Isabella Aldridge has brains, bravado, and beauty—but the latter is no use to a servant. Her circumstances are desperate, and with Hepplewood’s words ringing in her ears, Isabella realizes she must barter her most marketable asset . . . her body.

But when fate sends Isabella back into Hepplewood’s arms, the earl must make an impossible choice—draw Isabella down into his sensual darkness, or behave with honor for the first time in his life.

Isabella Aldridge is desperate. Her job as a governess has ended. She has two younger sisters to support, no funds, and no prospects except for a sleazy cousin. The man she just interviewed with, Anthony Chalfont, the Earl of Hepplewood, offered her a position, but it wasn’t as governess. Angry and disillusioned, she returns to her former employer to ask advice. The woman, who is notorious in her own right, suggests that Isabella needs to marry or find a wealthy protector. Isabella is a widow, and has no desire to marry again, so she resigns herself to becoming a mistress. She contacts a broker who makes these kinds of arrangements, and soon sets off to the country home of none other than the Earl of Hepplewood. Ironically, he was so taken with her looks at their initial meeting, that he commissioned the same broker to find him a mistress with her unique violet eyes and dark hair. It turns out that he gets the real thing, not a facsimile.

The Earl, Anthony, is a complex character. There are some tragic events in his past that have changed him. Although he is still mostly a kind man, he also is dominating and controlling. And he’s determined to flee any kind of emotional entanglement. After just one night, he knows he’s in danger of feeling more than just lust for Isabella, so for his own self preservation, he sends her away, but with a small fortune in jewels. Isabella is bewildered at being cast aside. Although she had been married, it was very brief, and she didn’t have much sexual experience. One night with Anthony gave her a whole new perspective, but she accepts that it’s probably for the best, so she uses the jewels to start a small book store and set up a new home for her and her sisters. But Anthony can’t stay away.

I found Anthony to be a real hero. I love his strength, his protectiveness of Isabella. He is off the charts HOT! Isabella was so well written, as well. She is honest, beautiful, loving, and even willing to sacrifice herself to keep her family together. There was a lot of going back and forth in this book about Isabella and Anthony being together, then not together. That’s something that normally annoys me, but in this case it just worked. The author does a great job of showing us the conflict and confusion each of them is feeling. There is also a mystery, and some danger, and it all comes together perfectly. A word of warning without giving too much away – the sex in this book is not all vanilla. If you are offended by elements of BDSM, you may want to avoid it. Normally, I wouldn’t choose to read a book with those elements, but it fits the people that Anthony and Isabella are, and it works.

This is a strong book that will go on my favorites list for this year. It’s hot, it’s emotional, it’s romantic, and the story just flows beautifully. The author, Liz Carlyle, stretched the typical boundaries of historical romance with this book, and in my opinion, it’s one of her best. It all comes down to a beautiful love story of two wounded people who are perfect for each other, and deserve their well earned happy ever after. Highly recommended!

A mysterious illness threatens workaholic Dr George Wenderlen. Vickie, his wife, must find the courage to go against society’s expectations and take charge to protect them both.

Vickie wants spice in her life, but her husband George is more interested in his work as a doctor. As a Victorian lady she is struggling to find her place in the world. An outbreak of a mysterious illness threatens the ordered world of Vickie and George. George becomes ill, and Vickie is left to care for him, keep him safe, as well as trying to work out the cause of the mysterious illness. Vickie must take charge in her world in order to survive.

Some people know what they want to do in life right away, but for others it takes time to find their niche. Vickie is part of the latter group. Worse yet, she’s only just realized it!
The levitra canada drug not only helps you to get the proper erection and thus it leads to unsatisfactory sexual life. The benefits of shilajit combined with Swarna bhasma (gold), saffron (kesar), nutmeg oil and many other ingredients, commander levitra add to shilajit gold capsule’s invigorating properties. It’s also filled with vitamin D; the absence of enough vitamin D can female viagra uk lower sex drive.
Vickie is an intelligent protagonist who clearly knows what she wants out of life. I didn’t always agree with the choices she makes, but I respected the thought she put into them. I felt like I knew Vickie pretty well by the time I reached the final scene, and that isn’t an easy thing to accomplish in something this length.

