Nick Radford is a reluctant werewolf who’s been fighting the Beast within for nearly 500 years. He’s never killed a human, but the Beast is gaining strength and Nick may not be able to ward off his inner demon much longer.

Kyla Yaeger is an elite were-hunter with a scarred past. Her life’s mission is to slay the werewolves that slaughtered her parents. Her quest has brought her to Maine, where she’s been summoned to destroy the werewolf terrorizing the quaint little village of Heavensent. The last thing she needs is to get distracted by her mysterious—not to mention hunky—new neighbor, Nick Radford.

By the time Kyla learns Nick is her target, she’s already fallen for him, making her task of killing him that much harder. She is torn between her love for him and her duty to kill her sworn enemy. Nick fights his forbidden love for Kyla, knowing she is duty-bound to kill him. Kyla and Nick must join forces to fight an even bigger threat—one that will destroy all humanity. Only by their combined powers, can they destroy the evil and bring an end to a centuries old curse.

Lust and vengeance, redemption and mayhem come to a head in this riveting read full of demons, wolves and one very determined heroine.

Kyla is a werewolf hunter who is closing in on her prey. She tracks him to this little tiny town in Maine but she gets a lot more than she bargained for. She’s also prone to visions but this time they’re freaking her out because they’re different than she’s ever experienced. I figured out long before she did why that was. A couple of characters drop hints here and there, but Kyla is so focused on the hunt and her own internal conflicts, she can’t see the forest for the trees. Her emotions are pulled like taffy in many directions but they seem to be heading in one direction. I thought she was a strong personality, dedicated and loyal to her friend and co-worker, Todd.

The hero, Nick, is Kyla’s focus. He confuses her and confounds her, with good reason. Nick is in jeopardy from more than the silver bullets that the heroine has in her arsenal. He has been fighting the good fight for centuries. He is noble, caring, determined and defines ‘tortured hero’. He’s given up hope and knows this town is his last stand. He is going to make things right and if he has to die to do so, he will. What’s not to like about a guy who believes himself irredeemable and a lost cause but will fight for justice until the bitter end?

The big stumbling block between the hero and heroine is trust. Neither trusts the other, nor do they have faith in their attraction. There are way too many inconsistencies to their having an easy relationship because there is so much they can’t or won’t tell the other. It’s a great plot conflict, actually. But I thought it went on a bit too long. Overdose may prompt harming so a control focus ought to be reached promptly, on the off purchasing viagra australia chance that you feel tension about it and would prefer not to let your accomplice or yourself down. It is normal http://cute-n-tiny.com/cute-animals/fishbowl-lightbulb/ cheap viagra without prescription to experience alteration in erectile functioning with growing age. It seemed like it was presented in different ways but it all came down to meaning the same thing. After awhile, I did not enjoy watching them not trust each other, because it let things happen that I felt could have been avoided to some degree. By the time they finally revealed all, it was almost too late, and I was doing a lot of eye-rolling at that part. I wanted to bop Kyla on the head and yell, “Wake up!”, “Get over yourself!” and she eventually does, but not without her making a few stupid moves.

Don’t think Kyla is too stupid to live, she isn’t. She is just overly cocky and I wish there had been someone to give her a reality check. Todd, her friend, wasn’t it. I found out why at the end of the book. Their relationship made a lot more sense after the revelation. Meanwhile, for all her extensive training and years of being the ultimate hunter, she was not impressive. Let me put it this way, if she was hunting a werewolf that was hunting me? I’d want back up.

There were other secondary characters that had serious impact on the telling of this tale. Some were notable and interesting, some were just plain creepy and one I had thought was part of the evil plot, but actually wasn’t. There are some nasty deaths and some nefarious and hedonistic descriptions so it’s pretty intense at times. It has some great suspense and drama with good emotional connections so I had a good time reading this book. I like a book with substance and this book certainly had enough to keep me entertained.

As for the physical side of things between Nick and Kyla, a reader is going to get an eyeful. Seems Ms. Kyla knows what to do with silk ties and bed posts. And Nick sure knows his way around a woman’s body, much to the heroine’s satisfaction. Those scenes were well written and placed to good effect in the book. The bedroom door is wide open so readers will have need of a nice glass of ice water to help them get through it. It was fun.

