Everything I look for in a book was incorporated in this romance. I love it when both the hero and heroine have strong personalities yet have vulnerabilities. They are equally intelligent, caring and mutually attracted to one another. This was a sweet romance with the bedroom door firmly closed.

I was smitten with Justin. I’ve never had a man fight for me nor do I wish for that. However, I swooned over Justin’s chivalry.

The plot was absolutely riveting from the first page to the last. This story was exceptionally well written. I’m excited that it’s book one in the Parish Orphans of Devon series. I really hope the next book is about Mr. Finchley and Jenny. I hope there are some guest appearances from Justin and Helena.

This story evoked many emotions in me. I laughed, I got teary eyed and even experienced anger towards Helena’s uncle. The unpredictable moments had me feeling on edge. Mostly I felt happy. I love it when there is an epilogue that leaves me with a book glow.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this story. Unfortunately it’s past my bedtime. Please give this book a chance if you enjoy historical romance novels. I’m glad I did.

Wild Passion is the second book in the “A Montana Mountain Romance” trilogy. I suggest readers read the first book in the series “White Water Passion” before reading this book. It’s not absolutely necessary but that is my recommendation. The reason I suggest that is because of the cast of characters and the evolving plot. When I finished book one, I had hoped that Simon, Elizabeth’s brother, and Carrie, Elizabeth’s best friend, would get their own book. I wanted to read how they’d develop into a couple with a happy ever after ending. Simon deserved to be loved. Now you are wondering who is Elizabeth? She was the heroine in White Water Passion. The first book ended with Simon being severely injured and Carrie nursing him back to health.

It’s my impression that the books would be better read in one sitting. The third book isn’t out yet but we already know it’s going to be about the characters, Wall and Victoria. The plot in this series is elaborate and continuous with the characters all intertwined.

Simon was irresistible even with his scars from his attack. He’s brave, funny, strong and I love a man who will protect me. It was great how Carrie “unknowingly transported” Simon in the beginning of the story. What a great hook to immediately draw in the reader. Carrie was an entertaining leading lady. She’s was a mix of strong, vulnerable and mischief characteristics.

It’s frustrating that I can’t explain why I loved this book without thinking of the first book. It genuinely has to do with the relationship the reader develops with the characters. Aunt June is an older woman who is the cook at the camp who is Carrie’s Godmother. Her meddlesome ways add humor to the plot. This book as a little something for everyone.

There are many emotional ups and downs mixed with “stomach flip” moments. I don’t think I can walk through the woods without looking up at the tops of the trees for a widow maker. A widow maker is a branch that is dead and could fall on you at any moment killing you.

The only concern I had was the plot thread regarding Carrie and her father. He’s the reason why she’s on the mountain in the first place. Carrie repeatedly expresses how she’s never going to marry and how she wants to be just like Aunt June. The story ends with me not knowing how her relationship between her or her father was resolved. That might be irrelevant to some people but it bothered me because her mother apparently is “fragile” and needs her. I will assume that the relationship will be addressed in book three.

Of course I’ll be reading book three. “Fiery Passion”. We already know it’s going to be about Victoria who I hated in book one but then had a change of heart by the end of book one but in book two she wasn’t nice at all. So I’ll read book three out of curiosity. I’m very fond of the character, Wall. I was hoping Beth would have chosen him over Garrett for a few pages. Wall deserves someone to love him. I’m just not sure Victoria deserves him. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out.

In conclusion, at this time I love this series. Dawn Luedecke sure knows how to write sensual romances that are entertaining, exciting and suspenseful. It will make a great binge-read in the future once all three books are available. In the meantime, if you haven’t read book one then go do that and then enjoy book two. They both are difficult to put down so make sure you have ample time to ride this wild, adrenaline inducing romance!

I will not lie, I am a huge fan of the Oak Grove Series. Wedding at the Rocking S Ranch was a winner. It secured the Oak Grove Series in first place in my mind. This book can be read as a standalone, however, it is worth looking up its predecessors and reading them. The author’s note says “The town and its inhabitants have become so real to me that I wish I could go there and visit them in real life!” I also want to go to Oak Grove, Kansas to meet all the characters that I’ve grown to love. I have yet to ever binge-watch on Netflix but I would if the Oak Grove series was made into a T.V. show. Someone needs to start a petition for that to happen.