This story is set in the early 1920s, yet the characters behave as though they were living in 2014. There is leeway in the science fiction genre when it comes to predicting how society would have evolved if a few key moments were changed, but it was difficult to believe that individuals living in this time and place would have actually done and said some of the things that happened in the plot. Their speech and mannerisms were just too casual for the time period.

The chemistry between Vickie and George is sizzling. My favorite scenes involve the moments they steal away from his insanely busy work schedule. Their non-sexual interactions tended to be a little brusque at first due to how much time they’ve spent apart over the last few years, so it was nice to see them get along with one another as they attempted to reconnect.

There were a few different instances when the wrong word was used in a sentence. Every replacement word was real, and some of them were only a letter or two off from what I think the author was intending to say. It was distracting to stop and figure out what the original word must have been, though, and this tale would have earned a higher rating had it gone through another round of editing before it was published.

The disease that is plaguing George’s patients is frightening. At first I was surprised by how much time it took for it to become the main focus of Vickie’s attention. Building up to this conflict was a good decision, though, as this reader needed that extra time to get to know the characters beforehand. I can’t say much more about this subplot without giving away spoilers, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it all played out.

Change of Heart is a steampunk-inspired, science fiction romance that I’d suggest to anyone who is a fan of any or all of these genres.

Old buildings have an eerie haunting feeling, and the 17th Century Manor house in the Cornish countryside Julia intends to restore, is no exception. Originally her dead husband’s dream, she feels it’s up to her to complete it in his memory. When she arrives, she realizes it’ll take more than a quick clean to put the dilapidated old Manor to rights.

Darting shadows and movements, seen from the corner of her eyes, seem to confirm sinister happenings at the Manor in the past. The discovery of an old diary hidden in a chest of drawers and the story it tells, lead Julia in a different direction than she originally thought she would be taking.

Grief does funny things to people. All it’s made Julia want to do so far is turn back the hands of time. Will a change of scenery help her or will it only make her miss her husband even more?

I was expecting a lot of things out of this story, but laughter certainly wasn’t one of them. Ms. Addicoat has a bawdy sense of humor that worked really well with these particular characters. It’s difficult to say anything else about this without giving away spoilers, but the scenes that dipped into this genre were by far my favorite ones of them all.

It would have been helpful to get to know Julia better. She switched so rapidly between serious indecisiveness and giving clearcut instructions to her new servants that I was never quite sure which side of her personality was the more accurate one. Julia also had a few ditzy moments that seemed out of character for someone who has been successfully self-employed for so many years, but once again I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to find her a little flighty or if I was reading too much into the clues that were provided about the kind of person she was before her husband died.

The romantic elements of this tale are just as strong as the fantasy ones. At first I was little skeptical of how everything would be tied together since there were so many things going on in the plot simultaneously, but the people involved in it were given ample time to get to know each other first. Allowing their attraction to one another to heat up slowly was definitely the right choice in this case!

I’d particularly recommend Spirit of Love to anyone who likes paranormal romance novels that have one foot planted solidly in each genre.

Can Piper save her recipe for happily ever after or is it already ruined? Grab your oven mitts and find out.

Just as Piper, at long last, realizes Chad has gotten under her skin, I’m betting you will realize at the end of the novel that you’ve become very fond of Piper and Chad.

I took me a while to get into the story. The first few pages weren’t too promising. I felt Chad’s advances were too ‘stalkerish’, and at the same time Piper’s rejections were too cold and aggressive. However, once Piper relented and decided hanging out with his family was not such a terrible thing after all, their dynamics shifted and their chemistry felt more apparent. Their characters became more pronounced and their motives clearer and more reasonable once their backgrounds were explained.

