise me. Everything I’ve ever read of Ms. Redford’s was purely entertaining. The plot isn’t heavy, the dialogue between these three (especially when Ty opens his mouth) is straight up dirty, and there’s just the right amount of heart and story outside the threesome to give it substance and purpose. Kayla’s issues with her mom and later a secondary character built some tension into the story to see how or if their difference would be resolved. While resolution isn’t absolute in this story it did leave an opening to come back to these character later.

I wanted Kayla to be as bold in real life as she was in her writing. It made it all the more sweeter that it was the encouragement of the two men who had loved her forever that helped her see her own worth. This isn’t a one sided relationship, which was nice. Kayla gives the men what they need to be able to open up and be honest with each. Once they all agree about what they want, be prepared for some serious fire and creativity. If the idea of double-penetration has you feeling a little light headed you might want to reconsider this book but I’d encourage readers to give it a chance. Ms. Redford makes a very good argument for pushing the envelope. I’ll be interested to see what she does next.

Speaking of future books, Ty’s sister Bailey reveals a tantalizing secret towards the end of the book that has me so excited to read the next book. I can’t reveal what but it also had me flipping back through the story to see if there were telling hints that I had missed.

This is going to be a fun little series to read and there are plenty of single characters left over in Wicked Shores (great name for a town, BTW) to keep me coming back for more if Ms. Redford chooses to write their stories. This is one reader who has her fingers crossed! I hope you’ll join me in this quaint little seaside town for all the excitement of friends coming home, families reuniting and love in the most unexpected places.

I like visiting this alternate reality in space created by Ms. Burkhart, and enjoy the role reversal that is so well depicted, with the women in charge in battle or in the home, and the men are the more domesticated ones. The characters in this are all very strong and determined, and as with all of Ms. Burkhart’s people, multifaceted and charismatic. I will say up front, this is not for everyone, but those who enjoy challenge and something new and unusual, this is a delightful, if darkly erotic, treat.

Lady Violet Blackmyre is strong, determined and ready to face death, but only on her terms. She wants to free her ‘pony’ Cole, but he is having none of it. When she sees the man, the magnificent ‘stallion’ that Cole has rescued, she is determined to help him as much as she can before she becomes too weak to be of any help. I like Lady Blackmyre’s spirit, her honesty and her sense of fair play in her life. I enjoyed watching as she was able to ‘gentle’ Arthur, showing him kindness and discipline at the same time.

Cole, Lady Blackmyre’s favorite ‘pony’ is charming, generous and shows an inner strength when he fights for what he wants. I like that he refuses to be freed from the stable, and is determined to keep his place at Lady Blackmyre’s side, without knowing about her illness and the toll it is taking. I like that he risked himself to help another man, not for any reward, but because of the injustice and cruelty he saw being aimed at Arthur.

Arthur is determined to remain separate and hold on to his sense of shame at what was done to him, and at the desires inside that he feels make him wrong. Arthur is strong, handsome and everything a ‘stallion’ should be. I enjoyed watching and Cole and Lady Blackmyre sneaked past his defenses, and showed him the truth of his possibilities and how to handle what he was feeling. I liked Arthur’s stubborn streak, his determination to not speak at all, thinking as long as he was silent, he was in charge of his own destiny.

There are several court intrigues in this one, with surprising villains behind the evil doings and the ways in which the Queen and Lady Blackmyre handle things is not at all what I expected. As with any Joely Sue Burkhart, the tension rises to unbearable heights before the characters finally come together in an epic explosion of passion. This is not for everyone, but for the adventurous reader who likes some kink and altered reality with their romance, this one will catch and hold the attention quite nicely.

The book got off to a great start, with Christian and Claire crossing paths just as she is taking her frustrations out on his best friend’s truck. It seems that Tucker is a bit of a hound dawg and he has jilted the wrong gal this time. There were much deeper issues at play with Tucker though, that came out in the story later on. Christian threatens the spitfire holding the bat with 3-5, but actually he is impressed with her fire. He knows what it’s like cause he has been in love with Tucker for a long time. That’s where the fireworks really started and took this book full speed into some wicked sexy fun.

