I’m a pretty simple guy. When I’m not writing a science fiction novel, I’m watching a good movie or reading a book. Alone. I like my reclusive life. That is, until my only friend asks for a favor—pretend to be his baby sister’s boyfriend on a couples’ getaway. Her ex is going to be there and she needs me as a buffer.

In present’s aroused and laboring occupational 20mg tadalafil sale mouthsofthesouth.com life more and more people are trusting on occupational therapist works. Normally it happens with all the teenagers that they utilize all their energy in their initial day of a music festival and rest of the cialis generic purchase weekend they spend out in a burnt out husk. cialis buy on line Yohimbe extract comes from the bark of a West African tree. It buy cheap cialis also offers effective treatment for hypertension. I should have said no, but Naomi is bubbly, energetic, and beautiful. She also means everything to her brother. But now, our fake romance is starting to feel all too real, and I find myself stuck between the promise I made to my friend and risking my heart to the one woman who might actually get me…

This book can be summed up in one sentence and it’s a quote from the one person who drives Will equally crazy in sexy hot ways as it does in pain-in-his-behind ways. It’s just foreplay.

It wasn’t hard to get a feel for Will as a character. I can see an author preferring solitude over loud crowds and fake socializing. At the same time, every situation is a potential plot-bunny or future scene. I couldn’t help but feel for Will’s predicament but at the same time, I thought he handled himself pretty gracefully and with self control. Right up until Naomi put on that polka dot bikini.

Naomi was too cute for words. I liked the background that the author gave on who she was and how she was influenced by her family and culture. The author does a lovely job of playing out Naomi’s feelings in regards to her ex and her present feelings for Will. I was able to see Naomi’s growth. Will changed for the better, too and I liked that the author shows him as someone who’s willing to step out when love was on the line.

Something I thought would eventually be better explained, especially after Naomi sees the pattern in her ex with his current girlfriend and how he was with her, was why his relationship with the new girlfriend worked where he and Naomi did not. What was so different about Krista that he just couldn’t reconcile his love loss with Naomi? Ultimately, it doesn’t feel like a dropped thread in the story or make Naomi and Will’s romance any less fun because Jordan and Krista aren’t the focus of the story, but Naomi’s ability to be fully over Jordan is important and I think the author fleshed that out very well.

Naomi’s sister, Courtney, is the focus of the next book and if the writing and story telling are as clever and entertaining as this one, I’ll definitely be adding it to me TBR pile very near the top.

This was the perfect weekend away book about a fun-fake-couples weekend away. Well worth the read.

Once again, Sam Crescent delivered another smoking hot romance in the Chaos Bleeds series. My emotions were all over the place as I read Butler’s Woman. Wow ! I laughed and cried and cheered Butler and Mandy along as they each struggled to overcome their personal demons. I felt genuine happiness when they realized that it was real love and family that was needed to resist temptation. The plot was engaging and well written with vivid characters and gritty struggles that the author laid raw. As usual, I loved the scorching sex scenes that only Sam Crescent can write so well.

I really enjoyed reading Butler’s Woman. I was easily pulled into the fast paced story and was instantly immersed in the palpable emotions. I loved Butler and Mandy and felt they were a perfect match. Of course, I also loved getting to catch up with the rest of the Chaos Bleeds crew, particularly Devil and Lexie.

Thanks to Sam Crescent’s consistently solid writing and fascinating characters this series remains as addictive as it was in the beginning.

Princess Aneen has been the love of my life since childhood. It took a half vampire and the kidnapped princess to bring us to the brink of war. Through the dangerous fairy lands and over vampire-infested mountains, we haven’t even come to the battle yet. Queen Aralynn is intent on ruling this magical land with fear and pain. With a little bit luck and help from other outcasts, you just might get to keep both your Princess and the reformed bad-guy half-vampire.

Told from Stefen’s POV, Calling All Heroes is the final chapter in the Otherworld series. It completes the journey of Stefen, Alexander and Princess Aneen in their fight against an evil they didn’t suspect in the first book and determination to stay with each other. Aneen comes into her powers, the Queen shows her true colors and there are some surprising and entertaining new characters introduced.