I was charmed by Chad’s family, both his twins and his mother. They were all a nice comic relief without being stock figures. Apart from that, they also managed to show deeper nuances of Piper’s character through their interactions with her; this was especially true of the children. Piper’s best friend Joy was also indispensable for the story, functioning almost like a catalyst with her constant jibes at Piper, and then ultimately making Piper realize she’s no better than Mick whom she’s blamed for a lot of problems in her life.

The pace of the story was just right, aided by the fact that Chad’s and Piper’s dates were never dull, instead they always involved some unusual activity and fun company. It was thrilling to watch them fighting their emotions, especially when Piper’s resistance and Chad’s misinterpretation of a situation led to a critical point in the story that was fraught with angst. It took Piper a long time to recognize her feelings, but her development seemed believable.

Caution: Filling is Hot is both a story of love at first sight and a story about stubborn denial. It’s a story about passion and devotion. It’s also a story about healing and overcoming tragic loss and grief.

Adopting an exercise program holds the number one spot on Polly Patrick’s “Things of Zero Interest” list, but with her bestselling author fiancé captivated by the charms of sexy, young fan girls, Polly makes the ultimate sacrifice. Joining a gym and committing herself to torturous workouts is hard enough…but being assigned a sexy, smoldering Greek for a personal trainer is downright brutal.

When Nikolas Kokoris takes Polly on as a client, he’s unaware his job is to get her fit for another man…a jerk who doesn’t deserve her affections. After scrutinizing the sassy, full-figured beauty’s curves for three months of workouts, he’s in trouble. Maintaining his professionalism and keeping his distance has never been tougher.

Struggling to remain focused on the task at hand, Polly and Nick find their lives complicated by a friendly kiss, the potent effects of ouzo, and a cringe-worthy case of mistaken identity.

This limited the competition that could enter the viagra generico cipla market. It’s amazing how clearly we can see someone else’s faults, problems and situations but when we hold up the mirror to ourselves, no matter if we are in the exact same situation, we are blind against seeing it in us. That is the basic plot theme in Ms. Dobbs’ latest sexy adventure in the start of her Greek Delights series.

Helen and Polly are the best of friends. Ms. Dobbs sets up the first conflict in such a way that a reader knows what is coming. Polly can and does help Helen see the light but when it comes to her own heartbreak, she employs the very denial techniques she wouldn’t let her friend Helen get away with. The only good thing that came from that debacle was Polly’s joining a gym. What happens next is inevitable but fun.

Reading Polly’s internal dialogues when it came to Victor was like reading the do’s and don’ts of dating a loser. It was text book and why Polly couldn’t see that drove me nuts. The heroine has a great sense of fun and adventure, has a wonderful talent and has so many things going for her but she’s not realized her full potential. Why is that? The wrong man, that’s why. Just how wrong he turns out to be gets discovered in a most unlikely way and the act of revenge was especially diabolical and perfect. Polly is a very crafty lady. She also has a very sexy and passionate side to her that keeps getting stymied by something called a Merry Widow. I don’t think I want one. Although, what happens to the hapless heroine is both funny and almost scary. Thank goodness she had a hunky Greek hero to save her.

Even though the plot conflict was rather predictable and at times annoying, because I knew that deep down she KNEW but was in denial which is the stupidest thing to be in since she wouldn’t let her friend do it so why was she any different is beyond me, there were a ton of fun, sexy and outright hilarious moments sprinkled throughout the book.

The best parts are when Nick and Polly are together. And I’m not just talking about the hot sex and fun sexcapades, which were highly pleasing. I enjoyed their dialogue, the scene with the ouzo, the massage table and the fact that Nick loved Polly exactly as she was for who she was. He was everything that Victor was not and whenever the heroine compared the two, Victor seemed to come up short. Which made me laugh. Many times. Nick is a real treasure and a keeper.

Another aspect that I enjoyed in this story was a scene with the older ladies. That was beautifully written and it touched my heart. I’m glad that Ms. Dobbs included them because it showcased that both Polly and Nick aren’t just good looking on the outside, but they are beautiful on the inside too. And that’s where it counts.

