The plane went down…and took their love with it.

All Brandon Barlow-Barrett wants is a week away from his family’s newspaper empire, time on the slopes to relax and refocus. What he gets is Lucy Cameron, the most extraordinary woman he’s ever met.

Lucy Cameron doesn’t take vacations. Not until now. Her very first vacation is full of highs–falling in love with Brandon Barrett–and lows–realizing she has to tell him she earns her living as a stripper.

But there’s no time to reveal her secret. On the way back from a day trip to a neighboring Colorado town, their plane’s engine sputters and stops. All they have left is the dangerous peaks of the mountains, a nearby lake for a crash-landing, and Brandon’s last-minute declaration of love.

How many days does it take two complete strangers to fall in love?

Attracted at first sight when he saw her boarding the plane, Brandon Barlow-Barrett was more than pleased that Lucy Cameron would be vacationing at the same destination. An experienced skier, Brandon jumped at the chance to offer his assistance to teach Lucy how to ski. The first lesson opens the door to their romance and Brandon offers more than ski lessons. He invites Lucy to lunch, dinner and dancing. At first Lucy is hesitant but soon accepts his offers.

To be honest I really didn’t feel the sparks and love between Lucy and Brandon in the beginning. It felt more of a combination of lust and sexual appeal a love connection. Brandon withheld his family heritage and financial status. Lucy withheld her occupation. I would have liked for Lucy and Brandon’s romance to have lasted longer. After reading the book I realized the author was creating room for their love to grow. During the short time spent on the island, Brandon really knew how to win Lucy’s attention and trust. A dream come true for any woman to meet a handsome stranger where day and night, the two share extravagant lunches, dinner and dancing. Lucy not only got hands on ski training but a whole lot more than the vacation had to offer.

On the fourth day Brandon surprises Lucy with an outing aboard a small plane to go see a museum. On their way back to the ski resort the plane goes down. The pilot doesn’t make it and Brandon is injured and unconscious. Lucy survives with minimal injuries and is able to pull Brandon almost a mile in knee deep snow to safety. Once Lucy finds shelter, she goes into survivor mode and starts planning for their rescue. I was happy that Lucy was no girlie-girl and was able to handle being stranded, no sign of help coming and dealing with an injured man. She held it together well and planned like she had been trained for this type of situation. I would have liked to read more about them being stranded, if only to add some adventure. Even though Brandon couldn’t remember meeting Lucy due to his head injury this would have been an ideal time for them to really bond.

Once they were rescued Brandon’s hyphenated (Barlow-Barrett) upper class family flew to his aide. Due to his memory loss, Brandon is left with the mystery of who was the lady that saved him and why did she leave without being acknowledged as a hero. Meanwhile, Lucy is going through the motions and trying to get back to her life until she sees Brandon again. What happens next is what really made this book a true romance. It was the best ending for Brandon and Lucy’s story.

I did enjoy the novel. It was written so that you could move along each descriptive scene after the other with a full image of what the author detailed so proficiently in her well thought out plot. If you like your romance to have a slow but meaningful build, some real-life tension and issues and an HEA that is truly earned, you might enjoy Remember Me.

She can’t shift, but she can shake their world.

Caroline Bradley is having one hell of a week. Her wolf lover has sniffed out his mate, making her an instant free agent. Not only that, Takhini territory has been overrun with aggressive bear-shifters electing a clan leader, and the wolf pack is feeling the effects—pushing her diplomatic skills to the limit.

Tyler Harrison is a grizzly on a mission. If he’s going to win the majority of the bears’ votes, he needs one final thing: a female companion. The only woman in town with influence over wolves, humans, and more bears than he’d like to admit, is Caroline.

Despite the sexual pull between them, though, Tyler’s not seeking a permanent relationship. And Caroline isn’t looking to be anyone else’s political pawn. But she should have remembered that when shifters are involved, changes happen in the blink of an eye.

Therefore, men should pay more attention toward preventing and get cialis cheap treatment of high blood cholesterol. Diamond Dust is a very exciting and sexy book and I had a lot of fun reading it.

The story opened with the Bear Jamboree coming to the town of Whitehorse, Alaska to elect a leader. It’s a volatile situation mixing the two shifter breeds, wolf and bear, so there was lots of action in this one. Grizzly shifter, Tyler Harrison needs a helping hand to win the election and the indomitable Caroline Bradley is just the woman for the job. She’s a free agent now, since her alpha lover, Evan , is hot on the trail of his mate.

