Laera’s not sure she can find someone else who will make her feel the same way. She needs Bruce to realize that it’s time to break free from of his past so that he can get the woman of his dreams all roped in.

I’m a sucker for a BDSM story – there, I said it. But recently I’ve noticed finding great stories in the genre is increasingly difficult. Instead of vamping up the power of squirm, authors choose to express themselves via the power of shock. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but when a reader enjoys sexual tension, it can be a bit of a downer. So it goes without saying that when I find an author who feeds the intensity, and delivers the BDSM goods, I’ll remain a fan for life. Such is the case with new author Sindra van Yssel’s sinfully delicious Roped In.

The heroine isn’t the average damsel in distress; rather, Laera is a tough-as-nails woman who knows what she wants…even if she’s not been introduced to it yet. After losing her way in the wilderness, she finds herself in the capable hands of Bruce, a Dom who just so happens to be enjoying a weekend at the nearby Bondage Ranch. The journey from this point forward is fascinating, and the characters are both funny and endearing. As a reader who enjoys the struggle to confess submissive feelings, I found Laera’s reactions to be both honest and relatable, while Bruce’s past relationship and his inability to commit provide an obstacle to overcome in order for him and Laera to find happiness. She’s curious and excited, but understandably skeptical and wary. He wants her more than he’s willing to confess, yet he can’t seem to deny himself the pleasure of her newfound submission.

BDSM fans don’t want to miss out on this story. It’s got all the yumminess with none of the guilt. The material is tightly written, the pace never slows, and you’ll wriggle and squirm like a fish on a hook when Laera embraces her kinky side and Bruce takes control. I can’t wait to read more from Ms. Yssel in the future. This one has put her on my list of TBR authors.

Author Adrianna Dane has written a story that will break your heart just before she puts the pieces back together again. Benedict and Destrie are characters you love and want to see together, even as the danger of doing so hovers over them. The tension between the star-crossed lovers is wonderfully written, while the revelations along the way will keep you guessing. Just when you think you know where the story is going, it takes another turn, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next.

Reader’s who love an emotional story with a nice helping of sizzling-hot sex will thoroughly enjoy I’ll Be Home For Christmas. Don’t forget to pencil this story into your TBR list.

When we meet Will, he’s in a terrible position. His lover, who has a tendency to be violent, is a cop. Because of this, Will allows their unstable and deadly relationship to continue, which is a total hypocrisy, as he is the voice of a popular gay radio show. One night, his lover goes too far, and Will finds himself awakening from a beating that has left him broken and bleeding on the bathroom tile. With nowhere to turn, he finds himself taking a cab to the man he’s met only once but can’t seem to forget – the sexy and mysterious tattoo artist, Cobalt.

Cobalt is a fae who has been banished for the court. Unwilling to remain as the lover to one he refutes, he has carved a life for himself in the mortal realm. There is just one problem. All of those mortal men he loves go mad when they learn what he truly is. Although he knows it’s wrong to begin a relationship with Will, he can’t seem to get the beautiful, strong, and proud human out of his mind. When he claims Will for his own, a chain of events follows, and Cobalt will face the fae who would claim him for his own.

Talk about an entertaining story with memorable characters and writing that engages the attention and maintains the interest. I loved the mythos, the interwoven plots, and the world that S.W. Vaughn has created. Her attention to detail will allow you to envision Cobalt in his true form perfectly, as well as picture this fae world in which dark forces reside. While there are disturbing scenes and explicit violence that take place in the story, the source material of abuse is handled well, and I felt it was necessary to show the stark contrast between a loving relationship and an obsessive one.

Fans of the urban fantasy/erotica genre who have a yang for M/M romance will love Skin Deep. The protagonists are given equal time, and are intriguing in their similarities and differences. The dialogue is sharp and funny, and the plot keeps you guessing. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more of what S.W. Vaughn has to share in the future.

Carlin Rhodes is a firefighter, first and foremost. He loves his work, he’s good at the job, and he’s reliable to a fault. Some might say he’s too focused. A night out on the town with a good friend is exactly the thing he needs to loosen up. Even if that good friend abandons him at the doors to the Baseline and leaves him to find his own fun.