If a reader is looking for pure entertainment, then Exercising Her Options delivers a fun, fast paced and charming romance. The story includes many moments that brought smiles to my face and it was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. There is however one part for which I was very glad I had not had any food or drink in my mouth. I would have choked. There is an absolutely funny scene that came out of nowhere and surprised me so effectively, I couldn’t stop laughing and giggling for a few minutes. I re-read the scene and laughed some more. That part embraces exactly what this story embodies – a reason to smile and love life and the ability to laugh at yourself. Reading Exercising Her Options left me in a happy mood and that’s the best recommendation I can give to others for reading it. Get your happy on and read this book.

Hungry Heart proves that hot romance goes nicely with hot sauce.

Darcy, the sous chef at the Rose, and the King with his barbecue business practically leapt off the page from the first scene on. The tension between them was palpable, not just because of their personalities, but also because of their professional competitiveness.

While I was instantly drawn in by the chemistry between Harris and Darcy, it took me a while to really feel anything for Andy and Chico. They were perhaps both a bit too passive and I didn’t feel any passion between them until late into the novel. Especially compared to the internal conflict that Darcy faces throughout the story, the other characters seem almost bland. But eventually, even Chico and Andy grew on me.

The descriptions of the Texas barbecue culture felt very authentic and they gave a special charm to the story since they were a convincing background to the romance. The rivalry and professional envy only raised the stakes for the protagonists and added to the conflicts and tension in the novel.

Although the pacing of the story was good, I was a little bothered by the fact that the two love stories developed almost identically. Given the very different personalities of the heroes and heroines, I’d have expected very different dynamics between them. Instead, they develop similarly, with the same pace. I believe a different pacing for the two couples would have enriched the plot, particularly in terms of a more diverse rhythm.

I thought the resolution was done nicely, giving Darcy a happy ending that doesn’t jeopardize her career plans.

Introduction to the barbecue culture is not all that Hungry Heart offers. It serves the reader with a nice portion of romance and love, which makes it a perfect summer read.

Liv Barnett may not like swimming, but she’s ready to dive into her new life when the chance presents itself.

What I loved about Liv was her feisty character. She’s such a wonderful person I instantly found myself rooting for her and wanting for her bad luck to change. When we first meet her, her life is headed nowhere, and she’s not even sure where she wants it to go. But then the wise and friendly Vam makes sure her life is turned upside down when she bequeaths Liv half of Paradise Point marina.

When Adam shows up to see for himself who his co-owner of the Marina is, the chemistry between him and Liv just jumps off the page. Their scenes are so skillfully written that I couldn’t get enough of them, even their initial animosity screams ‘attraction’. The dialogue is witty and natural, the narrative flows nicely, including beautiful descriptions of nature and the marina. The plot is fast-paced and although some of the events at first seem slightly unbelievable, they tie in with the overarching story in the end, making it a well-plotted and intriguing novel.

I love that the protagonists of the story, although single and with no immediate plans to change that fact, are not presented as people who’ve sworn against relationships, but are single simply because life happened that way. It makes their relationship far more believable and sweet. The initial tension between them grows into a hot passion, and the author shows that wonderfully. Their scenes are not too sweet, not awkward or forced, they’re just right. Like Adam and Liv are just right for each other, their characters complementing each other well. Where Liv is determined, energetic and loving, Adam is extremely well-trained in his job but not overbearing or pushy because of it. He knows when he’s lost and he certainly loses when Liv turns on her charm. Not that Liv isn’t feeling lightheaded when Adam comes to her rescue. Several times.

The action and suspense only add to the emotional intensity of the story, making it a fulfilling, well-written experience.

Despite the novel being short, it doesn’t lack anything. If you’re looking for a quick fix of strong emotions, passion and action, this is it. I’ll certainly add this author’s work on my TBR list.

Only time will tell if he figures out the answer to either of them.

