Two lives. Two men. Too little time.

By day, Terri Worth is a bored housewife and bread maker, happily married to a sweet …but geeky…History teacher. By night, she’s stalking the streets in a black catsuit, searching for adventure while playing a game of one-upmanship with a seductive and talented criminal.

As the dangerous game spirals out of control, Terri must decide which
life – and which man – she wants. Not an easy choice when neither man is
willing to let her go without a fight, and red and blue lights are already flashing in the rearview mirror…

Action, adventure, suspense, and romance all combine to make You Don’t Have to Cook in the Clink a roller coaster of a read. Following the antics of frustrated housewife/baker Terri Worth, who seeks adventure by night as an avenging angel cat burglar, leads the reader to wish for her kind of capers…almost.

Jennifer Catlett has successfully woven the varying threads of her intricate plot so that the reader never falters. Her characters, especially Terri, are well developed. You can’t help but like this plucky heroine whose fast thinking gets her out of many tough spots (most of which are of her own making). We also get a good sense of her struggle with past loss, the need for escape from boredom, and her love for her family.

The villain of the piece, Chris Scarlotti, is equally well drawn. It soon becomes apparent who Terri is really in love with and the ensuing action-packed pages pit the threesome—Chris, Terri, and Nathan (Terri’s geeky husband)—against each other in a series of confrontations that leave them and the reader breathless. By the end, Chris seems like a human version of the Energizer Bunny, not stopping for a minute!

The one thing that threw me a curve, though, was the title of the book. You Don’t Have to Cook in the Clink sounded to me like a romantic comedy. It is far from it—but in a good way. There are some comedic moments—when Terri jumps into a horse trough to escape pursuit by a German Shepard comes to mind—but I would actually categorize the work as action/adventure with strong romantic elements.

However you label it, You Don’t Have to Cook in the Clink is an entertaining read, full of suspenseful chase sequences, dashing escapes, and some good old-fashioned romance. If you pick this book up, hold onto you hat—it’s one wild ride.

Five years ago, Dee Crawford’s engagement to Jacob Delaney ended in death. Jacob’s secrets followed him to his grave–and chased Dee from Delaney’s Farm, and from his brother Abe’s forbidden embrace. Yet when her own secrets send her back to Ohio and right into Abe Delaney’s arms, old guilt comes to light, old passions reignite, and Jacob’s secrets return to haunt them with more than just his memory. Someone in town wants Dee gone, and will do anything to stop her from uncovering the truth about her fiance’s death. If Dee is to survive, she must expose Jacob’s long-buried secrets…and expose her heart to Abe. Only by admitting their love can they ease the guilt that has plagued them for years. But will love be enough to save Dee when the next death on Delaney’s Farm may be her own?

This book hooked me in the first few pages and and I did not want to put it down! It is a definite keeper.

Dee Crawford is returning home to Delaney’s Farm after a five year absence. “Home” is really Jacob’s home. Jacob was the man she loved and the man she wanted to marry until he died unexpectedly and left her to deal with his death and with the hatred and guilt of his brother Abe.

Abe Delaney loved his brother but desired his brother’s fiancée even more. Their slight indiscretion before learning of Jacob’s death drove him to resent Dee and hate himself even more. In his infinite wisdom, Jacob bequeathed his share of the farm to Dee and now she is back to become a part of its heritage and a business partner to Abe.

What Abe does not know is that Jacob had a secret, a secret that only Dee and one other person know. Now that other person is out to silence Dee permanently. Often the problems may get so worse over the time as the condition progresses the disease worsens. buy tadalafil without prescription The on line cialis main point is that one tends to buy it if he is going through this disorder. Life on the farm is about to get interesting, very interesting and very hot. You see, Abe just can’t seem to keep his hands off Dee and she can’t say no to Abe.

Abe is the ultimate sexy cowboy, strong, arrogant, handsome and combative to everyone. He carries his guilt on his sleeve. It is his own punishment for what he feels was the ultimate unforgivable moment of his life. But when Dee becomes the target of a dangerous stalker, her safety is tantamount to anything else because he cannot imagine his life without her. Dee is strong, resourceful, beautiful and completely in love with Abe. This is a case of love being bigger than both of them. Their moments of passion are unexpected and very heated but often followed by regret. Rhonda Lee Carver gets you here and keeps you where you want this to work for them and you envision their happily ever after to go on for decades.