Wedding at the Rocking S Ranch was a heartwarming love story. The heroine, Cassandra, was once an outgoing, fun-spirited girl who lost herself after a set of unfortunate circumstances. Watching her journey to regain her self-confidence was cheer worthy.

Watching the hero, Wolf, be a part of Cassandra’s healing was rewarding. Wolf was patient, strong and kind. Wolf was treated unfairly by people because of his heritage which resulted in him being cautious and skeptical of other’s intentions. Wolf and Cassandra were brought together by a mutual loss. It was humbling to see that common thread between them blossom into something special. They each deserved love and joy in their life.

The plot was riveting. I couldn’t put it down even when it was well past my bed time. There was a hint of suspense intertwined among three shady characters. Even now I’m left feeling a bit of trepidation since they didn’t get the typical punishment handed to them. Usually I’d complain about that but given the set of sequences it all made perfect sense and was justified.

It goes without saying that the characters were well developed and relatable. The writing style was flawless. The pace was a steady quick momentum. I enjoyed every minute reading this story even when I finished it at 3:15 AM. Good thing I’m on vacation this week otherwise I’d be a walking zombie, though it’d be worth it.

I’m thankful that I got to read and review this book. It will go on my keeper shelf. Kathryn Albright is definitely on my favorite author list. I encourage others to give this book a chance and to check out the other books in the Oak Grove series.

Will heartbreak and deceit keep Jillian and Cade locked in the past? Or will they find the courage to follow their hearts?

The sense of community was strong in this story and I felt as if I was the new kid in town. This was my first Mary Jane Morgan book and I would consider reading other books by her. I enjoyed her writing style as the plot eloquently flowed from beginning to nearly the end capturing my interest the entire time.

Apparently, Choices of the Heart is the last book in The Wedding Chapel Series. I wish I could say that I read the previous books leading up to this final book in the series. I believe I would have enjoyed this book more if I had.

The hero, Cade, was a veterinarian. That is a profession that I have always admired and respected. I have a dog and a cat and we absolutely love our vet. Cade was a compassionate, gorgeous, and slightly insecure man due to his x-wife’s shocking news.

The heroine, Jillian, was in the driver’s seat as far as the budding relationship goes. She knew what she wanted and what she didn’t want and wasn’t willing to compromise. The story was mostly all about her thoughts and feelings. Cade had to decide if he loved her because if he did then he’d change to meet her needs.

I won’t pretend to know what it’s like to lose a spouse. When I read books with this plot I have to trust what I’m reading. I’m sure it’s one of those experiences that no one can understand unless they walk in those shoes. Jillian and Cade had emotional obstacles they needed to work through if they were going to find their happy ever after. They were attracted to each other and their relationship appeared to work. I was able to relate to them as a couple.

This was a heartwarming story that helped pass my time but it wasn’t filled with mirth. In fact the ending left me with mixed feelings of happiness and melancholy. Not my typical book glow euphoria. I’m almost certain that my heart felt this way because the ending was wrapped up in a quick non-elegant fashion with no epilogue.

However, I would recommend this book to others to read. It was a touching romance.

I’m not much of an Urban Dictionary follower but the synopsis for Mallory: The Mail Order Bride was an excellent example of “Hook and Reel”. Though, after finishing the book, the phrase “Hook, Line and Sinker” feels more appropriate. Where I come up with these analogies is astonishing to me. My husband says that my brain works like a spaghetti module when they are trying to predict the path of a hurricane. Regardless, if the synopsis sounds intriguing to you as it did to me then definitely give this book a chance. I was hooked and the plot reeled me in and the epilogue sunk me.

This happens to be book three in the A West Texas Frontier Trilogy. I did finish book two and went straight into book three. To be honest I haven’t read book one. I guess that’s further proof of my spaghetti module brain or the fact that these books in this series can be read as standalones. I was surprised after reading book two and immediately reading book three that the hero, William Gregor, was still at Fort Clark. I was left under the impression that he was going to have to be reassigned at the end of book two. I guess that doesn’t matter but I picked up on that. That little tidbit wouldn’t matter to a reader reading Mallory’s story first in the series.

