Home after years living overseas, Lucy Caldwell makes a shocking confession to her best friend. She could live without sex for the rest of her life and never miss it. She doesn’t realize the man she’s loved forever is in the bar and overhears her alcohol-fueled admission.

Samuel Merrick is horrified when the passionate “brat” he’d once known declares herself frigid. Upon discovering her emotional scars stem from a traumatic event she tried to bury, he vetoes the girlfriends’ dangerous scheme of finding a man to help her rediscover her sexuality, offering to fill the role of lover himself.

What starts as a no-strings arrangement to keep her safe soon becomes an all-consuming passion neither of them is prepared for. Fire burns out of control between them, threatening the very fabric of the friendship they hold so dear. Once the ashes have cooled, will there be anything left to salvage?

The synopsis says “Fire burns out of control between them” “Once the ashes have cooled, will there be anything left to salvage?” I’m not sure when the fire ever went out for the ashes to cool. The sexual teasing between the hero and heroine caused such sexual tension I’m surprised my book didn’t melt in my hands.

I’ve read some hot books in the past and I normally never point out heat levels in my reviews but this story was consistently, effectively, hot. There was heavy sexual tension consistently from beginning to end and it was strong enough that I felt it worth mentioning. If readers enjoy material verging on explicit then this story delivers.

The synopsis is the plot. There aren’t any surprise plot twists or other complex scenarios with depth threaded throughout the story but I thought the plot concept sounded interesting enough, and is why I read it. I just thought there’d be more of it. If not for the traumatic event that the heroine, Lucy, endured, then this book would have had nothing to hold it together. Speaking of this traumatic event, I think there should have been a warning to the reader at the beginning of the book regarding the sensitive matter. I credit the author with writing about this traumatic event with respect, compassion and empathy. I don’t have an issue with the topic matter, but I would have appreciated a heads up.

Samuel was a wonderful hero and easy to feel romantic about. His commitment to family and his caring personality to others were a huge draw for me. I’m thankful Lucy had Samuel to help her with her issue. They were destined to be together since childhood. I liked Lucy and found her easy to relate to and together as a couple, I was pleased to see their love for each other blossom. Even better, I do believe they loved each other emotionally, not just physically. I thought it was cute that several of the secondary characters figured out Samuel and Lucy loved each other much sooner than they did themselves.

If you need some inspiration and are looking for something to read to put you in the mood, then this book has the heat to help you get your motors running. I definitely was concerned about overheating myself. I’d recommend this book to those who are comfortable with a romance with a hot rating and all that goes along with it. Just have ice handy.

Would you forsake your mother to save the woman you loved?

To say Rann and his mother have had a normal mother/son relationship would be a stretch…a big stretch, but he’s always done her bidding.

This time it’s different. Rann hasn’t been able to get the beautiful Season out of his mind. While on his mission to secure the property, he realizes how much Season loves the land, and…he realizes somewhere along the line, Season has stolen his heart.

He soon discovers his mother will go to any length to get what she wants…including murder. Lives spiral out of control, secrets and lies take center stage. Rann is forced to choose between his mother and the woman he loves.

And he’s forced to become as dangerous and as lethal as Charlotte.

Did you ever read a book and not want it to end? This is how I feel about this book. I actually feel like re-reading it right now. I feel like the suspense/mystery parts were so intense that I read them too fast to find out what would happen next. Now that I know how it all played out I’d like to read it slower without the anxiety and soak it all in. I also want to re-read it again because I loved Rann Brogan, the hero. I want him to talk to me the way he talked to Season, the heroine. By the way, I loved her name. Between her name, their relationship and the suspense, this is an unforgettable book. I can’t think of a better title than Season, Unforgettable, because it was.

This book packed a punch. I felt a gamut of emotions as I was reading – from happy, joy, fear, laughter, sad and, my favorite, love. The cast of characters were well developed and very relatable. I adored Season’s grandfather, Duna, who was very sweet and kind. I especially got a laugh from one of Rann’s friend’s name which is totally irrelevant to the story but I have to share. I had a secret crush on a boy all four years of high school named Heath. I’ve never met another human with that name. Seeing it in print made me laugh. Like I said, totally irrelevant but it was a flashback for me. Season, Rann and his friends also played a drinking game that I played back in the day that I haven’t thought about in years. Sharing those similarities made the book more special to me.

