One night to show her that submitting to him doesn’t make her weak, that true submission requires strength and trust.

Will pushing Rose to her limits prove to her she can trust him with her body and heart, and can she let go of her deepest fears long enough to enjoy her surrender?

A well trained and professional bodyguard, Rose is perfectly comfortable with danger and risk in her professional life. In her personal life, however, she’s been reluctant to follow through on her true desires. Lucien has known for months that deep down Rose yearned to give up her control. Has the time finally come for them to both take what they really want?

I found this to be a well paced and interesting short story. While Rose and Lucien’s characters are both fairly straight forward I found myself really enjoying and empathizing with Rose’s voice and the author’s style of narration. It was clear to me from the first page that even though Rose was a strong, capable and very modern woman she was new and a little off-kilter with the depth and hunger of her sexual needs. This small snippet of vulnerability really had me relating to Rose and helped make her feel more human to me – I wanted to watch her explore this side of herself that was new to her and I was rooting for her from the beginning.

Each chapter alternated from Lucien’s to Rose’s perspective and I found this really helped me connect with both characters. While I continued to find Lucien somewhat mysterious I enjoyed that his affection and desire for Rose was genuine and deep-seated. It was refreshing to me that he didn’t start from the perspective of curiosity or wanting to teach (or worse to my mind – train) Rose into the BDSM lifestyle but held her not only in high esteem but he really wanted a proper and lasting relationship with her. I felt this lent an air of spice and edge to the whole story – knowing it wasn’t a game or a test-run for Lucien in particular, but more of an urgent desire to mesh both their needs into a form of intimacy they could both enjoy and explore together.

Readers looking for an intense plot outside of the growing relationship between Rose and Lucien probably won’t be satisfied with the stalker side-plot. Only mentioned briefly then wrapped up very quickly toward the end I really feel that the main conflict and plot element is the self-discovery between Rose and Lucien and the deepening of their sexual relationship.

The sex between Rose and Lucien was hot, intense and quite kinky. Readers looking for something with a bit of spice should find this aspect of the story quite satisfying. I was also intrigued by Lucien’s half-brother and am hopeful that there might be a follow-up story revolving around him.

Hot, intense and kinky this is a great, quick read and I really enjoyed it. I’ll be keeping an eye out for any future works from this author.

As her past and present collide, both their lives and hearts are at risk.

This is a novella in the Marks Mercenaries series and, although this can be read as a standalone, reading it after the others makes it better. Abigail (Abby) Marks is hiding from Jasper Freeman, the leader of the Simplistics who caused a mine explosion to kill her brothers so he could kidnap her to become his wife when she matured. Talk about starting with a bang!

The characters are well developed with a fun plot. Abby has been on her own since she escaped from Jasper, which made her grow up faster than if the mines had not been sabotaged. I had to admire her strength, tenacity, and stubbornness. I could tell how much she missed her brothers and how their death affected her, causing her to have horrible nightmares of the explosion and knowing her brothers could not have survived.

Her loneliness and fear of someone figuring out she is a woman rules her life. This drastically changes when she meets Vaden. He also has a stubborn streak a mile long and immediately figured out she is a woman and her identity. I loved how the characters evolved through the story. Truly, I loved it.

I enjoyed the sex scenes as they are hot, but well done. The author used them to show how much they love each other and how strong their relationship is. There is one thing that I think could have been changed. They end up in bed almost as soon as they meet. I thought it would have been a good idea for them to get to know each other a little before they jumped into bed together.

I enjoyed reading this book and I recommend reading the others in the series as they are just as well-written. This is a wonderful love story that shows that although you can be strong, having a soft place to land is wonderful. It also shows family is everything.

While they both are aware of how clichéd their desire is, neither can continue to hold back when they both begin to admit their feelings.

