For over a decade, a killer has been waiting, silent as death and . . .
GUILTY AS SIN

Fourteen years ago, Kate Beckett was a teenager more interested in summer romance than babysitting. Then the unthinkable happened: her younger brother was kidnapped and murdered on her watch. Now she is an advocate for missing children, and her newest case brings her back to the small town where she lost her brother-and where she left behind the first boy she ever loved.

Tommy Ibarra’s world fell apart after Kate broke his heart, and he’s spent his adult life making sure that he’ll never be vulnerable again. When a teenage girl vanishes, he offers his expertise as a high tech security expert to help find her. Although he’s determined to keep his distance from Kate, it isn’t long before he’s falling under her spell all over again.

Man is the best creature that has countless cialis on line abilities and can switch and adapt new innovations easily. The spa has also offered various offers to the customers. viagra france As they race against the clock, their investigation leads to a brutal killer with a shocking connection to Kate’s tragic past. And this time, the killer has Kate firmly in his sights.

This was one smoking hot suspense. I’ve seen it called “erotic romance” in a few places, but I wouldn’t go that far. Yes, there was sex and a whole lot of it, described in great detail, but it’s pretty vanilla and doesn’t stray into the territories the majority of erotic romance does these days.

Now let’s talk plot… first off, the beginning of this book which takes place fourteen years prior to the rest about broke my heart. The heroine’s father is a complete jerk and even up to the end of this book, I struggled to forgive him. He went out of his way to tear down his daughter and fill her with guilt, and also to destroy our hero before he was old enough to defend himself.

I had some issues with Tommy’s hatred of Kate — as if it were somehow her fault that her father was a creep. Yes, she didn’t defend Tommy when they were teens, but they were both very young and traumatized. I loved, LOVED, Tommy’s mother. What an amazing lady.

Ms. Alden really created some solid characters that I came to care about. Her writing is polished and flows nicely as well. The plot was good, though I wasn’t honestly surprised at the villain, it was still interesting to read through and follow our protagonists as they followed clues to rescue the kidnapped girl.

I admit that sometimes Kate and Tommy’s sex scenes seemed a bit out of place, almost as if they were able to forget there was a girl out there being held against her will and just give into their screaming hormones. I wish, too, that there had been just a little more tension and build up to the actual deed. Still, for folks who crave heat in their books, this one will certainly fit the bill.

This was my first foray into a story by Jami Alden. I was impressed by her skill, her creative ability and her fantastically real characters. Although the sex was a bit overwhelming at times, I still very much enjoyed the story and will be certain to check out more books from her in the future.

Love—and healing—can come from the most unexpected places…

Sensual Healing, Book 3

Still hurting physically and emotionally after a tragic car accident, Mia Nicholls has everything but love on her mind. Until quiet, sexy Colm Molony—a man who barely registered on her romantic radar—gives her a more-than-friends birthday kiss that really rings her bell.

The minute he laid eyes on Mia, Colm knew she was trouble, which is one reason he’s kept his distance. The other is that he’ll be leaving New Zealand to go back to Ireland at summer’s end. Yet when he touches Mia’s watch, his supernatural ability to sense others’ emotions kicks in, and his instinct to soothe her private pain overrides his intention to stay away.
This is totally a biological change viagra from canada that many young men experience an impotence lowering or slowing down of machinery. Why do you think that so many smart, attractive and successful women go out with viagra price such jerks and put up with their lies, mistreatment, B.S. and drama? It’s not the fact that the guy’s a jerk that they like, it’s the simple fact that most jerks are confident. Having a bad experience of sexual relationship, brings you purchase cialis without prescription in much stress, worries and depression. The antioxidant generic viagra activities of Glycyrrhiza glabra, Eugenia jambolana, Curcuma longa, Casearia esculenta, Asparagus racemosus, Tinospora cordifolia, Berberis aristata, Phyllanthus amarus, Swertia chirata, Aloe vera and Curcuma longa have contributory role in the production of semen in your body.
While away on a course together, talk leads to massage, then to a game of strip whist, culminating in a physical relationship that turns emotional faster than either expected. But when a shocking event threatens to upset Mia’s tenuous equilibrium, Colm must untangle himself from his own past before he can save her wounded heart from slipping beyond his reach.

