Alexander has spent years working tirelessly to keep alive his mother’s legacy and has never even thought of settling down. This all changes when he sees Lizzie.

On the deciding last day of the year, it only takes a glance for Alex to know she’s his and only a few words and a dance for Lizzie to feel in her heart that he is the one. When she runs off after a scorching New Year’s kiss, he doesn’t give up that easily and is willing to do anything to get her back in his arms.

This story is pure escapism and every woman’s fantasy. It’s a complete “McDreamy” and “McSteamy” all in one. The author’s biography states that “she likes to write feel-good, amusing romances that, after many surprising twists, always end in a Happily Ever After”. I say that Lexi February accomplished all that and more. Okay, yes it’s probably a tad unrealistic, but I’m a romantic at heart and full of optimism. I choose to believe that I could meet someone like Alex.

Ah, Alex. He is the man of my dreams. He’s better than the bath slogan “Calgon take me away”. I’d go where ever Alex wanted to take me. Alex is rich, handsome and knows what he wants and will do anything to get what he wants. He just happens to want Lizzie.

As for Lizzie, she’s a hot mess totally in need of meeting a man like Alex. I was cheering them on as I turned the pages as fast as I could. I remember thinking “Oh my goodness” while my toes curled, and with a goofy smile on my face. They had great chemistry.

There was a character that the synopsis mentions as an “unreliable friend and employee.” This character could have been more developed. It was a plot thread that had options that were missed. There were a few editing hiccups such as misspelled words, but I can read backwards and upside down if I have to so that didn’t bother me. Alex almost made me forget my name so I’m surprised I even noticed something such as spelling errors.

Honestly, this was an enjoyable romance story. Sincerely, I would read another romance by Lexi February. I prefer to read books that give me that feel-good feeling and she hit all my happy spots, especially with the epilogue. Well done. It’ll be easy to suggest this book to my friends who are looking for a lighthearted, take-me-away-from-this-world, story.

But when city-slicking do-gooder Aja Everett asks for his help, he can’t stay away…and as attraction sizzles and protective instincts flare, she may be the only woman able to restore the heart of this Texas Ranger.

Get out your fans for this steamy contemporary romance which features a hunky Texas Ranger with trust issues and a confident, sexy, full-figured heroine who believes in the best in people. Sometimes oil and water are meant to mix.

Okay, when does book two come out? I am the queen of no patience. I didn’t realize Jackson was book one in a series. I cruised through this book loving life, then the end came and I panicked – I looked for more pages to turn. I was at the end already?!! While I loved the romance between the hero, Jackson, and the heroine, Aja, and I appreciated they achieved a happily ever after, I was not tickled that a major plot thread was left open to continue in book two. Although, I do recognize that making me crave for more is what makes a thrilling series. I’m already hooked on the Restoration Ranch series.

I’ve never read a book by LaQuette nor have I read a multicultural book, but I was head over heels while reading Jackson. With all those amazing plot twists, the writing style was riveting. I didn’t see the ending coming and being able to pull that off makes me classify this story as an original, well-done, unpredictable mystery. I was on the edge of my seat a few times during the action scenes.

The romance between Aja and Jackson was sizzling to boot. Jackson’s natural instincts to protect and Aja’s desire to help others often crossed hairs, but each had the best of intentions at heart.

The other characters in the story were well developed and I look forward to meeting with them all again when the second book comes out.

In conclusion, I can with good conscience enthusiastically recommend Jackson with the warning it might leave other readers like it left me, wanting the next book to be released as soon as possible.

Undercover Outlaw is a quality written piece of literature that walks the fine line between a quest for justice and a thirst for revenge. I teetered between the two as the story took me on a journey mixed with romance and danger.

The leading characters, Trinity and Jesse immediately brought the book to life on page one. It was impossible to put the book down. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what happened next. I felt the instant connection between the two. In fact all the characters were well developed. It was easy to hate the town’s tyrannical leader. Hard not to love the townsfolk in Prairie Ridge.

The romance between Trinity and Jesse was more sweet than sensual but regardless they were definitely entertaining. I laughed when I read the word “dimwit. I haven’t heard that word in ages. My mother used to use that word.

Undercover Outlaw was a fast paced, plot twisting, emotional provoking story that pleased me greatly. I especially enjoyed the epilogue. I applaud Gini Rifkin for such a wonderful read.

Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. Every time I say that I think of the movie, Annie. It’s totally irrelevant but that is how I feel after finishing Cupid Returns to the Lonesome Buzzard Ranch. I read the first book in the series and was anticipating this release. A significant amount of time has passed since I finished the first book but I was pleased that it all came back to me once I started reading book two. I can see how this could be read as a standalone but I just can’t suggest that with good conscience. The overall experience is more fulfilling if they are read in consecutive order. In fact, when the series is complete, I think I’ll go back and binge read all of them again.

I didn’t hesitate this time reading a book with multiple romances going on since I didn’t have an issue with the first book in the series. I dove in with confidence that I’d be treated with an entertaining read. I suggest the reader to check out the synopsis and decide if they think it sounds too busy for them or not. I typically would have a hard time with this type of romance book but Hebby Roman is one of my trusted authors. I know her writing style will smoothly guide me through the transitions.

Once again, I can’t pick which was my favorite couple. However, I’d lean towards Christine and Connor. They made me laugh the most. Each couple is unique and lovable. I got an extra chuckle because I actually read this book on Valentine’s Day. I can’t think of a better holiday to read a romance book. There was an abundance of love in the air today. If you’re looking for a fun read with elements of comedy then pick up this witty romance book.

Attraction flares between the two in spite of themselves. But how will they save Caroline’s reputation and calm the storm of the ton’s gossip?

The romance between Caroline and Christopher was so sweet, I felt as if I had a sugar high and my face hurt from smiling too much. All their sweetness was mixed with members of the London ton who don’t do anything but gossip and speculate. The ton is very good at ripping people’s reputations to shreds, regardless if they are innocent or not. The ton was like eating a Bamboozle jelly bean which leaves a nasty taste in one’s mouth. It’s been quite a while since I’ve read such an original plot. I’ve honestly never read a storyline quite like this one. I found it especially clever when I connected the title of the book to a scene within it. I’ve never read anything by Andrea Downing before and I was impressed with her intelligent writing style.

The hero, Shiloh, and the heroine, Sydney, both have strong moral beliefs that oppose each other’s values. I felt like I was caught in the middle, trying to understand both points of view while questioning my own values and moral beliefs. I for one enjoy reading for entertainment purposes and for pure escapism. Because of my preferences, I probably won’t re-read this book but I genuinely enjoyed the originality, cleverness and writing style, enough to recommend this book to others. I really believe this would be a perfect book for a philosophical reader.

The romance between Shiloh and Sydney was sweet and realistic for that time period. There wasn’t a large cast of characters, but I found that the few the author introduced me to were well developed and relatable.

In conclusion, Shot Through the Heart has the potential to hit the mark in future readers’ hearts!

She fears one of them is not being truthful about his identity and must decide which man to trust when tragedy strikes, setting her on a path filled with family secrets and betrayal, her heart in jeopardy from two men fighting to claim it as their own.

This book was masterly crafted, exquisitely written and executed like a fine tuned orchestra from beginning to end. My suggestion is to read the synopsis very carefully because I didn’t. Typically, I would never purposely choose to read a story that included a love triangle. I’m actually glad I read this one. Now, what I really want to know is, is there going to be a second book for the one who didn’t claim the heroine’s heart? Because I totally connected with the character and I won’t be happy if there isn’t a follow up.

There isn’t much more I can say that the synopsis doesn’t already cover, not without triggering a spoiler alert. I was conflicted about who should be chosen by the heroine, and figuring out who I’d choose was part of the entertainment. When the heroine made her decision, I felt sad for the unchosen one. My heart was tugged all over the place.

Normally I’d write a much longer review, but in this case there’s not a lot I can share that won’t lead to the temptation to reveal spoilers. What I can say is that this is a must read. I am placing No Hero Here on my bookshelf to read again. I highly recommend others to read this story!

I love this story trope, “single dad falls in love with child care provider” because there’s something about it that always pulls at my heartstrings. Perhaps it’s because I’m a nanny myself and can visualize being the leading character.

First, I’ll talk about Stella, the heroine. Her kind of loss and heartbreak is not the type that anyone wants to endure. I can’t imagine going through what she went through, so to say “she cries a lot” isn’t fair because I imagine I’d be a hot mess if I were in her shoes. There were a few times I thought “not again”… but then had to remind myself that I’d probably cry too. If a reader is a “pull up your big girl pants” kind of person then this book wouldn’t be for you. If a reader is a sympathetic and empathetic person, then this book is should work for you.

The hero, Dawson, is also going to require a sensitive type reader to fall in love with his character because he too experienced loss and heartbreak that was life changing. Dawson’s sweet little girl, Deirdre, the one Stella is nannying for, is like your average five-year-old. As cute as she was, there is one scene she was in that was a stretch of reality, but I went with it.

