Alex hid his unnatural attraction to men for many years. That changes when the pirate Beche takes Alex after capturing his ship. At first Alex believes his fate is death and the only question a matter of how he might die. However, the longer he is on the ship, the more he realizes that Beche hates the world because it is unfair in ways Alex never understood. As Alex begins to respect this strong, independent man, Alex’s dormant desires begin to reassert themselves.

Beche hates the titled classes and their government enforcers. They might have outlawed slavery on paper, but they never came to the islands to free him or his family. Since his skin is black, society has little respect for him. Beche expects no more of this latest captive, but soon Beche begins to realize that Alex is a naïve and beautiful man who values family and struggles with his own place in society. That poses an even larger problem because Beche does not want to send Alex back to a world that will mistreat him, but he has no place for a lord on a ship full of pirates.

A young lordling on a trading voyage gets captured by pirates and learns that sometimes pirates can be more dangerous and yet more honorable than the so-called civilized nobility.

This is a captivating tale. It took me in directions I hadn’t anticipated. If you’re looking for a simple sex romp between a nobleman and a pirate, you’re looking in the wrong place. If you want a fascinating steampunk pirate story that challenges the way you think, then you’ve struck gold.

First of all, there’s the characterization. Alex has a curious duality about him, shy and quiet one moment, strong and opinionated the next. His father did horrible things to him when he learned of Alex’s homosexual tendencies, and the doctors involved told him terrible outright lies. As a result, he has no idea how to deal with his mixed feelings about Beche, the leader of the pirates. For him, learning about his true self and evolving his relationship with Beche are inextricably linked. Alex learns more about bravery in a short period of time than most men do in their entire lives.

Beche, on the other hand, is a former slave who endured heinous brutalities at the hands of his… shall we say, master. I’ll let you figure out another word for that evil man. With the help of other slaves and a guard, he freed himself. But for a black man with scars on his face he wasn’t exactly swamped with alternative lifestyle choices or employment. What’s most intriguing about him are his beliefs concerning Alex, whom he sees as a gentler soul than is natural for a man. In essence, Beche thinks Alex has the soul of a woman in a man’s body, which is how he explains his own attraction to the defiant lordling. Heady stuff.

At first the plot moves slowly as Alex gets used to his new life on board the pirate ship. In fact, the majority of this book is filled with dialogue and long conversations about the nature of human beings, sexuality, sexual identity, ethics, morality, honor, law, truth, lies—everything under the sun. It raises a simple tale of a lordling and a pirate meeting into an almost social narrative, giving this tale great depth and this alternate steampunk historical world context and foundation. Sure, at times the words these people used seemed too civilized and educated to fit their roles and lives in those times. There was even the word “online” embedded there once, but it was a minor oversight.

As far as the sex goes, this rates mainly as sweet romance rather than full on erotic. There’s only a couple of sex scenes, and there’s no anal sex or penetration whatsoever. For such a long story I admit I was expecting the sensual content to be greater. Most of the tale is full of action and adventure when Beche is caught by soldiers, taken to a fort, and has to be rescued with the collaboration and help of the pirates and Alex’s warrior-like sister, Philla, and his inventor sister, Aster. The other main side characters, Fabrice and Manuel, offer true insight into hard men who’ve lived through horrors but still retained their humanity by forming a bond as brothers and maintaining a dry sense of humor about the world.

All in all, this story has a lot of offer. The steampunk element isn’t as overpowering as it might, focusing on steam tech inventions more than the subculture of it, but in my opinion this is still a steampunk story with airships and Tesla gaslights. While I would have personally wished for more sensuality in Beche and Alex’s relationship, it was the slow-building of their trust and respect for one another that made the book so strong. While this tale finishes with a somewhat open-ended conclusion, I can foresee a happy future ahead for our heroes. I recommend this to all lovers of intricate slow-built stories with great depth, plenty of delicious, multilayered dialogue, and lots of action.