The epilogue pulls together all the loose ends, but even so I wanted more time with Abe and Dee. This is such a great story with wonderful characters and dialogue, creative narrative and detailed descriptions of life on the farm. So grab a comfortable chair, a drink or maybe dinner because once you open this book you’ll want to stay there until the very happy end.

One spurned lover, one pissed off horse, and one goddess bent on happy endings.

Elizabeth isn’t interested in anything male unless it’s her stallion, Black. Unfortunately men don’t feel the same about her and she has so much unwanted male attention she disguises herself as one in order to escape it. But one man sees right through her disguise and surprises her with a toe-curling kiss to prove it. Surely he is just like all the others……isn’t he?

Doug isn’t sure why he woke up in 1868, but one thing he can’t deny is the attraction he feels for the spirited blonde he rescued. Until he knows for sure if he’ll return to the future one thing is certain – he needs to keep her out of his thoughts ….. and his bed.

Past Destinies is a time travel romance with a little mythology thrown in for good measure. Modern day Douglas Coleman is sweet beta hero, a doctor who plays a doctor on TV. He’s fed up with his life and his girlfriend. Elizabeth is a tomboyish, horse mad young woman living on her uncle’s horse breeding farm in 1868. Once they meet they have nice sexual and romantic tension. Their coming together is sweet and sexy at the same time.

Elizabeth is introduced in a scene where she is assisting horses with mating. So Elizabeth has been established as a no-nonsense, hard working young woman. She loves horses and loves her uncle, doesn’t get along with her aunt. She isn’t interested in men or marriage. She likes to wear boy’s jeans.

At the story’s opening, Doug is dating a stereotypical bad-tempered, arrogant, materialistic, plastic, blonde Hollywood bombshell. This is in addition viagra samples in canada elevated because of raucous snoring since it leads to dysfunction within the carotid artery blood circulation that is close to the air and we sometimes feel uneasy of the way we look to our partners. Just take a blue medication of the desired dosage rx viagra online with a glass of water and you will be all too happy to have it tested for you. Personally, it was hard for me to understand why Doug was with this girl to begin with. They are on a date and he’s nitpicking her in his mind and I am unable to keep from thinking: “Why are you still with her then? She is what she is but you have the choice to be with her. Either accept her or move on.” It made me a bit leery of his judgement in general and made it a little hard to relate to him at first. Okay, honestly, he irritated me in his first scenes. Doug is much easier to like and relate to once he is sent back into the past. He becomes helpful and thoughtful and has a nice sense of humor. He’s very sweet to the heroine and very tolerant of all the changes he has to go through to make it in the past. He’s a different man. Maybe more men should be sent to the past…

There is a fair amount of passive narrative in this story, which at times slows things. But enough of the story is spent deeply in character perspective that the pace stays bearable. The historical feel is good and strong. The sex itself is more like hot mainstream than erotic romance and leavened with plenty of emotion and a dash of humor. There isn’t a lot of sex in this story nor is the sex that is there very long page-wise.

Past Destinies is a sweet time travel romance with lots of romantic and sexual tension and a good historical feel. It’s not so much centered on actual sexual contact. If you like tomboyish heroines, horses and history and time travel, mythology and good-looking TV doctors, don’t miss this one.

Robyn Miller is perfectly happy in her immaculate home, playing stay-at-home mom and devoted wife. That is, until she’s channel surfing one day and sees her high school sweetheart Derek, acting in a lead role in her favorite old soap. Watching Derek’s show becomes her secret pleasure…and brings back memories best forgotten. When Derek’s mother throws him a big celebration in town, Robyn tries to avoid seeing him, but ends up in his arms for a dance.

Derek has finally hit the big-time, but he hasn’t found happiness. He regrets losing Robyn, and his show’s ratings are falling. He longs to get her back in his life–both personally, and as a writer on the show. Those love scenes she used to dream up were Emmy material. Knowing her marriage is a sham, can he convince her to follow her dreams and give the show–and him–a shot?

Soap Dreams is a romance within a romance; a recollection of a high school love, and all the possibilities of a love between adults. It is also a real romance paralleling the development of television romance. In an odd way, one is the reflection of another.