Zaid, a fire-called Djinn, dances at the Baseline, a nightly routine that bares it all for his customers and keeps him entertained while he avoids his destiny as a leader of his kind. When Carlin watches, though, it’s more than having fun. Zaid is intrigued and curious, drawn to the somber, focused man.

And like a moth to a flame, the firefighter is drawn to the fire-called djinn—and into a fight to save his city from the flame, when Zaid’s destiny comes calling.

Putting Out Fires is a story that is both unique and captivating. When a fire Djinn falls for a firefighter, you can expect things to heat up. But what you might not anticipate are the similarities between the two men and their need to blend into the society around them.

The fire Djinn, Zaid, had me at hello. He’s sexy, he’s mysterious, and his manner is both intriguing and seductive. I couldn’t wait to learn more about him, what he was, and how he came to exist as an exotic dancer in an exclusive club. As more about him is revealed, you realize the flashes you gain in the beginning are nothing compared to what he truly is — a complex hero if ever there was, and a powerful one too.

If Zaid is blatantly sexy, Carlin is understatedly so. He’s a man who has kept his sex preferences hidden, fearing the loss of his job and respect of his peers. I found his battle to maintain control admirable and understandable, yet somehow sad. When he meets Zaid, you realize just how tightly he is wound, and in a twist, know that’s why they play off one another so well. Whereas Zaid is free, Carlin is bound. When the roles are reversed, it’s only fitting that they discover a freedom that will allow them to be together, face the danger that looms, and hope for a future in which they can exist in happiness.

The writing is fantastic, and I loved the way Sienna Black kept things going. You won’t want to put the story down at any point and will fall in love with the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed Putting Out Fires, and recommend it to those who love an engaging story with scenes that sizzle and burn.

This year, though, Paul’s determined to change all that. To convince Emerson through charm, logic, and incredible sex they were meant for each other. What neither of them counted on was what would change after that.

Can Emerson control his phobia to be with Paul? How does Paul feel about being more than an occasional lover to Emerson? Can Liz help her two friends stay together?

For years Emerson, Paul, and Liz have been friends. Emerson and Paul have been on-again-off-again lovers and used to work together with Emerson composing songs with Paul. Paul then performed them. Now Paul is out on his own trying to make it. The three of them get together every Thanksgiving and Paul spends a couple of days with Emerson. Can Paul and Liz help their friend work through his phobia? Can Emerson’s determination to be able to spend time with Paul be enough?

This is a short story but Ms. Harte does a good job of showing how much Emerson and Paul care about each other as both friends and lovers. I loved seeing their relationship. She also shows how much friends, including Liz, can be more family to you than the family you are born to and that it is great to be around for the leftovers after the meal. Treva Harte is a new-to-me author and I will be looking for more of her books. This was a great introduction to her work and I look forward to more from her.

Heath is surprised when information on a hit leads him to Cadie. He hasn’t seen her in two years, and during that time, she’s been the star of his most erotic fantasies. Persuading her that he and his brother Wyatt are the men who will protect her is nearly impossible. His only recourse is to take her as his hostage, and when he does Heath realizes that a threesome affair is as inevitable as losing his heart to her.

Lust was what she felt the first time Cadie laid eyes on Heath. Now he’s back in her life with intentions of protecting her. But Cadie has never acted like a helpless female. Heath has other plans though, and takes her as his hostage. Surrounded by Heath and Wyatt, it’s impossible not to act out on the desire she feels for both, and it doesn’t surprise her one bit when she begins to fall in love.

With a will made out of steel, Wyatt holds back the raw, carnal feelings he has for Cadie. The last thing he wants to do is cause a rift with his brother. But Cadie is a temptation he can’t control. He’s falling in love with her, and he’s surprised when Heath notices. But he’s even more stunned when Heath’s willing to share her forever.

This book is a good suspense read with some hot menage romance to tickle the readers fancy too. Cadie is a former police officer who has someone trying to kill her. She is strong, confident, and not really predisposed to acting the part of helpless female. Thus the reason that she becomes a hostage of Heath and his brother Wyatt, a couple of private detectives who want to keep her alive and find the killer.