Talking Sense is the third book in Serenity Woods’ Sensual Healing series, and takes place in the same New Zealand locations as the others. This is Mia’s book, the last of the three friends to find romance and happiness with just a bit of supernatural assistance. I love this world Ms. Woods has created, with real people and possibilities of something just a little more. The characters are charismatic and likeable, and the situations never feel contrived or unrealistic.

It has been a rough stretch of time for Mia Nicholls, after a devastating accident that has left her physically and emotionally wounded. She doesn’t feel she has the right to be happy or feel comfort, not when others died and she lived. As she watches her friends find happiness, she continues to punish herself. When the quiet exchange teacher from Ireland befriends her, he is able to ease some of her pain, but she still isn’t sure she is deserving of his attention. Colm Molony knows he has no business getting involved; he is only ‘down under’ for one year, and he has a hidden agenda behind his visit. But when he touches Mia’s watch, he realizes just how much pain she is in, and tries to use his special power to aid in easing her discomfort. When a relaxing massage to ease her pain becomes much more, both are surprised. But Colm came to find out if he could locate the father he never met, the man who left his mother without a word, and his senses lead him here, and he has to know. Can Colm let the past go and find happiness with Mia? Can Mia get over the emotional pain of causing the accident, even though she was never really at fault? Can these two wounded souls heal each other and find peace and happiness together?

Mia Nicholls is sensitive and caring, and can’t quite get past the event that changed her life so drastically. She refuses to accept help with her pain, feeling it is her burden to bear for what happened. Although she has been working at the same school as Colm, she never noticed before how caring and handsome he really is. When he befriends her, she is able to accept because she knows he will be leaving at the end of his term, and she doesn’t think she has anything to offer, long term. I loved watching as Mia was able to come to terms with the past and finally find the strength to move on with her life, whether Colm was in it or not.

Colm Molony is a quiet and gentle man, handsome and determined to follow the course he has set for himself; go to New Zealand, find the man who fathered him and left, and then return to his normal and quiet life in Ireland. He didn’t count on meeting someone like Mia, someone who could accept that he had something ‘extra’ to offer with his touch sensitivity. I enjoyed watching as Colm tried to resist what his heart wanted, and smiled as he learned what was important to him.

There are a couple of side threads here, the biggest one is the threat to Mia’s friend Grace, and how they are able to unite to help save the day. The supporting characters are Mia’s friends and the men they met in the first two books, and I enjoyed seeing how both couples were doing. And the passion Ms. Woods brings to Mia and Colm’s story is hot and sensual and heats the story nicely. I enjoyed that, in spite of the trials and the determination of the two main characters, love comes through and unites these two most deserving people.

Once upon a time, a writer woke up in the middle of her own book…

Hades’ Carnival, Book 3

Araminta Davenport has arrived. After giving up her librarian job to be a full-time writer, all those lonely nights alone with her cat and her keyboard have paid off. She’s been invited to participate in one of the biggest reader appreciation weekends—as a professional author.

She can’t imagine her life getting any more exciting than that…until she accidentally releases a sexy, shapeshifting, immortal warrior from a five-thousand-year-old curse.

Finally free of his carousel prison, lion shifter Leander is determined not to let Hades lure him to the dark side in a quest for world domination. Nor will he give the delectable Araminta up to the clutches of the dark one. If they can survive twenty-four hours—and somehow resist losing themselves completely in the sexual haze threatening to swallow them up—the curse will be permanently broken.

But the clock is ticking, the heat is rising…and only the ultimate sacrifice will save them both.

Pride of the Lion is the third installment of N.J. Walters’ short series, Hades’ Carnival. This is a wonderfully dark and intriguing world, with characters that are fully developed and multifaceted, with insecurities and flaws just like the rest of us. I do enjoy visiting Ms. Walters’ world, but I’m kind of glad I don’t actually live there all the time. It is a world where things aren’t always as they appear to be, and evil hides behind a pretty, or handsome, face. I love the legend she has incorporated, The Lady of the Beasts, and it sends my imagination into overdrive.