I liked that the author began this book by explaining how the Queen came to power. It made her a slightly more sympathetic character for a few pages but then I remembered that she made a choice and choices have consequences.

I thought it was a clever plan that the Queen had to get her daughter back and in a way I didn’t suspect.

While book 1 was more about Alexander and Stefen forming a bond this one is all about the menage. The sex gets a little rough in a couple of places but the characters don’t seem to mind. Alexander is all about the blood sharing with some very interesting results.

This second book is shorter than the first and felt rushed to get to the exciting conclusion. I don’t know that there were any specific threads left unexplained but there were a few “that’s very convenient” moments that could have been better fleshed out. Still, overall, it was a entertaining story that has a satisfying ending and worth the read.

Readers who enjoy a healthy dose of fantasy and mayhem should give this little series a try. They do need to be read in order.

Daniel Solano has to take a wife to make sure a Mafia war doesn’t start. He must marry a Valenti daughter, but the oldest doesn’t appeal to him, even if he will do what needs to be done to keep the peace. But then he meets the youngest daughter, Natalie Valenti.

Natalie has always done whatever she could to stay out of the Mafia life, including avoiding her family most of the time. Still, she’s home for Thanksgiving—and meets Daniel.

Daniel makes it clear he will marry a Valenti—and it will be Natalie. Seeing no other choice, her father orders her to marry Daniel. She tries to fight it, to no avail. She becomes Daniel’s wife, and in doing so, is forced into the Mafia life she tried so hard to escape.

Daniel vows to take care of Natalie, so when someone places a hit on her, everything comes to a head. Daniel won’t allow anything to happen to his wife, and whoever tries will answer to him. But will Natalie ever accept this life? Can Daniel ever give her what she craves … love?

Natalie has tried to leave the lifestyle but the lifestyle keeps dragging her back in. Kicking and screaming in this case.

The whole Mafia world has fascinated me all the way back to The Gangs of New York. Powerful families taking on other powerful families. I could see why Natalie tried to leave it all behind. It was deadly on the best days, full undisguised hatred and deceit on others. Marriage was a tool to unite families while true love matches were only found in fairy tales. That’s what she believed until she met Daniel.

I really enjoyed the romance part of the book. Daniel didn’t expect to meet someone like Natalie when he accepts his duty to marry into the Valenti family. I liked that the author doesn’t try to make him into some who suddenly is anti-mafia just because he marries someone he could actually like. The mafia world is brutal and often calls on brutal acts.

The blurb mentions the hit someone has placed on Natalie’s head. When I came to that part of the story I was anxious to see who it would be. Another powerful family, a scorned ex-girlfriend, a deceitful family member, a jealous co-worker? There were so many ways to take the story. The author, in my opinion, took the easy and obvious way out. I won’t say “who done it” but I could have argued for a different, less obvious path. It wasn’t a deal breaker because it was a possibility and the “outing” scene was pretty intense.

I couldn’t stop reading it. I really liked the chemistry between Daniel and Natalie. It’s very sweet and still very hot. He’s a clever and determined teacher and she’s a really good student!

This is a short story with plenty to enjoy. I’d love to revisit these families to see if Daniel’s brothers also find love. I read this one in a single sitting and would recommend it to others who enjoy the world of mafia families.

Lori Kinsley is tired of trying to save her father. He gets into one mess after another, and it’s only because she promised her dying mother that she’d keep an eye on him that Lori helps him. He’s now stolen from one of the most dangerous men in the city, Dawg Hampshire, and it’s up to Lori to pay the price.

What does Dawg want? Simple, he wants her.

Dawg has been planning this from the first moment he saw Lori. When she agrees to belong to him, he doesn’t intend to scare her off. He’s in this for forever. He’s seen the darkness in her eyes and intends to find out what put it there. When he learns the truth and Lori’s biggest secret, Dawg knows he will do everything in his power to protect her so she never has to witness that kind of brutality again.

But can Lori allow herself to fall in love with a man who kills? Does she even want to? And when Dawg’s “business” puts her life is in danger, will Lori pick the safety of Dawg’s arms, or leave him?

