This is the fifth book in the Vampire Territory series. I haven’t read the others but the author gave enough backstory to understand what was going on without it being an info dump weighing down this story. I picked up on the fact that what had been a seemingly happy triad was down to a struggling duo and one of those two, Zander, was carrying the weight of guilt for the loss, or betrayal, of their third.

I liked both Zander and Maribeth just fine when I first met them. I could feel that something was off or missing and that neither of them knew how to fix it. When they get the idea to seduce Graham, that’s when their relationship really got interesting. Graham is big-ole-teddy-bear vampire, honorable and precious and he’s obviously attracted to Maribeth. I have to wonder if he was already attracted to her before Drew’s betrayal and just didn’t act on it? I bet there were clues in the prior books.

The seduction, oh man! These two aren’t subtle. Graham didn’t know what hit him but he didn’t seem to mind, either. At the same time, I appreciated the fact that he didn’t accept their invitation lightly. While there is some light MM touching and interaction, there isn’t MM intercourse in this book. Graham says he isn’t interested in “back door” action but Zander seems pretty persuasive. I’m betting it happened at some point. I’ll just have to use my imagination.

The underlying story in these books is the human Rebels vs. the good vampires vs. the evil vampires. There are several skirmishes as well as bigger battle scenes. The author did a good job of making me like the band of vampires that Zander and Graham belonged to. The Rebels seem to be misguided and maybe even being led to hate the vampires even more as part of a bigger plot. There is some closure to part of the story in this book but it isn’t finished by far. The sad truth is that there’s always casualties in war. That part made me sad. Poor Rivers.

There are appearances from many of the couples that made up the prior books, I looked them up, as well as some still single vampires that sound very interesting. I’d like to read Kody’s story. He just sounds like a charming and yet smart-alecky brat. I love seeing those types get tamed.

Readers in the mood for a good vampire paranormal should check into this series. It’s a little dark because of the war going on but there’s some light moments as well, plus the love and of course the sex. That’s good, too. I’ll be watching to see if Kody does get a book as well as Rivers. I want her to be happy again.

Anessa and Ace have an interesting and really good relationship. I like them immediately and was intrigued with the idea of him setting up an opportunity for Anessa to participate in a menage encounter, as long it included him. I could respect that. I also was impressed to see that Anessa wanted to take it slow and not simply agree to whomever or go from slow to right-now even when she realizes she’s attracted to Barton. Then it got a little wonky.

There was one aspect of how Ace, Anessa and Barton end up in bed together that made my eyes squint. It was like Anessa suddenly didn’t have much choice in the ‘when’ aspect and that felt wrong. But then I started thinking about how this whole scenario is about her crossing items off her sexual bucket list and I had to wonder if this mild form of forced seduction wasn’t maybe Ace’s way of facilitating one more check box. He seemed very protective of Anessa and I didn’t see him putting her in a position where she could be hurt or targeted by an unwilling admirer. Anessa seems turned on by the eager Barton and that helped, also. Anyway, that was the thought process that prompted me to keep reading. I wanted to see if the author had a purpose behind Barton’s pursuit and how it would affect Ace and Anessa in the end. Alas, I didn’t get an answer to all my questions but I did walk away feeling that Ace and Anessa would be fine. They might even invite Barton to join them again some time.

Sated is told from Anessa’s first person perspective. I would have liked to have seem what was going on in Barton’s head but I guess that’s what made this story have more tension. The reader only “feels” what Anessa feels and knowing Barton’s thoughts, or Ace’s for that matter, might would have lessened that atmosphere.

The writing is a little more crude in some places than I like for erotic romance but this isn’t meant to be a great epic love story. It’s a moment in time where Anessa is getting some serious up close and personal attention from two lusty (more than) men. Readers looking for long term declarations of eternal love (where Barton’s concerned at least) or even a permanent menage, will be disappointed. On the other hand, this is a fantasy fulfilled quickie. Read from the perspective of a woman who enjoys variety in her kink while maintaining a strong relationship with her lover, then this is quite satisfying.

I couldn’t help but giggle in many places (bent as a boomerang!) even while Joey, Ryder and Devon started to steam up the pages. Despite the tongue-in-cheek aspect of a Kangaroo/Gorilla spliced human, I think Ms. Harlem has done an excellent job balancing out the cheeky good humour and the steamy romance. While I’m sure the plot is meant to be a bit of a lark, I actually really enjoyed it. There are intricacies and issues with multi-animal splicing that I’d never thought of before, and the author does a brilliant job of bringing those in and still keeping the heat simmering nicely.