If the synopsis sounds interesting to you then I definitely suggest taking the time to read it. This book is impossible to predict which makes the story all the more fun and interesting. There were a couple of plot twists that I never would have guessed in a million years. This is my first Keta Diablo book and I would definitely read another book written by her. I absolutely loved Season, Unforgettable!

He likes a challenge…

Here’s the deal: I’m the best center fielder in the major leagues. I’m also the guy who cost his team the championship game and acted very unsportsmanlike. So, when the team hires a social media manager to repair the damage to my reputation, I don’t argue. But then I meet Chloe Conrad, and I suddenly understand what people mean when they say they have an instant connection to someone. Which means I’m in serious trouble. Chloe’s a smart, sexy distraction I can’t afford, but one date can’t hurt, right? Only she turns me down. And just like that, it’s game on.

She’s sworn off love…

Finn Auprince is the hottest player in the major leagues. Look up “It Factor” in the dictionary and there’s his handsome face. He’s also my biggest client and I don’t care how easy it is to talk to him or how fun it is to manage his social media accounts, I will not give in to his charms. Then one drunken night, I tell him about my curse: all my previous boyfriends have found their soul mates while dating me. One more heartbreak, and I’ll never recover. But Finn doesn’t believe in curses—he believes in me. Professionally and personally. He sets out to prove the universe isn’t against me, and that his one true love isn’t waiting around the next corner.

The problem is…can we play the game of love and both come out on top?

I’m going to be honest and tell you that baseball is not one of my favorite sports. However, after reading this story, I have a new appreciation for the sport thanks to the hero, Finn Auprince. I am certain the writing style also helped recruit me into being a baseball fan. The story started with an author’s note for the reader telling us that Finn has two brothers and to “stay tuned for two more books as they each get their happily ever after.” This was my first Robin Bielman book and I guarantee it won’t be my last. The author’s note says, all three Auprince brother’s have stolen her heart and that she hopes that they’d steal mine too. Well, I wish I could say that I’ll be faithful to Finn as my book boyfriend but if his brothers are as equally well written as Finn was then I’m looking at two more book boyfriends in my future. I adored Finn for his humble personality despite being a famous baseball player. I also respected his love for his family.

This book had a little bit everything that kept it flowing smoothly and kept me entertained from beginning to end. The heroine, Chloe Conrad, gets the credit for making this story a heartwarming, unpredictable and fun read. She was my favorite kind of heroine. Smart, witty and independent with a touch of vulnerability.

Together, Finn and Chloe make for an unforgettable romance with a lasting book glow lasting hours after the book ended. I just couldn’t get the smile off my face. I loved the element of competition between them. Without giving any spoilers I can only say that this was a great book! I definitely would read it again and would suggest others to put it on their must read list.

But how long will it be before he recognizes her beneath her disguise and the sparks begin to fly once more?

A Debutante in Disguise was a very interesting and well written historical romance story between a brave heroine, Letty and a commendable hero, Lord Anthony. The story starts with a desirable prologue that swiftly left me wanting to read more. I enjoyed the descriptive scenes and well developed characters.

Letty was a unique lady with dreams and goals that were limited by society. I enjoyed how she took leadership overcoming those obstacles. It was a huge risk she took and I could feel the tension and fear of being discovered. I’m so thankful that we don’t live in that era any longer. If fact, I didn’t think about it but most of my doctors that I see are women. I’m glad they don’t have to go through the charade of dressing up as men to be allowed to practice medicine as a doctor. I appreciate those in the past who made this possible by challenging society’s limits and paving a path for change. Letty was the perfect example of courage as she persisted to follow her dreams.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I appreciate a book that teaches me something new and is still entertaining. My education started with the Author Note in the beginning of the book. I didn’t know about Dr. James Miranda Barry’s life long masquerade. That was a fascinating fact that Eleanor Webster shared. I’m not a big history buff but A Debutante in Disguise was rather fascinating from beginning to end. The pace was a nice steady flow which brought the story to life for me or in this case, took me back into the past.

I felt many emotions throughout this story. I enjoyed a few laughs here and there to lighten up my mood around the hero, Anthony. The synopsis sums it up accurately. Anthony is a “brooding, scarred war hero”. His internal struggles pulled at my heart strings. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for not only him but for all the other war heroes who return with internal or external and often both internal and external ramifications from serving our country. A Debutante in Disguise brought hope to the reader through the heroine, Letty.