Tyler and Caroline start giving off sparks the first time they meet. I got quite a few chuckles out of the story as Tyler made a mess of things and Caroline proceeded to teach him a few lessons. Caro had been around shifters all her life and she sure knew how to handle herself. So it came as no surprise to me when all those troublemaking bears suddenly wanted a piece of her.

I’d just like to say that, as a fan of this series, I liked that Caroline finally got her story. I’ve long been fascinated by her character, a woman strong enough to lead those bumbling alpha shifters around by their noses. I loved how the writer showed her vulnerabilities as well as her strengths and that was the part I enjoyed the most.

I had a lot of fun reading this book. It was extremely well written, and the dialogue was warm and witty. I found myself smiling more and more as I read along. I really liked the characters and they seemed perfect for each other. I totally bought their romantic relationship. The love scenes were titillating, nearly bordering on erotic. I really enjoyed that a lot cause I do like a sexy story.

So I loved this book and recommend it to all readers of paranormal romance. What’s up next for this series? Well, I am hoping that Evan will finally track down his elusive mate and I’m thinking that the writer may have given me a few glimpses into that as well. One can only hope. Whatever happens… I’m along for the ride.

What’s a duke to do, when the girl who’s perfectly wrong becomes the woman he can’t live without?

Griffin York, the Duke of Halford, has no desire to wed this season—or any season—but his diabolical mother abducts him to “Spinster Cove” and insists he select a bride from the ladies in residence. Griff decides to teach her a lesson that will end the marriage debate forever. He chooses the serving girl.

Overworked and struggling, Pauline Simms doesn’t dream about dukes. All she wants is to hang up her barmaid apron and open a bookshop. That dream becomes a possibility when an arrogant, sinfully attractive duke offers her a small fortune for a week’s employment. Her duties are simple: submit to his mother’s “duchess training”… and fail miserably.

But in London, Pauline isn’t a miserable failure. She’s a brave, quick-witted, beguiling failure—a woman who ignites Griff’s desire and soothes the darkness in his soul. Keeping Pauline by his side won’t be easy. Even if Society could accept a serving girl duchess—can a roguish duke convince a serving girl to trust him with her heart?

There is much to recommend a book that takes on an unconventional match, challenges the hero and heroine to find common ground and does it with a healthy dose of humor topped with a sweet touch of sentiment and respect. Throw in a few naughty shenanigans and this book entertains completely.

I had to rate this story as hot because of the role playing scene. I didn’t expect it. In fact, I really didn’t think the hero had it in him to be so spontaneous and delightfully wicked, never mind the fact that the heroine blossomed from such eye-popping attentions. Inasmuch as I found myself steaming under the collar, I was laughing too. The whole scene, as well as the scenes before and after certainly kept my attention riveted. It was well written, tight and very effective. If it weren’t, it wouldn’t have been hot.

The very first thing that tickled my funny bone happened right in the beginning with the ankles. That faux pas was just a hint of the kind of mix-ups and silly hijinks the hero is going to have to deal with throughout the book. Griff is a fun hero. His mother laments that he’ll never make her a grandmother. The reason why he’s against marriage and having kids is what gives him depth and allowed me to feel like he was a perfect hero for Pauline. He has an internal conflict that squeezed my heart. Poor Griff. It will take an unconventional woman to get past the barricades he’s erected around his heart.

Pauline is as unique, unconventional and independent as they come. Her circumstances are such that I was extremely glad Griff saved her. True, she’s saving him too, but once a reader understands the life she’s been forced to endure, the urge to see her not-so-fairytale dreams come true is strong. The heroine is a hard worker, loves her sister and is loyal to a fault. She’s the best and worst thing that could happen to Griff and I enjoyed watching her unravel him.

For a tough old biddy, Griff’s mom turns out to be delightful. I think it was her knitting that endeared her to me. Once I understood its significance, I wanted her to be happy too. Watching her trying to teach Pauline the finer points of high society was highly entertaining. Fans of My Fair Lady should find some delightful correlations between the two; without the singing of course.