Araminta Davenport is absolutely thrilled to have been invited to participate in one of the biggest, most important reader appreciation weekends…as a professional writer. She gave up her day jobs, and feels that she is finally seeing some rewards for all her hard work. What Araminta doesn’t know is that there is someone orchestrating it all from behind the scenes; someone evil and looking toward his own agenda. When Araminta breaks the spell on the lion shifter, Leander, while on the carousel from Hades Carnival, she realizes that what she has been writing isn’t fiction at all; her most recent book follows what is happening to her in this life that has gone just a bit crazy all of a sudden. As for Leander, now that he is free, he is determined to stay that way, and keep both the lovely Araminta and himself out of Hades’ clutches for the next twenty-four hours. As Araminta and Leander grow closer, so do Hades and his minions, including the ever-mysterious Mordecai, one of the freed warriors who accepted Hades’ proposition. When they learn that the events from the first two books written by Araminta have actually occurred, they try to contact the other warriors for assistance. Can Leander keep Araminta safe and refuse Hades’ offer? What other secrets will be revealed as these two fight for their very souls? Will there be a happy ever after for Leander and Araminta, or will Hades finally succeed in his evil plans?

Araminta Davenport is smart, talented, and yet a bit shy and unassuming at first. When she begins to understand that Hades has tricked her, she begins to doubt her talent, and fears she has lost her mind at first. But as she gains a sense of what is happening, she is determined to help Leander resist Hades and his many lures and temptations. I liked Araminta’s quiet strength and determination, and her ability to accept what is happening without question. I liked watching as she grew closer to Leander, and was able to trick Hades as well.

Leander is an ancient warrior, a lion shifter and one of the beasts cursed by his Lady to protect him and his fellow warriors until the time was right for them to be awakened. Leander is strong, handsome and hot, and yet, he is also considerate and willing to listen to Araminta’s ideas. I like Leander for his loyalty and his ability to adapt to situations that are far beyond his knowledge at times.

There are some fantastic surprise twists in this book. I like that Ms. Walters was able to show that even Hades can make mistakes, and forget about some of his goals. There are some unexpected allies here, and I refuse to say any more about them now. Just be aware that all is not lost and nothing is as it seems at times. Of course, there is lots of hot and heavy action as well between Leander and Araminta; it wouldn’t be N.J. Walters without it. I am looking forward to the final episode in this passionate tale of good versus evil. Do Leander and Araminta survive their challenge? Now, that would be telling, and I think that it is better to read it for yourself.

What happens when a Wiccan high-priestess and three mischievous nymphs conjure spells on an environmentalist and a jet engine designer? Magic, mayhem, and wild nights of passion.

Justine Tori Cryst is to be initiated into Gaia’s universal coven. Problem is Justine must conjoin with a perfect soul-mate at the last stroke of midnight on her 29th birthday.

Shaun Kelly can’t believe his luck, or bad luck, when the woman who crushed his heart in college magically returns into his life. But crushed hearts mend. He still loves her. However, the chances of his rekindling their romance are zip because he’s certain Justine is hell-bent on putting the company he works for out of business permanently.

Unbeknownst to either, Justine’s goddess mother is determined to bring Shaun and Justine back together because Shaun has exactly what Justine needs to become the mother of the next generation of powerful little Wicca’s—his gene pool.

Tia Dani creates a magical world that uses potent sexual fairy dust against the backdrop of a modern world. Miniature pixies are guardian angels to Justine and manipulate her love life, and dreams, mischievously. But despite — or maybe because of — their interference, the sexual tension is thick, swelteringly so, and the dreams start a sexual adventure.