I found the sex to be blisteringly hot, but also full of romance and a good, deep connection. There was no question in my mind the three sexy men would move forward in their lives together and share plenty of laughs, fun and adventures. While a part of me wished there’d been many more chapters, this gorgeous short story was deeply satisfying. I was also impressed that while this book is clearly part of a larger story – Joey’s spliced friends who had escaped with him – I thoroughly enjoyed this book as a stand alone. I usually can’t bear to read a middle story in a series, but this one really does stand perfectly well by itself.

A fun, lighthearted and sexy romp of a story I found this delicious and well-balanced both as a hot read and as a romantic story of three men coming together. Highly Recommended.

I’ve read some pretty imaginative versions of fairy tale rewrites in my time but the premise of this one caught my attention for it’s originality. I think it was the inclusion of a sister bear as opposed to three brother bears. How would the author develop a relationship between Goldie and Cat since Goldie would be mate to all three? I expected some F/F interaction but I wandered about how they would treat her outside of being a mate and sub as well as human. My interest was piqued and I couldn’t wait to dive in.

The story opens with some pretty serious sexual tension once Jason literally gets his hands on Goldie. That whole opening scene was both hot and entertaining partly because his bear really really wanted out to play. Like most fated-mates type stories, Goldie has very little control over her reactions when Jason is near. She appears to be a confident woman with only book knowledge of the BDSM world but accepts Jason’s challenge when he gives her “homework” and then proceeds to check her progress at his discretion. That part was a little odd but I chalked up his choice to examine her so intimately in a not so intimate setting to the fact that his bear needed the constant contact and ability to keep her on edge.

Next I met Jacob. Like his slightly older brother, he’s serious about being obeyed but I could tell right away that Jacob would be the more lenient Dom. Yes and no. He is a giving lover but he doesn’t let her get away with anything any more than his brother would. I liked Jacob, though. He represented safety for Goldie and this world she’d stepped into was on the harsh side of scary. She needed him.

“Cat was intense at the best of times.” That was an understatement. I’ve never had a dominatrix fantasy and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. Having said that, just like Goldie needed the difference in personality that Jacob provided to the group, she embraced what Cat could give her as well. It was (for me, at least) a unique twist on what could have otherwise been a fairly standard “third man joins the loving husband and wife fantasy” style of short story.

There is certainly kink in this lovely short story – but nothing that I found too outrageous. Toys, clamps, spanking and a threesome. All hot and very well written. But again, it’s the ending that really stuck in my mind. I love how the author changed it up and gave me as a reader something quite different. I’ve noticed that there are two more books and I’m quite eager to read the next one.

I found this to be a steamy hot, sensually written short story. While the focus was on the fantasy and sex, I enjoyed the snapshots of Anna, Kline and their stranger that I was shown. I really, really enjoyed the ending and found it interesting and refreshing enough I plan to move onto other stories by Ms. Dae. A different look on a tried-and-true style of story, and one I am very interested to continue reading. Recommended.

I really enjoyed this sensual story. It’s a progression from Sean Michael’s book “Blended Family” but can easily be read as a stand alone. Mr Michael has done an excellent job of laying out the backstory without massive info-dumps or making it feel like a rehash of old stuff. I was pleasantly impressed by the seamlessness of having Max, Peter, Devon and Swan’s story and relationship progress while still explaining how far they’d already come on this journey. I also really loved how all four characters had their own style and quirks. With four main characters it would be easy to have one or more appear too similar – or perhaps be somewhat overlooked in the narrative, but I found them to be all unique and interesting and take equal shares of the spotlight. The author is to be commended in my view for meshing the various threads of story perfectly to make an excellent foursome.

This is a highly erotic tale, and while there’s plenty of BDSM play and toys, I found it sweet, charming and extremely tasteful. I could also strongly appreciate how the plot and storyline basically *is* the foursome coming together. I loved reading about the small hiccups of couples moving in together, finding their new pace and settling in with each other. There of course was some outside conflict about half way through – and while I found the problem the four men faced sad, it was also a strong reminder of how some pockets of the world is today. Bittersweet. Most of all though, I loved seeing these characters I enjoy coming together, sharing their bodies and home and finding their new rhythm together.

I felt Combine is a strongly romantic story with excellent characters, a realistic plot and interactions and more than a hint of laughter. This is a wonderful story and one I happily found myself engrossed by. I can’t wait to crack it open and start reading it again for pure pleasure. A vibrant, wonderful tale.

Then add in Ward, the questionable roommate of Dylan and Hazel’s past, and you get some amazing turn of events.