One of my favorite parts was the line drawn in the sand. The Griff that appeared in the beginning of the story is not the same Griff who squared off with his childhood pal. That was a turning point for him as a man and that’s when the happy ever after became more of a real possibility. It’s not smooth however, not by a long shot. Pauline throws Griff a curve that he never saw coming. Her inner strength allowed her to choose that step but it was hard to see it happen. Obviously, Ms. Dare knew the hero had a touch more growing to do before he deserved his full happily ever after.

Dialogue was a strong aspect of this tale. I love the ‘flutterings’ and other fun euphemisms; they gave the story charm.

Any Duchess Will Do is saucy, sexy and a whole lot of fun. I enjoyed watching Griff and Pauline fall in love. Their ups and downs, plans and foibles and Griff’s tender and respectful handling of the heroine’s sister truly made this a wonderful read. The characters are written in wonderful detail with emotions, humor and memorable antics. The happily ever after is simply beautiful and full of good feelings and joy. I highly recommend this book.

Contemporary witch Cara Augustine is wanted by the Portalkind police. She broke a major covenant when she accidently made a werewolf her witch’s familiar. That crime is considered enslaving a human—and the punishment is death. But even on the run as a fugitive, she quickly learns a Synemancer’s life is never simple as she fends off an amorous Nephilim who has just learned he’s a powerful combination of half-angel and half-witch, a treacherous and deranged French werewolf who wants to enslave her, and the darkly handsome, formidable Nightkind who is determined to marry her. Each powerful supernatural man has his own reasons for wanting to possess Cara, body and soul, and nothing will stop them from pursuing her. In an effort to escape the Portalkind police, Cara and her companions stumble into another dimension and find themselves in a strange Garden of Eden. But they quickly discover that this dangerous world, filled with strange creatures that are both deadly and beautiful, is no paradise. Can Cara survive this world and find her way home? And if she does, will it only be to face her execution for a crime she didn’t mean to commit?

For a new twist on the paranormal genre, try Angel of Syn. I’ve never read a story with so many different paranormal beings, and hadn’t ever heard of a synemancer before. There’s a sexy nephilim, a super hot werewolf, and yummy Nightkind all fighting for Cara’s heart, soul and body.

From the first page this book is all go-go-go … excitement, action, danger. Don’t pick this up unless you don’t mind heart-pounding thrills. Cara finds herself in constant danger, sometimes her own fault, sometimes not (and once it includes a scene that some may find disturbing).

The characters are many, but are well drawn and easy to tell apart. This was the second book in a series, but it only took a couple of chapters for me to figure out what was going on and I didn’t feel overly lost. I’d suggest reading book one for a clearer idea of the overall story, but I read book two without it and still enjoyed what I read.

The author has a skill with words and kept me engaged. I wasn’t overly excited by Cara’s constantly revved up sex drive, and having three men after her (and having her attracted to all of them) was sometimes overwhelming. Still, Angel of Syn is a good read, and I’d recommend it to any fans of the genre.

Falling for the bad boy is even more dangerous the second time around.

The McLaughlins, Book 1

In high school Sarah fell for her best friend’s older brother—one of the sexy, Scottish McLaughlin boys. But a painful betrayal showed her she’d been a fool to give her heart to a bad boy. At least it made it easier to leave him and move halfway around the world when her Navy dad got stationed in Japan.

Eleven years later, the death of her grandmother has forced Sarah back to Whidbey Island for a month. It’s the length of time she must stay in her inherited house before she’s allowed to sell it, take the money and run. But when she sees Ian, bad as ever and still looking like sin on a stick, she can’t keep her mouth from watering.

One look at Sarah stirs up the regret lingering in Ian’s heart—and never-forgotten desire lingering in his body. He should walk away, especially since divorced single mothers aren’t his style. But when she starts showing up at his family’s pub, he can’t resist a little casual seduction for old time’s sake.

One thing quickly becomes clear, though. The heat between them is causing an avalanche of secrets and betrayal and nothing will ever be the same.

This red hot series is set on an island in the Puget Sound area. The players are a sinfully sexy family of transplanted Scots. I’ll take a hot Scot any way I can get them- gotta love a guy in a kilt- and this story played out well for me, keeping me on the edge and raptly attentive. No wandering interest on this one. No time for that… with all those wonderful characters and a big old secret just waiting to be let out. And blow up it did and I was glued to the pages for every minute of it.

