For as long as Violet Robinson can remember she has been in love with her best friend’s older brother, Brendan Archer. But she is only ten years old, and he breaks her heart by rejecting her, just before moving away.

Eight years later, Brendan knows he’s got to keep an eye on his sister and her best friend, Violet, when they move overseas for college. He has always felt bad about breaking Violet’s heart, but he was tired of her following him around. He wasn’t interested in little girls.

Only, Violet’s no longer a girl. She’s a woman. Now he wants her and knows he can’t have her.

But what will happen when he finds out she’s pregnant? Will he be her prince charming now, or will he turn his back on her?

Violet and Penelope are best of friends. Brandon is Penelope’s older brother, who Violet has a crush on.

Her Prince Charming is a coming of age tale that shows heartbreak, love, friendship and family. It has a pretty simple plot. Violet has had a crush on Brandon since she was a child. The crush was not at first reciprocated but I loved seeing how their relationship charged, and the ups and downs. Violet and Penelope are so different from each other, yet so close and understanding. Penelope is headstrong, stubborn and at the front of anything that is happening. Violet is quite the opposite.

The one thing that somehow confused me a little was the talk and eventual love/crush rejection of Violet when she was ten. Was the talk by Brandon necessary? I also kept wondering if the relationship would come to fruition. Will they get together? And since both the families are pretty close to each other, how will they react? The suspense of these questions did become annoying at times.

However the climax was amazing, and the epilogue was sweet and just the thing I needed. It warmed my heart to the max.

Frustrated and angry at having lost her job due to not allowing a man into her bed, Liz decides to blow off some steam at a random punk concert that was trying to use glamour to get human’s in attendance. Only Liz discovers the concert delivered far more than she’d bargained for.

This is a fun and sexy short story. I found Liz’s voice to be modern and relatable and I enjoyed this quick snapshot into her world, being able to witness the paranormal activity and realities of the true world hidden to most people, but without any glamour or magic being able to affect her. I was pleased that Liz managed to get herself – and her friend – out of the concert. Even though the seductive spells didn’t work on her, I realise it could have been quite easy for Liz to go along with the flow, since everyone else was getting it on.

I feel the intimacy of the Siren coming after Liz after the concert – and away from the spell and magic – really helped me appreciate their sex a lot more. I had to laugh at the ending though – I hadn’t expected it at all and thoroughly appreciated the slightly off-centre solution to Liz’s problems. With a fun, Happy For Now ending I feel this could be a great prequel or teaser before a full length novel – one I’d happily read.

Fun and fast-paced with a good dash of magic and mayhem, this short story is sure to appeal to plenty of readers.

Grab a nice, cold drink, sit back for a few hours and turn off your brain. This is a great, naughty short story for readers who are looking for a dirty bit of virgin-and-the-mafia’s-man shenanigans. I don’t feel this is a good story for the faint of heart – neither Marco nor Petal have any illusions about who they are to each other – or what Petal’s purpose is in being Marco’s kept woman. There’s not a lot of romance or foreplay or gentleness in this quick story. A few times I really struggled to find Petal’s actions believable (like the first time Marco came home after a job – surely the smell and mess would have curbed her desire?) but each time reality tried to intrude I simply let it go, reminded myself this was a sexy story and not reality and dove back in.

Readers looking for an intense, dark and explicit story should find this extremely appealing. I feel the author did a great job getting the blend of darkness, death and “living in the now” sort of feel of the mafia lifestyle just right. Even though I had some doubts and qualms, the excellent writing and intriguing characters kept pulling me back to the story and interested in finding out what happened next.

While I don’t feel this story will appeal to all readers, I have to admit I found it darkly sensual. An acquired taste for sure – but readers who like darker romances, assassin, or other mafia stories should definitely feel this checks a similar sort of box.

An interesting short story, guaranteed to pull the reader in.

I picked this novella up because the cover intrigued me. I’m glad I did. It was worth the half hour of reading. I had to know what would happen next. This is a short story, so there isn’t much time to get invested with the characters. I see it’s part of a series, so I’ll check out the others for sure.

There are a few quibbles. There is a lot of telling in this story. I felt like I was watching it happen, rather than being in the head of any of the characters. The characters are supposed to be hard and tough, yet they spend quite a bit of time getting emotional. It was odd, but kind of worked. There were a few phrases used that took me out of the story. It might not have worked for me, but might be fine for other readers. The plot is a tad contrived, too. I’m not sure a CIA agent would just stroll into a prince’s life, but it was good for a few minutes of escapism.

While I wouldn’t classify this as a romance, but rather a hot read with sexy characters, it’s worth the time to read and I’m interested in seeing where this series goes. Check it out.

Amos Marks is the engineer for the Abigail. The ship is owned by himself and his brothers: Flynn, Kal, and Garth. She is a trading ship but they also do some mercenary work, although they do their research to make certain that the person deserves to be taken out.

This is a very sweet novel with wonderful love scenes. The tenderness made me melt but there is also quite a bit of lust involved to. Angelina is a strong character with a past that would have broken most people. She took her destiny in her own hands, stowing away on a random ship to get away from her controlling uncle. Her entire existence had been forced to live in a cage, a very luxuries cage but a cage nonetheless.

Her determination to lose her virginity to any man shows her desperation to live her own life. She figured that once she lost her virginity she could get dropped off on a planet and figure out where she should go and what she should do.

Abel is a strong man with a family of tough brothers who love and cherish their younger sister. There is nothing they wouldn’t do to find out where their sister is or any information as to where she could be. That was the plan until he meets Angelina. It was funny seeing his reaction when this beautiful woman throws herself at him.