However, due to the need for Justine to conjoin with a soul-mate, the story focuses on sex and sexual activity, sometimes to the point at which it detracts from the plot. For instance, the first third of the book focuses on dreams and getting Justine and Shaun to fall for each other again but, due to the lack of instant action and reaction which comes from an environment in which the two actually meet, this section slows the pace of the novel. It also contributes to the feeling this story is more sexual than romantic. Despite this, the detailed description of their imagined meetings are very hot and would be a great addition to any bubble bath bookcase.

General description is also well executed. For example, a be-ribboned Elektra is immediately visual in the reader’s mind and portrays her character well. However, there are also instances where more can be made of description. There are also places description has perhaps gone too wild and so many colours are used that the narrative seems chaotic. For example, ‘the tiny faery readjusted the top to her maroon, short dress and then straightened her white tights with blue-violet hearts’; there are so many colours in this sentence, a reader can become lost in colour rather than what they are describing.

There was also an issue on a number of occasions when masturbation is referred to as ‘sex’, which jolted and disengaged me from the writing as I consider masturbation a lone activity while sex is a joint activity and therefore this word feels erroneous.

However, after the sexual dream, descriptions come to the point quicker and are more apt for the situation. Senses are also well used to create effect and the sexual encounters feel realistic but not overly intimate. This is also the point at which the plot picks up, the characters meet and the sparks fly. Due to this more direct conflict, the story becomes more interesting and the pages go by quicker to lead to the story’s climax.

The story is, in essence, two people in lust and love finally joining in the climax. The colourful ritual is full of well-meaning relatives with echoes of old ancestors. It is well-described and magical in more than just romantic ways. The paranormal aspect of their relationship now adds to the joining, potently and visually underlining the love between two people and providing a satisfactory conclusion.

In this mesmerizing new novel, Mingmei Yip draws readers deeper into the exotic world of 1930s Shanghai first explored in Skeleton Women, and into the lives of the unforgettable Camilla, Shadow, and Rainbow Chang.

When Shadow, a gifted, ambitious magician, competed with the beautiful Camilla for the affections of organized crime leader Master Lung, she almost lost everything. Hiding out in Hong Kong, performing in a run-down circus, Shadow has no idea that Camilla, too, is on the run with her lover, Jinying–Lung’s son.

Yet while Camilla and Shadow were once enemies, now their only hope of freedom lies in joining forces to eliminate the ruthless Big Brother Wang. Despite the danger, Shadow, Camilla, and Jinying return to Shanghai. Camilla also has her own secret agenda–she has heard a rumor that her son is alive. And in a city teeming with spies and rivals–including the vengeful Rainbow Chang–each battles for a future in a country on the verge of monumental change.

However, there is no peace for her when she knows she has left her husband behind and perhaps a baby. They told her it was stillborn, but the child comes to her in her dreams…

I read Skeleton Women by this author, which was the first half of Camilla’s story. I had been looking forward to seeing how she resolved all those open issues at the end of the first story. Ms. Yip did not disappoint me. Her words flow on the page like a river flows on its course. She uses her Asian knowledge to fill out the history of her story and it adds to the story content. The Chinese of the Triads are territorial, superstitious and totally ruthless. Their ultimate goal is to be in control of their territory and to kill anyone in their way. When Camilla set up a confrontation that ended up with one of the two Triad bosses being taken out of power, she left Shanghai. How was she to go back safely and get her family?

Camilla is an interesting character. She lost her parents when she was young, grew up in an orphanage and was trained to be a skeleton woman. That’s a beautiful woman that knows all the sexual tricks and can kill without a thought. That was how she lured the one man in and she slept with both him and his son. His son is her husband. She knows she may die by going back because the one who taught her all this is now the one in power. She believes in fate; if she dies, she dies. If she lives, it’s because she’s supposed to.

The author brings back her other old love in this book, also. He’s been a prisoner, but she helps him escape. I really like the depth Ms. Yip gives her main character. She’s loyal to those she loves, even when she’s conflicted over which one she loves the most. The author gives her hard decisions and somehow she makes the right ones.