Damian wasn’t exactly a saint during his short first life, and his thirst for violence only becomes more unquenchable once he begins his Undead one. His severe lack of empathy and self-awareness brings depth to his personality even if certain horrid choices make it difficult to find many positive things to say about him early on. What I found most interesting about Damian’s character development, though, was how slowly it takes place. Centuries can pass between the first glimmer of change and the next step in Damian’s evolution, but because those moments are given so much time to take hold in his mind they always felt genuine to this reader.

I would have liked to see more time spent exploring the personalities and interests of Damian’s potential life partners. Some of them are developed well enough for me to understand his attraction to them, but others were given very little time to express their unique qualities. Even love at first sight eventually needs something to back up that first flush of emotion, and this novel would have easily earned a much higher rating had I better understood why he chose some of his paramours.

From the opening scene Mr. de Vissage kept my interest piqued with strong, even pacing. By covering Damian’s journey through such an incredibly long period of time the author is able to slowly build a complex supernatural society that would have been hard to flesh out in such detail in a shorter story. I found certain subplots even more captivating than the focus of Damian’s mission because of how expertly the author weaves everything together from one millennia to the next.

As someone who has never had any exposure to the French language, it was sometimes difficult for me to determine the meanings of French words and phrases that show up routinely in the first few sections of this novel. Some of them were easy to figure out because their English equivalents were so similar to them, but certain words remained a mystery to me until the end. While I understand why the author wanted Damian to retain this part of his heritage, it would have been helpful to either have had a glossary of the terms at the beginning of the book or more context clues about their meanings embedded in the text near them.

By far my favourite part of this book involves how effortlessly the author brings back the traditional approach to vampire mythology. Damian and his associates are sexually alluring to humans, but they are also extremely dangerous, unpredictable creatures. The horror elements of this tale are ubiquitous and include the darkest themes of that genre.

I would especially recommend The Night Man Cometh to anyone who is a fan of Dracula. Even with its flaws, this is a noteworthy example of what vampire fiction can be.

Dash is six feet four inches of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own….

Beneath Margo’s tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he’ll have to prove he’s all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter….

Get out the fire extinguisher, this story is scorching! It’s one long, slow seduction that builds and builds until it explodes in scenes of out of control passion. Margo and Dash’s convoluted romance is woven in amongst a very suspenseful and dramatic plot that pits their fledging trust and love against a dastardly scheme. Many times it was almost impossible for me to step away from the book – so much happens in each chapter, I was hooked.

Ms. Foster presented two dynamic characters to work her magic with. Margo is the hard-edged, take-no-prisoners heroine who is a police lieutenant who doesn’t know how to relax, and Dash, the hero, who seems like relaxing is all he does. It’s amazing how deceiving the surface of a person can be. The author wasted no time in sharing the sparks between the two protagonists and truly, the first two chapters are a doozy. In them, the author sealed my interest and invested me 100% in caring for her hero and heroine because the action starts almost immediately and danger flavors the drama to a startling degree. There wasn’t any skipped paragraphs or glossing over any scenes – everything is pertinent, intense and fascinating. A must read.

Never mind his delivery – the hero isn’t so laid back and fickle as everyone seems to believe. He proves it without a doubt in Dash of Peril. Not only that, but having a brother who is also a police officer has given him an edge when it comes to crisis and he proves his mettle many times throughout the novel. Maybe he was a bit too good to be true, but I didn’t care. It was all part of telling a great story that entertains and believe me, I was highly entertained.

Margo’s character is the one that has the most to gain, lose, learn and grow. Dash was her sounding board and her catalyst for change. She certainly enjoyed the process and the author took great pains to make a reader understand just how much of a challenge it was for her to adjust, open up and believe in someone. At times it was painful and many times it was beautiful. It was also very sexy.

