Cailin Gray transfers to the new Atlanta branch of her company to work for the senior vice president, Alex Brannigan. But before her job begins, she allows the anonymity of the big city to lure her into a night of dancing–and the arms of a mystery lover hotter than anything this country girl could imagine. When she wakes alone, his absence hurts more than she thought it would, but not nearly as much as walking into the office Monday morning and discovering her lover is her new, married boss.

Alex has one goal: help his best friend, Sara Beth, keep her inheritance. Their plan included a marriage of convenience–check–taking over the vice president’s position–check–and keeping the platonic state of their relationship secret until their position of power is solidified. That last takes time, but the resulting solitude weighs heavily. Until Cailin. He told himself a single night would have to be enough, but fate had other plans. Now he must choose between keeping his dirty little secret and fulfilling his promise to Sara Beth, or finding the strength to free them all from the secrets that bind them.

This story completely captured me from the very beginning and kept my attention until the very end. Cailin has a naughty side that no one but Alex ever got to experience, and once he got a taste, he did not want to give her up. I can honestly say that the relationship between those two was something out of my fantasies.

Alex is everything I want in man: sexy, strong, reliable and knows what he wants in life. Both his strength and reliability makes him endearing but they can also lead to his downfall especially as he puts others ahead of his own happiness. This is evident throughout the story as he continues to keep secrets. The secrets he keeps will not only effect his life, but can destroy others, so he must sacrifice his happiness and possibly Cailin’s to protect those he loves.

Cailin is a sweetheart who deserves the world. I cannot help but feel for her position. She finally left her husband and was looking for a fresh start to only get thrown into more drama. She clearly wants Alex for more than just a quick one night fling but she knows that her lust is misplaced. She may have been a bad girl that one night, but she refuses to be a person who destroys other’s lives for her own personal needs.

This story plot line is intriguing to say the least. Both Alex and Cailin as well as the supporting characters really do have a unique situation on their hands that requires them to be delicate and try to do what is best for everyone. The secrets in this story are so deep and juicy it is a bit difficult to review as I do not want to spoil it for the readers. This story is one I will hold near and dear to my heart and is well worth reading. I fully intend to read it again.

This is the kind of book that I love to read! I’ve been a huge Kele Moon fan. I loved her Battered Hearts Series. It was the first time I’d ever read a MMA themed romance and I found myself hopelessly hooked. I enjoyed the series, and Moon’s writing, so much. This book begins a new spin-off series called Untamed Hearts. It lived up to all my expectations and then some.

Fate brings Marcos Rivera crashing into Katie Foster’s life. There is an immediate attraction that neither one of them can deny, even though Marcus tries to shut it down. Of course, Katie is determined so eventually she gets her chance. That part was so romantic.

It’s the typical good girl / bad boy trope that I tend to get into easily. I will say that this one had a great back story for Marcus and his cousin Chuito. Then throw in the angst and the drama of how hard it is for Marcos to catch a break …. anywhere. Yet, what stood out here for me wasn’t so much that as it was the romantic relationship itself and how Katie and Marcos accepted each other without needing to change the fundamentals of who they were. She knew Marcos was a bad boy capable of doing bad things. She still wanted him just the way he was. Now, Marcos does end up being a little reckless in a way; there was that bit of melodrama. But mostly he ended up giving her strength to stand up for herself and to take a chance on them. Oh and less I forget, the sex was hot!

That’s about all I can say without giving anything away. So let me just say that it had a good plot. The writing was smooth and flawless. The book flew by way too fast for me, and I will be going back for another read soon. Lastly, the characters were vibrant, capturing my interest and pulling me into their story. It was easy to have some real feelings for them. Katie was strong, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with Marcos. It was easy to love him.

On a side note, the series continues with Chuito’s book up next. He does have a dark side. I can’t wait. If you liked Moon’s Battered Hearts Series then you’re going to love this one just as much. If not then it can work great as a stand alone book too. It gets a big recommendation from me.

Cassandra and Josh are xenobiologists. Traveling around the universe searching for new forms of life is exciting and Cass is never lonely because Josh is there. He is sweet, funny, kind and handsome…everything Cass has ever wanted in a man. But he’s also her stepbrother. There’s never been anything but normal affection between the two of them…until they encounter the truth plant of Svortza 6.

The truth plant is said to have strange properties—it forces all who come in contact with it to act on their deepest emotions. Cass is skeptical of the rumors until Josh is sprayed with the plant’s secretions and begins having fugue states where he is a mindless creature bent only on satisfying his sexual hunger.