Cursed Mates has a lot within to appeal to romantic suspense readers who enjoy stories with paranormal flair. It entertains, astounds and even gives a few goose bumps along the way. I’m glad I had a chance to read this tale and am happy with the happily ever after. It’s wonderful to see a tortured hero find his happy and Nick certainly earned his. He was my favorite character.

After a vacation fling, a high school sex ed guidance counselor and a single father are forced to face each other in real life.

Having been the honor roll student, good girl in high school who got pregnant at sixteen, Cassie Finnerty knows what can happen if teens aren’t educated about safe sex. Her job is to counsel the students, answer their questions, and hand out condoms when requested.

Jake Lucas is a divorced, single father raising his almost sixteen-year-old daughter. When the contents of his daughter’s purse spill and condoms tumble out, he freaks out. After interrogating his daughter, he finds out she got the condoms at school, so he goes to confront the person who gave them to her and gets the surprise of his life.

What happens on a vacation fling stays on a vacation fling…..usually. Who would have thought after their hot and heavy encounter in the Bahamas that Cassie would ever see Luke again? What a surprise to see him in her office, quite upset about the way she handles teenagers and sex. Especially when his teenage daughter attends the school and has gone to Cassie to talk.

Even early on, I knew there was fiery attraction between Luke and Cassie, and their reunion wasn’t going to be easy. In fact, it was very dramatic. There’s a lot of things the two have to learn about the other, if only they could keep their hands off each other. If everything turns out good, then you buy cialis http://www.heritageihc.com/buy4037.html can re-order from them on regular basis. Could it be more than just a fling?

The pair has a lot at stake. What will Megan, Lucas’s daughter, think? And Kevin, Cassie’s son? How can Cassie keep work and play separate, considering that Megan has come to Cassie with private information, and Lucas shows a concern for his daughter’s behavior. There’s part of the strong conflict right there. And I knew that once things were found out, it would be explosive. That’s what makes for a dramatic romance!

The characters are fresh and exciting, full of life, and very believable. In this contemporary story, real life situations are played out with Lucas, Cassie, Megan, Kevin, and other secondary characters that each have their respective roles in the novel. Add in some hotter-than-fireworks attraction and the need to make the relationship work, and you have Misguided. It’s quirky, fun, but yet so down to earth. Readers can very easily relate to the happenings of this story, which is what makes a book stand out.

If you like your romances contemporary, with plenty of sizzling attraction, don’t let yourself get “misguided” about reading this book – it’s a great novel that shouldn’t be missed.

So when Jackson Savor wakes up next to the naked, sleeping beauty—with no memory of what happened—he knows he’s been drugged…even if Alani doesn’t.

And will the truth bring them closer than they ever thought possible—or put Alani squarely in harm’s way again?

Sex and danger, like high octane fuel, propel Alani Rivers and Jackson Savor along at breathtaking speed through a maze of lethal human traffickers that seek revenge, while a capricious whirlwind of raging hormones and testosterone keeps them off-balance with sexual desire and uncertainty about each other. WOW!

Twenty-four-year-old Alani still has nightmares about being taken by human traffickers. But knowing her brother Trace and his business associates keep watch over her has allowed her to feel secure enough to start her own interior decorating business. However, she has broken off a dating relationship with the rich, spoiled Marc Tobin because he wants more than just dating and she does not—at least not with him.

The gorgeous Jackson Savor with a beach-bum façade, a member of Trace’s organization, cannot keep his mind off Alani. Savor the Danger is the third book in the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series. It ratchets up the intense, hot, sexy action with Jackson and Alani and leaves the reader gasping at times. Some characters from the first two books and some new ones help the action race along. They sprinkle in humor that sparkles and also add back story and depth to this sexy love story.

Lori Foster’s pacing and edgy writing style revs up the adrenaline and only gives the reader mini-breathers before starting all over again. In one of the mini-breathers, the cat, Gremlin (Grim) slips into the story in true feline fashion and gets introduced to Liger, Trace and Molly’s huge cat — fun!

Ms. Foster’s skill in weaving interesting characters, smoldering love scenes, dangerous encounters, and humorous, loving events into an intriguing plot make Savor the Danger a page-turner that sizzles.

What’s a girl to do when her daily delivery ends in a vortex of passion and gunfire?

All Roux wanted was to bring Grandma her goodies and get out of there before the old lady planted a slug in her back. Unfortunately, her simple routine gets blown sky high when she stumbles onto a crime scene. To make matters worse, the only suspect is a very hunky and very naked Wolf who has decided to claim her as his mate.

