Cade and Sawyer might be Hollie’s biggest risk yet…

Ten years ago, Hollie Callihan left her best friends Cade Easton and Sawyer Matthews in the middle of the night for fear of breaking their hearts—and broke her own instead. She’s spent her whole life chasing adventures on distant shores, but spring floods in the Black Reef Mountains force Hollie, Region VIII FEMA Response Director, to return to Wolf Creek, the town where she left her heart in two.

Cade and Sawyer are now Wolf Creek’s chief of police and fire captain, Hollie’s first line of defense in emergency response…making them unavoidable. Her former friends are all grown up now and totally at odds since she left.

The many dangers of opioid purchased here on line viagra dependence include a poor response to fertility treatments. After all, Wolf Creek is a temporary stop and there’s no place for the daydreams or nightly fantasies she has about Cade and Sawyer—the same ones she’s been having for the last ten long years.

But facing genuine destruction and danger alongside Cade and Sawyer helps Hollie learn that vulnerability and trust aren’t dirty words. If she’s brave enough to let Cade and Sawyer in on what had her running all those years ago, Hollie might just find that taking the biggest risk of her life leads to its biggest adventure—three hearts beating as one.

A natural disaster that FEMA agent Hollie Callihan can fairly accurately predict leads to a reunion collision with her past that no one could predict.

It was unnatural to want two guys, right? That’s what a younger version of Hollie told herself nearly 10 years ago. The heart wants who the heart wants but she couldn’t see a way without hurting one of them so she chose to spread the love…err, uh heartache actually. Coming face to face with much more grown up and commanding versions of the boys she left, as well as some surprising new trouples (tri-couples) in town, has Hollie questioning her reasons to go and embracing her reasons to stay. I was sad right along with them, for the time they had lost, and I think the author did a good job of conveying that.

Cade and Sawyer aren’t what anyone in town would call friends or even frenemies. I actually thought that was an interesting twist from the author because in most scenarios like this, the guys are typically at least friends with the same goal. Not these two so, I looked forward to seeing exactly how they would work things out between themselves and still convince Hollie to give them (the three of them) a chance.

The story flows really well and the constant threat that looms over the town, the impending natural disaster, kept the tension ratcheted up for a good portion of the book. When it finally hits! Expectantly destructive and well described. I felt like I was battling Mother Nature right along side of them.

Honestly, if it wasn’t for some nagging grammatical errors, this book would be close to perfect. Not like every other sentence or even page but unfortunately noticeable to the observant.

Readers looking for a story where the guys or girl are constantly denying themselves of what they want shouldn’t read this book. If instead, they appreciate a lust/love temptation that can’t be denied, Cade/Hollie/and Sawyer’s reawakening is the way to go! It’s powerful and emotional and just a bit raw. And it made me want to go check out the three books that precede this one. That’s some good story telling in my book.

A wolf on a mission needs a partner…even if it’s only for one date…

The hot, powerful Wolff brothers have moved to the outskirts of Silver Town and opened a ski lodge. They’ve always wanted to live in a wolf-controlled area, and now they have their chance. They’re settling in for a quiet winter, when their lives suddenly become way more exciting than they’d ever planned.

Private Investigator and gray wolf shifter Josie Grayson is hot on the trail of a dangerous criminal hiding out at the ski lodge when her partner takes ill and must leave her to pursue the mission alone. Blake Wolff steps in—he can’t resist the allure of this brilliant and focused she-wolf whose presence awakens a long dormant yearning in his heart.

As pursuit of their quarry heats up, Blake has a mission of his own…to convince Josie that there’s more to life than work…and that she’s his perfect mate.

There’s nothing worse for a crime investigator than having that one job hanging over their past that never saw closure. It would certainly be worse for someone who had damning evidence that could never be admissible in court. A wolf’s nose may know but that isn’t enough when the perp is human. Now the bad guy is dead…or is he?

Nicole Grayson is good at her job and loves owning her own PI firm in Denver. Her success rate at catching people in insurance fraud has landed her a job that may just help bring closure to an early case in her career that never got justice. It also puts her in close contact with family who owns the Timberline Ski Lodge just out side of Silver Town, CO. More specifically, it puts her in close cover with one Blake Wolff.

