Ridley: I might live in a mansion in South Florida, but my daddy was a biker, and I was definitely Daddy’s girl. When I found out my mom and stepdad had something horrible planned for me, I ran. Straight to the Dixie Reapers, the only place I’d ever thought of as home, but it wasn’t my daddy’s arms I ended up in. Venom is dark and seductive, the type of man who doesn’t take shit from anyone. Despite his hard exterior, being with him makes me feel safe, and his kisses make me ache for so much more. I’ve never been with a man before, but even as inexperienced as I am, I know that being with Venom will ruin me for anyone else, and I don’t care. I want him — all of him — and damn the consequences.

Venom: I hadn’t risen to the rank of VP of the Dixie Reapers MC without getting my hands dirty. I’d been deep in blood and dirty money for over twenty years, could have any pussy I wanted whenever I wanted and how the fuck ever I wanted. But when an angel I hadn’t seen in fourteen years came back into my life, all it took was one look in her eyes, and I was a goner. As a kid, Ridley had been this little blonde cherub who lit up the place. Now she’s older, has curves in all the right fucking places, and damn if I don’t want her. The fact she was the nineteen-year-old daughter of a patched member meant I needed to keep my hands to myself, and I might have, if she hadn’t begged me so sweetly. Now she’s mine, and I’ll do anything to keep her safe, even if it means starting a war.

“Does that mean he has to get tattooed with Property of Ridley?”

One thing I do love about this book is that, although it is a short story, it has multiple plots. The main plot is about Ridley running from her mom and step-dad to save herself. The minor plot or story is the romance between Ridley and Venom.

The beginning of the book was a bit different but made sense. It started with the past when Ridley was a child, then skipping a couple of years to her present. She has been visiting her dad and the club since she was a child. The present shows us that she is no longer a child but a full-fledged strong woman not willing to back down. She’ll get what she wants no matter what. I loved her humor and her pluck.

Venom and Ridley had known each other as long as she has been coming to the club to meet her dad. I loved seeing their relationship evolve from getting attracted to each other and trying to be a better person for each other because of love.

This was a short and action-packed romance with bits of torture scenes that might be a little too much for some readers. Overall this book satisfied my urge to read a romance and action story with humor scattered around.

Neo and Jolie had been casual fuck-buddies for months now. Only Neo has a few secrets – like that he’s a bear shifter and that he knows Jolie is his mate. Jolie has a few secrets of her own from her past – secrets that have her jumping at every shadow and looking constantly over her shoulder. Neo is desperate to help her, to claim her as his mate, but he knows if he moves to fast he might scare her away completely. Can Neo and Jolie come together and take what they both want?

I enjoyed this sexy and fast-paced story. I found both Neo and Jolie’s characters delightfully three-dimensional, with plenty of secrets, worries and real-life problems. I was particularly pleased that Jolie wasn’t just commitment-shy or nervous after having been burned by a bad relationship. She had some genuinely scary fears and had come through a brutal past which made her avoidance of anything resembling a relationship with Neo completely understandable. While not overly graphic or written in a titillating manner, there is some description on the abuse that Jolie suffered through in her past and it might be upsetting for some readers. I completely understand why the author added it – allowing Neo to understand and learn the demons that Jolie was escaping from when she wasn’t quite ready to actually explain things to him. I found it heart-breaking to read though and am very glad that after this Jolie became more open to having Neo in her life and accepting the bond that flourished between them.

Personally, I would have preferred the story to be a little longer – which would have allowed the numerous plot-points to be explored in a deeper, possibly more satisfying manner. While I admit I found the conclusion to Jolie’s abuser a little too quick, for such a short-length story I wouldn’t have wanted any of the other elements of the story to be cut even shorter to give more time to that climax of the plot. Ending on a deliciously happy note I found this story to be both heart-breaking and wonderfully warm too. Despite the quickness to some sections I felt the romance and connection between Neo and Jolie was given a good pace and enough time to satisfy the romance reader in me.

Quick but with interesting and complex characters and plenty of steamy sex, this was a good and emotional read.

What a story this was!!! It is a dark story, with little to no romance, so if you are looking for that… well, you’re in the wrong place. The characters are written really well, and you, as the reader, will be left wondering about the motivations of some of them. The world-building is superb, with it being completely jarring when you read about ‘normal’ life when you are engrossed with the story.

The ending is both perfect for the story, and also completely shocking. It was a twist I never saw coming, and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. Absolutely brilliant, and definitely recommended by me.

Faye
I needed the money.

My sister’s medical bills were mounting, and I needed lots of money—fast. The only thing I had was my virginity, and I knew just the place to sell it. I never expected to have the night of my life, but that’s what I did. I don’t know the name of the man who purchased me and helped me more than he can know. I only have the memories…

I’ve never been interested in virgins. I prefer a woman who knows how to take care of my dick and not ask for direction, but one look at her and I knew there was no going back.

For months after that night, I tried to find her, but I failed. So, when I discover she’s been working at my company for the past month, I know that’s going to change. She’s going to work right beside me, and I’m going to take what belongs to me. She was a virgin—and now she’s mine.