Hazel is one amazing woman, even though she has had some events in her life that has left her a bit jaded. I think on a personal level I related to her; she built a hard exterior to keep others out. That helped me connect with her as well as root for her from the very beginning. I knew she could find happiness if only she came to terms with her past and I was glad to watch the development.

Dylan is just too suave for his own good. I mean, how many girls and guys can he seduce really? I can tell why people seem to love him he just has a way about him. He makes you want to accept, respect, and submit to him. Yet, he does not take it for granted which really is a gift in itself.

Ward on the other hand is a guy I could never really figure out if I liked or hated, which is exactly how Hazel felt most times, and exactly what the author was going for. Even in the end I learned to appreciate him a bit more, but I still felt like someone needed to keep an eye on that one just in case. I also understand how he added a certain level of excitement and unpredictability to the story that really brought it to a different level.

Overall, I have to say I enjoyed reading this story. The relationship development was shaky at times but still continuously progressed. I have to say however that this is not one of those stories that left me thinking “and they lived happily ever after”. I felt like in the end some things went unresolved and could have used some wrapping up, but this may just be the authors way of getting me to look forward to the next story.

When she calls for help and David arrives she is surprised at the instant connection. Knowing that she is a large girl Bree never thought that a man like David would ever look past that and see what she truly was inside. I loved David and seeing their relationship take shape made for a wonderful read. When Bree opens up and lets go of her insecurities, the two burn up the pages.

Ménage at Mealtime by Bella Settarra is a great story. I enjoyed watching the two men find a way into Naomi’s heart. With James and Aaron’s help, she begins to see how beautiful she truly is. Not only did the main characters grab my attention but I enjoyed the secondary characters as well. Love is strong and emotions run high in this story. I loved seeing Naomi blossom and find out what she truly wants and deserves.

Calculated Risk by Michelle Roth gives us the story of Stella and Ian. The two are great together. Their attraction is there right from the start and grows into something much deeper. Ian is a good man and tries to do things by the book but his attraction to Stella is too strong. Not only is she a beautiful woman but she is smart and friendly. It was nice to see the two find their way to a happy ending. Life brings Stella and Ian together but it is up to them to fight for it.

Marital Duties by Jennifer Denys is Jennifer’s story. She and Rob are happily married but it seems that lately they have been too busy and hard at work to do anything but fall asleep once they finish their days. She longs for the good old days when they were carefree and spontaneous. When Jennifer’s assistant emails Rob a contract that Jennifer left on her desk the fun begins. Their story is a sweet story. I enjoyed seeing the two reconnect and enjoy themselves.

I enjoyed each of the stories in this anthology. They are fast paced and hot reads. Emotions and sexual tension run rampant in these tales keeping you interested all the way through. Can you imagine making that phone call and finding love on the other end? This storyline was a wonderful concept and I would not mind coming back for more.

There are many intrigues in this world, with battles for good and evil, and unusual alliances to come. This is a world filled with danger and delight, and lots of humor and passion. The characters are multi-faceted, neither wholly good or bad, but like most folk, just a mix of it all.

Eve Sinclair is a demon that sways souls, as are her two brothers. She dislikes turmoil and injury to innocents, and tries to make her quota without harm. When she learns of the prank her two brothers played at the Angels’ expense, she is determined to protect the innocent Dragon egg and return it to its home. When the egg ‘speaks’ to Eve, she is shocked and quickly learns what he is destined to be. Eve is smart and strong, and she has a feisty spirit that keeps her on track.

Ranton is determined to make the demon pay for her actions, although he quickly discovered that Eve is much more than he expected. He is drawn to her and realizes she is his mate, and that his unhatched brother has opened a link to her as well. Ranton is strong, determined and willing to give Eve a chance to explain her actions. I like Ranton, and enjoyed seeing how he came to accept the bond between her and his brother Jentaron, and Eve’s place in both of their futures.

This is a hot and passion filled beginning to the world of the Ethereals, filled with humor, danger, passion and fantastic characters. I enjoyed seeing the story unfold and am ready to spend more time in this world that Ms Harte has crafted. I look forward to seeing the ‘punishment’ of the two culprits who started it all with their prank, Duncan and James, and also look forward to the future King of the Dragons’ story in Jentaron’s future. This one is best enjoyed with a cold drink and a lot of tissues, because there is both laughter and tears in this one.

Both of the main characters have been told they either are or could be gay and to prove the powers that be wrong (or right), the characters go to this island and ‘try’ to get laid. From then on the real story starts. In a neat twist, the characters are shifters. Following along in these encounters–ones I could never have thought about–is so worth it.
