Thor Larkin did the one thing he swore he’d never do during a mission…he dropped his guard and gave into his desire for a woman. A night of passion with Marisol Rios ended when Carlos Mendez and his men broke into their room and took them captive. Imprisoned on Mendez’s barge, Thor protects Marisol by drawing Mendez’s rage away from her and toward himself. The beatings he’s taken have left him injured and burning with fever. Marisol does everything she can to take care of Thor. She’s begged him to stop protecting her and give himself time to heal. A plea he’s refused. All she can do now is keep him from pushing Mendez too far. The last thing she wants is to be have him sacrifice his life to save hers. Thor swore he’d never love a woman, but Marisol’s bravery and faith in him has cracked the walls around his heart. The night she confessed her love for him, they crumbled completely. With time running out, he’s forced to face his feelings for her. Is it lust? Love? Or, both?

Action, a lot of romance and a hint of fantasy!

I fell in love with Marisol and Thor. The book starts with them being kidnapped, becoming captives and being tortured. The author made sure that these scenes of torture were subtle and not too hard for the eyes.

Her Viking Dom can be read as a stand-alone. However, there were instances that I felt like I was missing something or didn’t understand it as well as I could have if I had started reading from the beginning of the series. I could have understood the relationship and the characters a bit more if I had done so.

The beginning was slow but with their capture, it built and built and brought me back to the book time and time again.

The plot was about an enemy kidnapping the couple. They do escape and that’s what gave me insight as to how they would act or be with each other outside of captivity. It was a party. Fun and really hot! Marisol has a mind of her own when it comes to some things. She is independent but attracted to Thor like a moth to a flame.

When they get home and the story heads for the climax, I expected a lot of things. But, it took a 180 degree turn and went from a simple romance to shifters and magic. The author did a great job with introducing these new elements to the already packed novel.

Her Viking Dom is perfect for readers who love their romance with a bit of something else added in.

What she finds is more trouble than she can handle—and a man who’s ready to kill for her. It doesn’t take long for Liam to sweep her off her feet. He makes her feel like a queen, and leaves her body desperate for every carnal pleasure.

Life in the forest isn’t without problems. A rival pack is set on taking everything Liam has built over the years, including his new mate. The alpha can’t keep his dark secrets from his woman forever. What will happen when Rebecca realizes she’s been sleeping with a wolf?

Liam & Rebecca… each one is half of a whole. Both the characters are wonderfully written and go well together at the end.

Rebecca has anxiety, which makes it difficult for her to date and have friends. Liam on the other hand is a shifter – a wolf shifter, with a whole pack to take care of. Liam tries to bring her out of her shell and be considerate of her anxiety but at different points in the story I kept expecting more from her and it seems to come up to that expectation only until the climax.

The book has a “love at first” or “lust at first” sight theme since Rebecca is Liam’s destined mate. They are meant to be together. But will they?

It is a short story but not so short that it is over even before it begins. It is the third book in a series and could be read as a stand-alone as well as a series since each couple has their own story. A word to the wise for some readers, it has scenes of torture and humiliation that may not be to their liking.

This is a great love at first sight short story for reading under the stars.

I love the character of Joss and how independent and strong she was. Not just mentally but physically since she had to fight alien fighters twice her size.

When Kanaan claimed her, I thought for sure she would make a scene and deny or say no to that. But that was not what happened. Joss is a lot more self aware than some of the strong independent female characters I read about. She knows her strong and weak qualities; I think she had to learn it to survive in a world dominated by men.

Kanaan is a warrior, through and through. What I did not expect with him was him knowing that Joss was special to him, and in typical male fashion not saying how much he liked her.

The author has built a very interesting and different world. There were words that I only started to understand after I finished reading one third of the book. Though, I was expecting more in terms of explaining what the words meant it in no way hindered my ability to finish reading it.

This is a part of a series and it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. There were a lot of different species and a couple pieces of information that took me so long to understand, it became disconcerting.

Abaddon Rising is set in a futuristic world that ensnared me until the end.

She’s leading the straight life now. He’s the reminder she doesn’t need. Their kiss will ruin everything she’s worked for…or will it?

Former jewel thief, Isla Turner, now works as a museum security consultant. She’s living the straight life, no longer interested in a life of crime. When Jared, her former partner—and ex-lover—returns to ask for her help in one last score, she tells him she isn’t interested. Isla is determined not to cross the lines between love and her old profession. She enjoys the best of both worlds, her passion with Jared igniting. But it’s not long before she finds out why he’s really at the museum, and worse, the theft he’s planning reveals that a big deal is about to go down—the theft of the most prized Alexandria’s Eye Diamond itself. Worse, her boss is in the know, and indifferent. Doing the right thing might mean crossing the line not only to forbidden love, but to the past she’s tried to leave behind. If she gets this wrong, she’ll lose everything…

Isla worked in the Miami Museum of Antiquities in their security division, a boring but stable and, most importantly, legitimate job. She’d worked hard to leave her past long behind. Until the Alexandria’s Eye diamond was booked for a short showing, and then her past – and certain people she’d been avoiding – collided with her present. Jared Spencer was one of the biggest things of Isla’s past – her past partner in her career as a jewel thief and also her past lover. When Jared shows back up in town again – is his eye on the diamond, or her, or both?

