The issue I had wasn’t with the way the all-important subplot involving Natalie’s significant other was handled. What bothered me, however, was her eager readiness to deliver the brand of punishment she wanted to Van, without discussing the matter beforehand or trying to understand his needs as a submissive. Van’s behavior after discovery (a broken man pleading to introduce Natalie to his “therapist” to help her have a clear understanding of the lifestyle) is so very different from the man we are shown when Natalie chooses to master Van for himself, and leads to a very sexy but emotionally confusing scene near the story’s conclusion that I had a difficult time accepting. Van turns into a jealous and abrasive “brat” of a submissive, while Natalie struggles to liberate herself from a woman who was shunned into an enlightened sexual goddess. To be sure, there is emotion here, and it’s heady. However, I found myself detached from what I thought I knew and thrust into something else entirely.

The writing is fantastic and the sexual tension is so thick you can hardly breathe, ensuring that the above mentioned issue is only a very minor complaint if you delve deeply into the context of a story. I did enjoy the characters and would have liked more time with them to understand them better. As it is, they made an impression, which, either good or bad, is definitely the mark of something intriguing.

As the cherry on top, MacGowan’s almost too busy stressing out over learning to be a “real” wizard to pay attention to T.J.

Still, this tomcat has learned that home is where the heart is, and he’s going to hang onto his magical relationship with MacGowan with all four sets of claws, come what may. (And a lot may come, including them if they’re lucky).

You do start to understand them the further you get into the story but at the beginning they just left one big question mark in my mind. Other than this detail I felt the plot was well constructed. And for better or worse, the relationship consistently moved forward.

The way the author was able to combine T.J’s tomcat side with his human side was remarkable. Little things like the way he would purr when MacGowan touched him a certain way really added depth to his character. His feline side was just as important to his human side and they both where always sharing one mind. T.J alone was enough to keep me reading this story. I give this one 3 cherries.

Dane and Ariel were fantastic when introduced by Jennifer Cole, so I was curious to see how they would appear from Qwillia Rain. The answer is beautifully. In fact, I think Ms. Rain brought a notable level of emotion to the series with her characters, and let me tell you, it makes for one heck of an exciting read.

After Ariel’s sister accepts an invitation to explore her submissive side at an exclusive place owned and operated by Doms Logan Abram and Dane Reese, Ariel is left to hold the fort at their café. Although happy for her sister (who wishes to connect with Logan), Ariel resents the men who have taken her so far away, with rules that prohibit Alayna from making any contact with the outside world. So it goes without saying that Ariel doesn’t welcome Dane’s appearance in the business and his declaration that he’s going to be doing the books until Alayna returns.

From the moment Ariel and Dane meet, they clash. Dane has a lot to teach Ariel, if only he can find a way to get under her skin and convince her to give him a chance. When their agreement is made, the story takes off, and you won’t want to stop reading.

If you enjoyed An Invitation: Alayna’s Training, you will love An Invitation: Ariel’s Pet. I couldn’t put this story down and felt Ms. Rain managed to put as much heart into the story as she does heat. Dane and Ariel are without a doubt two of my favorite characters in this series, and I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to review their story. Be sure to put this one on the TBR list, you won’t be disappointed.

The conflict in this story was great. It actually left me questioning who was really on the side of justice on a few occasions. The only people you can actually say have the right intentions throughout this story are Senth and Khyff and even they have a checkered past. I mean how trustworthy can a thief and a prostitute really be? This was a good sci-fi story with a great cast and interesting plot. I look forward to more from this world.

Rather, you get a mixture of everything, and it makes for a very enjoyable story that ends long before you want it to.

A definite must read for BDSM/Sinclair fans, as well as those who love this series. Master Cullen was wonderful to get to know and Andrea is a heroine I won’t soon forget. Be sure to put Lean On Me on your TBR list. This is one story in an amazing series that you don’t want to miss.

There is a surprise external conflict I didn’t expect and it moved this story from a good read to a really great read. I can definitely recommend this book to any reader of romantic sci-fi fantasy stories because it has all the best elements to entertain, keep a reader’s interest and a happily-ever-after that really satisfies.

The resolution to their relationship feels like the end to the series for these two but is completely satisfying. Fans can feel happy with the romantic and very fitting end. This series finishes up on the perfect note.

The writing is once again solid with quick dialogue and great descriptions. The fast paced makes the novella fly by and almost sorry it had to end. However, as I’ve said, the ending is wonderful and closes the chapter on these two with a great feeling. Although this can be read on its own and there are enough details to catch any reader up, I’d suggest reading Immortality first to fully appreciate the relationship between Peter and Adam and the changes both go through to get their happy ending. Although I’m sad this is the the last time I’ll read about these great characters, this is a series I’ll easily read multiple times and suggest you do the same.

Aside from this, An Invitation: Alayna’s Training is both intriguing and enjoyable. The interaction between the characters is fantastic, as is the dialogue and premise. Logan has a lot of baggage to sort through and Alayna is the perfect heroine to guide him on the path of redemption. Also, as a bonus, there are two characters that are just aching for their own story, so I’m sure we’ll see more from Logan and Alayna in the future.
