Daniel Livingston is finally free. He’s come clean about his passionless marriage and moved to St. Nacho’s where he can spend time with his brother. Now he’s ready explore the endless sexual buffet being hot and rich and single has to offer.

The problem is a firefighter named Cameron Rooney who haunts his every waking thought and half his dreams. No doubt about it. Cam is going to require a level of honesty Dan has never before considered, and in order to achieve that, he will have to turn his life inside out. Coming clean to his ex-wife will cost him money, doing right by St. Nacho’s will anger his business partner, and exploring a painful family secret will hurt the one person Dan has sworn to protect.

Cam’s faith in Dan is tested and Dan’s belief in himself is nearly non-existent. In the end, forging a new path could cost him everything or net him the most important score of his life in The Book Of Daniel.

Sometimes you get what you need and not what you want. At least that seems to be what is happening for Daniel. Stuck in St. Nacho’s while he rehabs his crushed arm, Daniel can’t seem to catch a break. He unintentionally disappoints his newly engaged brother Jake, and Daniel’s on-again, off-again animosity with sexy firefighter Cam is a bumpy road. Add in a long lost dying father, more accidents than anyone should handle, and a ton of misunderstandings and the result lands Daniel frequently in the hot seat. He keeps trying to get out of trouble but each attempt only lands him deeper in the mud.

Book of Daniel is the fourth book in the St. Nacho’s series by ZA Maxfield. After all, viagra generika life is all about discovering things and sensations you haven’t seen and felt yet. Long time fans of the series will definitely want to read this one and any newcomers shouldn’t worry because each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. In fact it almost reads better as such as frequently the characters seem to change from book to book and so reading without those preconceived ideas may actually help. Book four picks up with the story about Daniel and Cam and it’s a rocky romance. The romance between the two men runs hot and cold with numerous misunderstandings even as Daniel spends the majority of the book on his knees begging for forgiveness again and again.

Unfortunately this doesn’t always work as Daniel is painted as a selfish cad, but his actions never quite seem that way. We’re told more than shown Daniel’s supposed horrible character but I never quite bought into that. Additionally, the story throws in a lot of different plot points. There are simply too many and some don’t really make sense with the context of the story. They seem too easy and manufactured. The timeline at the end jumps around wildly without much explanation and includes pretty big leaps in logic that are difficult to follow and furthermore relate to the point of the story.

On the positive side, the descriptive quality is pretty high and pure Maxfield. The great St. Nacho’s setting that stars so well in each story is on display here and the various secondary characters easily charm once again. The writing is good and very engaging, even if the characters and their romance wasn’t as much. I wish the plot had been tighter with a much more linear and cohesive storyline and characterization. This is a good book in the series but not the best. Fans of the series won’t want to miss it but newcomers may be better off starting with the real gem of the series, the first book. Still, I’m glad I read this book.

Three teenage kids stuck in the suburbs of New Jersey in the ‘70s combined to become a punk band. Instead of it being a summer diversion, they suddenly become famous. Stu, Jimi, and Jane discover drugs, rock-n-roll, and sex–with each other. But the combination of gossip, fame, and drugs is more than a new threesome can handle.

Years later, Stu is in trouble and the three come together to support him. They rediscover each other and their need for each other, but the damage they inflicted on each other may already be too much to overcome. Can their circle of three be more than sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll?

Sex, Drugs and good ‘ole Rock’n Roll. For these three young suburbanites, this is the ride of a lifetime. The 70’s were a time where you jumped in feet first without asking questions and just didn’t care about the consequences. If you want a look behind the scenes of an up and coming rock band than this is the book for you.