This tale is also an emotional roller coaster due to subject matter. The mystery is finding out who is committing the crimes, the drama comes from the bad guys targeting Margo and the suspense comes from hoping no one dies but never really being sure if anyone is going to come to the rescue in time and if any of the villains were going to get away. The topic of the crime is disturbing as I’m sure it was meant to be. I didn’t like it at all but that is why it was so important for the good guys to win – vile things like that should be stopped.

Although there was an intense external plot conflict, the internal one for Margo was rather sad. She comes from a very cold, dysfunctional family so it makes sense that her opening up to Dash would be such a leap of faith. The hardest part was towards the end, when she really believed the worst. That broke my heart.

I’m going to reiterate how intensely sexual this book is. Dash is commanding and Margo slowly learns to accept that being submissive does not equate with being weak. Not at all. Ms. Foster practically singed off my eyebrows with some of the scenes, so get ready.

Secondary characters are extremely important in the telling of this novel. Many I remember reading about when they were the stars of their own books so it was an absolute thrill to see them in action again, but rest assured this is completely a standalone book. If anything, reading about Logan or Rowdy only made me want to read their stories again. There is a reason they are on my keeper shelf.

I would be negligent if I didn’t mention the kitty. It’s a great touch, and it provided a wonderful ‘awwww!’ factor. I loved reading how the cat reacted in many scenes. It was very telling and important and the best was how Dash interacted with Margo’s pet. So sweet – how could I not love Dash as a hero?

I know I’m leaving a ton out because this was a very busy book. There are so many other aspects of the book worth sharing but I think it’s best to just read, enjoy and be surprised. I had a blast reading Dash of Peril and I highly recommend it to all readers of sexy romantic suspense. It’s a sure winner and, the crime element notwithstanding, a very fun book indeed.

Enigma is the latest in the Southern Arcana series from Moira Rogers, and I was happy to see Anna and Patrick finally get their chance in the spotlight. These two have played supporting roles in the past, and I enjoyed watching as they came into their own with this one. As with the other books in this series, the characters are charismatic and well defined, and the world Ms. Rogers has built is ever so slowly expanding to show other supernatural communities outside of the original New Orleans locale. I enjoyed seeing some of the pack hierarchies, and catching up with a few old friends from the earlier books.

Anna Lenoir has fought all her life to prove that a female shape shifter can be just as strong and lethal as her male counterparts. She now fights for money, as a bounty hunter and sometimes enforcer, and has never met a man she couldn’t walk away from…until Patrick. He accepts her as she is, respects her abilities, and she fights to her very core the attraction she feels for him. Anna is strong and lives by a code of ethics that keeps her from getting close to anyone. I like Anna, and enjoyed watching her finally relax enough to let someone inside her walls. I liked the snarky dialog and verbal sparring between Anna and Patrick, and laughed a bit at some of her comments.

Patrick McNamara is a mystery, an enigma in the supernatural community of New Orleans. Although not a shifter, he has beaten many of them at their own game, and has been a very successful bounty hunter and fighter. No one knows exactly what Patrick really is, but he can hold his own in a fight, and is the one man you always can count on to have your back in a serious situation. He is strong, sexy and has secrets that he keeps from the world…even his friends, what few there are, don’t know much about him. When his brother is murdered, he is determined to find every single one responsible, and he hides his pain from everyone except Anna. With her, he can be vulnerable, and he trusts her more than anyone. I enjoyed watching as Patrick began his campaign to win Anna’s heart, and I enjoyed their verbal jousting as they worked together to stop the evil trying to take over in the Southwest.

Enigma is a bit darker than some of the other Southern Arcana books, but that is because both of the primary characters are deeply wounded souls, and both have faced such hardships and pain in their pasts. Anna and Patrick deserved their chance at happiness, and the path to their happy ever after is not an easy one. I like this one, because we finally learn more about two of the most private people in this series, and I also enjoyed catching up with Alex, Andrew and Kat and all of the characters Ms. Rogers has created for this world of magic and mystery. This book is a perfect addition to the Southern Arcana world of Moira Rogers, and I recommend it to anyone who likes their romance with a side of mystery and magic.