Short and steamy, this was a lovely quick read. I enjoyed the interplay between Bellah and Dalton and while the plot itself is not particularly novel I liked the connection and emotion that was so obvious between the two main characters. Readers who are looking for a sexy, comfortable and quick story should find this really fits their needs. With a slightly cartoonish villain and no shocks in the way the story unfolds, I found the story really sits on Bellah and Dalton’s characters and the strength of their romance and connection together. I’m not certain the way in which Bellah and Dalton finally admitted – and acted upon – their feelings will be every reader’s cup of tea, some might find it a little unflattering or unrealistic, but I definitely felt that Bellah and Dalton had a strong and long-standing attraction and good chemistry so their progress from professional to intimate wasn’t too much of a stretch for me.

I found myself quickly turning the pages and the sex between Bellah and Dalton was steamy and sensual. With a strong emotional connection between them and a long-simmering need it was wonderful to see them come together and start a more intimate relationship together.

Sexy and quick, this is a lovely albeit short read.

Mae had been deeply attracted to her boss, JD since her first day on the job. Happy to frequently volunteer to do extra work, Mae stays back late one night in the office. When both she and JD are abducted they’re thrown into a crazy situation and will need to work together to try and escape with their lives.

While I found both Mae and JD’s characters interesting and realistic, the situation they find themselves in was startling and felt somewhat unbelievable. I was a little surprised that they both – Mae in particular – didn’t appear to be overly worried or fearful about their situation. While I can understand people react differently to danger and stress, it made the surreal feeling only stronger when neither of them freaked out very much. I found it strange and jarring to my belief in their story, considering the fact they’d been kidnapped by balaclava-clad men with stun guns and locked in an underground bunker.

Aside from this aspect to the plot, I otherwise found Mae and JD’s characters to be interesting and interact together really well. Mae struck me as a modern, sassy and intelligent woman that I could relate to and JD had a delicious edge of mystery and intrigue that hovered around him from the first few pages. This really helped keep my attention and with the short length of the story I eagerly turned the pages to discover what happened next.

The sex between Mae and JD was hot and felt relatable to. I thought this particular aspect to the story was well paced – fast enough to not feel like an add-on to the end of the story, but not right at the start of their kidnapping which would have felt fake to me. I also enjoyed how Mae and JD had plenty of (admittedly enforced) time together to get to know each other a bit. This helped make their growing relationship feel understandable and to a degree relatable.

Slightly over the top, this fast-paced short story was both interesting and sexy. I feel readers willing to disconnect their brains and just sit back and enjoy the ride should enjoy this and particularly feel a good connection to the two main characters.

This is an adult novella so expect plenty of spice. This is mainly in one scene when Levi and Kya first meet but there are sparks aplenty whenever they’re together. Chloe had always been extra-close to her Uncle Dominic. The ex-SEAL was far younger than Chloe’s other family and Dominic was the only one who always made time for her. When Chloe and Dominic’s worlds both get torn apart the summer before Chloe starts college they each will need to face some hard truths that they’ve both been denying. Can they resettle their world, together?

I enjoyed this steamy short story. With a lovely slow and detailed beginning, I was pleased that Chloe and Dominic didn’t simply act on their feelings the moment Chloe came of age. There were a number of complications hampering both Chloe and Dominic and obstacles they each needed to overcome before they were clear and in the right place to act on their long-standing attractions. I was also very relieved, personally, that Dominic was clearly shown as being genuinely in love and besotted with Chloe’s aunt – there was no shenanigans or questioning Dominic’s motives and this helped ease me into really enjoying both Dominic’s character and being happy with the way Chloe and Dominic’s relationship grew over time.

While I needed to throw logic out of the window to a degree – too many things clicked perfectly into place at exactly the same time for me to feel it was truly realistic – I don’t feel the author stretched the boundary of realism too far. More importantly, I found the gradual easing of Dominic and Chloe’s relationship from that of family who shared a special connection and into something more to be both well written and tastefully handled. I’m not certain this will be every readers cup of tea, there is no blood-tie between Chloe and Dominic but there is still the family connection and Chloe was young when her (innocent) attraction to Dominic began. Readers looking for something sexy and only slightly taboo should find this suits their tastes.

I was pleased the intimacy didn’t begin until about half way through the short story. Personally I feel a story like this needed the longer build-up, showing and outlining how this wasn’t some kinky fantasy or darker story unfurling, but simply two people who grew over time to love and appreciate each other. And when Chloe and Dominic did finally explore the more physical aspect of their attraction the sex between them was hot and explicit.