Aldrich may be the most overbearing man Roux has ever met, but something about him warms her heart. No one who touches her as gently as he does could be a cold-blooded killer. Roux is determined to prove that, but the closer she gets to the truth the more she’ll wish she hadn’t. There are secrets in the town of Harmony, secrets that could tear her world apart.

This is a nice twist where the heroine and the wolf have a relationship on a whole new level.

Even though this tale is based on Little Red Riding Hood, I definitely caught nuances to Cinderella.

Roux is the quintessential good girl who helps everyone and who only wants to be loved and accepted by those she loves. For the most part she gets her wish, and it’s her very being that saves her life. But her life isn’t what she thought. In fact, one of her fondest memories ends up being a travesty because what a reader discovers later in the book truly shrivels the heart. At one point I felt bad for her and at other times I wanted to shake the heroine and make her wake up. Her life wasn’t normal but a person sees what they want to see and when they are desperate for recognition and affection, will rationalize anything. Good thing her best friend and cool secondary character, Mina, had a clear view of things.

Aldrich was a surprise. Oh my. His character was pretty set on what he wanted and what he had to do to obtain it from the moment he opened his intriguing eyes. I kind of liked his selflessness even though it was balanced with his need to have his own way, any way he wanted, and what he wanted was Roux. Those were pretty hot encounters to rival a chili pepper. Affected men can purchase djpaulkom.tv levitra sale the pills online and make deliveries from their stores. Whenever you ask the Universe order cheap viagra for something, anything…it is much more likely to say YES to it. Strife and dissatisfaction in an intimate relationship can leave a official pharmacy shop cheapest viagra professional negative impact on the life of the patient and can deteriorate his personal and professional life causing low self-esteem and lack of confidence. It comprises sildenafil citrate, which was earlier introduced to treat free generic cialis increase in blood pressure. I enjoyed Aldrich a lot.

I was a bit perplexed on how easily Roux got carried away with passion after her discovery of Grandma. I was also a bit annoyed with her because she turned into a Fay Wray type character. Aldrich deserved better. I am glad to report that Roux does eventually find a spine and uses it to stand up to the bad guy. I have to admit that Ms. Gooden did a great job on the villain. He was a total whack job and he creeped me out. I rubbed my hands with glee when I read Roux’s suggestion for his punishment. Oh, yes, the heroine has an inner vixen and she flexed her little claws. I liked that. I think the funniest moment in the entire story was when Roux made a big plant turn colors. I laughed out loud at that part.

I enjoyed Mina and her brother, Ulric, and the Hunters were a good dramatic touch. The editing was clean and the writing was entertaining with a nice romantic wrap up at the end.

The Big Bad is a quick, entertaining romance with a unique and spicy twist on the tale of Red Riding Hood that we grew up with. I enjoyed how the author brought it up into the contemporary time period and the role of the red cape. And since roux means red in French, I had to smile at the author’s cleverness. This is a cute book that I’m glad I spent time with. It had its moments of genius and it was a delightful experience.

No matter how far and how fast you run, the truth is never far behind.

CIA counter-terrorism expert Manuel Ramirez has spent the last three years looking for the woman he loves, who disappeared without a trace while on a post-graduate trip to France.

Then, as suddenly as she disappeared, Jules Trehan turns up in a small-town Colorado hospital bed, injured in an explosion that killed her parents. Manny is shocked by the change in the woman he once knew. Kidnapped by a shadowy organization, Jules has been forced to become the very thing he’s pledged his life to defeat—a terrorist assassin.

Knowing her testimony will finally bring down the organization, Manny races to get her to Washington, D.C. in one piece. Just when there’s a glimmer of hope of overcoming her past, Jules must pull off one last job or Manny’s life will be forfeit. It’s a mission she must complete…even if it means betraying the only man she has ever loved.

No matter how long you run, or how far you go, the one thing that never fails is that the past will catch up with you. If you run from someone determined enough, they will find you. And after three years, Manny finally found Jules. What can be done when the one she harbors feelings for is on the opposite side of the law as she is? It brings trouble, and lots of it.

Who is Jules? The question haunted me as I read this story. She appears in the book and left me with many questions regarding the secrecy of where she’d been and what she’d been doing in the past three years. She’d been running from something, that much is obvious, and Manny thought he’d never see her again. These male sex pills can increase libido, endurance and sex on sale here cheap levitra drive. One by one, the answers are revealed, and the action starts. Dodging bullets, staying ahead of danger which Jules seems to have been a part of at one time. Her determination to keep people out of her life (and safe) begins to crumble when she realizes Manny is in it for the long haul. The pair are strong, dynamic characters that stand out. Their qualities are the kind one would seek in a romance novel.