There are magician tricks, the help of old friends and enemies, and Camilla’s bravery all involved in this story. I especially liked the ending. It’s the start of a new change for China as well as Camilla. This author made me feel like I was taking this journey myself. Camilla gets turned almost inside out as she learns the truth about things, but she persists and succeeds. Ms. Yip did an excellent job of writing this thriller and I’m going to add this book to my personal library. Why not get a copy?

I have to confess, this is my first forray into the works of Jade Lee. I know, I know, I should’ve picked up one of her books before now. I’ve remedied the situation with this book, What the Bride Wore. The writing simply flows and I couldn’t put the novel down. I felt like I was right there in London with Irene at the dress shop and Grant during his…issues. There is a bit of mystery woven through the book and it’s interesting how it all works out. You’ll have to read the book, though, to find out what exactly happens and when!

Irene is a great character. She’s strong, tough and knows what she wants. She’s also very congnizant of the Ton. It’s got to be hard being a widow and knowing people are scrutinizing your every move. I liked her pluck at wanting to have a job. I even rather enjoyed her in-laws. Much of the time these characters are shoved to the background and left very one-dimensional. Not in this book. There are some other secondary characters I’d love to read about. Wendy and Helaine come to mind. I loved them.

Grant…now there’s a tough nut to crack. Initially, I didn’t care for him as the hero. I understood the plot device Lee used, but there were times when it didn’t make sense. Eventually the rational is revealed and that makes a whole lot more sense, but early on there are facets of Grant’s personality that made me dislike him. Once he really got himself together and stopped wallowing, he’s a great hero. I enjoyed seeing him grow as a person.

I know a lot of historicals are sweet or spicy in nature. Be warned, this book sizzles. There are moments that aren’t for the faint of heart. The chemistry between Irene and Grant, even when they aren’t between the sheets, is explosive. I loved seeing them banter. But don’t let the heat level keep you from picking up this book.

If you want a read that will keep you up past bedtime having to know what will happen next, then this is the book for you.

Colin Knox knows about exhaustion. He’s acted as judge, jury, and executioner to rogue wolves for over a decade, but never lingered long enough to help the survivors pick up the pieces—until now. Lorelei rouses his instincts, both protective and carnal. She’s willing, but only to indulge in physical distraction. Colin wants more, to be the hero who slays her monsters.

Especially when it becomes clear that malicious magic is loose in their sanctuary. The danger draws them together until it’s impossible to separate lust from affection, good intentions from rationalizations. Darkness is stirring at Green Pines. If they can’t fight it together, they could lose everything they have left.

Haunted Wolves is the next book in Moira Rogers’ Green Pines series, and the world in this one has grown to include not only the original pack lead by Jay and Eden, but others, from the Memphis pack and other places as well.

The Sanctuary at Green Pines is coming along nicely. The folks who came with Zack are settling in, getting their internet/mail order business up and running to provide an income for the group. Life is starting to settle down, and as news of the Sanctuary begins to spread, a few families from other areas begin to drift in.

Lorelei Adams knows that things are better here at Green Pines, but before she can completely settle in, she needs to make one last trip to Memphis, to put her past to rest completely. When Colin Knox decides to go with her, she thinks it is for a totally different reason, and Colin quickly assures her that, as unofficial pack Beta, he wants to make sure there will be no further danger from the Memphis pack, and also just to watch Lorelei’s back. He is attracted to her, and hopes she feels the same, but he assures her that she makes all her own decisions, and he will never put her in the position she was in before. Meanwhile, at Green Pines, things are tense, with strange sightings, strong magic and dangerous activity in the dark of the night. While Colin and Lorelei grow closer and trust develops, the past is haunting them both. After their return to Green Pines, tragedy strikes, and everyone fights for survival in the face of an invisible foe.

I like this world, and being there from the beginning of establishing Sanctuary gives an insight into the strengths and weaknesses of the people involved. I like these people, and was happy to see that they are self reliant but willing to accept help when needed. It was fun seeing Stella, the young witch from Red Rock Pass step into her own by becoming the resident witch for Green Pines, and she makes a great addition to the community there.

