Wanted is written in the fashion of “Oh, C’mon, are you serious?”. This was the book’s motto for me. Wanted was literally impossible to put down. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. Needless to say my attention was captured from the beginning of the story until the last written word.

One of the reasons I was smitten immediately was the writing style. I enjoyed the detailed descriptions that made me feel like I was part of the scene too. I could imagine the hero, Dakota and the heroine Caitlyn’s first encounter. They both instantly noticed something about each other that drew and held their attention to each other. I was in complete agreement with Caitlyn’s assessment of Dakota. He was book boyfriend worthy with the anticipation of a book glow at the end. Together they made for an entertaining read.

I enjoyed the cast of characters and thought they were all well developed. I only wish the one character, Elizabeth, didn’t have that unexpected plot thread. It took away the enjoyment of the book for me. There was enough suspense and action going on that we didn’t need to add that twist.

I thoroughly enjoy when a book offers an epilogue. However, not when it’s presented as a wrap up to the entire book. To me it was like a slammed door in my face. I was like whoa, after all the time I invested in this story falling in love with Dakota, it left me feeling like the epilogue wasn’t justified. I was left wondering how things worked out with Elizabeth living next door. Did Dakota and Caitlyn move? I didn’t feel safe with the way things ended. But that’s me. It didn’t feel consistent, but that’s my thought. You might see it another way.

This book is interesting and the style is great. Why not give it a try?

I have mixed emotions about this book. I didn’t dislike the story nor did I love it. It’s my opinion that if I like the synopsis then I’ll give it a try. Operation Sizzle deserves the chance to be read. I have to say, what you see is what you get.

I’m a reader that likes to read books that are either sweet, sensual or spicy in the chemistry/bedroom department. This book is definitely a little too spicy for me. The synopsis says “offers him the chance to help her improve her sultriness quotient and in the process enjoy some no-strings-attatced bedroom action, there’s no way he can refuse.” For readers looking for something on the more sexy side, then this might not be the right fit.

The heroine, Betsy Kincaid, was well developed but had some room for improvement. Betsy had a kind heart and it was rewarding to see her experience some positive growth developments as the story progressed. It was frustrating to watch her grow wiser but that made it all the more rewarding. Betsy’s character was closer to my leading character preferences near the end of the story.

The hero, Matt, was likable but a bit too bold and forward for me. I had a hard time connecting with the possibility that a man would hear a woman voice on the phone for the first time and only one time and instantly feel a connection that propelled him to go over to her home and bully his way inside out of concern for someone he doesn’t even know. I found his boldness a bit unrealistic. But it might work for other readers.

It wasn’t Matt’s fault that Betsy made the wrong assumption about him when she met him. The innocent mistake made the story a bit humorous. A book that makes me laugh is always a win for me.

Over all, Operation Sizzle was an entertaining contemporary romance book. You’ll just have to read the book to see if their anger over the misunderstanding will cost them their chance at true love.

I didn’t read book one or book two in the Cinderella Romance series but I plan to remedy that as soon as possible. Book three, Par for Cinderella, was a hole in one for me. I loved it and felt it could be read as a stand alone.

Aidan was swoon worthy. He was more than just a handsome man. He was generous, kind and thoughtful. Beautiful on the inside and outside. I felt if the other leading characters in the previous books in this series are anything like Aidan then I need and want to read them just for more swooning possibilities.

Casey, the heroine, was loved by her townsfolk. It was easy to see why. She had the matching characteristics of Aidan, therefore they were made for each other. Unfortunately her past broken relationships made her not trust handsome men and Aidan had secrets of his own that made their budding romance that much sweeter to read. I couldn’t put the book down. When they interacted I could feel the chemistry and often their banter made me seriously laugh out loud.

The story is well written with something consistently going on that left me riveted. There were a few plot threads that intertwined to keep the reader in suspense. The characters were well developed. Some I adored and others I was happy to see their demise.

There was some back story shared for some of the characters that had their own book prior to this one but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment at all. It only made me want to read the previous books to learn more about their story. I found the back stories to be intriguing not distracting or confusing.

There were some misunderstandings between Aidan and Casey that made for a book glow at the culmination of the story. I found Par for Cinderella to be a refreshing contemporary romance story with unexpected surprises through out the plot.

A fun fact is I dragged my feet to read it because I was afraid it was going to be “golf-ish”. I made that word up. I hate golf with a passion because it takes my husband away from his family. I have to say that I regret feeling like that now. Par for Cinderella was an awesome book!

Can Charlotte find the happiness that always seems under threat, and will Harry return home to her?

The Promise of Tomorrow is one of those books that the reader will absolutely love or the reader will not like it at all. It will depend on who likes melodrama. I’d wager if the reader enjoyed the movie The Patriot with Mel Gibson, then they’d be a candidate to read and love this story.