Donny “Foxy” Foxley is hot. Noble knows it. All those screaming teen girls know it. And so does the production company with their millions staked on the teen idol’s dreamy good looks.

It is magic-like medicine for men who even hate visiting doctor’s clinic miamistonecrabs.com viagra price and allowing doctor them to know whether the strength of the medicine is perfect or not.
So when the supposedly straight movie star comes onto him, Noble is floored. Never one to ignore the allure of a pretty young man, Noble can’t resist and doesn’t even try. Why should he? Even if it has to be a secret, he’d be crazy to pass up a night of sexytimes with the one man everyone wants.

But one night turns into two, then blossoms into a friendship with the potential for so much more. If that’s what Noble was after, which he’s not. But Foxy gets under Noble’s skin until he cares way too much. Because there can never be anything but sex between them. To the world, Foxy is straight and Noble is anything but.

The last single man of the Indigo Knights finally meets his match. Noble is loud, out, and proud. An outgoing socializer, he’s happiest surrounded by people before choosing one for a night of fun, commitment free sex. Although he’s grateful that his friends found their happy endings, he’s pretty sure he’s destined for the single life. Until he meets deeply closeted sexy Donny Foxley. Foxy is the new rising star actor attached to a multimillion dollar trilogy. He has a morality clause in his contract that prevents Foxy from coming out and Noble is fine with some no-strings-attached sex. Except Noble likes Foxy in so many dangerous ways. They actually get along well together, laugh, talk, and have a real friendship. Noble knows there can’t be more, god forbid love, but sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants.

Noble is the fourth and final book in the Indigo Knights series, which is a branch off series from Heaven Sent. Casual readers can certainly read this as a stand alone but there are so many names and couples included that it might be confusing if they haven’t read the entire IK and HS series. I’ve actually read both series entirely and still couldn’t remember all the couples and their details. Since the story does assume the reader knows all that information, I mostly let all the names and couples fly over my head since I couldn’t be bothered to go look up which couple was which and what the main details of their story. They’re all happy and in gay relationships so anything else is just a gift to the reader who can remember all of it. This time around Noble is the last single man standing and he finds his true love. It’s a cute story and one with a ton of sex scenes so I found it lightening fast to read.

The drama is mild and mostly nonexistent. Noble comes across melodramatic and over the top but it’s just an excuse to extend the happy ending and create some more tension. It never felt real or a genuine threat to Foxy and Noble. It’s clear these two are in love and will live HEA very soon. Like all the other books it’s easy reading but the classic rock band antics in the backdrop but this story made a point of including every single couple from both IK and HS repeatedly in the story. I think it is meant to serve as a nice farewell to the two groups and I admit it was charming and enjoyable to remember reading the love stories of so many interesting men. It also made me realize how similar every single couple’s story was and only the details about the men changed. Oh well, it’s a formula that works and it’s used well here.

I don’t think Noble is the best book but it’s not the worst either. It sits solidly in the middle of the road and works well as a final book. It’s very dramatic but more so easy going, a lot of sex, and a swan song to all the great characters over the years. They’re all extremely happy, in love, and very successful so hopefully fans of the series will be content with where the characters are left. I certainly am.

Ondry and Liam have settled into a good life, but their trading is still tied up with humans, and humans are always messy. When political changes at the human base lead Ondry to attempt a difficult trade, the pair find themselves entangled in human affairs. Ondry has no hope of understanding human psychology in general, he only knows that he will hold onto his palteia with the last breath in his body, and he’d like to keep his status and his wealth too. Unfortunately, new humans bring new conflicts and he is not sure how to protect Liam. He does know one thing that humans seem to constantly forget—that the peaceful Rownt are predators and when their families are threatened, Rownt become deadly killers. Liam is his family, and Ondry will protect him with his last breath… assuming that he can recognize the dangers in time to do so.