Hebby Roman is fast becoming one of my favorite authors, for once again she wrote a superior quality romance story. There is depth to her plots lines that pull at my heartstrings. I am consistently engaged in the setting, with the characters, and with the thought provoking emotional conflicts.

The heroine, Mallory, has endured more than any one person should. To see her triumph over life’s challenges gives one encouragement and hope. It was touching to see William’s heart heal from the loss of his wife. Together, Mallory and William made a sweet romance.

The first couple of pages in this story start off slow and then all of a sudden I was on the edge of my seat, holding my breath. The narrative did settle down after that heart stopping scene and glided steady throughout the rest of the book. There was a couple of other tense moments but not as thrilling as the first. Needless to say this story provides the reader with unpredictable entertainment.

If you live in a tropical climate and need to escape to a vast and treacherous mountain terrain, then this is the book for you. With the dry air and cooler temperatures, this refreshing, lovely romance story makes the must read list!

I thoroughly enjoyed absolutely everything about this book. The plot was refreshingly original. I was just talking to my mother-n-law yesterday about how there have been many movie remakes over the last few years. The lack of originality is frustrating. This is why I rather read a book then go to the movies. Lights out Lucy was exceptionally written. I loved the cast of characters.

Lucy, the heroine, was an everyday average person. I related to her vulnerability and clumsiness. I was proud of Lucy’s accomplishments that took courage to achieve.

West Alder, the hero, was the perfect book boyfriend. Together they were hilarious. I am not exaggerating when I say that I smiled throughout the entire book from beginning to end. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I read this story in one sitting. I was feeling too good and happy to put it down.

I have no qualms about recommending this entertaining read. I’m seriously going to read it again.

For a book that only has ten chapters it packed a punch. The pace flowed effortlessly from one scene to another. I knew not to blink or I would miss something. The writing style transported me back in time, Fort Clark, Texas-1875. I literally groaned for the heroine, Cristabelle, who was a laundress at Fort Clark. I can’t imagine the back pain or the pain in my hands I’d have from that arduous labor.

This is my second Hebby Roman romance book. I find it interesting that in each book I learned something that I never knew before. It’s rather fun to read a romance book and walk away slightly more educated. The last time I learned something it was about how hard and dirty of a job it was to shear sheep’s wool, since the setting was on a sheep ranch. This time the setting was an Army post. Fort Clark’s purpose was to guard the border. Hebby Roman has a natural skill in writing entertaining romance stories with purpose. This talent is a rare quality trait found in romance books.

The hero, David aka Davie, was a solider in Company C. He brought amusement into the plot. His bravery would earn him a promotion and then his shenanigans would lose him a stripe. One thing for sure was his fondness for Cristabelle. Cristabelle had some emotional conflict issues within herself that she needed to work out before she could accept Davie’s love. Davie knew he loved Cristabelle but was she worth giving up his Army life for? Would she be happy as an Army wife? So much uncertainty.

I found Christabelle: The Christmas Bride to be a wholesome quality romance story that was enriched with well-developed characters that produced an emotionally rewarding love story between Cristabelle and David. Hebby Roman’s writing style has a high caliber of its own.

If you’re looking for an interesting and satisfying plot that will entertain you for a few hours then give this book a try. I’m glad I did.

When I read the synopsis I was further intrigued to read this book because Flynn was posing as a nanny. I actually work as a nanny so that really allured me into reading this book. I was expecting some humorous scenes between Flynn and Marshall’s child, Timmy, since she was posing as a nanny and surely wouldn’t know what to do. That was not the case. Timmy was shy and withdrawn much like his father was. Flynn was the opposite of Marshall but she was in his home under false pretenses therefore the lies and secrets made it nearly impossible to romance this Tasmanian cowboy.

While this story was written well and had a steady rhythm, the pace was slow. With that said I can’t say it was predictable. There were a few plot twists. The author did a good job alluding to something so that I thought I had it figured out then twisted the plot so that I was wrong. The author did this a few times and I believe that was what kept me hooked until the end.