I didn’t really know what to expect from this book. At times it lulled a bit but those lulling points lead to a better understanding of the group of characters on a whole. These three characters, Jim, Jane and Stu couldn’t have been more ill matched for each other but they were exactly what each other needed. Without Stu, Jim wouldn’t have probably gotten out of the situation at home and met Jane. And without Jane, Jim wouldn’t have been able to open up about his sexuality. The idea that they made great music together during this time only added to the mix that eventually led to a crash and burn for them all. However, web sites where email addresses are posted have threatened legal action against anyone that harvests email get viagra prescription addresses from their site and uses them to build spam lists. Stu was the leader of this little gang, and from the beginning knew that he was never like the other two but they were the best things that ever happened to him. He was the “dark angel” or “devil” tempting these two kids from the right side of the tracks. But he was also the engine that lead to the place where they could be exactly who they needed and uncover everything about themselves. The essential bad boy, he was the key that opened the lock door inside both Jim and Jane.

Jane, was the quiet reserved one that fed off the power she got on stage. She was the missing piece that brought Jim and Stu together making a sort of family when none of them had that on their own. She was also the level- headed one that made sure to think all things through before jumping. But she was also hiding a part of herself from both these men, something that only could be reveled with the two of them together.

Jim, in the end, was the glue that held them all together. He was the one they both loved and wanted to be with. He was also the most damaged and in his eyes the most unworthy of anything. Even thought he was the glue that kept this team together it was probably longer than they could stand. In the end it imploded the relationship between them all.

This was a memoir of sorts, as all three of them remembered it, and how their lives all became intertwined and the effects that life, relationships, sex and rock n roll had on all of them. A great story all around with enough meat to it that it was very hard to put the book down at the last page.

When Maxwell, a Depression-era artist, spurns the attentions of his sponsor, he ends up cursed to live out eternity in a painting. The man who cursed him delighted in playing the exhibitionist for Maxwell, and by the time the old man dies, Maxwell longs for his life and body back but he’s pretty sure he never wants to watch anyone have sex ever again. Until he discovers who his new owner is.

Tyler isn’t sure what to do with a life-sized painting of a nude man, but it was a gift from his sister to ease the pain of a disastrous break up and subsequent coming out. The gorgeous subject of the painting disappeared without a trace decades ago, rumored to have been killed by the painting’s previous owner in a jealous rage.

Becoming more and more fascinated by the man in his painting, Tyler uses his resources as a history professor to solve the mystery of Maxwell’s disappearance. He finds himself spending more time in his bedroom, talking to the painting, researching, and aching to know the man in person. Meanwhile, Maxwell falls under Tyler’s sweet spell, even though the thickness of canvas might be an insurmountable barrier to cross.

No one ever expects to find the love of their life right under their nose, let alone hanging in a painting on their wall. Trompe L’oeil gripped me from beginning to end with its intriguing love story that will have me looking at paintings in a whole new light.

Tyler Williams is a man who has been dealt some hard blows. He found out his boyfriend of the past year is a lying, cheating jerk and his parents can’t accept that he is gay. He decides it’s time for a change and moves to a new apartment to start fresh. Tyler has a good support system in his sister Mandy and his best friend Craig. They stay by his side through thick and thin. Mandy does her best to try and cheer her brother up by giving him a nude portrait of a very attractive man. From the instant Tyler see’s the painting he becomes obsessed with the man whose likeness it’s supposed to portray.

The painting at first appears to be just that a painting, nothing more. But this painting is special, it has Max Friedland trapped inside. Max lived over eighty years ago and was placed there against his will because he denied the advances of man he despised. For decades he was forced to watch and listen to the cruelties of his imprisoner without any hope of escape. He starts to feel a little hope when he sees his new owner, Tyler. Tyler is unlike any of the men he has seen before. He treats Max as if he is more than just a painting on the wall.

Tyler’s love for a good mystery sends him on a journey into finding out what exactly happened to Max Friedland. What he discovers is more questions than answers.

Max and Tyler have lived in different times but suffer the same disappointments and losses. The author did an excellent job describing the sadness and loneliness each character felt no matter what time period they lived in.

This story had its lighter moments as well with Mandy’s overprotectiveness and quick witted humor when interacting with Tyler. The dialogue shared between these two was funny and help lighten the mood of the story. There is also Tyler’s failed attempt of engaging in a one night stand and a blind date set up by his best friend’s mom. These things put a smile on my face and helped offset the balance of the sadness revolving around the story line of Max and his confinement.