Heath is a former lover who never forgot about Cadie and Wyatt is his just-as-hot brother who finds Cadie just as attractive. It is easy to understand,, based on their past history how quickly Heath and Cadie fall back into a relationship. The relationship and strong feelings with Wyatt seem to happen a little quickly, but I can’t blame the girl for taking advantage when the opportunity presented itself.

Over all this story was a very enjoyable read. The suspense ending was a surprise, and the romance was hot. I discovered that although it is not numbered and stands well alone, this story is part of a short series by this author. I certainly would like to read the previous books and would recommend this one to others as well.

For lonely, virginal David, Seth comes out of the night like a hero from one of his favorite books, only hotter. Seth’s passion and tenderness pierce the protective shell of isolation David has drawn around himself. In the wake of their shatteringly erotic encounter, David asks Seth to live with him. But just when it seems like happily ever after can happen even in Detroit, Seth’s past comes back to drag them back into the Pit.

Rust Belt is a captivating story that lures in the reader and maintains their interest throughout. From the start, I wanted to know more about the mysterious homeless man, Seth, as well as the quiet and reserved book store clerk, David. One scene and a few wonderfully crafted stanzas set the tone, but as the story progresses, it’s the ever-changing relationship between the men that fascinates and excites the reader, ensuring they won’t put the book down.

In the beginning, I didn’t know what to make of Seth. It’s apparent he has issues, but initially, you’re not told exactly what they are. When he rescues David from a group of gang members, you know he’s a noble creature, aiding and coming to the assistance of the man kind enough to give him his left over noodles when he noticed Seth dumpster diving. It’s painful to read from Seth’s point of view at times, as he’s been isolated for so long, he’s forgotten what it’s like to be in the presence of another human being.

David is a character who is equally complex. He’s also isolated, but it seems to be more of a defense mechanism than something intentional. There were times I didn’t understand him, especially when he wanted to do things such as travel alone (which resulted in his attack the first time around), but as I got to know him, I recognized his need to protect himself. In finding Seth, he has someone to care for. He’s a nurturer who, in a twist, becomes the protector and advocate.

Thanks to fantastic writing and sensitivity to the material, the darker elements of abuse and rape are handled beautifully. You have to know he torment Seth suffered in order to understand him; however, it’s done without titillation and focuses more on the damage caused after the fact. I loved the flourishing relationship between the men, as well as the sweet exchanges between them. Seth should have been the stronger of the two, yet somehow, he is the most fragile. As their roles are reversed, and David takes control, your heart will ache for each of them. I can honestly say that Seth and David are two characters I’ll never forget.

Fans of a solid M/M romance will fall in love with Rust Belt. This is a story I highly recommend and suggest you pencil onto your TBR list.

Abby is a sympathetic character you’ll root for, while Talon and Teagan will make you sizzle like an egg on hot summer asphalt. I enjoyed the ménage scenes and interaction with the trio, but the best part of this story is the romance between Abby and Talon. They’ve wanted one another for a long time, and now that they are free to explore their innermost desires, a lot of sexual healing takes place.

If you want a ménage with a little something extra, It Came Upon A Midnight Clear doesn’t disappoint. Be sure to put this sinfully delicious story on your TBR list.

But his plan come tumbling down when he realizes they are more alike than he’d ever want to admit. And when he decides to punish her in private, he’ll have to keep his dominant streak – and his heart – from crossing the line.

There is a very thin line between love and hate, and that is clearly demonstrated from the beginning in this story. The sexual tension and chemistry between Morgan James and Donathan Cannon sparks from the very first page, even as they both try to deny it. This book is fast-paced and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

It is very interesting how Morgan who is a very aggressive and confident business woman discovers that she enjoys being submissive and being dominated by Donathan. Morgan’s growth as a woman who cares about others and who is not solely focused on her career is a great story. Her ability to figure out how to make things work and to brazen her way through the most uncomfortable of situations is endlessly interesting. I found myself wondering how she would solve each situation as it was presented and she always came through.