Now, trapped on an alien world, Cassandra is learning a lesson in submission and forbidden lust. She knows she must keep Josh’s actions secret from him or he will hate himself forever. But some secrets are just too big to keep…

Often the most taboo desires are the hardest to ignore. Cass and Josh have been together for years. Her mother married his father and then almost immediately died in a horrible accident. Since Cass was only seventeen, her step-brother Josh made sure he took care of her. In the years that followed the two have mostly been alone flying through space and researching various plants. When Cass finally develops into a woman, her ill-fitting clothes start to cause problems for her step-brother. However, both Josh and Cass are determined that nothing come between their familial bond, not even their own desire for each other.

Best Kept Secret is a fun read but it’s total erotica. The plot revolves around Josh being infected by a plant toxin that brings out true feelings and thoughts. Thus he turns into the “beast” and basically ravages Cass when he gets horny. She puts up a few weak protests but justifies that she has to give in because it’s the best thing for her step-brother. I found this rationalization weak and ineffective. Josh basically rapes Cass but it’s okay because she secretly wants it. But when he’s himself, she has to hide what they’ve been doing and pretend nothing’s changed. It’s a plot device that is well used and most readers should have no problems with it, myself included. It just doesn’t make for a compelling and well-written story is all. The back and forth didn’t generate tension so much as a silly way of keeping the two from having sex immediately and the story ends.

I thought the sex scenes were pretty hot and that’s what saved the story for me. The end scene where Josh and Cass finally have sex was honestly kind of laughable. I rolled my eyes several times at the dialogue and pretense, which carried on through the entire act making it neither hot nor erotic. That said I didn’t mind the book so much once I just ignored the silly plot. The sex scenes were plentiful and entertaining and since clearly the book was more erotica than erotic romance, I was ok with that. It’s not a well-written book unfortunately but I had set my expectations low and wasn’t disappointed.

This is definitely not a book I’d read again but I have to say I didn’t mind reading it. The characters are flat as a board and not well developed in my opinion. I also didn’t think their relationship was all that taboo. They spent literally no time as brother and sister, there was no growing up feeling that way and they live alone on a spaceship with just the two of them. So I felt the attempt at tension in this area lacking. There really was nothing stopping the two of them from having a relationship at the very beginning. That said, I enjoyed the erotica and would recommend this only if the reader knows going in that it’s hot sex but not a great story.

Derek faces the crunch as finances grow strained. Blue struggles to accept his best friend Jodi’s new relationship with a sexy but questionable boyfriend. And then there’s their parents. Between a visit from Derek’s estranged mother, and a looming scandal with Blue’s high profile father, simmering tensions threaten to erupt.

When Derek takes an out of town job, he faces temptation in the form of the attractive young man “who might have been.” Meanwhile, Blue is left home to weather the brewing storm alone, and when a lie comes to light, it may well be unforgivable. As the distance between Master and servant grows by more than just miles, can their hard-earned love endure?

Derek and Blue search for a happy ending now that they can be a “normal” couple. The past year has seen some real tests to their relationship from mob bosses to other men. Derek and Blue have weathered the challenges and only come out stronger. Now that more mundane issues are at the forefront, communication breaks down easily. Money and family problems are supposed to be easier and tamer issues for them to tackle but these normal situations are proving more difficult than either man anticipated. Both men need to lean on each other to make it through yet again.

Only You is the fifth and final book in the Blue Ruin series. Now there are no kidnappings, murder attempts, or other men for Blue to want and it’s finally just Derek and Blue in “ordinary” life. However, life with these two is anything but ordinary and easy. Since they are in a BDSM lifestyle, Derek still calls the shots but Blue is not above a little manipulation and power struggle to get what he wants. He’s still a little bit bratty and probably always will be but he’s finally maturing somewhat and understanding everything Derek has been through in the past year. I think the characters are definitely three dimensional with strengths and weaknesses to each. Blue is more of the driving factor in the book and it’s sometimes hard to watch him act so poorly, especially towards his best friend and her new boyfriend.

I liked that Blue seemed to learn some lessons in the book, some he richly needed, and it also made Derek seem more real and vulnerable. That he was subject to the same problems – money, health, family – that almost everyone is, to lesser degrees made him more real and less fantasy. Of course he gets really easy resolutions to his problems but it is fiction so that’s to be expected. I appreciated that the story presented the various problems in a way I could connect to and understand, even if the so-called “normal” problems were still far beyond what I would call normal.

For the last book in the series, it has a finality to the writing and situations. The epilogue shows all the characters a few years later, happy and settled, so there is no question of what happens in the future. It’s a nice ending and one that suits the main couple, especially after all they’ve been through. Fans of the series won’t want to miss this one.

I like Cheyenne, she was a strong heroine, and new her mind and went for what she wanted.

Grayson and Parker were great heroes, who seemed together to complement each other perfectly and in such a way that a permanent ménage is very believable with these three. There is a paranormal angle that is unique, but not necessarily needed for the story to work. I liked it, but this could have been a solid story without it.