Sarah came back to the island to tie up some family business. The last thing she needed was to run into her first love, bad boy Ian McLaughlin. He was her high school flame and her biggest temptation. She was a good girl who lost her heart to a bad boy. You know that old story. Then Ian broke her heart when he betrayed her just like her dad predicted. Sarah took off to Japan with the Navy family and hasn’t been back to the island since. A bad marriage behind her, she doesn’t want to get involved with Ian again.

I found out fast why Ian was the bad boy of the McLaughlin family. He really was… bad temper and bad habits for sure. He was into Sarah big time and wanted to be better for her. But alas, like the rebel he was, the boy broke her heart. Yeah, you can guess what he did. It was a nasty scene and it tore them apart. Ian did some hard time before he got his act together but now he’s in a good place. So now Sarah is back and he can’t help but act like a jerk. He’s still hurting and he gets pretty nasty with her. Can you see where this is leading ? It was some heady stuff indeed and I loved all that angst.

Sarah was a great heroine. I loved her to death ! She was vulnerable from having her life shattered by the men in her life. But she was strong, taking the crap that a pouting Ian dished out. She sucked it up cause she wanted to get out quick. Got a guess as to why ? Oh, she’s got a secret all right. It’s a big one just waiting to get out. Of course, it gets out and things get real emotional. Ian gets even angrier and so did I. I wanted to kick his butt for being so mean.

The story had an extensive cast of wonderful characters to build this series. A bunch of sexy brothers and a secretive minx of a sister. Emily, Sarah’s little girl, was a lovely addition to the story and she really brightened it up.  This story is completely character driven. They made the story engaging, made me want to know their secrets (they have a lot of them I’m thinking) and find out what was going on with them. An angry hero … a vulnerable heroine… and a past that comes between them. I got fighting mad at Ian but the guilt he felt when he learned about everything his woman went through from her douche bag ex… my heart just melted. I got that he felt it was all on him. You know… cause he drove her away and all. Another surprise and a big reveal as to the instigator behind the scenes.

That was good for a couple more surprises that cleared up some mistakes and revealed even more secrets. It also opened the door for another book. Could it be ? Can this series really get more intriguing ? Why yes, I do believe it will.

I loved this story and am already sold on the series. I can’t wait to read more. This one was engaging and chock full of angst. Lost love … that’s some good stuff. Everything flowed just right with things happening at a credible pace. This couple did not go after each other right away… not romantically any way. They were mad as hell and weren’t shy about letting it show. The characters were incredibly likeable. I completely fell for Ian and totally admired Sarah for standing up to him. The plot was interesting from beginning to end. The only flaw that I saw was that the writer didn’t go anywhere with regards to Ian’s old pal, the crook. I felt that she was going somewhere but it never happened. It wasn’t that big of a loss… but it could have brought some suspense to the whole story. It kinda looked like she started to take that road and then changed her mind. How’s this for descriptive talent ? When Ian calls Sarah doll and he says shite…. I was imagining that sexy Scottish accent. That’s some kinda talent.

The dark aura that McMaster creates permeates this work from start to finish. It is a combination of exquisite descriptions and delicious suspense along with small descriptors. You will imagine the pea-soup fog under the gaslights, feel the eerie cold rise off the cobblestones. My only complaint: some specific description bore a strong similarity to her earlier Kiss of Steel.

Heart of Iron takes us into an alternate world/history in nineteenth century London. Society is a far different realm than we might expect – unless we are already fans of Vampire-dom. Even then, few could imagine the realm McMaster here creates; where blue bloods feed on lesser classes, but the victims themselves can be dangerous.

It’s easy to say that this will certainly appeal to fans of the genre, however, I rather suspect that this will rate high on the list of anyone who enjoys a hot romance! Steampunk fans will also adore.

Falling asleep in a different bed every night has made it easy for Cain Black to forget his past. It’s been ten years since he packed his guitar and left Crystal Lake, Michigan, to chase his dreams. Now tragedy has forced him home again. And though Cain relishes the freedom of the road, one stolen moment with Maggie O’Rourke makes him wonder if he’s missing out on something bigger than fame.