The book is very well written, there is no doubt about that. The cast of characters are strongly developed and relatable. The heroine, Charlotte was a perfect match for the hero, Harry. Together, they were unstoppable and unforgettable.

To be honest, this book could have ended at chapter eleven for me except the plot thread of the villain, McBride, would have been unresolved. I’m not giving any spoilers because the prologue states “World War 1 erupts and Harry enlists”. That was chapter twelve which felt like a start to another story. The first eleven chapters were a splendid romantic love story and then the next fourteen chapters were pretty much about Harry fighting in the war.

It’s my opinion that a military wife would perhaps more likely enjoy this story because she has walked in Charlotte’s shoes. I’m grateful for what our military men do for our country but I know I would never make a good military wife. They have to be able to push their selfishness aside. They have to possess the ability to support their husbands and send them off with their blessings when they are deployed. The solider misses their children’s births, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

This was a heartwarming love story that I’m sure it could have been someone’s reality at one time. I prefer to read books that make me laugh and escape the responsibilities of my life. I didn’t enjoy feeling sad for Charlotte while Harry was fighting in the war, wondering if he was going to return home alive.

I have no choice but to rate this book a five because I recognize that it’s a genuine quality book. It would make a great Netflix movie. The narrative has several threads among the characters to keep the story flowing and the reader’s interest captivated.

It is my honest opinion that readers should give this book a try.

I have to be honest and say that I started this book on a Monday evening and I had trouble putting it down. I can no longer stay up all night to finish a book thanks to my new full time job. I had to put it down at 11 PM. I admit that I read a couple chapters during my Tuesday lunch break at work. I was eager to get home to finish reading it. Which I did.

Since finishing the book I have to say that my anticipation wasn’t completely satisfied. Although the romance between the leading characters held the book together for me, the mystery was a bit weak and the secondary characters could have been more developed. .

Caleb Kirkpatrick, the hero, made me smile and laugh out loud a couple of times. The fact that his brother convinced him to invite three women to the ranch to compete for the position of the cook at the ranch was a unique plot. Laura, the heroine, is one of the three woman. Her history was a bit unrealistic but she is a likable character. I felt that Caleb and Laura made a great match. I enjoyed their banter back and forth.

Overall this book entertained me. There is a particular unforgettable scene that I have never read before in any romance book that surprised me. I’m pretty sure that scene will be one I’ll never forget, but you’ll have to discover it for yourself (no spoilers here). I would recommend this book for some simple pleasure.

I’ve never read an Audrey Flynn book but the title spoke to me. I was craving to escape into a happily-ever-after world. I’ve never read a book that was set in Africa. Needless to say I was full of hope as I sat down to escape my reality. I am ecstatic to share that my love tank is full and I’m experiencing a book glow.

Erica Knight, the heroine, was down to earth and easy to relate to. She worked hard to get where she was at. I felt a ton of respect for her as a person. The same can be said for the hero, Jean-Luc. I admired his values and integrity. It was unfortunate they were on “opposite sides of an escalating conflict”. I certainly could see both sides of the issue. This conflict was brilliantly written between the two leading characters with a tantalizing and irresistible attraction between the two. As hot as it is in Florida it is apparently hotter in Africa! Oh vey! Good thing I read this when a cold front was hitting Florida or else I’d melt for sure.

I enjoyed the plot as it captured my interest immediately and flowed with a steady quick pace full of unpredictable, seat gripping plot threads. The cast of characters were well developed and intriguing.

I thoroughly enjoyed Audrey Flynn’s writing style as I honestly felt like I was in Africa on a safari with Erica. I wonder if a place such as Lebombo Game Reserve really exists.

All I know is that I really loved this book. Jean-Luc is my new book boyfriend and I’d love to go on a safari with him! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick get away from real life.

I had a book to read and I’m glad I picked this one.

This was my first Claire Marti novel. I noticed it is book three in the Finding Forever in Laguna series. The fact that I didn’t read the first two always makes me nervous that I’m going to feel like I am missing something but let me reassure you that isn’t the case. I read this book in one sitting and never felt left out, lost or confused. The only feeling I felt was interest in reading the previous books. The fact that I read this in one sitting demonstrates that it was a quick read for me.

The heroine, Kelly, was a beautiful woman all around who I found easy to respect. She was well matched with the hero, Christian. Together they made an adorable couple with a splash of spice. Each had their own internal conflicts to overcome with the support of their friends and eventually each other. Their relationship was two steps forward and three steps back. I could feel the tension and attraction between them and I was more than ready to stop the back stepping and just move forward. Fortunately the writing style was skilled enough to keep my interest in the back stepping parts otherwise I’d have gotten in my car to go to Hobby Lobby.