Happily ever after is not so easy when humans are involved. Liam has settled into life with Ondry and the Rownt so well he hardly considers himself human anymore. However his loyalties are tested when a human officer comes looking for information only Liam can provide. Although Liam is firmly on the Rownt side of tradings, he worries that messy human politics can and will affect his happy life with Ondry. Betrayals, miscommunication, and offense are just a few of the frustrating results that Liam must deal with as a direct result of trying to trade with humans. But ignoring them may lead to potentially catastrophic results.

In book two of the Claimings series, the story picks up where it left off with Liam and Ondry living happily in a D/s type relationship. There’s no sex as we know it but both are very happy and in love. However, being different species there are always adjustments and the inclusion of another human trade creates problems for the couple both personally and politically. I found the plot interesting and engaging but not my favorite. Liam handles the other human well but sometimes he comes across a bit slow to understand and recognize the real threat she presents. I have to give the story credit for making every character nuanced and well rounded but I definitely got frustrated with Liam. He would seemingly forget common sense or ignore his own instincts in a weird attempt to bond with another human, but I never understood why.

What shines once again, as it did in the first book, is the wonderful and utterly creative world building. I adore the author’s writing and love to dive into any world she creates. The science-fiction setting is so intricate and multi-faceted that it’s always engrossing no matter what other plot the book is pursuing. I honestly could read anything Gala writes in this world as the details that create this alternate world are so interesting. I have some trepidation that the next book will take place more in the human world, due to the plot turns, but I’m hopeful the Rownt culture and people will still be prominent.

As with the first book this is not a typical BDSM story. It has elements of D/s in that Liam is submissive to Ondry’s domination but there is no sex in the way humans see it and while there is a power exchange between the two men, Liam is a strong and essential member of the twosome. He’s not autonomous but he’s valued and treated in many ways as an equal. I think this series will continue to easily appeal to science fiction fans and maybe even those readers that like D/s without heavy sex play. The author is a great writer and the clean, descriptive prose that makes up the story is a joy to read. I easily recommend this one but would suggest starting with the first book in the series.

The beginning was interesting and well written however one thing that put me off was the fact that it was an insta-love/lust. The passion and lust was evident from the first page and after a couple of pages it was love. I don’t hate ‘love at first sight’ tropes but sometimes it’s tiring to read. I like a little more build up and tension before the declarations of love.

The plot was well written but there were some facts about turning vampires that seemed inconsistent and incomplete. Nothing that ruined the story or stopped me from reading, it just stood out to me.

This is a story where a vampire knight, or warrior, meets his chosen mate. However, this story is not as simple as that. They have to go through a mad man to get to their HEA. It has a heroine with a strong sense of humor, and an equally volatile temper and spirit to match the strength of her hero.

A vampire and a human both with haunting pasts that build their present. A read well worth the time.

Gemini is an action packed, fast moving adventure. It relies heavily on suspension of disbelief and the ability to be immersed in the story without questioning the many plot holes and contradictory details. I found sometimes I could be on board with the story and enjoy the over the top action, hot sex scenes, and entertaining chemistry between Kilo and Cass. At other times I was pulled out of the story frustrated over huge leaps in logic and changes in the plot and actions that didn’t make sense. I struggled with this story. I found the beginning to be entertaining and engaging and could forgive some of the obvious silly details, such as the airport bathroom scene, pretty easily. Once Paul died though I started to struggle a lot more with the plot and some glaring logic gaps.

Kilo and Cass are great characters and I loved their chemistry. Their sex scenes were hot, sexy, and just about melted the pages explosive. They simply worked together and that helped to really overcome many of my qualms about the book. I didn’t like the overly convoluted political plot that didn’t seem realistic or believable nor the convenient details that allowed for the resolution. I did like how both characters seemed to change over the course of the book, bringing out different qualities in each other. Their relationship by far was the best part of the book and I only briefly mourned the change from their initial agreement and hot sex to a more equable partnership almost immediately.