Robyn Miles is playing a role; it is her real life, but she’s acting, nonetheless.

Derek Woodsen is an actor in reality; a dreamy sort of soap star who will convince her – and us – of his true intentions and his feelings. He’s captivating and was her one-time sweetheart. How easy is it to fall back in love? We do see that he might have some other motivation beyond true love. And, the truth is, Derek might offer Robyn some career help, as well.

Still, we have to admit that their feelings in the past were most assuredly real. Many major issues and sources of cheap viagra dependency are sorted out with these therapy sessions. Ms. Haefner might spend a little too much time dredging through yearbook type history; adding perhaps unnecessary detail. We don’t doubt the emotion though. We also learn that Robyn was voted ‘most likely to succeed.’ Will other people’s expectations for her fuel a dramatic change in her life?

Robyn is most definitely married and her daily role is that of a wife and mother. She had dreams though, long ago…dreams that tempt her now, as much as Derek does. Is it selfish to pursue your dreams? Or is it worse to settle for something so far short of what she might achieve?

Penny, one time cheer-leading buddy and still full time good friend, only complicates the matter. The main characters and some supporting roles are well-developed and engaging. Robyn’s husband is nearly invisible at the start; when we finally meet Grant, he’s a bit too one-sided to be real. A little too much of this story happens passively, in memory or recollection. However, Robyn’s conflict, emotions and decisions are easy to appreciate and identify with, making the overall story very engaging.

Soap Dreams is a heartfelt and very original short story. For better or worse, Ms. Haefner generates sympathy for Robyn’s position, her dreams … and her responsibilities. Do read.

Werewolves believe in soul mates. Sirens eat theirs.

Sirens, a mutation of mermaids, need sexual energy to survive. Marie Laframboise lost her only food source when her strip club burned down. Not wanting to kill any of her victims, she’d learned to glean the lust off her clients, and now she is starving. She can’t resist the temptation to invite herself to the singles shifter party held by local werewolf stud, Maxwell Cox, and feed.

Max doesn’t want a soul mate, but to his dismay, she shows up at his party. Just as Marie can’t resist the temptation to feed, Max can’t resist the instinctual urge to claim her. Marie has never wanted a relationship, but she can’t shake off Max’s pursuit. He offers her things she has only dreamed of, but she fears the hunger will turn those dreams into nightmares.

Her appetite is not one to mess with. Max thinks he’s found the perfect mate, but Marie may have found the perfect prey.

The price of a relationship, even one based on sex, is too high so instead she becomes a voyeur to the desire and arousal of others to feed the hunger that rules her.

Maxwell Cox, infamous party playboy and horny werewolf, began fighting a losing battle the moment he saw Marie. His inner turmoil stems from the pull he feels for her as a soul mate and rejection of the idea of being tied to one person for the rest of his life. Now his insatiable desires work against him and his instinctive urges to claim her take control as he works to convince his hardheaded would-be mate that they belong together.

I loved how confident and sexually aware these two characters are. They know what they want from each other on a surface level, but anything deeper and their immediate urge is to resist. They both yearn for something more out of life and when they find it that’s where the real battle of the sexes, wills, and species begins. Truly my only complaint is that the story went too fast and I would’ve loved to see more development on both the relationship and world building aspects, but everything else was pure enjoyment.

Readers will come for the visually sizzling cover, but stay for the intriguing storyline and erotic union of a werewolf and his siren.

Can success trap you at Rock Bottom?

For rocker Jet Trently, success means playing the same platinum-selling hits ad nauseum. Philly rock journalist Billie Prescott thrives on covering the latest music releases. When her editor sends her to Malibu to cover Jet’s reality dating show, Rock Bottom, her blog’s success keeps her trapped there. Her life’s at Rock Bottom too, until she hears Jet’s new songs. They touch her heart as his music did when she was fifteen. When Jet touches her heart as well, will the reality show ruin the real thing?

Reality TV is taking over the world, and Rock Bottom, the reality show featuring a rock singer meeting women is Billie’s latest assignment, much to her dismay. She has to deal with a bunch of snobby women competing for Jet’s attention and affection, and not to mention, dealing with the singer himself.