We have unfinished business, and I don’t care what it takes to get her back in my bed. I never said I was a good guy when it came to getting what I wanted, but Faye has a way that drives me crazy. I can’t walk away from her because … I fucking love her.

Faye’s world was rocked when she discovered their stepfather had brainwashed and been sexually abusing her younger sister for years. While the bastard was in jail now, it wasn’t impossible that he might get parole and Faye is determined both she and her little sister will be far, far away by then. Needing the largest possible influx of cash in one hit to achieve this goal, Faye decides to sell off her virginity to the highest bidder and doesn’t have an ounce of regret. Chase has never had a thing for virgins, but he goes along to the club with a good friend and Faye’s photo captures something inside him. Chase can’t explain why, but virgin or not, he needs this woman and is prepared to pay whatever it takes to have her.

This isn’t a gentle or “nice” sort of book. Despite the fact it’s Faye’s first time and she willingly and knowingly sells off her viriginity, there’s a darkness that I found to this story and the author’s tone of voice that left me feeling a little unsettled. There’s no graphic descriptions of their stepfather sexually abusing Faye’s underage little sister for many years – but even the brief explanation given of that was enough to make me uncomfortable. I strongly feel readers with triggers regarding incest or abuse of children might want to consider carefully before reading this. Faye herself absolutely consents – albeit with qualm and nerves – to the night she shares with Chase. There is no heavy description of abuse or nastiness, but I really couldn’t shake the sense of darkness that seemed to hang over the story. Readers looking for a grittier, harder style of story will probably love this book. Those looking for a sweeter or more gentle style of story – or one a little lighter – might not find what they’re after here.

I found Faye to be a modern, strong and interesting character. It took me a while to understand her though, as for someone so young she seemed oddly mature and calm with so many emotionally charged things going on within her life. I think this slight lack of believability made it difficult for me to really feel attached to her as much as I wanted to. I liked her, I strongly empathized with her, but she seemed a little too calm, rational and logical given the giant upheaval in her life. I did like, however, how Chase became possessive and very alpha-male about Faye. Used to always having his way – or just buying whatever he desired – I liked how he had to come to grips a number of times with the fact that Faye wasn’t someone to be swayed by his money or power. She had her own ideas and road to travel and she wasn’t going to use her need for money to support her little sister as a bargaining chip.

A slightly dark, gritty and very emotional read, I feel this won’t hit the spot for all readers. Sexy and hot, but also to my mind, dark, this is an interesting, fresh and very different read that made me think about a lot of things in this world we currently live in. A good read for people looking for something different.

David Shep is finally seeing his father’s protégé for the stunning woman she truly is—in the office and in his bed. But when her support is conspicuously absent when he needs her most, he can’t help but wonder if he can trust her with his heart.

Jean had never got along with her step-sister, Beth. As kids Beth had mercilessly led the charge of bullying and teasing against Jean and while the aggravation had become more subtle in their adulthood nothing had really changed. When Beth became splashily engaged to Jean’s boss – and long-term crush – David, Jean knew she had to move past her infatuation with the sexy, charming man. Only Beth dumps David at the last minute and a huge proposal for a very important client is about the crash and burn and Jean can’t leave David in the lurch. Will David finally see Jean the way she’s always wanted him to?

I found this to be a sexy and interesting steamy story. I really enjoyed both Jean and David’s characters – finding them realistic and relatable. I admit that I had a bit of a hard time believing that after working together fairly closely as boss and one of his editors that neither had any clue of the other’s interest. The office didn’t seem to be crammed full of other workers, and both Jean and David certainly knew each other fairly well professionally, so six years of Jean mooning over David – and a similarly long period of David plotting how to get into Jean’s panties – just made the whole “I had no idea how you felt about me” thing seem just slightly unrealistic to me, personally. I did really enjoy the manner in which David and Jean finally came together – cramming a massive amount of 24/7 working over a weekend to get a proposal done and then nearly collapsing from sheer exhaustion. That bit of the romance was delightful and I really enjoyed it.

I was pleased that Beth’s character was an interesting and complex mixture of various facets, not just a flat-out villain. While sure, a horrible and manipulative person she added a complexity and serious element of conflict to the plot that kept the whole “ex-fiancee who isn’t completely ex” aspect from feeling too clichéd to me. Had Beth’s character been more straight-forward, and less manipulative and well written, the whole subplot of her and David’s newly-broken relationship could have easily fallen flat to me – and not worked nearly so well. But I feel the author did a really good job of twisting things just enough to keep my interest and not have me feeling that David acted a bit stupidly or that Jean over-reacted too much. I was really quite impressed with how that section of the story was handled and along with the interesting main characters really helped lift this into an engaging and interesting read for me.

Sexy and with plenty of conflict and romance this is a great story and one I really enjoyed.

Two souls, two secrets, one happy ending?

I’m new to the work of Morgan Malone and this was a great introduction. The writing flowed well and once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with the characters and needed to know what would happen next.