I liked parts of this story, but was too frustrated by the nonsensical plot unfortunately. I think the key to enjoying this particular offering is being able to suspend disbelief and enjoy the near non-stop action without questioning the details and plot turns that it takes to get there. It’s similar to an action movie with so many explosions that sometimes the lack of logic isn’t a problem. It all depends on the reader and their expectations. I’d cautiously recommend this for readers who think they could enjoy it.

I love the premise of this short story. How cool would it be to have a knight (or two) in shining armor rescue the girl from her crappy date and get a sizzler of a kiss to boot? I had to know how the kiss came about, how did the girl react, how did her date react and how did she and her heroes find their HEA? So many questions just from reading the blurb, I couldn’t wait to dive in.

Magdalena “Nena” makes for a very convincing damsel in distress. Seriously, the guy she’s with at the ballpark is a total dog and he treats like one as well. Fate, karma or destiny has them sitting next to long time partners Micah and Brody. These guys are ripe for meeting the girl who can make them complete. These guys are so hot together but when they put Nena in between them it’s off the charts.

There were a couple of issues that slowed me down in the story flow and only because it made me go backwards to be sure I hadn’t misread. Nothing crazy like name changes or time jumps but little inconsistencies in what is said in one place doesn’t match up when it’s repeated in another place. It didn’t kill the story for me but, as I said, slowed the pace because I noticed it. For me, the other issue was how over the top cave man-like Micah tends to be. I think the author could have pulled back just a bit on how his need for control and opposition to the “L” word. Having said that, there are enough hot scenes–the pool play comes to mind–and sweet chemistry between the characters to offset this. I wasn’t distracted for long.

This is a short story so the pace is pretty fast. I thought it was interesting how Brody and Micah reconnect with Nena and they don’t lose any time getting to know each other very, very well. Seriously, there is a lot of sex in not a whole lot of pages.

Brody and Micah were at an obvious stalemate in their relationship but I wanted them to work things out. They felt that adding a third, a female, would push things along and I guess it did get the action headed in the right direction.

This is a fairly quick read. It’s not a book readers are going to have to invest a lot of time or emotion to. It’s just a good quick, hot, hot, hot read. If that’s what a reader is looking for then, look no further. This one will satisfy just fine.

A night of bondage releases decade’s old evil that would play and gamble with their lives to get what it wants. No matter the cost!

I have not read the first book in this series, but I do wish I had. Though the second book could possibly be read as a standalone, it doesn’t fully answer all the questions since there were some facts and back story that were missing or incomplete. To fully understand the story you would probably have to read from the start.

The characters had very distinct personalities. I liked the angst and rivalry between Parker and Andre at first but then that began to become a bit repetitive and my interest started to drop. But then the events that occurred after that one bondage session happened and it amped up my interest level and kept it there until the end.

There are some scenes that would made me feel the pain that these characters were feeling (both physical and emotional) while also making me cry with the hope and love they have for each other. Some of the scenes may be deemed as torture by some.

A love triangle with a bit of BDSM and evil vampires in the mix. Perfect read for any vampire fan.

Flux Orbit is a fascinating science-fiction story that balances tender romance and heavy science fiction without relying too heavily on one or the other. Instead both arms of the story are vitally important to its success. The science fiction aspects are pretty far fetched but in the most interesting ways. There is definitely some suspension of disbelief required to accept and go along with the many twists and turns the story takes but the emotional payoff is so rewarding that it’s worth it. It’s hard to talk about the main plot without giving away spoilers but suffice it to say the science fiction aspects are impressive but never overwhelming. Fans new to the genre won’t feel buried with too much jargon or bizarre concepts, just a few.

The romance itself is really lovely. Jorihn and Kell have an instant connection and a nice, if very brief, initial time together. The relationship that forms after Kell reappears as Rally truly becomes intense. Watching the two men dance around each other with obvious chemistry is very entertaining but also somewhat heartbreaking as Rally reaches out to Jorihn for help. The internal struggle and mental anguish rides the line of being too angst-driven but the author has such a deft hand with the drama that it never slides into overwrought. Instead it makes the depth of the characters and their relationship that much more meaningful.

