Sergeant’s Secret Baby was a wonderful book that had me captivated from page one.

Life had taught Shiloh Anderson some very hard lessons. When her bad news boyfriend ran off with everything she owned and left her stranded in small town bar that was when things started looking up for this very independent girl. She found herself befriended by a friendly bartender and then knocked up by his sexy Army Sergeant brother after a smoking hot one night stand. Drake Edwards didn’t forget the mysterious beauty he hooked up with the night before he shipped out to complete his last tour of duty. However, he was stunned when she contacted him a few months later to break the news that he was about to become a daddy. He did not take it well, at all. He made a big mistake that would later have him working very hard to earn Shiloh’s trust.

This book wrecked me. It was heartbreaking in that I could feel Shiloh’s frustration as fate seemed to be conspiring against her. She had nearly given up on anything good ever happening in her life. She faced blow after blow and still worked so tirelessly to provide better for her baby. So when Drake came back into her life and wanted a relationship it really was nearly impossible for her to put aside her pride and accept his help. For his part Drake was actually a good guy which in the beginning it didn’t look that way. He was relentless in trying to do right by Shiloh and the baby.

I loved this story. The writing was perfect as the author unveiled a believable relationship that began in lust but then gutted my emotions as the she provided a window seat to watching this couple slowly take that fall into love. I will be recommending this one to all of my friends.

But is love enough to save Rachel’s sanity?

This novelette isn’t a love fest just for the main characters; it’s also about fans of Ms. Knight who have greatly missed visiting her famous Mageverse where the concept was original, sensual, fascinating and exciting. The Mageverse is back and Rachel and Nathan explore one of the roles of one of its residents. The title of this book isn’t just clever but exact. Anyone who has read the series from the beginning knows what is in store and it’s a hot one!

There is a nod to one of the earlier story arcs and I liked how Ms. Knight seamlessly wove it into the plot. Rachel has to go through a trial and she’s scared out of mind because she can so easily envision the worst. In the beginning I’m pretty sure Nathan felt the same way but as the story unfolds something happens to change his mind. I am not saying what but it’s exciting, gripping and I couldn’t put the book down.

Erotic romance readers are in for a treat as Ms. Knight knows her way around when it comes to writing sexy stuff. There’s a lot to enjoy throughout Master of Seduction so make sure something cold is by your side while reading.

Although the plot isn’t deep and there are no true villains to fight against, the dynamics between Rachel and Nathan are what hold this story together. I liked their bantering relationsip, their humor and their dialogue. It’s about life changes, the challenges to facing them head on and embracing the possibilities. Readers will have no problem in identifying the struggle Nathan faces – torn between what he knew his duty to be and what he was feeling. Can he trust it? Readers find out in a satisfying way.

I remember the richness and intricate plot development of the older Mageverse stories so this book is like dipping our toes back into Ms. Knight’s world. It’s a condensed taste of what made the others so sexy, seductive and fascinating. A taste is not enough and I hope to see more of what Ms. Knight does best – tells a story that flows, engages and titillates, with heroes and heroines who put the magic in romance.

Master of Seduction is a welcome little gem with a happy ever after as sexy, romantic and satisfying as one could wish. I might be biased because the Mageverse was one of my favorite series, so I had certain expectations. Well met, Ms. Knight.

Sam Crescent strikes again! Sinner’s Possession is the ninth chapter in the fabulous Chaos Bleeds Series. I’ve read and loved them all but this one is definitely the best book yet. It’s incredibly captivating, emotionally raw, and a page turner all the way.

Sam Crescent is one author who never lets me down. This book was complex with a gripping plot and wonderfully rich characters who tugged at my heart. Sinner and Lola were a fantastic main couple who went through a lot of turmoil. Lola had been kept prisoner and raped by the evil Master/Andrew but she still hadn’t fully moved past the horrible experience. She needed to the freedom to face her fears on her own so she left Sinner and her Chaos Bleeds family. Sinner was a really impressive biker hero. He never tried to control the situation. He let Lola go because it was what she needed. He left his club family and rode Nomad with some old friends while waiting for his woman to come back to him.

This is where the story got even more intriguing for me because I am really hooked on the series. I remember in the first book that not all of the Chaos Bleeds MC was ready to settle down in Piston County. The Nomad crew were the wilder ones who rode out on their own. Well, now Sam Crescent brings them back in this special book. Let me tell you that these guys are a special breed who really need their own books. Especially Lucius who absolutely tore me up in this story. Sam Crescent left me crying and craving for a next chapter with Lucius.

This author is a perfect master at hooking readers with a vivid world, the absolute richest characters and fast moving exciting drama. I did not put this book down for anything, and I already want the next one now.

Anything can happen in the far reaches of space.