I have to comment about the plot surrounding Kelly working for her father’s law firm and her reasons for leaving. I knew this was a contemporary romance vs. a suspense romance but that plot thread easily could have been so much more. I was greatly disappointed that nothing evolved from her findings. Christian could have been the perfect hero to come to her rescue. Kelly saved the incriminating evidence for what? I felt like a few chapters were edited out. However, chapter 21 it’s all resolved. I appreciate a book that provides closure and no loose threads but I felt deprived from the thicker plot possibilities.

Overall it was an entertaining read. I love how Kelly and Christian made me laugh a few times. I enjoyed watching them fall in love. Sunset in Laguna was an easy feel good read. I know Christian is going on my book boyfriend list. I’d like to personally thank him for making this read fantastic.

The cast of characters were relatable and I am curious to go back and read the previous books since I’d like to know more about them. Another reason I’d like to read the previous books in this series is because I appreciated the author, Brenda Whiteside’s, writing style. I liked how it flowed from beginning to end. The story provoked a wide mix of emotions from me.

The heroine, Laura Katz has overcome a troubled past only for it to come back to stir up trouble for her new found romance with Randy Silva. Randy had serious concerns over keeping his ranch safe from a desperate land developer. Together they have so much suspense and drama going on around them that I couldn’t put the book down. I had complete faith in Randy to solve all the issues going on between and around them. It was easy for me to fall in love with Randy.

This was a book that I’d recommend without hesitation. The romance was spicy, the suspense was gripping and the entertainment was gratifying.

Rescued By the Scot is book three and the final book in the series Romancing the Spies. I did read the other two books and was very excited to read this story and I was not disappointed! In fact I want to go back and read all three again!

I was already in a book relationship with the hero, Zane Maxwell, since he was deeply involved in the unresolved treason plot in the previous books. I had a feeling that Zane Maxwell’s story was going to be epic and it was. I knew Zane’s story was going to involve a mystery leading lady and I can’t give enough compliments about this character, Skye MacKinnon. Together Zane and Skye make a delicious spicy romance.

I have a healthy imagination and yet it blows my mind how a writer can come up with a plot that leaves me craving more. Laura A. Barnes is definitely on my favorite author list. I love, love, love the Romancing the Spies series!
It felt very good to be reunited with the characters, Thorn, Ivy, Charles and Raina. I enjoyed reading how they all saved their beloved land of England from the despicable villain, Shears. I was hoping for an orgasmic demise and I received more than I had hoped for. Man, I really want to talk more about that but that would spoil the fun for other readers.
If I was asked if this book could be read as a stand alone I’d answer that it could but I wouldn’t recommend that. It would be like eating a hamburger without the bun or condiments. You could but why would you do that?

If I possessed a stamp of approval then this book would get triple stamped! I love when a book grips me and takes me on an entertaining joy ride filled with unexpected adventure. Rescued by the Scot will be going on my keeper shelf. If you have space on your keepers shelf then give this book a try. If you don’t have any more space then go buy a new shelf because this should absolutely be added!

I have enough in my reality to make me cry. The Fire Flower delivered a wonderful moral message about how home is where the heart is. At least that is what I believe the key to Ivyclose manor represented. There was another deeper message weaved in this story such as “Mary Monk chose life, with dishonor, and she’s turned it to honor. She will survive”. This is a message of surviving and your past doesn’t define who you are or who you can be. There was a message of respecting each other politics and religions. There are readers who love this heartwarming melodrama. I am not one of them.

Reviews are based on personal feelings, tastes and opinion. Just because I love a book doesn’t mean the next person will share my opinion and vice versus. With that being said, I’m honestly confused how I feel about reading books by Edith Layton. The first book I read of hers wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read so I gave her a second chance and it was amazing, so I tried another. This story has me perplexed. I didn’t love it and I didn’t hate it.

Yes, the heroine, Mary Monk, did what she had to do to survive. I completely understood her choices. I believe she was seventeen years old in this story for it states “hers had begun a year ago June, when she’d been in her sixteenth summer.” The hero, Gideon Hawkes was much older. I know he met the king when he was fifteen and then returned to London fifteen years later. So, that puts him in his thirties. Thirty and seventeen is probably historically accurate but left me whirling. I could not connect with Gideon no matter how I tried. I found Gideon to be extremely selfish throughout the entire book. I would have been fine if he had chosen Iveclose manor with Celeste and leave Mary with James. Gideon didn’t deserve Mary.

The ending was a huge surprise. Chapter twenty one wasn’t labeled as an epilogue but for all intents purposes, it was one. This was an Olympic style finish. The ending made the entire book worth reading. The ending alluded to a sequel between Gideon and Mary’s youngest son, John and Celeste’s granddaughter, Fanny. However, I don’t think there will be a sequel. I interpreted it as implying how Ivyclose manor will be eventually returned to the rightful owner, Gideon. I’m guessing that is why he did what he did at the end. Home is where the heart is. While this book wasn’t for me, I know it may work for others.