As if the reader isn’t dealing enough with the complex narrative of the characters dealing with learning about, and connecting with, one another, the author slides in another plot twist. Now more characters are introduced and have to intermingle with everyone else. This addition leads to the set-up of the suspense/mystery thread. Dawson’s land is being threatened and the path of the plot twist leads back to … I’m not telling. All I will say is that it’s very intriguing, to say the least. I was surprised and impressed with the flow of sequences.

The story was well written and entertaining. My one personal gripe was the back and forth see-saw of “I’m going home!” to “No, I’m not going home” and back again. It was just a little headache inducing. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the story. This was my first C.B. Clark book and I’d certainly consider reading another story by this author.

If you are looking for a little sensual romance with a few “sit on the edge of your seat” moments then this book qualifies. I think if readers enjoy dramas with high emotion, then I’d recommend picking up this story. Dawson and Stella couldn’t be better matched to heal each other’s hearts!

Can the two find a forever love? Or will their wishes melt away like icing on a Christmas treat?

Oh my gosh, I have to start my review by talking about the heroine, Madison. I completely related to her in every way. Seriously, this book could have been written about my years in high school. I nearly died laughing throughout the entire story at the similarities between Madison and me. The connection I felt with Madison started on the first page and didn’t stop there. I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face. I’m still sitting here shaking my head, still beaming with a quirky smile. I thought I was the only person on earth that had a crush on a boy for all four years in high school, yet couldn’t even look or speak to him without hyperventilating while turning beet red. It was painful. Technically Madison is a book character, so I may still be the only human who, to this day, probably wouldn’t be able to form two words if I ran into my high school crush. This element alone in the story made my day and leaves me no choice but to recommend this book.

Honestly, the entire cast of characters were hilarious. Madison’s four-year-old nephew, Taggert, was a hoot. As a retired preschool teacher and a mother of two boys, I can testify that the author was accurate regarding a preschooler’s favorite food, to the innocent yet inappropriate comments a four old can make, and the shenanigans they can get themselves into. Taggert’s dad, Jim, had me roaring regarding his cooking skills. I could go on and on but I suggest the book is worth the read just to meet all the other characters.

Just so you know, not all the characters made me feel warm and fuzzy. There was one named Pilar who consistently stirred the pot. Pilar was unlikable and I would have guiltily enjoyed seeing her suffer far more than she did because of all the trouble she caused. However, the story would not have been as entertaining as it was without Pilar.

The heroine, Ryder Sanders, was so much like my high school crush I could barely take it. The chemistry between Ryder and Madison was very romantic. I looked up my high school crush on Facebook and actually found him. He was bald with a dad-bod. I’m pretty sure, despite his aging, I’d probably still not be able to form two coherent sentences. LOL! I’m so glad that Madison had her happily ever after with Ryder.

Concerning all the technical writing, plot creativeness, plot flow, predictability versus plot twists and everything else, I was impressed with all of it. I especially enjoyed the time of year that it took place in. Christmas is my favorite season.

I don’t have any qualms recommending Tangled in Tinsel. If fact, I think the book would make a great Christmas gift.

Have you ever read a book and wondered how the characters were doing after the book ended, as if they were real people? It’s one of the reasons I cherish stories that include an epilogue. “Snowed In” has the most unique epilogue I’ve ever read in my life. It included “One year later” “Two years after that” and “One year after that”. It was like being at your favorite rock band concert and they keep coming back for encores. There are some books that, when I’m near the end, I will put down and walk away because I don’t want it to be over. I desperately want to finish it but I know I’ll be sad when it’s done. When I have a book like that and there is an epilogue it is like winning the lottery. In this case, I won the lottery three times.

The heroine, Emma and the hero, Andrew, made for one of the most absolutely sweetest romance stories I’ve read in a long time. My mother would love this book for Christmas. If you are looking for a sweet, heartwarming love story than this is the book to read. The holiday season is the best time of year to read this book because it is full of Christmas spirit. I enjoyed reading it all snuggled up on the couch next to my Christmas tree.

From the first page to the last page, the writing style, character development, plot, setting and pace all kept me enraptured. There is a plethora of entertaining moments that will make you chuckle.

If the synopsis tempts you at all then I’d encourage you to pick up this book and snuggle up for a few hours. I personally think it’s a great book to insert in a hot chocolate gift basket for anyone who enjoys a tender romance.