Blake and his family moved to Colorado to be together and find connections by being part of the Silver Town wolf pack. He never expected the gray wolf who shows up looking to take down a couple of his lodge guests to be the mate his wolf longs for.

Their story is sweet. Blake will do whatever it takes to keep Nicole safe as she investigates the not-so-dead man and his cousin (who benefited from his death) staying on the fourth floor. The men are clever at cover their tracts and then there’s an additional surprise that I didn’t see coming.

The romance between Blake and Nicole heats up towards the end as does the action in the mystery she’s trying to solve. There’s never really any conflict between Blake and Nicole that has to be worked out so I felt a little let down, looking for growth, new discovery, a reason to cheer on their HEA.

They do have a beautiful future ahead of them, surrounded by family and a super supportive pack. I just didn’t feel a whole lot of chemistry between them that I look for in romance in general but especially paranormal. There’s a lot of telling in this book and it was very informative on the dangers of being caught in an avalanche. It was obvious Ms Spears did her homework there.

Still, the story in itself is complete. The bad guys are established early, her reason for being at the lodge is legit and the way she and Blake come together works. All in all, a good addition to the Silver Town saga of books with plenty of new characters to work in to new layers of the series.

Their passionate vacation romance is cut short by a troubling accident and they part ways, but neither can stop thinking about the other. When they meet up again in Montreal, seemingly by accident six months later, their attraction is just as strong…or stronger. As they face the challenges of misunderstandings, suspicions and a shadowy menace that won’t leave Rémy’s family alone, one thing becomes clear. Their love remains strong, anywhere and always.

There’s falling in love and then there’s falling on top of, as in tripping over, the embodiment of sexy European wet dreams. Except that Remy is French-Canadian and that’s important to remember.

Annelise is recovering from a shock courtesy of her ‘we want different things’ ex-fiance. Really, who does that? What a jerk! As a reader, I instantly liked Annelise as a sympathetic character but I appreciated that the author didn’t put me through the full grief spectrum. Instead the story opens with her actively making the decision to heal. It didn’t hurt that ‘healing’ came in the form of a hot guy on a deserted beach.

One thing I noticed real quick. Remy’s got moves. Really sexy moves! Their brief time in Mexico was memorable and I was looking forward to when they would run into each other again.

I had in my mind how I thought that would go and surprisingly in a good way, I was wrong. The author throws in some instant intrigue that had me anxious to keep reading. She didn’t disappoint. I won’t go into details but meeting Remy’s sister, hearing about his brothers, there’s so much more story to tell. I for one can’t wait for the next installment.

Reader’s who love to get in on the beginning of great series should get in on this one. Looking at her website, it appears that big brother Pierre’s book is next. Can’t wait!!

Second best to the memory of a ghost. The spare that was never meant to be the heir and that was just fine with Grayson Chandler. He was a successful tech giant but there was something missing in his life. It took a city wide blackout to shed some light on just what or who he needed to bring both a dose of reality and off the charts chemistry to his life.

Nadia’s life in Chicago consisted of supporting her brother, avoiding becoming her mother and being on call to her boss who had no problem with sending her on crazy errands afterhours. Her life would forever be changed by a chance encounter with a gorgeous man who wouldn’t remember her tomorrow. Funny thing about chance, it can go either way.

Blame it on the Billionaire is book 3 in the Blackout Billionaires series. Grayson and Nadia don’t run in the same circles and that fact is brought out several times in the book. The fact that Nadia isn’t like the women who are frequently thrust at Grayson, women who socially acceptable to his parents, is part of her appeal. Her self confidence and sassy kissable mouth are high on the list as well.

Nadia and Gray had instant chemistry but I thought it was interesting that he was so determined to try and not let it get beyond the physical. The physical was totally hot and it was fun to watch them fight to not let it get out of control. It got out of control several times, much to my pleasure and their chagrin.

Ms. Simone paints Nadia’s story, her background and reason for not trusting easy, in very clear and descriptive terms. I could picture the young girl that she was, proud and determined to fight for her brother and herself. She’s a character that was easy cheer for but I wasn’t sure how Gray could overcome her past to make her part of his future. An uphill battle for sure.