I enjoyed the suspense, the chemistry and the way the author handled all the elements in this story smoothly, I definitely recommend it to ménage romance fans who like a bit of action in their stories.

He sets up a ghost hunting expedition at a nearby haunted hotel and gets everything just the way Demi would want it, down to the music playing on the MP3 player. Whisking her away, the two collide in a passionate realization of their feelings for one another.

A ghost is waiting for them at the hotel and she picks up on Demi’s erotic nature and hangs on for the ride. Sex, sex and more sex fill the couple’s time at the hotel. There is some investigating but it leads them back to bedroom exploration and the realization that they both like things a little bit kinky.

The only fly in the ointment is Pierce’s realization that Demi doesn’t do relationships. She stays on the surface. Can he delve beneath her armor and save his damsel from the ghost before none of them have a happy ending?

This story was a cute weekend getaway type of set up with a ghost hunting expedition thrown in for good measure. There were some reactions from both characters that felt over the top and I had a hard time identifying with either one of them. Pierce was too nice-setting everything up without demanding anything from Demi. She was a whirlwind of nature and kind of a sex kitten without much happening behind the scenes.

The chemistry between Demi and Pierce was undeniable and author Shyla Colt does a great job playing them off on one another. Using the male POV so the female reader can try and connect with the hunky hero was a win. Every girl wants to be whisked away for the weekend for kinky sex and it was nice to see things from his perspective.

Overall, this was a fun paranormal romp especially nice if you are in the mood for a short, quick read.  It’s ghost hunting on the go with some sexy adventures under the sheets.

Now that she has a mate she wants to feel that connection to another person. She doesn’t know why Dean holds himself back from her, both on the road and while at home. She needs him to be present and here, to open up to her. But if she pushes too hard she could lose him forever. Can Sundae’s keep it’s sexily ever after guarantee?

Stacking the Deck is one in a series of books by a variety of authors, all featuring sensual Easter baskets designed for pleasure and romance. This is Selena Illyria’s contribution to the series, and it is a look into a relationship that could easily fail, if both parties aren’t willing to share openly and truthfully.

Communication is essential in a relationship. Sharing his feelings is something that Dean is not comfortable with. As a dragon, and a bounty hunter of paranormal beings, he has never felt the need to share what’s on his mind. His past is filled with darkness and pain, and he can’t face it again. Carrie also has a painful secret buried away, and it is these secrets, both hers and Dean’s, that are weighing them down. But now he is in danger of losing his mate if he doesn’t find a way to open up and reach out to her. He’s is afraid it may already be too late, because he can feel Carrie pulling away from him. Carrie loves her mate Dean, but she wants him to communicate more. When Dean returns after a long mission, he can feel his mate pulling away, and doesn’t want to lose her. When he sees an advertisement on line for an adult Easter basket, he hopes it will help bridge the chasm developing between them. When the basket arrives, Dean and Carrie explore the various items and decide to try out the deck of sensual cards, to hopefully open the lines of communication and strengthen their bonds once again. As they follow the activities on the cards, will Carrie and Dean find a new sense of togetherness? Can Dean and Carrie learn that they both need to be more open and communicative for their love to flourish and grow, or is there no hope for these two mates?

The world building here is a treat, with attention to detail and some small and intriguing facets to it. The characters are well defined, and the focus is on just two people, Dean and Carrie. There are others in the background, but not really interacted with in any major way.

Carrie is a strong woman, but is wounded inside. She was abandoned as a baby, left for a human family, and ridiculed most of her life due to her fairy heritage. She never knew her birth parents, and this is behind her insecurity with Dean…if they left her, why wouldn’t he? I liked that she was willing to walk away from her mate Dean if he couldn’t open up and share with her, but I also liked that she knew she would have to tell him her past as well. She is a combination of sweet and sensual, and she was strong enough to face her fears with Dean.

Dean is strong, determined and rough, and he doesn’t understand why communication is important to his mate. He does know he can’t bear to lose her, so he is ready to try something new. I liked that he was open to trying, and the idea of the special Easter basket for Carrie was a good one. I liked that Dean was willing to make some changes on his side, rather than demand Carrie do it all. His ability to compromise, and even to relax and let Carrie take control was a giant step for these two.

Carrie and Dean had some rough patches to work through, and this story shows how important communication is to any relationship. Once these two got into the spirit of the Truth or Dare cards, there were many possible outcomes, and this book explores the many options open to Carrie and Dean to bridge the difficult times and make their lives what they wanted. This is for those who like romance, magic and lots of heat.

But Lance has been so hung up on Gordon that he’s been celibate all this time. He wants no one else. He regrets how things ended, but he’s never had the chance to try to make amends.