Letty and Anthony needed each other in more ways than one. They are the epitome of persistence. Together they can overcome any and all obstacles. There was no doubt that their love was genuine and everlasting.

This was my first Eleanor Webster book and it won’t be my last. Bravo for developing a heartwarming love story filled with compassion and romance.

I personally enjoyed this book. It helped pass the time while I sat in traffic that took three hours to go five miles. If not for this book then I would have gone out of my mind.

I thought it was an entertaining read as I read about how Eleanor, the heroine, goes into hiding in a tiny remote town. I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. I wasn’t disappointed at all as I dove into the story and discovered an engaging plot. I thought it was funny when the hero, Tyson, met Eleanor. It was an immediate love at first sight for all of us. I have a soft spot for a man in uniform.

Eleanor’s secrets brought about a bit of mystery that created a sense of suspense. Tyson knew she was hiding something. The story line was pretty predictable but I enjoyed the descriptive writing style. Something else that I appreciated was the character development. Tyson has two brothers that I’m interested in reading about. Fortunately for me Going Down is book one in the Hold out for a Hero series.

The ending was satisfying, especially since Tyson and Eleanor had their happily ever after. The ending of the book hooked me with a sense of curiosity which made me wonder about the the next installment in the series. Because of it, I am interested in reading book two.

This is a fun romance filled with chemistry that made for a steamy car ride for me. This was my first Shelli Stevens book and it won’t be my last. This is a book I recommend.

Living in depopulated Blake’s Folly, a quirky community of rusting cars, old trailers, clapboard shacks and thirsty weeds, she spends her time cooking vegetarian meals, rescuing unwanted dogs and protecting the most unloved creatures on earth: snakes. What man would share those interests? Certainly not Jace Constant whose life in Chicago includes elegant women, fine dining and contemporary art.

Jace has come to Nevada to research the new book he’s writing, but he won’t be staying; as far as he’s concerned, Blake’s Folly is hell on earth. He’s disgusted by desert dust on his fine Italian shoes, dog hair on his cashmere sweaters and by desert bleakness. As for snakes, he doesn’t only despise them: they terrify him.

In need of some juicy romantic gossip, the other 52 residents of Blake’s Folly have decided Alice has been alone for long enough. The attraction between her and Jace is obvious to everyone, so why worry about essential differences? If you trust in love, solutions do appear. But don’t those solutions call for too many compromises, too much self-sacrifice?

This is a special book. I’ll explain why but first I want to say that I am not a writer nor could I ever be one. I respect and admire those who can write, especially books that leave an impact on me such as this one has. I enjoy reading and try to write honest reviews. I’ve been reading romance stories for thirty two years. I’ve read my share of series. It’s not often that I’m thrown for a loop like I was after reading “All About Charming Alice”. The reason I say all this is because the author, J. Arlene Culiner is truly brilliant in my opinion. Typically in a series an author develops a cast of characters and recycles them through out each book in the series, basically changing the hero and heroine and giving them their own story. Other authors often give previous leading characters a turn as a guest appearance throughout the series. Traditionally this makes readers enjoy a sense of community, a sense of family and home, especially when they’ve read the series in order. For those that read it out of sync, well, it can be a little challenging for a reader to connect with the characters but not impossible. In fact it’s highly doable in this novel. I imagine it’s challenging to write a series that can be read as a standalone yet, that is exactly what J. Arlene Culiner has perfected!

This is why All About Charming Alice is a special book. This series is not wrapped around the characters per se as much as it is focused on the location. The setting is in a deserted town called Blake’s Folly. The loop I referred to and that I was thrown by was, after I read book one, Desert Rose, I had expectations from past experiences how book two was going to be. There wasn’t a guest appearance by the leading characters from book one. In fact it’s as if it didn’t exist. At first I was disappointed that the characters are written in both books at around the same time period but then I realized that is the coolest idea in the whole world. That allows the books in the series to be truly read as a standalones yet be part of a series. It me took thirty two years to find a series like this. For me that sells the book right there. The unique writing style is ultimately why I’d recommend this book and series.

