It drags in some places but added details and scenes about the missing girl case help alleviate that feeling.

Some of the writing may not be to all readers’ tastes though those familiar with this author won’t have a problem. The prose choices tend to be exaggerated and a bit over the top while the descriptions can border on clinical, especially when talking about various sex organs and body parts. This isn’t enough to ruin the book and fans won’t have a problem with this. Overall Breaking Logan’s Laws is a good addition to the series. Fans and newcomers alike should enjoy the heady romance and solid happy ending between two likable and very sexy characters. This is an easy story to recommend.

He’s a bright spot that Louis reaches for in the darkness of the story. Some readers may find this too dark and indeed I found it depressing in some ways but there is a bit of hope, though perhaps not as much as I would have liked, at the end.

With that said, the physical connection was not the dominant trait in this relationship so it was easily forgivable because the emotional attachment took precedence in the characters’ relationship so it also took precedence in my attachment to the characters.

Not only was the relationship development between the two main characters well portrayed in this story, but also the father-son bond that I got to watch bloom between Collin and Kerrigan. I loved the way Collin discovered who his son really was in this story. He also was willing to love Kerrigan and want to care for him even when it would have been easier to just give up. It was something that truly touched my heart and will stay with me for a long time.

With strong emotions and characters with limitless abilities to care for others this story tugged my heart strings and stayed with me long after the last page was turned.

I always know that any book by Cherise Sinclair is going to be good and this book does not disappoint. With characters full of depth and emotion I was once again pulled into the world of the Masters of the Shadowlands. Master Marcus is not only a great Dom and trainer he is a wonderful man who loves with all his heart. He is more than willing to fight for those that he loves.

Gabrielle is stronger than she looks. She is a fighter and no matter what life throws at her she keeps picking herself up. Right from the start the sparks fly between the two. Both fight their feelings and must find peace with their pasts before moving forward with each other. Gabrielle blossoms under Marcus’s love and when she finally opens up to Marcus he shows her what it means to him.

I loved the bond that each of the Masters of the club and their subs have, including Gabrielle and Marcus. They may enjoy their fun a little differently, but the love that they feel for each other always shines through in everything that they do. Even through the threats and the deceit of another jealous sub, Marcus and Gabrielle’s love never wavers. They may have their ups and downs but Marcus never gives up on Gabrielle and her love.

Make Me, Sir was a gripping story that kept me entertained all the way through to the end. I cannot wait to visit the Shadowland club again to see whose story is next.

The Boy Next Door is a sweet romance with the familiar and well loved theme of friends turned lovers. The two main characters are normal guys dealing with the every day struggles of life, jobs, economy, and a relationship in a small town. Lowell and Jase have a lot of conflict that draws out the story. There is the issue of Jase’s ex-wife and custody of his child which plays a huge role in the novel. Then there is Lowell’s openness about his sexuality while Jase prefers to stay closeted. These problems and more contribute to the tension about whether the two men can actually weather the issues and come out together. While the story is by turns romantic and lovely, it also tends to drag. There is some information and additional scenes that don’t seem to add much to the story. Jase’s best friend, a nearby bar owner, is also gay but I’m not sure how his romantic problems play into the story. If anything this distracts from the main couple. Additionally Jase and Lowell have a rocky relationship with a lot of fighting. Jase is especially fearful and often lashes out at Lowell because of this. Lowell is pretty understanding but ultimately I wasn’t entirely sure that these two really fell in love and lasted.

The characters are three dimensional and come across as authentic. Their problems feel genuine and you can empathize with their issues. There are no clear cut evil villains and the story creates good tension with a definite happy ending. While this didn’t always work so well for me I think some readers will enjoy the real feel to the story. Everyday men with problems and issues that aren’t fantasies but find a way to true love. If this sounds like your type of book, give it a chance.

The first thing that drew me in and stood out was the dialect, which gave a flare of modern day “real people” feeling to the story, and the characters just jumped out at me with their personality. I did have to put the book down for a minute and get on the computer to find out about the old Kinsey continuum of sexuality, just to see if I could find any input. This story was a wild ride and a lot of “hey what the hell”; I think it was a new and well plan plot, which is why I will be adding Tara Lain to my list of favorite authors. I definitely fell in love with her writing style and imagination. She had such a refreshing plot that will stay with me a long time and I think is well worth the money to add to your library.