The author spent a lot of time describing small details and showing the audience exactly what was happening. I noticed this for the first time in the very first paragraph when Rako first stepped foot onto a desolate planet whose very air was toxic to him, and that attention to detail only grew stronger from there. This was something that I appreciated in both the erotic and non-erotic scenes because of how easy it made it for me to visualize everything that was going on.

I would have liked to see the characters have more time to get to know each other before they had sex. They jumped into bed together so quickly that they weren’t able to develop much chemistry at all together before taking their relationship to the next level. This made it difficult for me to root for them to end up together because they knew so little about each other.

Rako had a foot fetish that was talked about a few different times in this tale. While it wasn’t included in the actual sex scene, it was briefly brought up again in a sexual manner later on in the plot. It wasn’t something I was expecting to find when I first started reading, but I thought this was an interesting way to explore his sexuality and flesh out his personality nicely.

Rako’s Treasure was a quick read that I’d recommend to anyone who wants to jump straight into the action.

The Nanny is a brief but very well written and meaningful novella. It’s a stand alone that features the older man/younger woman scenario that works so fabulously for Sam Crescent. Leo was a single dad who had been lusting after his daughter’s nanny for quite a while. It was about more than the smoking hot sex though. Leo already knew that Cassie was the perfect woman for him. Faith’s apartment was on the same floor as Hunter’s. Hunter had been interested in Faith for far too long. Finally deciding to bite the bullet, he pops over to ask for some sugar, only to seriously screw up the whole situation. Can they find their way together?

This is a fast-paced story that I really enjoyed. I was particularly pleased that Hunter called Faith out on her being so judgmental. Instead of asking what was happening – or even checking if the crying women (and men) were okay or needed help – she just assumed Hunter was a jerk and monster and stewed in her own resentment of him. I was glad when Hunter and Faith hashed out those assumptions and cleared the air. They were also both clearly attracted to each other, so their confrontation helped them both look at things from the others perspectives. For such a short story, I was pleased that there was a decent amount of plot and growth before they both jumped into the bedroom.

When Hunter and Faith finally did make it to the bedroom there is some super steamy sex. Dirty talk and two grown adults not afraid to ask for exactly what they want – Faith and Hunter really scorch up the pages. Some readers mightn’t like the insta-love style of progress of Faith and Hunter’s relationship, but considering the short length of the story I didn’t mind it too much. I loved the classic “happy ever after” style of ending and found the story overall well rounded and lots of sexy fun.

For a short, really fast read that has plenty of steamy sex and a good moral about not making snap judgments on your neighbors, this is a good short story that ticked a lot of boxes for me.

In Bound to the Wolf, Marena Panos is an attorney with a dark secret that follows her into the mountains and into the bed of a Phelan Sava, a lycan whose strength and shared penchant for pleasure/pain will eventually own her body and soul.

Who could say no to the opportunity to read a book by Eve Langlais? Not me. I’ll admit up front that she’s one of my favorite authors in the paranormal genre. I always enjoy her stories and the one contained in Hunger (called The Alpha’s Mate), was no exception.

What did I love about this one? It had Ms. Langlais trademark writing style stamped on it. An opening that scene that pulls you in. A heroine that you find yourself cheering on from the first sentence. And let’s not forget humor and a sexy hero.

The story starts with an attempted murder and an heroic rescue by a sexy wolf named Fabian and after that it’s one sexy ride as he realizes this is his true mate and that some bad guys want her dead.

I won’t give away the outcome but let’s just say I think you’ll like it.

The next book in this anthology was Dangerous Passions by a new to me author, Kate Douglas. Once again who doesn’t love a sexy werewolf who happens to be on the prowl? And of course, there’s a resort called Feral Passions where wolves in the pack can find their mates. You’d think it would be smooth sailing but Ms. Douglas provided an air of suspense and danger in this sexy tale. If you like a plot dripping with sexual tension while feeling the mystery then this one’s for you.

The final book is Bound to the Wolf by A.C Arthur who was also a new to me author. I immediately loved her heroine (Marena), because who doesn’t enjoy a lead character with a secret? The hero is a super sexy, a lycan who loves pleasure and pain and is determined to possess Marena, secret and all.

These were three fun and sexy reads, and if wolf shifters are your thing then I highly recommend Hunger for your summer reading pleasure.

Oh, wow! Not only was this short story different, but it’s really cool! I know this is supposed to be an erotic story and it is, with all the usual kinky fun stuff, but there’s something about Beware the Fury that made it a pure pleasure to read. I think it was the author’s storytelling voice. I liked her style.

The tale opens up with a crime scene, so that was gripping right there. Then there is a moment when the hero has to break it to his brother that he has to cancel their ‘brother time’ because he has to leave town immediately, so there’s a wonderful family element. It showed me that whatever case Bastian was working on was messing up his life and the one fun thing he had to look forward to – spending time with family. I felt connected to the hero’s pain, and, his frustration.