I was surprised and delighted by Flux Orbit and it’s one story I whole heartedly recommend. It’s rare to find a story that has handles both aspects of the plot (romance and sci-fi) so incredibly well without sacrificing one for the other. The writing is stunning, evocative, and truly engaging. I couldn’t put this down!

Henry is an earl who swore his now deceased father to marry and produce an heir. But he desires to be with a man just once, so he arranges to have sex with a stranger, Richard, who is gentle, kind, and patient. Their lovemaking could relight dying stars.

Both men have distinct personality traits. Henry’s a shy man, preferring the countryside over busy London. He blushes a lot and has no gift for lying. Richard, on the other hand, is a rake, wicked and bursting with life, even a bit reckless at times. He begins to realize his life, filled with casual sex, holds little meaning, let alone true love. He sees Henry, and begins to think he can change his life for the better. But due to their social statuses, their relationship, while starting innocent and sensual, turns sour and bitter soon. The author, Gastrell, uses small physical cues to describe the characteristics of these men, that become realistic when they, brokenhearted, act poorly and even cruelly. Yet they remain sympathetic and relatable.

For a long novel of almost three hundred pages, this tale has far too few instances when Henry and Richard are actually alone together. In fact, they have very few interactions altogether after their one night of indulgence. I kept waiting for these meetings that would have the two men learn more about one another to justify the love they grow to feel. Because they were kept apart through most of the book, I was left disappointed.

This story has a lot of other characters, which is both good and bad. Good because no relationship happens in a social vacuum. Especially in Victorian high society where decorum is the key and marital alliances unite bloodlines—and coffers. Plus, all these characters have unique personalities of their own instead of being just flat names in the background. Bad because Henry and Richard spend most of their time in the book engaged with other people and their messes. When that continued on to the last fifty pages or so, I lost all hope of an actual deepening of Henry and Richard’s relationship. Their confessions of love no longer felt believable. The sensual fervor, however, still did, because the beginning of the book showed so well the change both men felt at their one night together.

The historical context, the settings, the dialogue, and even the personalities of the cast—they all rang true. Gastrell seems to have an intimate knowledge of this era with all its intricacies. To be honest, once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. This tale brought out a whole host of emotions from me, from delight to frustration, from elation to sorrow, from anger to numbness. And that is how I judge a good book, one that draws me in, and doesn’t let go until the very last line.

Overall, this is very good historical romance, one that I have no doubt I’ll remember for a long time to come. The sensual scenes and the continuous emotional tension running throughout the tale was indeed very well told and shown. I was fully immersed into the tale, and I recommend this to all lovers of M/M and historical romances.

Dane isn’t into the latex and leather trappings of BDSM, and he’d rather make love under the stars than in a dungeon, but he’s undeniably an alpha male. For both of them, the other represents a different kind of lover than they’ve experienced. As Sue is drawn to Dane’s tent near the primal bonfire, Dane experiences a tug back. The battle for dominance threatens to drive them apart, and so does Sue’s pride as she decides whether she is ready to kneel to a man after many years on top.

I adore this series, and this is another unique and strong addition to the series. I’ve met Mistress Sue in previous books, but this time, this time it’s different because she meets a man who makes her want to submit at his feet.

Sue, has always been very much into the props that come with dominating men, while Dane is more into just into embracing the primal side. I liked this contrast of styles, and watching them have to work at finding a middle ground.

The only con was that I was used to Sue being this Mistress and watching her becoming a sub was a bit strange. I do feel like the author handled this pretty well, and a reader who picked up this book up as a first time read by Ms. Yssel wouldn’t have this same issue. This book can definitely be read as a stand alone.

I enjoyed being back on Bondage Ranch, and I do hope there are more stories set here in the future. The author is great at writing quick and light hearted BDSM, and I enjoy her skill with novella length stories that still have an emotional punch.