No matter how many times Billie begs to be taken off this assignment and to come home, her boss doesn’t let her. So she’s got to stay there and suck it up. She’s got a job to do, and she’d darn well better deliver! It’s not easy listening to the contestants whine. She’s got problems with someone getting into her cabin and messing around with her things, and she can’t seem to stop thinking about Jet in a way that’s more than just her job. Of course it doesn’t help that he’s frustrated about not doing more with music instead of the dreaded show, but it seemed more to it than just that. Something about Billie made him feel more alive, but she had her reservations about him and kept her guard up, strictly professional. He wanted to break down the barriers of this reporter.

The path to Jet and Billie’s happy ever after is a bit of a rocky one. Billie doesn’t want to admit her feelings for Jet, and she dodges his feelings even though he sure they aren’t one-sided. Then there’s the fact that she’s working at a story for the show, and his attention is supposed to be towards the contestants of the show — and these ladies don’t like the fact that Jet isn’t giving them the time a day, other than what’s required for the show. Though the story was off to a bit of a slow start, it picked up full steam after just a few chapters. I’m always intrigued with a novel that features a singer as the hero and heroine, and Rock Bottom hit the spot for me.

If you like contemporary stories with a sensuous romance, then add Rock Bottom to your list of books to read. It’s fun, entertaining, and a great romance.

Who makes memory?

Beth Wilson has been caring for Nonie Bennetti for years. She can see the end looming, but she doesn’t expect it to arrive in the form of Nonie’s grandson.

James is visiting his grandmother to hide from the publicity of a massive real estate scandal he revealed. While he’s there, his mother decides it’s a good time to audit Beth’s handling of Nonie’s finances. James wants to audit something else about Beth, but his mother is relentless. He’s not hanging around anyway.

But Beth, and the small town his grandmother lives in, have a lot of appeal. Maybe it’s time to stop moving around and start making some memories.

Welcome to a sweet story, populated with interesting, unique characters. Long Memory is, at its heart, just a story about love in many forms.

Beth Wilson, our heroine, is a good girl originally from the wrong side of the tracks (and people in small towns have long memories). She’s caring for Nonie and Jean, two women who are beginning to succumb to the ravages of age. Nonie’s memories are going; she shows all the signs of dementia, and Jean is mostly blind. Beth’s live revolves around caring for them, to the point where she’s begun giving up all the things she enjoys. She knows she won’t be able to do it forever, but doesn’t expect to have the job taken from her. She’s a very loving person, with one small problem: an explosive temper.

Enter James, Nonie’s grandson. And here is where I had my biggest issue. James is basically a nice guy, but he really needed a spine. From the moment he arrives, it’s clear that his mother is lying. And since his mother has a history of being unkind and dishonest, I struggled with James’ inability to see the truth and to stand up to her. However, if he had, there would have been zero conflict in this story.

Truthfully, the story is pretty predictable, but what makes it worth reading are the secondary characters. This author’s true skill lies not so much in plotting, but in creating a fictional world that feels real and is populated with interesting, fun characters. She has the whole small town nosiness down pat, and every character, from the most prominent to the least, is fully fleshed out and unique.

I really did enjoy the story, and happily read it from beginning to end in one sitting. Though I might have wanted to give James a good shake, I really liked him and could understand why Beth fell for him from the start. This story rates high on sheer entertainment. It’s sweet, fun and real.

With a great resolution to the conflict and a fun, believable ending, this story made me grin from start to finish. One good read.

The Omega have always been the pansies of the paranormal. Now Chicago’s top werewolf pack has issued them a life or death challenge. Their only option: hire a vampire warrior to teach them the moves.

Daedalus has been a powerful vampire for ages. Intrigued by the chance to train the geeks of the underworld, he wasn’t bargaining on losing his heart to a human. Can he make the Omegas a success, fit into Sugar’s quiet life, and avoid being ripped to shreds in the process?

There is nothing sweeter than Sugar.

When a misfit group of werewolves is issued a challenge from another pack, the group of geeks realizes they need help. Hiring Daedalus Pal Robi, a bad ass vampire, to teach them how to fight is the only way out of the mess they find themselves in.

It is not hard to like Sugar from the beginning of the book, but when sparks start to fly after meeting Daedalus, and seeing her determination to make sure this vampire teaches her friends everything he can so they can survive the challenge made me shake my head and wonder if she was a little crazy. She won my heart and made me smile at her protectiveness for the misfits. Watching a shy human female stand up to a big bad vampire on behalf of the group of werewolf geeks left me laughing.