Lorelei Adams has always been strong, even before she was turned by the corrupt alpha from Memphis. Now that he is gone, she needs to revisit old haunts, seeking to reclaim her sense of self. She is strong, smart, and loyal to those she cares about, willing to do whatever she has to in order to protect her pack mates. She is attracted to Colin, but thinks he isn’t interested when he doesn’t respond to her as she is used to. I enjoyed watching as she came to realize that Colin was interested, but was giving her the one thing she really needed, a choice.

Colin Knox has been a lone wolf and an enforcer, and now he has taken on a new role; Beta to Jay Ancheta’s Alpha at Green Pines. He is strong, protective and loyal to his friends, and thinks he should keep Lorelei at arm’s length to show he respects her right to choose for herself. He is clueless that, by being her friend, she thinks he isn’t interested. I liked Colin, with his sense of honor and fairness, and liked watching as her and Lorelei grew closer on the trip back to Memphis. I also liked that he knew exactly what she really needed to secure her position at Green Pines, a small but important piece of her past.

There are some surprise twists in this that I never saw coming, and they brought the danger closer to home here. The secondary characters are as well defined as Lorelei and Colin, and I got a sense of each individual’s strengths and weaknesses. I found the progression of Colin and Lorelei’s romance achingly delicious, and the power when they finally accepted each other was extremely hot and sexy. I wholeheartedly recommend the Green Pines series for shifter fans, but keep the ice water close, and plentiful.

In tiny Clover Tennessee, Jay Ancheta has blended in with the people, taking his role as Chief of Police seriously. No one knows he is actually a lone wolf, an alpha, in a place that has no idea his kind exist. Eden knows there are things most folks don’t understand, because she knows her cousin was more than human; he could become a wolf, and that was a secret she never revealed. At the farm, she and Jay find that Zack has returned, along with his small and ragged pack, after some very hard times in Memphis. When the Memphis alpha tracks them down and attacks the farm, Eden is turned, and Jay decides to create a Sanctuary right there at Green Pines. But there are still secrets, things that will rock everyone’s world, and threaten them all. Can Jay help Eden accept her new status, and claim her for his mate? Can Zack and his pack accept Jay as their new alpha? And can the ghosts of the past be laid to rest once and for all?

Haunted Sanctuary is the first book in Moira Rogers’ Green Pines world, a world both new and yet familiar. The small town feel of the setting, combined with new characters and established ideals, makes for engaging and intriguing reading. I like this world, and liked that this story brought the action to Middle America, with just a salute to Southern life. I found the characters easy to like, and the story was filled with romance, danger and mystery.

Eden Green, unlike the rest of Clover Tennessee, knows that there are more things possible than most are aware of. Smart, loyal and strong, she’s known about wolf shifters since she was just a child. After all, her cousin Zack had that ability, and she was always just a bit jealous of his ability. I like Eden; she has this girl next-door personality, if the girl next door is able to accept becoming a wolf after being attacked, without losing her mind. I love her sense of loyalty, her ability to roll with life’s surprises, and her willingness to accept the attraction she has for Jay when they begin spending time together after her turning.

Jay Ancheta has been a ‘lone wolf’ for years, after being an enforcer for some of the packs around the country. He has strength, and a sense of loyalty to his friends, and a determination to build a community where shifters, vampires, witches and any other magical being can be safe and free from persecution by the less than honorable alphas of the world. When Eden is attacked, and changes so swiftly, he realizes there is magic at Green Pines, and believes that it is perfect for a Sanctuary. I enjoyed watching as Jay and Eden becomes closer, and I liked that they didn’t try to fight their attraction, but celebrated life and love, even in the face of all the difficulties.

There are some wonderful supporting characters in this story, folks who are learning how to accept who and what they are. Some are born shifter, some are made, but all are determined to make the Sanctuary Jay and Eden are forming as much of a success as they can. I liked Jay’s friends, who were his team of Enforcers and now are helping build a place. Colin, Shane and Fletcher are each strong, and yet all consider Jay their leader. I like the acceptance that Zack, Kaley, Lorelei and Mae have at Green Pines, and, when trouble comes, I like the unity these relative strangers find to keep life safe for all. I love this world that Moira Rogers has built, and hope that there are many more tales in this world to delight and enjoy. I will warn you that there are some secrets that are revealed here, and some mysterious happenings that are left for the future. I recommend this for all those who like a really good shifter romance, with heat and a hint of mystery and danger to keep you on edge.