Missy is feisty, as described in the blurb. The woman knows what she wants and what she doesn’t. I liked her forthright approach. It was refreshing to read about an older heroine (over 25 yrs old) who had her head screwed on straight. I loved Missy immediately. Then there’s Don. This man… wow. I could see him and I would love to see him on the big screen. He’s sad, but sweet, a painter and the brooding… I was sucked right in. The chemistry between Don and Missy is fun, but tender, too. Oh and the cat. I loved Lady. She’s a pistol.

The cast of characters is wonderful and even though I hadn’t read the other books in the Barefoot Bay world, I didn’t feel lost. Great reading.

If you’re looking for a warm holiday read that’s perfectly quick, but just right, then this might be the one for you.

Slater is used to being in control. Freya Markham is testing his limits. But Freya’s problems could destroy her, and Slater just can’t let that happen. He’s going to fix things, whether she likes it or not.

Freya and Slater are a bit different than what I usually read. For example, though Slater has a fully fledged successful career, but he is also a prospect. For readers who have not read an MC book before, prospects are basically assistants or interns of the MC world. That in itself is not the usual part. Freya’s father is a neurologist and she had wanted to do the same thing. These folks were successful in their own right, so seeing them as part of the MC was different.

However, their relationship smolders. It is there in the background but it is not the main theme or topic. Unlike some erotic books I have read I liked reading this a lot more because it was not constant sex. I could see the relationship build in the small things he does and doesn’t do.

The thing I disliked was that it took a lot longer than I thought to get through the first half of the book as it dragged a bit. That being said the ending was well worth the time it took.

This is a part of a series which could be read as a stand-alone. I recommend this to any reader who wants a bit of the erotic but does not want it to overpower the story.

Taking care of Skylar was a double edged sword. To Ryker she was an angel, innocent and pure and it was instinctive in him to protect her. Yet Ryker didn’t want to bring Skylar into his dark and dangerous world. While Sky tries hard to set her life on a different course, she eventually has to admit that Ryker is the only man for her. Can she convince him to stake his claim on her?

I found this to be an intresting and character-driven sexy story. I was pleased the author took some time to introduce both Ryker and Skylar’s characters as this gave me time as a reader to get invested in them. This also helped me not feel like they were rushed together into their sexual relationship and skimp on the plot. Once Skylar returns to the city – all of Ryker’s patience is at an end and their relationship progresses pretty quickly. I did like, though, how the rest of the familia didn’t fade too far into the background.

While a quick and short read, I felt the characters here really shone. Interesting and complicated Ryker and Skylar in particular didn’t feel like cookie cut-outs. For my tastes, I feel there could have been a bit more descriptiveness in the sex scenes, but overall I thought this was a well balanced story with sex, interesting characters and a good level of plot. I’d happily read more by this author.

Mitch is happy to bond with Avery and Fletcher—he has room in his heart for two mates. What he isn’t happy with is Avery’s father threatening her, and making her doubt her worth. Avery is a Queen, but she has no idea what that means. Will instinct be enough to push them together, or will Mitch and Fletcher need more drastic measures to convince Avery that she’s their destiny?

First off: Fated mates are myth. Secondly: Avery Tate is NOT an alpha. She can’t even get her wolf to behave. Third and most important: She has NOT been pining away for best friends Mitch and Fletcher to return from their walkabout. And Lastly: the Earth is flat. Yeah, all of these statements are flat out lies.

Avery Tate is a little bit stubborn. Actually, she’s a lot stubborn but her world is about to get turned upside down and being stubborn isn’t going to work much longer. The world changers go by the names of Mitch and Fletch and they have some very specific plans in mind just as soon as they get a few minutes alone with Avery. I’ll just say, it was explosive and so much fun!!

The author does a fantastic job of building the tension before the characters even meet up face to face. It’s not that they don’t know each other, they grew up in the same pack, but they haven’t seen each other in quite a few years. Time and maturity changes people. I loved how the author quickly dispels the ‘fated mates are a myth’ theory by simply having them recognize each others scents on the wind. So the natural thing to do after meeting ones mythical fated mates is of course to run. Avery didn’t make it easy on these boys.

It’s a good story. Fated mate stories have been done but this one still felt fresh. Mitch and Fletcher are the right amount of hot and sexy without being over the top. Avery’s been left to her own devices in the pack for nine years and these wolves are just what she needs after dating so many dogs. The latest being the worst.

The book is just about the triad getting together. There’s plenty of excitement outside the bedroom and a plethora of baddies conspiring to keep them apart. I stayed glued to the pages to see how it all worked out. I was excited to see that this was the first in a new series and can’t wait to return to the Boulder Pack to see if Paige meets her match (or matches) in the next book.

Shaylee was a slave and the Alien was a healer. Not the usual combo but definitely something the book a great read.  Not your usual Alpha Male Alien & human story. Add Shaylee’s babies and I wanted an HEA real bad.

Offered to the Cyborg was fast paced but the characters and the story as a whole is a definite must read if you are looking for a quick but satisfying sci-fi romance to read.