Trompe L’oeil was truly a fascinating read. I was chomping at the bit with every page I turned hoping Tyler would discover the truth about Max and find a way to set him free. And I must say the ending was definitely worth the wait. To say it was magical wouldn’t do it justice.

If you’re a reader who likes to go on a trip through time and have a penchant for unsolved mysteries, this is a must read.

Mac MacAllistre is obsessed; the online news reporter needs enough evidence to write a story accusing billionaire art collector Daniel Terrebone of stealing The Golden Dancer, a priceless work of art, from son-of-a-Nazi Horst Von Berg. The story promises the recognition Mac craves, but then Mac meets a real golden dancer, ballet star Trelain Medveyev, and his attraction to the man rocks his formerly straight world.

When the mysterious Terrebone “collects” this beautiful dancer, too, Mac rushes to the rescue like a knight in shining cargo pants and plunges into a three-way passion that tears him between love and guilt. Can Mac keep investigating when his story could send one man to prison and another to the morgue? Will this reporter get his story or get his men?

“He couldn’t look away or stop doing the thing making that serpent rise.”

Whoa, momma! This book is hot. The heat comes from a well thought out plot, and an author who has a crazy sense of humor that made it impossible to put the book down until the end. The story is built around three men, a news reporter MacKenzie MacAllister (Mac Mac) and so-called straight man, Silver hair Daniel Terrebone, billionaire art collector and possible art thief, and Trelain Medveyev, a beautiful golden hair, gay Russian ballet dancer.

Ms. Lain has a way of bringing out the chemistry between the characters that both charmed and hypnotized me, and left me with a sense of peace and contentment when I was finished. Angry that he’d allowed a mere woman to take him hostage, Fyn Du-ket vows to turn the tables on his prim captor. As a skilled trainer of submissive slaves, he’d show her exactly how good it felt to be bad. Oh, yes, she succumbs, but there’s a slight hitch in the plan: he never realized he could become a slave. Locare wants revenge on this evil pirate for turning her sister into a submissive. She captures Fyn and makes him submit to her will. Now Fyn vows to get his revenge on her.

Honestly for me, Locare is far easier to like and relate to than Fyn is. While Locare is a strong minded woman with a deep heart and deeper yet loyalties, Fyn seems to be driven primarily by his need to obtain things: money, the submission of women, etc. Fyn was once in love and lost, and it made him hard and bitter. Much of their sex in the beginning involves deep discussion of what Fyn did sexually with Locare’s sister. There’s also an aspect of forced seduction. Some readers with delicate sensitivities may find these two aspects disconcerting. Yet both were entirely necessary to the plot.

And what a supercharged plot it is. There’s plenty of conflict here, never a boring moment in this story. There’s plenty of sexual heat here as well. The sex scenes are well written and definitely a battle of wills type of situation with strong emotional energy. Hot sex brings the Fyn and Locare closer and they fight their way in the erotic arena to a happy ending.

Pirate’s Slave is a hot, hard-driving romance that left me breathless. I highly recommend it.

But Shane’s never wanted anyone else more, and all the sex and alcohol in the world can’t fill the void Jesse left behind.

As his thirty-second birthday approaches, Shane’s more miserable than ever. Even the prospect of teaming up with Britain’s hottest band, Moonlight, for an epic world tour can’t get him out of his depressive funk. Until he meets lead singer, Kayden Berlin, and falls into instant lust.

Though Kayden acts like he’s not interested, Shane knows he feels the spark between them. The harder Shane pushes, the more Kayden pulls away. Then one explosive night things finally come to a head and Shane is left nursing a broken heart. That seems to be Shane’s lot — lucky at everything but love. In fact I recommend you ignore the prequels as they set up a very different vibe and relationship than the one presented in the novel. That’s part of the reason this story didn’t fully work for me but for any readers new to this tale, it’s a pretty familiar one of angst driven rockers bored with their success but shocked when someone doesn’t give in to their sexual advances. Here Shane is the typical apathetic rocker not looking to change his life so much as bored silly and can’t be bothered to continue drinking, drugging, and having random sex. It’s not a character evolution so much as laziness.