Their connection is immediate and strong. He admires her beauty but is wowed by her strength of character. Abel’s protective manner seems to be a behavior of all his brothers. Once they learned how dep his feelings went, they welcome her as part of the family the close ranks around her and were ready to do anything they could to keep her safe. Angelina is also powerful enough to help the brothers find their sister. She wants to help her new family heal.

I would have liked to see the relationship develop a little slower. Also, the talk of their sister seems to be a background plot even though it seems like it should be the major plot.

A wonderful novel full of great characters developing into one unit whose love has changed them for the better. Each character adds to the plot and character development. If you like a short, sweet novel with strong characters this is the book for you.

Widow Eleanor Charter knows one thing—she does not want to marry again. Especially not to someone forceful and dominant. So why is Theo Moncur, the Earl of Glensmoor interested in her? Dominant Theo doesn’t have marriage on his mind. Having given his mistress her congé, his growing attraction toward Eleanor makes him wonder if she would fill that place. He sees something in her that appeals. The lady would be a perfect submissive—not that she agrees. However, the more he gets to know her, the more he understands she is the only lady for him. Now all he has to do is persuade Eleanor to agree.

Theodore, Earl of Glensmoor, was a confirmed rake and Dominant. Knowing that soon he would have to settle down and likely wed, he promised his Godmother that he would attend a number of the deadly boring – but necessary – social engagements men of his status were obliged to attend. While ducking his ex-paramour, Theo couldn’t suppress his intrigue by Lady Eleanor – an attractive and curious young woman widowed after only four months of marriage. Theo might be seeking very specific things in a woman, but Lady Eleanor captures his attention in a manner he simply can’t deny.

I admit I can’t recall having ever read a Regency story with a Dom as the hero – so this story grabbed my attention from the beginning. I was really pleased, therefore, to discover this short story blended the two genres really well. With the romantic history and lavish setting of the Regency era and the slightly edgy modern aspect of a BDSM style of story I thought this book blended to two elements really well. Lady Eleanor was not a simpering young miss – and while classified as a rake, Theo was not just some bored man trapped by his own dalliances. Theo was intrigued by Eleanor and wanted her and was determined to pursue and attract her. Eleanor, for her own part, was determined to retain her independence and was very well-matched to him in my opinion.

Given the shortness of the story I can’t really blame the author for the quick build up between the two characters – there just wasn’t room for a slower move to the bedroom or more of a chance for me as a reader to get to know the characters. While this really did feel a bit like a hasty roll in bed – a “happy for now” style of whirlwind romance and not something that could necessarily last the distance of time – with so few pages I can’t see how their relationship could have been given more depth in the quick setting. I found the sex to be hot and only a very little bit kinky but feel it should be satisfying to many readers.

An interesting blend of Regency historical and BDSM I found this to be a fun and different style of short story.

Carter can’t believe his luck. He desperately needed a housekeeper, not that he welcomed this amazing woman into his home for that reason. He can cope with her bond with her daughter, no matter how it forces him to remember his lost young son. And he can’t give her his heart, but what he can give is surely enough.

She’s done waiting. She deserves more—and so does he.

Carter worked himself to the bone to keep his ranch afloat and surviving. He had a load of problems – but his biggest one was his inability to find a good housekeeper to cook, clean and keep his employees comfortable. Kathleen is in her forties and a sturdy, mature woman. When she and a colleague come to Carter’s town to oversee a charity auction and audit the bids Kathleen and Carter are both surprised by how well and easily they click together. What stars as a weekend of fooling around quickly turns into something far more deep and serious.

I really enjoyed this story. I found both Carter and Kathleen to be relatable and empathetic characters. Both are mature (in their forties) and long past that first blush of romantic love, and each have lived a rich and full life so far. With history and baggage, they’ve both made peace with who and where they are in their respective lives, and while Carter in particular knows it’s time he move on and open his heart again, they’re both not in a rush to make silly mistakes. I have to admit I loved how sensible both Carter and Kathleen are. I could really relate to them both and completely understood their feelings and actions. I was immediately drawn into the story because I wanted to read and enjoy every word – at no stage did I need to skip ahead a few sentences when one or the other of them said something silly or that made me want to roll my eyes.

With a bunch of interesting (and personally I often found them humorous) secondary characters even though this story really does mainly focus on Carter and Kathleen, it’s clear they’re not isolated or living too far in seclusion. There’s a feeling of community around them and the ranch-hands in particular make for a richer and more complex setting than just a man and a woman falling in love with each other on a working ranch. While the romance between Carter and Kathleen is explicit I was please, personally, that the sex didn’t over-power the story. It’s there, and certainly steamy enough to raise a few eyebrows I’m sure, but it was the day-to-day aspects between the couple that helped me see and believe in their love. This wasn’t some sexy fling of a weekend that somehow grew into more, I loved how the author showed this was two compatible people who met by chance and allowed themselves the opportunity to get to know each other – in all ways – and discovered a lovely, sweet and blossoming relationship.

In many ways this was my favourite style of story – with two interesting and completely relatable characters, progressed in their lives but still able to make changes and be excited about the future. The pace of the romance is slow enough for me to keep up with it and believe in the strength of it, but fast enough – and steamy enough – that I didn’t feel bored or like things were dragging. Best of all this is a story about love and romance and two people making each other happy, and I really loved it. I’d highly recommend this story and can’t wait to go back and read it all over again.