But this book starts with the death of a hero, and somehow, the perceptions about what is really important, about friendships and people, remain true throughout. Both our main characters are tough enough to disregard opinion, and are nice enough people, individually, to see past a bunch of pointless gossip. There are, however, things one cannot ignore. A dark secret might end them after all…but the revelation is part of the story, and this is no spoiler!

I was intrigued at the start of this book. I sympathized with the small-town boy who no longer belongs, and admired the tough lady, making her own way. Events and the endlessly unexpected kept me turning the pages; as did the seduction scenes, which are amazingly intimate yet classily delivered. And by the end, you’ll see there are a number of ways to be a hero.

The Summer He Came Home is everything it should be, and meets every expectation. Fans of the contemporary romance will be delighted to discover the talented author, Juliana Stone: This book should go to the top of the must read pile.

When you’re the last man standing…

Not only was Logan Delaney the last of his siblings to remain unmarried and unsettled, his entire family believed he’d never find a wife. The baby of eight, he’s been dubbed an irresponsible player and told he’ll never amount to a hill of beans. And at one time, Logan may have been okay with those descriptions, but no more. On a quest to prove his worth, he’s spent the entire summer learning the family business, staying in at night, and saving his money. And if his family would stop meddling in his affairs and trying to dictate who he should and shouldn’t be seeing, he might just show them he’s found the one, Lizzy Jenkins.

And have a bad reputation to blame…

Elizabeth Jenkins had always known Logan Delaney existed, but he’d never so much as turned one glance her way until she handed him his butt on a silver platter in three sentences or less over the phone. After that it seemed at every turn there he was and the more she resisted the heat building between them, the bigger the fire got. Until his family interfered. And why wouldn’t they? Between Logan’s legacy and her baggage, they were a disaster in the making.

Family is the thread running through Lila Munro’s A Slower, Lower Leap. From the superficial to the depths of a large loving family the threads, like silks in a tapestry, weave off in different directions and into different hues, including the betrayal of family, is also a big part of this complex tale.

Snaring a reader’s attention from the get-go is the aim of all writers and Ms. Munro managed to do that here. Only by the end of the first chapter her hero Logan left me cold and disilusioned. She certainly achieved what she set out to do, but perhaps not in the manner she intended.Logan is beginning to fight his all-out loser reputation of someone who is full of resentment, not prepared to listen to advice and resents his family’s attempt to help him clean up his act. Only the fact that I agreed to review A Slower, Lower Leap persuaded me to continue. If this seems harsh, it is not meant to be. Every reader is different, and all reviews are nothing more than a personal opinion at that moment in time. So I read on and I’m glad I did. Seeing Logan through Lizzie’s eyes redeemed him to me a lot, and soon I was rooting for him too.

Ms. Munro has opted to set A Slower, Lower Leap around a special needs little boy, and it is a joy to see how Lizzie and Logan face the hoops of ‘growing up and maturing’ that she puts them through.

Yes, there are some editing issues of wrong words and typos but the strength of the author’s writing allowed me to overlook those and immerse myself in the story. The settings are strong, and for the most past the writing is fluid. The emotional impact is breath-taking and carried me to the end of the story.

The final conflict of all the characters is flagged early in the tale and well drawn out, culminating in a dramatic finale.

Ms. Munro’s A Slower, Lower Leap is not an easy or smooth read, but it catches at your heartstrings and doesn’t let go. Her heroine, Lizzie has a complex background with strings attached. Strings she can’t share with anyone if she wants to keep the one person that makes her life worthwhile. And yet family, in all its complex shades, is an integral part of Ms. Munro’s story and make for a long list of cast members.

For readers who enjoy family orientated romance, this is a book worth serious consideration.

Advertising for Love is a sexy ride that follows two successful adults. A caramel skined workaholic and a ten year experienced escort. Are the seductive sparks that fly between the two part of the Ebony Nights escort contract, or could they be real?

Aisha Anderson, is described by her best friend as being a workaholic, commitment-phobic, perfectionist, and in dire need of a date for the company’s upcoming black tie gala. With no prospect of a date, her best friend Tanya Roberts passes along a business card for an escort service. Aisha refuses to partake in this type service. But with so much riding on her to make sure she gets this promotion over her co-worker and rivalry Phil, she has to make an impression at the company’s event. So what’s a girl to do….pick up the phone and place her order for the perfect hot date.