That laziness works for him eventually as Shane and Kayden hook up with a bit of a twist thrown in regarding their past. This isn’t a surprise twist and the story telegraphs it well in advance with the numerous flashbacks mixed with current day events. This technique is used decently but spells the story out very clearly without any attempt at subtly. You always know exactly where the story is going and why, so some readers may be bored. Those who don’t mind such predictability may like the somewhat comfortingly familiar rocker theme. It has a bit of angst, a bit of drama, lots of sex and tension to satisfy those that like such things.

Though I’m a fan of all those elements, this particular story never came together for me. The characters were predictable and two dimensional, and I never really connected with either one. The writing is okay but I had to work to keep my attention on the story and not skim or skip ahead. Reader tastes vary though and I can easily see this story being more satisfying for someone else. What’s worse, the sexual attraction between him and his prisoner is getting harder to ignore.

Johan Maier’s chance to regain his humanity is a dream come true. If he only he could get Corbin to trust him, they would have a chance at love. Yet, his vampire powers are getting stronger instead of weaker, his blood markers morphing into something that isn’t quite human.

As Corbin hunts the prince, Johan insists on aiding him. He secretly vows to protect Corbin even if it means his death.

“Babysitting a vampire wasn’t Corbin’s idea of a good time; he’d rather kill them.” I have always wondered if hate could really turn into love. Can two alpha men put aside their hate for each other and maybe find love?

I would recommend reading the first book in the series, Last Chance, because it will show just how Corbin Hamilton, a Kresnik warrior (Vampire slayer), ended up babysitting Johan, a bloodsucker.

I enjoyed reading Fighting Chance for many reasons. One of the main reasons was the battle between two alpha males – sworn enemies – who are trying to live under the same roof. Other aspects I liked are the unique and different twists contained in this story as compared to other vampire and slayer tales I’ve read in the past. I do love reading a tale where the happy ever after does not come easy. The two main characters are constantly fighting their attraction to each other in hopes of crushing any developing feelings while living together. It was really entertaining watching the banter between Corbin and Johan especially when they do things just to agitate the other. It left me chuckling.

However, there is a sweet side to both men that they let show in some of the scenes. It made it hard for me to decide which one to like the most. The heat and temptation the two fight against while in each other’s company made me laugh out loud a time or two. Watching them deal with the sexual frustration kept me on the edge of my chair throughout the book.

Don’t let this one pass you by if you’re looking for a well written paranormal romance where the fight to hide their attraction and growing feelings is a battle worth reading. This book definitely gives some brilliant new twists to an age old story, and a lot of sizzle to keep you turning the pages.

During his first visit to the fitness center, Tyler meets the sculpted and toned Cody Dawson, fitness instructor and sexy gay man. Not only does Cody help Tyler learn how to use the strength training equipment, but he crashes through Tyler’s fantasies and lures him into bed.

Just a passing fling, Tyler decides. Cody, after all, could get any number of better looking men without even trying. Besides, the summer doesn’t last forever and, too soon, Tyler will return to campus leaving Cody to the ex who wants him back. A summer fling can grow into something more, but it’s up to Tyler to recognize if it’s true love or just heated summer lust.

This is a book you shouldn’t judge by its cover, meaning the cover for Make You Sweat looks kind of like something you might see on the front of a comic book. This is a book I’m glad I didn’t pass up.

A touching sweet story of young love lay within the pages and had me falling in love with the story and the characters. Tyler Pierce is a college student who has come to spend the summer with his estranged father. He has high hopes of filling out his scrawny thin frame and becoming what he thinks other men find attractive. Tyler is a good guy but his lack of self-confidence has him questioning everything and everyone. He’s a character that most people could identify with and this author did a good job writing about a person’s insecurities that hold them back in life.