Long Road Home is an adventurous romantic suspense novel. The plot moves quickly, and I never knew what would happen next. There’s hardly a dull moment in the story. I was breathless as If I were running with them, literally sitting at the edge of my seat, anticipating the next move. I have the confidence in knowing that when I pick up a Maya Banks book, it’s going to lure me in right away, and sure enough, Long Road Home does just that. The love scenes aren’t nearly as intense as most of her other works, but they are definitely there.

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

For a thousand years she has haunted him—Ariana, Queen of the linas, a beauty of mist and light. His love, his life mate . . . Kougar believed her lost to him forever, until the truth of her stunning betrayal left him bitter and hungry for revenge. Now she alone holds the power to save two trapped and desperate Feral Warriors.

Ariana, caught in a deadly battle of her own, is neither the soulless creature Kougar believes her to be nor the savior he seeks.

And when darkness threatens to annihilate both races, the greatest danger of all becomes the glorious love Kougar and Ariana once shared. A love that must never rise again. A love that has never died.

When a reader is in the mood for a gripping and suspenseful read on the dark side, where the hero and heroines have to be strong because the villains seem stronger, then this book delivers with nail biting intensity.

Hunger Untamed is the latest adventure that follows the Feral Warriors – men with animal spirits who guard the unsuspecting human population from an unspeakable evil. Their world is harsh, violent and blood flows freely. The bad guys are a tragedy because they weren’t always this twisted and bent. There’s another force trying to break free into our world and it not only has corrupted people of magic and beauty and consumed their souls, it has destroyed families and lovers. The only thing that stands in its way is the Feral Warriors.

That’s a lot of pressure and stress to place on someone’s shoulders. There’s been four Feral Warriors that have found their happily ever after for now, so far. I say that they have a HEAFN because their lives are always on the line; danger stalks them at every turn, so love and tenderness, sentimentality and passion are treasured gifts that possibly could be taken away at a moment’s notice. That is where this book picks up. In the last book, two of the warriors are caught in a trap set by the corrupted mages – magical people who are tied to the earth. It would be helpful for readers to have read the previous books but by no means mandatory. Ms. Palmer presents enough information for a reader by the emotions and actions of the characters within the story, and through internal and external dialogue so what is at stake and who can be hurt by the current conflict is clear and concise.

In Hunger Untamed, Kougar reunites in a bitter fashion with the absolute love of his life. There’s a ton of angst, anger, hurt and mistrust muddying the waters. Add to the potential loss of his brethren and Kougar’s a man on the edge, willing to do whatever he has to do save his brothers. But will that include forgiving the woman who betrayed him? That’s a tough call and one that seems an impossible task. The author allowed me to get into Kougar’s head a bit where none of the other characters seem to be able to. There are things that are hidden still, but I found out about the depth of his pain through the telling of the story. The fact that he survived what he has, that he didn’t go mentally loony as I know I would have, is a true testament to his courage, loyalty and honor. It describes the man that he is and he fits my description of a tortured hero.

Ariana is a warrior queen who, unbeknownst to Kougar, has had to carry a burden of equal severity for a thousand years. Her loss is a tragedy itself. Her fears are real and she’s haunted, tormented and on the run. She’s a woman of great beauty inside and out with a fierce loyalty and dedication to those in her care. In amerikabulteni.com cialis without prescription relation to infants, having the young children to bed eventually can actually complete a dissimilarity. It offers effective cure for low libido, cialis purchase impotency and erectile dysfunction. She’s paid the ultimate sacrifice by losing Kougar the first time, but to lose him again will kill her. Talk about drama and emotional connection. This book has it all.

What shines through is the love the hero and heroine truly have for each other. It should have died because of all the lies and deception but true love, the kind that weathers the storms and brings strength out of chaos, never dies – it just gets sidelined for a bit. Their love is battle-born and stronger for it, much to my fascination. As harsh and cruel as things seem to get, I still found hints that gave me hope that had me rooting for their love to conquer all.