Christian and Tucker are best friends that have a voyeuristic relationship. They get off on teasing each other and darned if I didn’t enjoy those scenes almost as much as they did.  The sexual tension between these two guys sizzled, it definitely kept this reader on edge. The author did a fantastic job at showing me what the characters were feeling, and it was obvious that Christian and Tucker were conflicted about their relationship. So far, it’s hands off, but they were dancing pretty close to the flames at that point. Scared to take the final step, not wanting to lose the friendship.

I felt that Tucker was the alpha in the relationship and he was the most troubled as well. He was chasing a ghost, his lost love, and with the guilt and fear he was afraid to fall in love. When Christian confronts him about doing Claire wrong, he feels guilty. No doubt he was a troubled man that wanted to move on but couldn’t let go of his grief. There is no denying that he felt something for Claire, that was part of the problem that prompted him to hurt her.

Then the guys decide to go after Claire with seduction on their minds and things got exciting. Em Petrova is one author that knows her way around an erotic scene. This book is not for the faint of heart. It’s risque, with explicit scenes that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. It was right up my alley and I enjoyed every single second. This triad does some serious exploring with every possible position and combination. On a personal note, The M/M and M/M/F scenes were some of the best I’ve come across, with a connection between Christian and Tucker that was loving and personal. Discerning readers will want to read the warnings clearly for this one, though, as some of the scenes are vividly detailed with anal play and voyeurism. For intrepid readers such as myself … you won’t be disappointed with this book.

Alas, the fun was cut short when Tucker panics at how easily the ghost of his lost love could be put to rest. He runs away from his ranch and his lovers, leaving them alone to console each other. At this point I fell completely in love with Christian. He was broken up, but he really held things together for Claire. His concern, his tenderness has made him one of my favorite romantic heroes. It’s no wonder they grew even closer, becoming inseparable. It became clear that they had a truly romantic and caring relationship. Together they faced some difficulties, had some problems with Tucker’s greedy relatives, and waited for Tucker to return to them.

It has to be said, that I felt this book was absolutely perfect. I can’t say enough good things about it. This was a very compelling and memorable story. It was the deep love that the triad shared, and that the author aptly showed with her excellent character development, that captivated this reader. This is one that I am sure to read again and again. I’m not done raving about it just yet. I will be sharing the joy, recommending it as a must read, to all of my friends. I am suggesting that everyone should try this amazing author.

She’s independent, talented and is just realizing how much actually loves two clueless wolves.

Ms. Tortuga doesn’t make her readers wait long to see just how hot these three are together. The first time is fast and sweaty but who can blame them when they only see each other once a month. It works for this story. Plus, I knew the true plot would deal with how the guys would talk Steph into helping them find their mate, how she’d take the news and how they’d eventually find their HEA, because they simply had to end up together. Ms. Tortuga didn’t disappoint. It’s not all mating and fun for Steph and the guys. Someone’s come to town to cause some trouble and does he ever?

Be sure to play close attention to Stephanie’s friend Wendy. I think we’ll be seeing more of her as well as the pack alpha, Brett. At least I hope to read their story! I felt there might be a bit of an imbalance in that way because this is very much a love story with an important message that earns center stage.

Given that, still I enjoyed every page. I’m delighted as always with Em Petrova’s story telling talents, and recommend Controlled Burn as a compelling romance that burns as hot as the title suggests.

The tale evolves naturally and smoothly and delivers such sweet passion and heat between the three that it makes a sumptuous reading experience throughout. This story is ‘ten flames hot’!

I heartily recommend Wild, Wild Hearts to all adventurous thrill and romance seekers, who will certainly not be disappointed.

Okay, so let’s start with Laurel. I loved her. She was sweet and passionate but also had flaws that made me smile. Once or twice she became insecure when noticing another woman’s perfume on one of her men. She is a good cook, but a horrible cleaning lady. I loved watching the heroes trip over her laundry or try to clean her room. Poor girl is a hoarder!