I’m a total sucker for a jewel heist story, and add in that both the heroine and hero are thieves (whether past, present or a mixture of both is open to debate) and there’s a sizzling chemistry between them and I’m guaranteed to not be able to walk by this story. I was pretty excited, therefore, when I discovered this wasn’t a simple “come back to me and start stealing once again” sort of plotline. Without giving too much away Jared – surprisingly – has the moral high ground here to my mind. I found this a refreshing change. I’d assumed that Jared would be the wicked “bad” guy and seduce or lure Isla back into her life of crime. And in some ways he did, but it was very clearly all for the right reasons.

It also came as a bit of a surprise to me when Isla didn’t jump at the chance to do something dodgy for all the right reasons. I was a little confused by Isla’s character in the first third of the book or so as it seemed that while she missed her life of crime – and Jared in particular – she also wasn’t that eager to do a wrong thing for some very morally right reasons. It struck me as strange and I couldn’t really understand Isla’s thought process behind it at all. Thankfully she changed her mind fairly promptly, but it made her character feel a lot less easy to relate to and understand – at least to my perspective.

The chemistry between Isla and Jared was smoking though. I thought their desire for each other was still very strong and they were certainly combustible once they got together. I found it a little unrealistic that Jared had waited eight years to chase after Isla after she left him – although the author did explain what had been occurring in the meantime – but I certainly found their sexual chemistry and shenanigans was spicy, explicit and enough to singe the page.

Readers looking for a heist/thief style of story with good characters and strong chemistry and an erotic edge should find this book very satisfying.

The book kept me on my toes. With every page, I fell for the characters. Both Maximilian and Tess are well developed and that bound me to the book every time I had to put it down. There was a lot going on with the plot and the story but because the book in novel length, it was ideal.

Play a Game With Me had a minor subplot of a romantic relationship that was very well incorporated without pushing attention away from the main plot. All the interesting secondary characters gave me a myriad of emotions, from anger to love to disbelief. I never thought about stopping until I finished the book.

The climax was action filled and if there was any anger around, the climax fixed that.

Got to tell you, I am going to have a book hangover over this one.

The major one being – will she stay with him in Alaska?

When Cassie sees Bastian, there is an instant attraction and an urge to be with him. The plot was simple and not overly complicated. The climax for me was the highlight.

The plot evolves quickly since it is a short book, but even in that short amount of time there was a solid story. It was not all sex.

Can love flourish when you’re a pawn in a dangerous game?

If you are a romance lover then Doris O’Connor is a must read author.  This is not my first time reading one of her books and will not be the last.

Gabe’s Revenge is a BDSM Romance that has a Daddy/Daughter play (not real daddy/daughter) going on that may not be for everyone’s taste.

Gabe is a dominant who is bent on getting his revenge from Lissa’s father, however, when her father sells her to Gabe, everything changes. Gabe has a history with Lissa’s father and mother and that has been incorporated into the story really well. Gabe is ruthless but kind and protective to the people who work for him; and those people mean a lot to him.

Lissa is an artist who had a good childhood until her mother died. When her father sells her, she is forced to come face to face with the worst side of humanity.

I do have to mention that the book has some scenes of violence and torture; after all Gabe is not an angel. However, with Gabe by her side, it proves to be an enjoyable read. Their passion and chemistry is off the charts.

It is the second book in the series which I did not know until I completely finished the book. That means it can be read as a stand-alone. The story is well developed and it was difficult and almost impossible to stop reading until I was completely done. It’s a recommended read.

This full length story starts out with Brenna being not that confident about herself and her beauty. I loved seeing the changes that come to her as well as Gabe. Though he is an absolute master in sex, this was a learning curve for him since relationships have never been something he is good at.

Brenna wants a relationship, marriage, kids and the whole nine yards while Gabe just wants her in his bed.

Brenna is a responsible planner, the one friend in the group who would only drink a glass of wine or no alcohol while the other friends do all the drinking so that she could drive them home. Letting go of control and doing spur of the moment actions is not one of her things.

Gabe, a playboy,  is the opposite. They gel well together. The author did a great job with the characters and the story. It kept me coming back every time. I found the story had a constant up and down vibe. I got that because a couple of times it felt like a lull, almost like the climax was going to come, only when I looked at the number of pages I had yet to read did I realize I was nowhere near the end of the book. Maybe it is me. The story was a little stretched out but it was not enough to stop me from reading.

Finding a Keeper has a great storyline and characters. I love both of these characters, and feel the cover does not do the story justice. Many times book covers are what brings a reader to check them out, even though the story itself should be what grabs them.

Finding a Keeper has off the chart chemistry with characters that would make you believe in taking a chance in love.

I picked up this book for two reasons: first, because I wanted a short read and second, because I liked the cover art. I’m glad I picked it up. The author packs a lot in a few pages and the story flows well.

I’m not wild about first person POV, but this one held my attention well. I enjoyed reading about Tom and Caroline. While I haven’t read the other books in their series, I wasn’t lost and am looking forward to the next story.

This story has a lot, and I mean a lot, of sex in it. That’s not a bad thing. I knew these characters cared about each other, so I liked reading the sexy parts.

The one thing that seemed a little off for me was the emotion in the story. Don’t get me wrong. I like short stories and hot books. But this is a snapshot in their relationship. The other books most likely help add to the emotion in this one, so maybe try reading those first.

Still, it’s a good beach read and I’m glad I chose it. Worth the read! Check it out.