Like all good books, heroes and heroines need a little bit of help from their friends. Secondary characters abound. Again, although most are from the previous stories, I don’t believe readers will get lost. If anything, it might intrigue them enough to read the previous adventures in the series. Roar is really cool and I enjoyed his tale. Ms. Palmer is great with tortured heroes and every one of them fits the bill to one degree or another. There’s even a secondary thread that I think might be a curveball. Although it seems resolved, with Wulfe and Natalie, I somehow don’t think so. When you read this book, keep an eye out for that part and how Wulfe reacts; it could be my wishful imagination, but I don’t think so. Then again, the author never seems to do what I expect of her. Half the fun is the surprises she throws at me.

I do have to warn readers about some of the violence. There’s this one part that really grossed me out. It wasn’t gratuitous and it wasn’t arbitrary and it turns out to be the only course of action that would have worked. What I’d like to know is how in the world Ms. Palmer even imagined such a thing in the first place. Didn’t it give her nightmares? Feel me shudder.

A different kind of shuddering goes on when Kougar and Ariana succumb to their passion and explore their physical love. It’s scorching and worthy of a cold shower. Or two. Kougar sure knows how to please a woman and Ms. Palmer sure knows how to write all about it.

Hunger Unleashed will grip a reader’s imagination, heart and emotions. I wanted to rail against the injustice of it all and kick the bad guys into the next worm hole for daring to mess with my favorite guys’ happiness. All the Feral Warriors deserve their happily ever after and Kougar’s story is one that satisfies on many levels. Now, I’m chomping at the bit for who is next because every one of those hot and hunky men has a story to tell and a woman to find. Readers who enjoy the talents of J. R. Ward will find much to enjoy in the Feral Warriors series – the men are just as charismatic and alpha as one could wish, tempered with the ability to love a woman senseless. What more can a reader ask for?

For her own safety, modern day, single mom, Lizzy McAllister is forced to bow to the medieval men who surround her when she’s thrust back in time to the sixteenth century against her will. When Lizzie finds herself trapped in time with Fin, the one man she finds both irresistible and maddening, she agrees to combine forces with him to rid Scotland of the evil witch, Grainna.

Finlay MacCoinnich’s attraction to Lizzie sizzles the very air they breathe. Tearing down the solid walls the woman has built around her won’t be easy, but he’s willing to do anything to keep her by his side. When a spell cast by their deadliest foe throws them forward in time, will they manage to find their way back in time to save their family from peril? And will Lizzy willingly stay in his time, or abandon him altogether?

Apparently book three in a time-travel trilogy, this story appears to be the consummation of a battle between good and evil.

While the book frequently references events which occurred in previous books (Stephen’s kidnapping, Tara’s disappearance into the 15th century), I was able to read enough included background that I did not feel I was missing any information.

The book opens with everyone in the 15th century. The four people from the 21st century have connected themselves to the MacCoinnich family. While this story chronicles the end of the family’s charge to finish the war with the witch, Grainna, it is also the love story between Liz and Fin.

There is plenty of sizzle between them. True to many great story romances, the initial interactions in this volume are tempestuous. These interactions include kickboxing, verbal arguments, and literal playing with fire. In true romance fashion, “everyone” knows they “should be together”, except, of course, them.

Through the manipulation of Grainna, Liz and Fin are sent to the 21st century. Further the brokers increased levitra soft to 250. While grateful for a hot shower as well as a mattress and box spring, Liz is separated from her son. This starts Liz and Fin on their quest to return to the 15th century.

With the help of author and 21st century druid, Selma Mayfair, Liz and Fin navigate the pitfalls of Liz being declared missing, Todd’s police partner’s suspicion of Fin, and the problems surrounding time travel.
The battle between Grainna and the druids is suspenseful and well-detailed. It is nice to see the women take a leadership role in the battle. The story points out that this would not be how the typical 15th century woman acts, and how the main female characters circumvent this.

This does remain a romance, despite the warcraft, practice and use of Druid powers, and time shifting. Expect and enjoy the love scenes and sexual tension between all of the couples, not just Liz and Fin. Although formulaic in the plot, there is plenty of sizzle, multiple twists and turns (thanks to the time travel aspect), and of course, the epic battle!

Reading the first two books in the series might make this book a bit easier to read, however, I found the book thoroughly enjoyable, even without doing so. (although I do now want to read the first two!)

One caveat for the reader: leave a large chunk of free time when you start reading this book. You won’t want to put it down!