Dawg was not a nice man, nor was he good. He’d been tempted by Lori from the moment he first met her, even though her father worked for him. Dawg had no qualms in using Lori’s father to gain access to her. But what happens when Dawg realizes that bullying and forcing Lori won’t give him what he wants, when Dawg finally realizes what he wants from Lori she has to offer freely?

I found this to be an interesting and complicated story. While at a casual glance Dawg might seem like a nasty guy, a criminal, he is a whole lot more complex and layered than that. Yes, he’s a bad guy and yes, he has some Neanderthal – almost barbaric – rules and regulations that he lives by and insists Lori obeys too. But nothing he does is out of spite, hate, or even anger or bitterness. Dawg is easily one of the more complex characters I’ve read about in ages. Lori – by comparison – is a lot simpler and easy to understand, but taking that at face value also doesn’t do her justice. I found both these characters to be complicated, multi-layered and far deeper than I ever expected.

In some respects I found this book difficult to read. Dawg is completely at home with violence – he genuinely thought nothing of having his men beat up Lori’s dad, and even was prepared to shoot him dead should it prove necessary in strong-arming Lori to sign a contract and be Dawg’s. The casualness of the brutality was quite off-putting for me, but the clever writing of the author helped me understand this scene was being used to show just how complicated and intricate Dawg’s plans were and how he would stop at nothing in claiming Lori.

I could easily understand that this story won’t be to everyone’s tastes. Readers who prefer softer romances – where the relationship and romance is key – might not find this harder storyline appeals to them. But personally I found while the edge wasn’t something I’d necessarily seek out in future stories that I read, the characters were interesting and complex enough I could gloss over some of the harder aspects of the story – such as the violence and the strong-arm techniques Dawg used so easily and casually.

Despite the violence, there is real – and believable – love that grows between Dawg and Lori, and this I think was my favourite part of the story. That regardless of logic and sanity, these two very different people could not only fall in love, but create a stable and solid relationship that flourishes. By the end of the story I was actually sold on them both and pleased they’d got their happy ending. The sex between them was hot and explicit, but not abusive or harsh. There were a number of bumps along their way – but Lori and Dawg really do end up in a good place and I found that satisfying as a reader.

A sometimes harsh and difficult story this nevertheless was a great read and one I enjoyed.

With love on the line, will AJ decide to forgive him when he confesses to being part of the set-up?

After a nasty break up all AJ wants to do is wallow and allow her broken heart to mend. When her two best friends insist on a night out though, AJ finally capitulates and joins them, only to panic at the thought of even talking to some of the hunky men. Needing a massive boost in her confidence, AJ decides to give Flirt Chat – and Mathias – a go. Surely talking to a guy over the phone can’t get complicated?

I found this to be an interesting and fun short story. I found the premise interesting – a kind of “try before you buy” chat-style dating set-up. In many ways it seemed like a good idea – especially how the two people can communicate and sound each other out before actually meeting up, but I wasn’t overly convinced at the way which AJ was so readily won over. Considering the night before she’d all but bolted and been ill over simply talking face-to-face with a handsome man I found it a little unrealistic that talking to a man (with a deep, sexy voice) over the phone would be any less panic-inducing. After dis-connecting my brain however, I just relaxed back and enjoyed the ride, finding the story far more enjoyable after this.

I was a little disappointed that the conflict aspect of the story felt over-done to my tastes. While understandable it was a little too close to clichéd for me to enjoy it. When AJ, her friends and Mathias all talked through the situation though I was glad it got resolved fairly quickly. I did love, however, watching the slow, gradual progression of Mathias and AJ’s relationship blossom. Their talks and extensive “getting to know you” period helped me really feel and believe in the solidness of their relationship and the strength of their foundation. Readers looking for a hot and heavy, intensely erotic story might be disappointed that while there’s a bit of naughty phone sex, the only actual consummation between AJ and Mathias is right at the end of the story.

Light and interesting, this is a good short story with only a few hiccups for me, personally. I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and characters and will be keeping an eye out for potential future stories revolving around AJ’s two best friends.