Now for the heroes… I honestly had a hard time picking which hero I liked more. They both had something that appealed to Laurel and to me. Holden was dark and passionate, while Jens was the kind of man you can talk to for hours.

When they decide on the ménage, that’s where the magic happens. My favorite sex scene in the book was the turning point when Holden and Laurel invited Jens into the bedroom without him actually being there (you’ll have to read it to know what I’m talking about). And then the first sex scene with all three of them.. oh… my…..

Besides the sex though, there is a plot and an emotional storyline connecting all the characters. I definitely enjoyed this book and intend to read other works from this author. Well done!

Each story is good in itself, but put together, it seemed to be a bit too much in the limited pages. Balancing emotion and sex between three people can be a difficult task. In this case, the sex is steamy and all three are a perfect physical fit. The emotion, however, is lacking.

We’re introduced to the relationship between Marc and Kyle, but I felt something (beyond a woman) was lacking between them. Marc’s head was turned immediately by Indie, and it almost seemed he ditched Kyle to chase after her. Meanwhile, Kyle had a hidden secret, keeping him from opening himself fully, that he would not share with Marc. It made me feel the two really didn’t belong together or that they weren’t very close because those are the types of things shared between lovers. Kyle felt comfortable sharing with Indie, however. Why open up to a virtual stranger but not your lover?

After being initially afraid of her risqué environment, Indie opened very quickly and expressed her desire to participate in a ménage with both Marc and Kyle. Hiding a secret herself, she finally opened up to them and explained her resentment of the Christmas holiday. Although things were resolved, it felt like perhaps they were resolved a little too easily.

When it comes to a love story, this one doesn’t quite get there, but if you’re looking for a hot sex story, this will absolutely hit the spot.

Christophe is your typical Prince Charming with the heart of gold while Armand is the dark, angry brooding counterpart of the duo. Christophe was very much ‘what you see is what you get’ and Armand carries ulterior motives when it comes to Angelique. When Angelique’s fortune takes a turn for the worse, the men must come to her rescue.

After reading this book, I felt as though there were things missing from the story. How did the men meet and become so close? When Angelique was away from the men, what were the men feeling and how did it change them? There was some backstory missing that could’ve helped the plot. Also, the love scenes were missing a certain connection between the three.

Ms. Ellis did do a great job of creating the desperation that Angelique felt at her unlucky hand that was dealt to her. The villains were well written and created enough emotion that you wanted to do them bodily harm. The author stayed true to the time period and some of the proclivities that typically happened then.

Overall, the book was a good read and anyone who enjoys historicals with a bit of spice, Prince Charming or a broody hero then luckily this book has it all!

This story was a hard one for me to get into. We learn quickly on in the book that the men are trying to seduce Kitty and get her to try and sell the family business, which made it hard for me to like them. I found it hard to immerse myself in the romance between the men and Kitty because I continued to think about the men lying to and tricking Kitty. She’s a strong woman who is trying to let off some steam after continuously working to save the company day after day.

The sex is a hot read and it flows well between the three but the sexual conflict between the two men became a distraction for me. In a way it seemed that they just used Kitty to make their relationship all right. Even with this the three are good together and it was nice to see them develop their relationship. There was a lot of attention paid to the lovemaking and not too much on the actual storyline. I kept waiting for Kitty to find out about the lies but every time a scene would end another one would begin. Somebody always seemed to be having sex or the men were dealing with their own relationship. Even Kitty notices this and gives the men an ultimatum about their relationship.

Watching Noah and Shane figure out their relationship was a nice read. The men love each other and begin to have feelings for Kitty but they must find out where their relationship stands before they decide on the relationship that includes all three of them. It was nice to see each man develop a bond with Kitty as well and had me hoping that the three would find a solution to all their problems. Although this book may not a favorite for me, I am a fan of this author and plan to continue reading her work because I know I’ll find another book that will be a favorite. If a hot menage with some lovely M/M action and a bit of deception is what you’re in the mood for, look no further than Velvet Steel.