This is perhaps the longest review I’ve ever written but I have to share how the leading lady in All About Charming Alice was another highlight as to why this book should be read. I appreciate unique characteristics in heroines. Alice loves dogs and snakes. Yes, I said snakes. Trust me it’s hilarious.

The hero, Jace, was written as a perfect counterpart for Alice. I felt the chemistry and enjoyed his persistent positive attitude to win Alice’s heart.

The first few pages caught my interest and held it throughout the book as I steadily turned the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed the ups and down as they worked out the logistics of their relationships.

I sincerely recommend this story and hope people won’t pass on it because the heroine is a herpetologist. It was a great book! Now, if it was a spider specialist, then that’s an automatic pass. Ha, ha.

This is my second Leslie Scott book and I’m certain I’ll read more books by her since I find her writing style to be captivating. I find it captivating because she makes her books come to life. Hot Lap is part of the Arcadia Fast series. I didn’t read the first book, The Finish Line, however that wasn’t an issue. I was able to quickly catch on to what was going on and connect with all the characters. As much as it can be read as a stand alone, I do want to go back and read the first one. I want to read Jordan and Raelynn’s story because I felt slightly left out when they talked about their memories. I want to feel the entire Casey family experience in Arkadia, Texas.

This story is about Hadley Morgan and Aiden Casey. Hadley, the heroine, pulled at my heartstrings. She’s lived a heartbreaking life prior to meeting the Casey family. I couldn’t help cheering when she opened her heart up to Aiden, the hero.

Aiden is book boyfriend worthy. Many of the male characters are. I look forward to the next book in the series to find out who will be the next hero and heroine. I am hoping it will be Aiden’s sister, Breanna and the newcomer, Noah. Noah is a bit mysterious in Hot Lap and I want to discover more about him.

I found this romance story, Hot Lap, to be an entertaining read. The ups and downs between Hadley and Aiden made for a fast paced, riveting story. I didn’t know much about street racing so I found that topic quite fascinating. Overall, this book was a winning race for me.

Calliope, the heroine, was extraordinary and I’m not one bit surprised that Anna J. Stewart was the one to pull it off. I’ve read stories by her in the past and loved each and every one. I am late to the boat in discovering the Butterfly Harbor Series as Holiday Kisses is book five. I haven’t read the first four books but I wish I had. Xander, the hero, was wonderfully matched with Calliope’s character. Together they made a heartwarming story. I enjoyed reading the process of how they came to a mutual compromise regarding their difference of opinions over important matters. Together, they are unstoppable.

It’s not often I get uninterrupted time to do just what I love best, to dive into a story and stay there. The best part of my day was when a severe thunderstorm passed through and at that very moment, I was at a suspenseful part in the story. You can imagine how the combination of the two made me come alive with adrenaline, but I never put the book down. It was too exciting!

From the first page I was drawn into the story as Jenna, the heroine, was exploring the house she inherited from her grandfather. There were several well developed characters introduced throughout the story. I loved the setting of a quiet California fishing village. It was the perfect backdrop for gossip, rumors and murder. Seventeen Days consisted of all the ingredients needed to create a fast paced story with unexpected plot twists.

I felt the chemistry between the hero, Rick, and Jenna even though he was reserved. Rick had his reasons to be cautious especially after what happened to him three years ago. It was sweet how his son and Jenna connected over her drawings. Jenna was easy to like. It was only a matter of time before they realized they had a future together.

I need to mention how much I absolutely loved that the author, Linda Griffin, chose to end the story with an “Afterword”. That was better than an epilogue, and everyone knows how much I adore epilogues. I just loved that wrap up. Seriously, this book deserves the opportunity to be read. I recommend it.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this book was filled with unpredictable suspense and mystery. I had to put it down to go to sleep, but it took a long time for sleep to come. If I didn’t have to work then I would have just kept on reading. I made sure to finish it when I got home from work.

I fell in love with Alba, also known as, El Toro, the heroine, and Pharaoh, the hero. They were clearly soulmates with hot chemistry. They had so much in common – from their past hardships to their perseverance to survive.

How realistic was this story? I have no idea but I suppose anything is possible in today’s world, especially in New York. It sounded more than believable to me. I found the scenic descriptions about graffiti art very interesting.

Anyway, I have zero qualms in recommending this thrilling book. It was a really great read!