Tyler and Cody meet in the gym and Cody takes it upon himself to show Tyler the ins and outs of weight training. Besides being extremely attractive he’s also a trainer, so Tyler feels he’s hit his own personal lottery. Tyler is jaded and thinks that a man like Cody would never be interested in him. Within in just a few pages Cody shows Tyler how wrong he is.

A relationship begins but Tyler is only there for the summer so the constant doubts mixed with the inevitable is what stirs the main conflict in this story. Tyler’s constant insecurities about his body put a drain on this relationship but Cody is there to show Tyler he has so much to offer to another person, mainly to Cody.

There are a few conflicts in this story that keep it moving along, carrying the reader page to page. There’s Tyler’s low self-esteem, Cody’s ex-boyfriend trying to win him back, and Tyler still being in the closet regarding his sexual orientation where his family is concerned. This story doesn’t lack in the drama department and is written in a very realistic way that makes it believable.

I was really happy with the resolution of this story but it left me wanting more. These were two characters I became invested in and wanted to see where life takes them. Young love is always a fresh and sweet thing to read about and this story delivered. If you’re a reader who likes to read about the joys and struggles with meeting that first love, this is the story for you.

Do yourself a favor and pick a copy of Plus Ones. Mr. Edwards is a truly talented writer and I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve read from him so far. He’s an auto buy for this reviewer and an easy recommend.

Brian, a young transplant to Los Angeles, frequents the leather bars where he meets Paul, a big, tattooed, Harley riding leather daddy who introduces Brian to the ways of a sub. Brian is instantly smitten, but then Paul travels out of town on business leaving Brian in the dark about the status of their relationship. Enter Jim, a big nurturing “Momma Bear” who helps Brian deal with his loneliness. Coincidentally, it turns out, Jim is also one of Paul’s roommates and then Jim goes out of town as well, leaving Brian with a key and a request to water Jim’s plants in his absence.

Brian is doing just that when the third roommate, Scott, appears, an overly friendly little baby bear who snuggles up to Brian immediately. Soon Brian and Scott are sharing a ‘friends with bennies’ type relationship.

It all comes to a head when Paul and Jim return home and surprise Scott and Brian in bed together. Now Brian has to make some hard choices.

Can Brian find a place in this unusual household? One that’s just right?

How is one boy supposed to choose between three comfortable beds, and the sexy men that come with them? Brian meets leather daddy Paul late one night at a bar and soon they’re spending a lot of time together. Although he’s never met Paul’s roommates, Brian feels things could be getting serious. That is until Paul has to leave town for a few months with nothing settled between the two. Brian wanders the city hurt until he meets Jim and eventually Scott, Paul’s roommates. One by one they show him what he’s missing until a twist of fate puts all three men plus Brian in the same room. Now if only Brian knew what to do.

Goldilocks and His Three Bears is an adorable romance. It’s one that features multiple partners, which is not always a reader favorite. I would urge those readers to give this one a chance though as it’s pretty mild and a light hearted take on the subject. There are two main relationships that form over the course of the novella, Paul with Brian and Jim with Scott, then the four men come together for a group sex session at the end. While there are multiple partners, the story shows how each man adds something important to the mix. Paul is the Daddy Bear, the commanding one while Jim is the Momma Bear, the nurturing one. There is Scott, the fun loving one and Brian, the baby bear who bounces from the slightest bit of sugar. They come together as a loving family that just happens to love each other in a physical way as well.

One other important element is the mild BDSM portion. Brian and Paul are in a Daddy/boy relationship while Jim and Scott are more about control. It all works well though, and the story shows how and why the men get what they need from the various relationships. The sex depicted and BDSM elements are pretty mild and shouldn’t turn many readers away. In fact the sex feels natural and works well within the framework of the story. It shouldn’t shock or upset even unfamiliar readers. Instead the story feels full of love and joy between the men.

Goldilocks and His Three Bears is a very cute and very sweet romance. It’s got a few elements that may not be to some readers’ liking but it’s done in a very skillful way that engages readers. The great writing, cute men, hot sex scenes, and pure fun of the story make this a very easy novella to recommend. If you haven’t read this, do so now. It’s the perfect light summer read.