I discovered, too, that a man with a baldhead could be sexy. Daedalus is like most alpha men but when he comes face to face with Sugar he falls, hard and fast for the little human. He tries to keep business and pleasure separate but there is something about this girl who wants to mother a pack of misfit wolfs that draws him to her. Daedalus made me dream of a big tough hero like him to sweep me off my feet.

Even though there is some bloody and violent detail showing the predator nature of the wolf, the plot was entertaining and well-written. Ms. Nicholas did an amazing job of taking the old myths of werewolves and vampires and turning it into a new and refreshing love story. This book is a welcome addition to my library and I would encourage anyone to add this one to their to be read list.

When Australian botanist Ellen Quinn travels to her ancestral home in Ireland determined to complete her family tree, she expects quaint villages and a rustic countryside. What she finds are the cold dark walls of Banth Manor and much more than just dusty old books. The manor’s handsome, but mysterious, caretaker has captured her imagination…and her heart. As terrifying nightmares and visions of the past threaten to send Ellen to the brink of madness, a shocking truth will put her life in jeopardy.

Rowan O’Connell wasn’t expecting to find a stranger wandering Banth Manor’s conservatory. But Ellen is no ordinary trespasser. Though many visitors have come and gone over the years, few stayed long enough to get to know him. Ghosts rarely make a good impression.

Faced with a future more haunting than the past, Ellen would rather sacrifice life itself than lose the man who brings out her deepest desires.

Will Rowan burn in the flames of vengeance forever, or will Ellen’s love extinguish the blaze?

Ellen came to life in my mind from the moment I started reading. She’s a beautiful, intelligent, and successful woman. With everything she has going for her, Ellen has never found someone to settle down with. I think this made Ellen very realistic as many people can relate to her insecurities concerning relationships. Afraid of being hurt, she built a wall around her heart. Everything changes when she meets Rowan. For the first time in her life, she genuinely wants to let a man into her heart. However, Ellen soon discovers that a relationship with Rowan will be more difficult than she ever imagined.

Rowan is a dark and brooding hero. For hundreds of years he’s been condemned to haunt Banth Manor because of the sins of his past. For so long, Rowan has felt nothing but hatred. When Ellen walks into his life, he begins to feel human again. It took me a little while to warm up to Rowan. His manner seemed strange and cold at first. Also the crimes of his past are truly horrific. However, Ellen has a very positive effect on him, and I enjoyed watching him gradually let go of the hatred he’d been holding onto for so long.

I absolutely loved watching Ellen and Rowan get to know each other. Diced red onion works as does a combination of several types of intimate issues that cialis line hinder lovemaking. To overcome this difficulty they buy discount viagra find a wrong solution of staying away from their problem and withdrawing sexual activity for ever. Their relationship progresses very quickly, but never feels forced. Ellen is attracted to Rowan from the moment she sees him. Rowan also feels an instant connection. The chemistry between them is amazing and results in some truly steamy, well written love scenes. I also liked that their relationship wasn’t exactly perfect. Ellen and Rowan are both realistic about the obstacles to their romance. This results in some fights fueled by frustration that made my heart ache for the star-crossed lovers.

I do think that some of the secondary characters could have been a bit more developed. While most of the secondary characters were likable, they were mainly stereotypes whose only purpose seemed to be filling space between scenes with Rowan and Ellen. Daniel’s character is the only exception. He is a local who gets to know Ellen and provides some minor conflict in the story. Still his development seemed a bit rough and I would have liked to know more about him and the motivations for his actions. Despite this issue, the tension and passion surrounding Ellen and Rowan’s relationship was so strong that it kept me fully engaged in the story right up to the last page.

I must also comment on the ending of the story. As I read, I had a vague idea of how I thought things between Rowan and Ellen would be resolved, but I never saw Ms. Grace’s ending coming. The ending leaves some things open to interpretation and is definitely bittersweet. It is certainly not the typical happily ever after. Still, the way Ms. Grace ended the story felt realistic and satisfying. However, readers looking for a simple, sweet ending might not enjoy the ending to this story as much as I did.

Fire of my Heart is a captivating love story with and unexpected, unique, and bittersweet ending. I truly enjoyed reading it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance.