When the devil wants a deal, there’s no bowing out gracefully.

Hades’ Carnival, Book 2

At twenty-nine, Hollywood scream queen Kellsie Morris is acutely aware the clock is ticking on her career. Luckily, the one big role she needs to pad her retirement fund has just come through—the story of an immortal, shape-shifting warrior trapped in a carnival run by the Devil’s minions.

When Kellsie arrives on set, she can’t resist climbing aboard an amazingly realistic carousel bear—and finds herself flung into a world where the horror is real. As real as the heat radiating off the half-naked hunk in her arms.

Marko has waited an eternity for the chance to free his goddess, the Lady of the Beasts, and his fellow warriors from an ancient curse. But once he lays eyes on Kellsie, he knows to the bottom of his soul that his purpose is to protect her life.

But in this hellish game, it’s the Devil’s move. And there’s no predicting when and where the final, brutal stroke will fall—and which lover will pay the ultimate price.

Mark of the Bear is N.J. Walters’ second book in her Hades Carnival series, and like Night of the Tiger, it is a fantastic addition to this world Ms. Walters has built. This is a dark world, filled with curses and demons, and strong, determined women, ready to do what is needed to survive. I like the characters Ms. Walters crafted for this series; strong, independent women with minds of their own, each with one cursed warrior to save. Of course, the warriors are strong, determined and yet each will face a decision on whether to accept their perfect mate or turn to the evil trying to ensnare them.

The Scream Queen. Top of the B-movie victims, Kellsie Morris, has made a comfortable living in Hollywood, but knows her time is running out for the kind of roles she plays. She hopes to segue into writing once she retires from her acting career. When her agent calls with a too-good-to-be-true offer for Kellsie to star in one last big budget slasher film, she jumps at the chance to add to her savings and go out with a scream. Little does she know, the screams here will be for real, and creatures straight from nightmares will be after her soon.

When Kellsie climbs on the carousel at the movie set, she sets in motion events she never could have imagined. Climbing on the bear figure feels right, but when the bear becomes a real, shape shifting being, Kellsie at first doesn’t believe it is real, as this was all in the script she read. Once Marko is released from his curse, the clock starts ticking; if he can keep both Kellsie and himself free of Hades’ clutches for twenty-four hours, they will be free. But they will need to escape Hades’ crew of demons, protect their souls, and avoid the Warrior turned traitor, Mordecai. Can Kellsie accept the truth, when her whole world has been turned into her own personal horror film? Can she accept Marko, knowing of his dual nature, in order to survive? Will these two, together, prove strong enough to stay alive and become more than either expected?

Kellsie Morris is smart and determined to live life on her terms. She realizes that, at her age, she is near the end of her Scream Queen career. I enjoyed watching as Kellsie made her plans for the future, knowing she had no idea what she was walking into with this final starring role. I like that she stood her ground, even when her whole world was flipped upside down and she learned things aren’t always what they appear to be. I enjoyed watching as Kellsie as she accepted Marko, and all that he stood for, and was able to see that he was the ‘good guy’ in the whole event.

Marko has been cursed for centuries, until Kellsie’s touch frees him. He is a strong and loyal warrior to the lady of the Beasts, and he is grateful to be free to search for the Lady. I enjoyed seeing him come to care for Kellsie, and I liked that he learned to admire her strength, and was able to listen to what she had to say, even though he was of an age where men were used to taking charge. I also liked watching as these two found strength in each other, and found what they would sacrifice to stay together.