This is his only chance. Can Lance convince Gordon to trust him again?

Sometimes love needs a second chance. Three years ago Gordon and Lance had a tumultuous break up and Lance still hasn’t gotten over it. Although he was the one that prompted the break up, he knows that the two of them could make it work again. Unfortunately Gordon doesn’t want to give Lance a chance. Now the two of them are working together again for the up and coming band, Indigo Knights, and they are forced to resolve their problems. However, Gordon’s stubbornness may prove to be too much for Lance to overcome.

Lance is the third book in the Indigo Knights series by Jet Mykles. It can easily be read as a stand alone though and I think I would actually have preferred it that way. The events happening in Lance’s book start before the second book, Champion which is Danny’s story, and continue on past the point where Danny and Cash fall in love. So the third book kind of starts before the second but ends after that. It’s a little confusing for anyone really familiar with the time line and I’m not sure why the author made that choice. Regardless fans of the series will want to see Lance get his happy ending, no matter what order it happens.

In this book the narrative jumps back and forth between the present and past. The scenes of the past show how Gordon and Lance got together the first time and what went wrong with their relationship. It’s more complicated and nuanced than just one event so it’s important to show the full extent of their previous relationship so readers can appreciate the true depth of feeling between the men and that the reconciliation is not simply a matter of forgiveness. I do think the story spent too long showing how the previous relationship fell apart and not enough time showing how they, as a reunited couple, would avoid those particular problems in the future.

This back and forth is not a new technique but it is employed infrequently so I appreciated the novelty of it, however, I honestly would have liked reading the story in a more linear fashion starting with building the relationship to break it down then rebuild it. The story as it is, is very entertaining and easy to read, as are all the books in Mykles rocker series. They read like popcorn reads – light, fun, and quick with no guilt. It’s definitely not the best thing she’s ever written but the formula she uses for these books is familiar and almost always works so it’s an easy book to recommend to fans.

Sigh. I have a book hangover and it’s all Cherise Sinclair’s fault. For me, Edge of the Enforcer was one of those novels that I just couldn’t put down.

When I opened my file, the first thing that caught my attention (besides the hot cover) was an author’s note: a personal word from Ms. Sinclair to her readers. It made my heart swell and made me feel cared for.

My amazement didn’t end there, however. As I stepped into the novel I fell hopelessly in love with the Enforcer and Lindsey. The Enforcer, Zander deVries, is a sadist Dom, direct, crude, a bit of a bastard at times and yet, he’s so, so alluring. It could be his rare smile, his huge heart, his bravery, or that he knows when to step up and apologize. Regardless of what exactly it is, all I know is that I was in love with him from page one.

With Lindsey on the other hand, I cried. My heart went out to her. She’s in big trouble and as the author reveals bits and pieces about her and took me on Lindsey’s journey I truly felt for her. The Texan woman was not only sweet, with a warm and caring personality, she was brave; she was fearless through her fear.

The secondary characters I also loved, though I have to admit that maybe at times I found them too amazing. I wish I had friends like those: dominant Doms eager to protect me and their wives/girlfriends that would be by my side no matter what.

I don’t want to unravel too much of the plot, but Edge of the Enforcer is not only an extremely hot love story, part of its charm is that it has a solid suspense sub-plot. Like I mentioned earlier, Ms. Sinclair drew me into the story progressively, until I found that I couldn’t put the book down without my thoughts automatically turning back to Zander and Lindsey. Furthermore, the author describes beautifully. I was right there with the characters more than once: from dancing on the dance floor, to lying still under Zander’s command, to agonizing over certain matters.

Edge of the Enforcer is 334 pages but if you’re like me, you’ll zip through them and crave for more. A fantastic read that I will be re-reading again, no doubt.

But as the passion that never died burns out of control, so do old hurts and unresolved issues. They’re going to have to dig deep down to find forgiveness and the wisdom to move on.

I loved the quirky older ladies in this book who are meddling in their grown grandchildren’s lives so they end up happy. I love how that provided a feeling of a small town where everyone knows everyone.

Kyra Brims and Mike Haddican have a past, they were each other’s first loves, and honestly they never fell out of love. A huge misunderstanding in their youth set them on different paths, and I think this allowed them to grow and become strong characters so that when they do get together now, they know how to compromise and really make their love last a lifetime.

There is some outside conflict, but a lot of the conflicts are centered around their past, and finding a way back to each other. I love second chance romances, and this one has all the elements that I love. Two characters that never stopped loving each other, and despite all the time that has passed still can’t keep their hands off of each other.

I definitely recommend this story, it’s loosely connected to another series from the author since it takes place in the same small town, but is easily read without having read that series. I know that I look forward to coming back to Alden in the future.