Ebony Night’s contract entitles you to the company and conversation of one gentleman for the agreed upon time. Ebony Nights does not condone or encourage anything that goes beyond the boundaries of the contract. Well, once Aisha sets her eyes on Greg William’s perfect smile all her nervous fear about the ordeal of using an escort service vanishes.

The black tie event was a success! Does the evening end or does Aisha willingly take things beyond the boundaries of the contract? Greg introduces Aisha to his ‘two orgasm minimum rule’ and Aisha learns that not only can Greg cook in the bedroom, he is also a chef in the kitchen.

There are no lies or surprises; Aisha is well aware of Greg’s occupation. The question is can Aisha handle Greg’s profession?

I enjoyed this seductive novel and thought the author did a great job on the hot and steamy love scenes. Not only were the scenes hot but to have a handsome man able to please you in the bedroom and then have skills in the kitchen as well. Greg’s bedroom agenda consisted of anal play, oral pleasures and much more. Yes, this makes for a smoking hot read.

I like the fact that both individuals were successful. This brought more to the novel each having their own lives outside of the bedroom. The story flowed nicely and the added little twist in Aisha’s career helped make the story seem not so perfect.

If you are looking for some heat to warm you up I recommend Advertising for Love.

When is it real? When is it fantasy?

For Luna Kalen, the line between reality and a dream is hard to recognize.

Recovering from a car accident, the solitude at the coast is meant to be therapeutic. But Luna soon finds it more than her idle mind can handle.

After exploring a dangerous stretch of shoreline, Luna returns home with a mysterious man she discovers in a cave. Little does Luna know that this man is about to fill her world with sinful pleasures…and blood-thirsty vampires.

When reality and fantasy collide, unimaginable dangers lurk, revelations are revealed, and darkest desires are fulfilled. But if you think the happily ever after is the sign of the ending, it’s really only the beginning.

Should Luna have listened to the warning? Do not go into the cave.

Maya Deleina creates a descriptive tale in this journey between reality and fantasy.  Luna Kalen seems displaced and in a state of limbo from a prior car accident. While Luna is out on her secluded early morning stroll along the beach, curiosity gets the best of her and she ventures into a near by cave. What Luna finds in the cave will alter life as she knows it. All that she thought was a fantasy can turn out to be real. Or it could be the other way around.

Luna is a graphic design artist that just received great news from Renny Morgan, a author of a soon to be released vampire book. While driving to their destination the fog starts to roll in. Chapter one opens with Luna strolling along the shoreline just before sunrise, in her therapeutic ritual after the car accident. On this particular morning Luna’s interest is piqued by the caves near by that she has heard so much about. As she ventures into the cave she has a suspicion that someone is in there. She finds a dirty, nude mystery man. She allows the man to follow her to her bed and breakfast to clean up. Along the way she notices how handsome the mysterious man is.

Between Luna’s undiagnosed black outs and the unprotected rush to have sex with the handsome stranger I was left with a reminded that yes this is truly fantasy. This author has a talent for extraordinary details. The steamy sex scenes were visually appealing. At this point I was curious as to where the plot was headed. I kept reading to find out where the mystery would lead and would the plot pick up.

The introduction to the vampires were very descriptive and quite spooky. At times the details were gruesome as would be expected with a vampire novel. Something was missing in the plot of the vampire origination. Personally, it opened a lot of questions that didn’t seem to be answered. Characters were popping up out of the blue. At one point I was wondering if this was a sequel to a previous book. Maybe it was due to the fact that the vampire characters were briefly mentioned without much details or description to really get to know them. Although I know this is a work of fantasy, the author’s vampire section didn’t make much sense. I wanted to feel the vampire as something that could be believed as real. This wasn’t the case in this novel. The author’s approach was different and interesting so therefore I kept reading because I was interested in how this all was going to play out.

I thoroughly enjoyed the author’s writing style. She has a style that gives you enough details that the description of the surrounding elements make you feel you are there in the scenes. For a book to have very few characters, the author left little room to create in-depth character description. I didn’t connect with the characters, nor did I get a visual of how the characters would look. It was as if they only had names.

The brief epilogue did reveal the twist and helped clear up the cliff hanger left in the prologue. Overall the book is a nice combo of fantasy, sex and suspension.

If you enjoy a hot and steamy descriptive quick read, I definitely would recommend this book.