Diana and Daniel make such a great couple! While this book was super short, and we don’t get to see much of the characters’ personalities, there is still a respect and attraction between the two that is addictive.

After years of non-contact, she’s uncertain what, if anything, to say. After such a long time, can Stephanie and Kyle finally find their way together?

I found this to be a funny and remarkably sweet story. Full of humorous wedding shenanigans this lighthearted start is sure to appeal to many readers – Stephanie’s walk down the aisle is equal parts cringe-worthy embarrassment and hilarious. While a little clichéd – a part of me feels the author has taken a “best of” from everyone’s horror wedding stories – I feel it helps set the story up in a funny and amusing manner. I was particularly grateful for this happy, light-hearted beginning as the remainder of the story was a bit of a roller-coaster emotionally.

I was a little disappointed that Kyle and Stephanie’s relationship progressed with a few jumps forward in time. This made it harder for me to really feel connected to the strength and solidness of their romance. Instead of seeing their connection and watching them fall deeper in love together through shared experiences, these jumps made the story-line feel a bit choppy to me and their progress rushed. I knew they adored each other and had no question about their feelings, but a part of my love for reading romance is seeing and experiencing this, not just hurrying through the story itself. The ending as well felt particularly rushed to me – an awful lot happening in the last half dozen pages. It felt just a little too much like the author had a set plan of what they wanted done and hurried through it all. I feel the story would have been far stronger had a scene or two been removed and the scenes remaining been fleshed out more and given a bit more detail and attention.

With interesting characters and a lot of humour in the beginning, this is a good, solid story that I overall enjoyed. A few bumps along the way still left this being an enjoyable read.

Sheltered and cosseted, Sonnet Mendoza abided by her papi’s wishes her whole life: no boys, studies first and always. Now an ER nurse in a busy Chicago hospital, medical school is so close Sonnet can taste it. Just like her father always wanted. Just like she can taste all the things she wants—like Griffith Parker, the man of her dreams and her new housemate.

Working “graves” in a large hospital as a security guard while attending the police academy during the day doesn’t leave ex-Marine Griffith Parker any personal time, but after meeting the beautiful Sonnet Mendoza, business as usual is anything but. Sassy, smart…and interested in him, too? Except, she’s made an art of keeping her distance, and she’s been clear that her plans don’t include him. But the heart wants what the heart wants. His wants Sonnet. He’ll put it on the line to win her.

Great characters are the glue to this story. I absolutely adored both Sonnet and Griffith, and the author included a diverse and interesting group of secondary characters as well. I’m a huge fan of character driven stories, and this one definitely fits that criteria.

Sonnet is living on her own for the first time. Her much loved father passed away the year before and she’s learning how to really stand on her own two feet. She’s beautiful. smart, intelligent and driven, but finding that maintaining a house on a nurse’s income isn’t that easy. She decides she needs a roommate.

Griffith is equally beautiful, smart, intelligent and driven. To be honest, my only complaint about the main characters was that they really didn’t have any flaws. From the moment Sonnet and Griffith met each other, Griffith was there for her whenever she needed him. He clearly wanted more than friendship, right from the start, but was incredibly patient with Sonnet’s reticence and put up with a lot of “no” from her.

This brings me to the sex portion of this story. It was honestly just about perfect. Unlike so many erotic romances, these two didn’t jump into bed immediately. There was a lot of fantasizing (and self-pleasuring) and then plenty of foreplay before they finally came together. I appreciated that the author let these two develop a deep relationship before they hit the sack. Once they did, they certainly scorched the sheets, but it was all appropriate to the plot.

To be honest, there really wasn’t a lot of conflict in the story, or much doubt these two both belonged together and would end up together. There’s a little at the end regarding a job change, but in my mind there was no way Griffith was going to give up that easily.

So, in a nutshell, this was simply a well written, sexy novel populated with three dimensional characters I cared a lot about. Did I wish I’d felt a little more anxiety about them? Sure. But in the end it didn’t matter that much. I just had a lot of fun reading about them, I completely enjoyed the cast of character (main and secondary) and I never once even thought of putting the book down. This author is very talented and I can’t wait to see what else she comes up with.