Donathan’s character grows during the course of this book also. He “thinks” that he set up the whole scenario of a “reality show” to humiliate and punish Morgan for her misdeeds, but through the course of the story, he discovers that all of his assumptions about her are not true. He also discovers that she appeals to him on a very basic level that he cannot deny.

I highly recommend this story to those that appreciate this genre. Some of the humiliation and sexual scenes are a bit rough and there is a group scene that may be disturbing to some readers, but this reviewer loved it. The emotions that build and grow between the characters more than compensates for the strong BDSM scenes at the beginning of the story. I believe that most readers will find the ending more than satisfying. A gripping read that I have to recommend to any fans of the BDSM genre.

She claims to have no sympathy for human emotions but is deeply frustrated by their inability to view their fleeting lives from the perspective of eternity. Desperately lonely, she struggles to cling to reason in spite of her need for a mate.

Tadgh is a sensitive poet thrust into the cruelty of war. He keeps his sanity by promising himself he’ll live to enjoy life to the fullest when this cruel war is over. When the goddess of death appears to warn him he is about to die, he finds he’ll do almost anything to cling to life. And to her.

Tadhg’s gift of days is surely at an end. But Morrigán sees something in his eyes which she has never observed in any of her charges. She wants him, in every sense of the word. But can he face his hidden desires? Can he handle the consequences of sex with an Ancient?

I have three words for The Ancient: This. Book. Rocked! From the gritty beginning to the fantastical ending this story entranced me with its visuals, characterization and heart.

Tadhg is the hero and from the get-go, I appreciated the way the author helped a reader pronounce his name in a very clever and natural way. Not too many authors seem to go that extra step so I wanted to express my appreciation here for that fact alone. Tadgh is a man of action, of hope and integrity. He shows caring at a time when most of the softer emotions have been crushed or died from the horrors of war. He won’t give in and keeps his chin up, not just for himself but for the men who follow him. Ms. Adler gives a reader a wonderful character to respect, admire and to yearn for good things to happen to. His inner strength, even when faced with what at first seems his worst nightmare of choices, allows for Tadgh to grow and move forward as he figures out his new world.

Morrigán is the heroine who I enjoyed reading about. She’s got a tough job and has been doing it for a long time. In her line of work, the softer emotions also get trampled so thoroughly, they become nonexistent. What a challenge it must have been for Ms. Adler to take this woman of minimal compassion and tease out the finer nuances of her character. There is much growth for her too in this story and it complements Tadgh’s.

The attraction between Tadgh and Morrigán is smoking hot. Also, the sex is as far from gratuitous as any reader who enjoys a meaty and well constructed plot could wish. It served a purpose yet its use and placement built tension, believability and sensual satisfaction at each culmination. It felt real and needed and beautiful. Usually I skim such scenes if there are too many but Ms. Alder wove them into the story with a masterful hand. I enjoyed every tingling, teasing moment.

The conflict is both internal and external. The internal is mostly the accepting of the changes both need to go through for their relationship to survive and thrive. Since there is a strong paranormal aspect, it is daunting indeed. The external pain in the neck comes from a man who haunts Morrigán constantly and his threats are getting worse with a good chance he can hurt her. Once an egg goes bad there is no saving it…I guess it can be the same with people. The only difference is, with a person you try to have hope.

The Ancient is one of the most enjoyable paranormal romances I’ve read in a long while. It combines realistic views of the harshness of war with the hope for a future even among the horrors which surround it. The story embraces two strong characters riddled with doubts and burdened by the choices they must make. It was a joy seeing them fortified with the power of love and what they could accomplish when they stood together. My only sadness came from Dagda. He was an important secondary character to this story and enough of his emotions and of his life are revealed for a reader to feel empathy for him and to want the best for him.

I sincerely hope that Ms. Adler will take pity on Dagda and give him his own story someday. I don’t care what he said to Tadgh, it can’t be true. Not completely. In any event, despite my emotional plea for Dagda, I highly recommend this story to all readers who enjoy a higher standard in their paranormal romances. The Ancient delivers with strength of plot and character I always look for and do not always find.