There is plenty of danger surrounding these characters, but there are a couple of intriguing surprises to come for Kellsie, not just finding her mate in Marko, but learning about a side of herself she didn’t know existed. There is a brief mention of the characters from Night of the Tiger, and a hint of what is yet to come. The romance in this one starts slowly, but reaches the volcanic level once Kellsie and Marko get together. There are some interesting twists to how they evade Hades’ demons here as well. This one kept me reading long past my bed time, and I look forward to the next installment. This one is for all those who like their shifters hot, their heroines feisty, and their romance with a side of danger.

Nate Powell lived one full life as a world-class inventor before a disaster born of magic and science returned him to his prime—and turned him into a half-vampire, half-bloodhound abomination.

He’s finally stopped yearning for death, but he’s a long way from being excited about life—even if his newly virile body is very excited by the latest arrival to Iron Creek.

Diana is another creature that shouldn’t exist—a female bloodhound. While the males of Iron Creek accept her as a fellow warrior, Nate seems torn between a desire to study her and a need to protect her. Diana’s urges are a lot more carnal.

When they learn that a rogue hound is selling women across the border, Diana and Nate are chosen to infiltrate the vampires’ capital city. Before long, their inner bloodhounds feel the mating pull—and a hound never outlives their mate for long. In a fight to keep each other alive, they could both end up worse than dead.

Diana’s Hound is the most recent foray into the distopian alternate reality created by Moira Rogers, a reality inhabited by genetically enhanced beings, vampire, ghouls and more. A wild west with dangers around every corner, and where life was dark and hard, and evil stalked good people. Moira Rogers has crafted characters that are memorable, rough around the edges, and each with a past that has shaped them into what they have become. I enjoy these characters, because they are not perfect, and they wear their differences like armor.

Bloodhounds. Created by The Guild to be bigger, stronger and able to fight the vampires who are trying to take over the western territories. Men who live hard, fight hard and even love hard. Never in the history of the Guild has there been any doubt about this. So where did Diana come from? The only living female Bloodhound, she is kept secret from those in charge. Created after an attack by a rogue hound, Diana was turned to save her life. Just as she was changed to save her life, so was Nate Powell. Once the brainchild of The Guild, Nate was captured, tortured and turned by the vampires he was helping to destroy. But Nate isn’t all vampire, he is the only mixed breed, part vampire and part Bloodhound. When news of a rogue possibly working with vampires come to the knowledge of the Hounds in the field, Nate and Diana team up to go undercover and learn the truth. What they find is more than a rogue; they discover that all the Bloodhounds have ever thought to be true has been so many lies. They discover betrayal and lies, from the top layers of the Guild down through the ranks. Can these two unique beings battle through and bring back proof to those who need to know it? Can the work together without falling victim to their Bloodhound natures when the new moon comes? And will these two discover that love can come to everyone, even two uniquely impossible beings?

Diana is strong, determined and loyal to the town and the people she protects. She is willing to do what it takes to protect them, even if that means going undercover as the ‘pet’ Hound of a vampire. It doesn’t hurt that the vampire she will be with is Nate, because she is already a bit attracted to him and will enjoy his company. I enjoyed watching as she worked her way into Nate’s life, and his heart. I like Diana for her honest and direct approach to life, and her determination to prove to Nate he is worth being loved.

Nate Powell is the genius behind the weapons the Bloodhounds use. He has been reborn, his transformation from human to Bloodhound/vampire reversing his aging, and making his a young man again. Smart and creative, he is loyal and caring of his friends. He feels that he doesn’t deserve Diana, yet he slowly falls ever deeper in love with her. I loved the conversations he has with Diana, revealing so much without realizing what he is saying.

This story is filled with betrayal, romance, and danger. When the extent of the treachery is finally revealed, it reaches to the inner circle of The Guild, and only Nate and Diana can stop what is happening. Many of the other Hounds make appearances here, and it is nice to see how their relationships are working out. I really enjoyed watching Nate and Diana as they fought the attraction that was slowly building between them, and the fantastic moment when they realized they were so much better together that apart. There were surprises, and some major decisions to be made once the corruption in The Guild was made known to Wilder and the others. This was a hard fought happy ever after, but so worth the wait for these two special people. This is for those who like their fantasy on the rough edge and their romance gritty and hard won.