And when she and her sisters begin their singing, she is horrifed when one man doesn’t fall under her spell. Not that he doesn’t want her, because he sure does. But somehow, he can control it, which completely baffles Nissa. What a riot Nissa is! She is so naïve to the ways of the human, and what a wild fun ride it was to read about her helping Peter and learning the ways of the human world. The author does a fantastic job with this paranormal/fantasy, showing the reader how two beings from completely different worlds collide and become one.

Curiosity of why Peter is immune to Nissa’s siren charm kept me turning the pages, desperate for answers. When Nissa joins Peter on a treasure hunt, she is lost and afraid, being away from her home world in the waters and learning to do things the human way. She’s not used to sleeping in a bed, where fears she will suffocate is one of the things she must overcome. And every chance she gets, she tries to win Peter over, but each time, he gets angrier and more defiant.

With the action and suspense heightened, this book really has the elements of an amazing cross-genre story. Be aware that Siren’s Serenade is Book two in the McFey Treasures series. I have yet to read the first one, but after how enjoyable this story was, I will be on the hunt for the other book. Nissa and Peter were hot, hot, hot together!

If you enjoy adventure, sizzling sexual tension, paranormal beings, and a love story that has a shot of being hotter than fireworks, then take a chance, and let this story enchant you with it’s song.

Possessing an unusual combination of shyness and wildness, Rhiannon is the raven-haired daughter of a Welsh prince. Notorious for loving and leaving the most beautiful women in the realm, Simon is the handsome nobleman and youngest son of Lady Alinor of Roselynde.

When the two meet, romance sparks and burns into a love so strong that it endures battles, betrayals and their own fiery passions. While rebellion rages across medieval England and divided loyalties claim their hearts, they risk everything for eternal love.

Rhiannon wants NO husband. She wants to be free in her beloved Wales, free to coax the animals to her, to revel in the mists and the wind, roam the hills, use her knowledge of healing, and always be able to come and go as she pleases. She sings to the Winds of Dina Emrys, winds that terrify most people. They answer her. She is desired by many but her father, Prince Llewelyn freely admits to Simon of the influential Roselynde family in England that those who reach to have and hold her get their fingers burned. Llewelyn gives Simon his blessing to pursue her but warns that she is a law unto herself.

Simon holds properties in Wales and is a vassal of Llewelyn’s. He likes the Welsh style of life and of war. Young, wild, and a lover of the ladies — many of whom vie for his attention everywhere he goes, for he is a ‘beautiful’ man. Unlike most of his family, he is not political but is adept at war strategy in Welsh country. However, all his interests dim in the light of his interest in the elusive Rhiannon, who wants his beautiful body but fears his wish to marry her. His being the pursuer rather than the ‘pursuee’ is a new experience for him and his frustration and desires mount. He realizes she is always in his mind and heart even though she ran from him saying he is dangerous to her heart and soul.

Math, Rhiannon’s cat, adds humor and a hint of witchery. Precisely see this link cialis pill cost what many of us accomplish is certainly make an effort to grin as well as deal with whatever distress we experience with the aspiration which will almost everything can be great quickly. He is one smart cat — love him.

Other characters like Rhiannon’s mother Kieva march to a different drum than most. She is unique and in her own way just as independent as her daughter. Of course, the Roselynde characters are strong-willed, opinionated, intelligent, and steeped in the political intrigues that keep England a seething hotbed of unrest. If you’ve read other Roselynde Chronicles books, you will love catching up with old acquaintance. If you have not, you’ll find some delightful, compelling characters that will probably send you looking for their stories in earlier Roselynde Chronicles books. Strong women with men who love them make for captivating stories that are full of emotion and intelligent outmaneuvering enemies.

Medieval England of which author Roberta Gellis writes is a turbulent time when one of the King Henrys is strongly lead by the Bishop of Winchester who urges the young king to seek absolute power without regard to the Magna Carta that was so hard won earlier. The underhanded dealings are rampant and threaten to create an all-out war that would devastate the country. Ms. Gellis makes history a lot more interesting than my college professor did.

Of course, I longed for more love story with Rhiannon and Simon but I also enjoyed the court intrigues, battles strategies, just not as much as I did the magic of the love scenes with the hero and heroine. Through all the other events, my anticipation of Simon and Rhiannon finding their way to each other and realizing their ‘meant-to-be’ love kept me turning pages. The analogies and metaphors Ms. Gellis uses makes the story sparkle with life and makes the reader feel as if he or she is right there in the moment with the characters.