Slightly naughty, this is a good and strongly written short story I feel should appeal to many readers.

Marie worshipped Vassago from afar when she was younger. But once he discovers the mess she left back home, she’s convinced she will never be more to him than a casual fling. And that’s if he survives the danger she brought along.

This is the 6th book in the series. Though it could be read as a stand alone my suggestion would be to start from the beginning, if you want a better understanding. The characters or couples who appear in this have already had their story told in the previous books. It gives the background info that can help a bit with the characters. That being said I just wish their were a few more scenes between Marie and her ex or even her life before she came to Demons on Wheels MCs.

Jimmy (aka Vassago) and Marie have known each other since they were children.  Vassago and Marie has a fiery chemistry. Vassago was really understanding and was somehow what grounded Marie. Vassago was a lot more in touch with Marie’s emotions than she was. I loved seeing the talks between them. This book gave these two the chance to develop with each other and that I loved watching.

It had romance, friendship and brotherhood, and a bit of action. For me it was a well rounded book which had enough of everything.

The only problem is resisting Killian.

With years of pent up love and frustration tugging at them, will they be able to avoid succumbing to their forbidden mating? And what will happen when the evil which they were sent to destroy threatens to tear them apart forever?

But Prudence has never been to earth and Killian knows only too well of how dangerous it can be. Can they each find what they’re looking for?

I found this to be a really well-written and encompassing paranormal/magical style of story. The world-building was intense and very thorough. Readers who love delving into alternate and magic-infused styles of reality should find this story really delivers on that front. I was pleased the author spent a fair bit of time in the beginning explaining and showing the reader the set-up of their world. While personally I found it mostly easy to pick up there’s a lot of background and description that’s needed to set the scene and I was pleased the author managed to keep my interest throughout this first third or so of the book.

Overall I enjoyed the pacing of the story – Prudence and Killian knowing they were mates and having already met and had problems kept the romance aspect of this story from being too slow, in my mind. My personal tastes would have had more of the romance element incorporated into the story, and less of the world-building and magical/paranormal aspect, but I think many readers won’t feel the same and will adore the depth and intensity of the paranormal parts of the story.

I also thought the balance between the mission Killian and Prudence were sent to earth for got a little lost in the first half of the book. The author did a good job of incorporating three very strong themes – the new paranormal world, the relationship between Killian and Prudence and the mission to save earth – but I found the first half of the book weighed very heavily toward setting up the paranormal world and showing where Killian and Prudence were emotionally, and this left the mission lagging behind a little bit. The second half of the story had the pace picking right back up again and I really enjoyed the latter half of the story.

The sex and connection between Killian and Prudence really let the sparks fly and I enjoyed the second half of the story a lot. I also enjoyed how the mission clearly wove into something much larger and this gave me a lot of hope and interest in the upcoming stories that appear to be planned for the series.

I found this to be an interesting and action-packed story which was a good foundation to start a new series on. With strong world building and a few new-to-me concepts this is a good read and one I can recommend for readers who enjoy magical and paranormal styles of stories.

I enjoyed this fun and sexy short story. I found the interactions between Mandy and Dale spicy and exciting. In particular, I liked watching the large, powerful biker learn the hard way that sometimes something really worthwhile needed time, effort and some deeper thought. While I completely understood where Mandy was coming from – what woman wants to risk having her heart broken a second time by the same man? – I did feel that she was a little harsh on Dale. I can appreciate there wouldn’t have been much of a story had they actually sat down and talked rationally about their thoughts, expectations and feelings surrounding their newly begun romance, but to a degree the conflict between them felt rather blown all out of proportion to my mind.

I loved the chemistry between Dale and Mandy and felt they were well suited. I found myself believing both in their attraction to each other and the potential long-term aspect of their future together. With plenty of deliciously explicit sex, some raunchy dirty talk and enough heat to burn the place down I feel there’s plenty in this short story to appeal to readers who enjoy a sensual and spicy hot read.

An enjoyable, quick and sexy read.