The characters were well developed but we never got to meet Flynn’s mother. She’s mentioned throughout the book so I at least expected to meet her even if it was just in an epilogue – which there wasn’t one. Suzy was an important side character. She was Flynn’s cousin and Marshall’s first wife and the mother of Timmy. I felt like she was a loose thread at the end. She obviously needed medical help and I’m sad that plot thread wasn’t given the closure that was needed. I’m left wondering about the mentally tortured girl.

The romance between Marshall and Flynn managed to work. They were attracted to each other; it just took a long time for Flynn to crack the shield around Marshall’s heart. I stayed up until 1AM to finish the book. Sometimes you get so far that you just have to see how it ends. I hate to go to bed with dirty dishes in the sink. I don’t want to start my day cleaning yesterday’s mess. It feels good to go to bed knowing the house is tidy and neat. That’s how I felt last night. I just wanted to finish the book so I could wake up today and write the review.

Since this book did entertain me and I enjoyed most of it, I’d recommend Romancing a Tasmanian Cowboy to other readers. We all know that reviewing is subjective. There were some good parts in this book that made it worth reading.

The Brooding Surgeon’s Baby Bombshell was appealing to me from the beginning to the end. I was consistently entertained as the unraveling plot revealed the hero, Gabe, and the heroine, Zoe’s complicated love story and that led me to a feel good book glow.

They both suffered from similar past hurts from their youth which was a bonding element for them but also what divided them. They both had to let go of their fears and not let the past define who they were as adults. I found myself cheering for them to take that leap of faith and trust their hearts to one another.

It was refreshing as well as heartwarming to read the love and compassion Zoe and Gabe had for each other as well as their patients – especially so for the empathy that was given in regards to Zoe’s mother. I only wish life’s problems could be as easily solved by falling in love with a rich doctor.

I have to mention how much I was relieved that this wasn’t a total clichéd story of woman and a man having a one night stand and she gets pregnant. The Brooding Surgeon’s Baby Bombshell had a quality plot with depth and well-developed characters. There were a couple of surprise plot twists that I didn’t anticipate.

I was especially pleased there was a prologue and an epilogue. I will definitely recommend this well written romance story to my friends and family.

I am sitting here thinking about what I want to say. I recently ordered custom cookies for my son’s graduation party to give as party favors. They looked amazing. I was so proud to pass them out. Later that night after everyone left I couldn’t wait to eat one. The frosting was delicious. The cookie wasn’t what I expected. It was hard and tasted more like flour. Yet, I ate the whole cookie. Somehow this book, Lady of Steel, reminds me of that experience. The synopsis was the frosting and the book was the cookie. The story was mostly enjoyable, pretty much like the cookie was. Did I eat another cookie the next day? Unfortunately, yes I did. I paid a lot of money for those cookies. It took me three days to read this story. I picked the book up each day with the same enthusiasm as I did when I picked up another cookie thinking that maybe this one would taste better. I can at least say that the cookie and the book were consistent. They both gave me some short term pleasure.

I would like to point out that if you missed the heat rating then here is your warning, it’s hot by page six. This scene is the whole premise for the entire plot. Twenty eight chapters, three hundred and seventeen pages with an epilogue all because of this one scene. The good news is that the story was written well. My attention was certainly caught as I was introduced to the main characters, Nicola, the heroine and Fawkes, the hero. She definitely did not live an easy life. Neither did the hero, Fawkes. They each had their own hardships to overcome as it’s stated in the synopsis. Nicola had a horrible marriage which made me feel empathy for her. Fawke’s life was altered by the hardships and cruelties of war. The best part of the story for me were the secrets, lies and dangerous threats. Lady of Steel was an interesting read for me as I connected with the well-developed characters as they navigated through the various plot twists.

The one flaw for me (which would be the hard, flour tasting cookie part) was the repetitiousness between the hero and heroine. I understood how they felt and what they thought. I did not need to read it to the point of the story going stagnate. I did eventually just skim over those paragraphs. I admit that I also skimmed over the very detailed love scenes. It was clear they had chemistry without reading those intimate moments.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say that there is a chance I’d recommend this book to a friend. I was intrigued enough to see how it ended and I was happy that there weren’t any loose threads. That left me ultimately satisfied.