Then I got to meet Cissy. She is not at all what I expected. In fact, I enjoyed all the aspects about the heroine. I know she’s supposed to be a dominatrix but the tale didn’t really focus on the lifestyle. The clothing is there, and some hints and references show up but this story was more focused on the sex and shenanigans between Cissy and Bastian. I was very satisfied on how everything was handled.

Cissy is not a normal heroine. She has a few issues but those issues sure come in handy when faced with the villain in the final showdown. In fact, that conflict resolution was intense, amazing, face paced and well written. But what happens at the very end of the confrontation totally threw me. No way did I expect to happen what ended up happening. I totally understood Cissy’s point of view and I credit Ms. Austin’s writing skills with making me sniffle along with the heroine. I was thoroughly vested in her pain and wanting her to experience true happiness.

The villain in the piece is truly shocking. Because this is a paranormal romance, I had a lot of ideas of whom or what it could be. None of them came close to the truth. Whoa!

Beware the Fury is a surprisingly powerful gem for a short story. Both Bastian and Cissy’s characters were developed enough to engage my emotions, feelings and interest. I had so much fun reading about all the paranormal beings being treated like everyday citizens when they most certainly are not. I enjoyed the dialogue, descriptions and the overall reading experience. Could there have been more development? Sure, probably – but I don’t care. I liked what I read, I had a great time, I’m happy skippy about the HEA and that’s enough for me.

Are you in the mood for something different? Do you enjoy books about authors in a pickle? This tale covers this subject plus more. I have followed a bunch of authors over the years and many of them have ‘guest posts’ by their characters and interviews. They speak of them as though they were real. This novella explores one such author and her obsession with her creation. It’s so thorough that it seems the author in the novel can’t tell the difference between reality and fiction. In fact, I’d swear she was lost to the fiction.

For erotic romance readers this story is chock full of moments of exploration, seduction and fulfillment. Whether it’s real or not is the question. One thing is for sure, Ms. Morgan was quite inventive and definitely thorough with any scene she created.

I found the format to be a bit daunting. I’m not much into scenes full of fantasy because I’ve always been of the opinion that it’s filler. However, since this story is based on an author’s writing experience and her inadvertent isolation within her own mind, it makes sense.

Things got a ton more interesting when Evan, the real flesh and blood hero showed up. At first there was a blending but eventually Tory stepped out of her head. It was then that she found reality a LOT more interesting, sensually fulfilling and surprising. She also found it a bit harder to win over the hero because he was his own man, he had feelings and he knew what he wanted – a woman who saw him for the man he is.

How the author had the two finally meet, reconcile and fulfill the happy-ever-after that I had been waiting for was ingenious, rather hilarious and totally satisfactory.

Cardboard Hero is unique, interesting and a quick read. The book that Tory was writing seems to be a real book because after the initial story, there is the start of the book the heroine wrote in Cardboard Hero, which is kind of weird because I know what Tory, the character author, was going through when she wrote it, but I know it’s really Ms. Morgen who wrote it. That sounds confusing doesn’t it? Yet, that is the epitome of what I mean about this story being unique. It’s up to each individual reader to decide if this format rings their bell. It had its moments that I really liked and I enjoyed the humor so I’d say Cardboard Hero is a successful read.

Should she walk away and lose Luke forever? Or have the threesome and risk getting emotionally hurt? Exactly how far is she willing to go for a book?

One Sex Scene Too Far by Larissa Vine was a sweet, short, erotic romance.

The author hooked me from page one with Robin, a curvy heroine addicted to romance novels and prone to daydreaming. I felt identified with her and eagerly stepped into her shoes.

I enjoyed the hero too. Luke was, of course, very good looking, but sensitive and a famous author to boot. To make matters even better, he was attempting to write a romance novel, Swoon.

Although the excuse for them to get together was a bit farfetched, it worked. Eagerly, I read on to see how Robin would help Luke in role-playing those sex scenes. The author didn’t disappoint and they were well written and hot.
Sadly, things took a turn for the worse a little more than half-way through the book. It felt as if the author had lost the desire to delve deeper and things turned rushed. The connection between the characters was there but it was purely physical. Robin kept telling herself not to fall for Luke, but honestly, I couldn’t see when she had. All I saw between them was scorching sex and a mutual admiration.

Furthermore, the big climax, that moment when Luke tells Robin he wants to do a threesome, did not translate well to me as a reader. Luke tells her: “There’s nothing that you can help me with.”, and from that line, Robin understands the exact opposite. I didn’t and was really confused by the whole thing.

Regardless of this, I believe her reaction was way over the top. She hardly let Luke explain and went to find solace in the arms of someone she knew little about. On the other hand, I feel like Luke acted out of character when it was revealed why he walked away from pursuing Robin.

Nonetheless, I did find the ending to the story sweet, and the way of apology incredibly romantic.  If you’re looking for something sweet, entertaining and easy to read, I’d recommend One Sex Scene Too Far.