The story has a happy ending and wraps up the series nicely. I liked how Ms. Simone worked out the issues. It felt legit, not just thrown together. Readers who love the world of big money and hot men will love Nadia and Gray’s story.

Can the enchanting veterinarian and the guarded attorney fight the ghosts of the past and build a new future?

“One single month to convince an angry lion not to eat her up?” I don’t normally open a review with a quote from the book but this line was brilliant and I was breathless from Ellie and Jackson’s first encounter. He wants to be her dragon slayer and she heals him in ways he never imagined possible.

My first impression of Ellie Blevins, besides loving that she obviously has a huge heart for animals, is of a feisty, hard working, I’m not afraid to stand up for myself, owner of her dreams. Jackson was used to speaking and seeing people jump through hoops. Ellie didn’t do hoops.

First impression of Jackson Kincaid: he may be all kinds of dark dangerous alpha male but it was going to be a delight to watch Ellie bring him down a notch or three. Not to make him less of man, just less of a jerk and actually more of a man. Ms. Ohlin didn’t disappoint. The fall of Jackson Kincaid was as hot as it was smooth and satisfying.

By the way, Jackson isn’t really a jerk, he just plays one really well when confronted with a beautiful, sassy vet determined to not lose what she loves. It took only a conversation with his best friend and dose of his back story for me to realize I was going to fall in lust with this book hero right along with Ellie. He calls her ‘Babe’ and I felt it right along with her. ‘Babe’ doesn’t work for me in every book. It works really well for Jackson and Ellie’s book.

Readers, this is one of those books. The kind that makes you feel a little swoony when you read it. The story flows well, the characters have well built, pull-at-your-heart-strings background stories, and just the right amount of tension that builds up to some explosive love making. I knew very early on that I would be looking for other books by this author if they all read this well.

Looking for a hot book on a cold night? Salvaging Love is the first in the Rescue Me series and I can see Duggan’s book building to be a wonderful followup.

The best feeling in world for a lover of the written word is to stumble across a new author with a whole catalog of stories that draw you in fast. That was my experience when I picked up my first Billionaire book by author (or should I says authors since it’s two ladies) Max Monroe. A true diamond in the rough world of self-publishing.

Milo is a self made billionaire and has the prior credit card debt to prove it. He’s found his niche in the tech world and has the New York social scene begging him for interviews. He has fast cars, an office AND a condo with a view and a great set of friends. He also also has plenty of attention from the fairer sex but, as he watches his friends settling down and finding love, it’s all pretty meaningless. He wants what Evan and Thatch and Quinn have. He wants to find that woman that makes waking up everyday just a little bit brighter. He wants true love.

The fact that he was open and honest, at least with himself, had me early in the book. And then I met Maybe. Mabel “Maybe” Willis has known and crushed on Milo since she was like twelve. Being her brothers best friend, he literally lived at their house for a while. The story is so fun and descriptive, I could see her adoration for the young man she remembered and then the near swooning over the man he became. And he didn’t even recognize her! Love this trope in a romance!

I don’t want to give too much away because this is a book I want others to discover and to love as much as I did. The dialogue is laugh out loud funny. I can honestly say I’ve never seen/heard those kinds of curse words. Ms Monroe is definitely of my generation and spoke directly to my fangirl heart with many of her pop culture references. I felt connected to the characters and therefore, I actually lost sleep to finish reading this one. That’s a good book!

Looking at the book catalogue for this author is appears that she/they write books in series of threes. I actually did read the book prior to this one, The Billionaire Boss Next Door. It too had me LOL’ing (for real) and I would most definitely recommend it as well. Book 3 is next on my list. Reading books 1 and 2 gave me a good dose of Milo’s friend Caplin. I need to see who tames this randy, sometimes over the top, fun lawyer!

Reader’s who haven’t already discovered Max Monroe but love a good rom-com, will love this series. A great cast of fictional friends who I want to visit time and again.

Not once did include the smokin’ hot, broody, frustrating and yet hard to not think about member of Hell Ryder’s MC who lived across the street from her. Dave “Dodge” Roth is many things. Suave and charming are there, it’s just buried deep under a gruff, self-deprecating exterior.

I thought it was interesting how very similar Lex and Dodge really were in spite of their obvious different upbringings. How could a kindergarten teacher from a stable family find common ground with a foul mouthed, motorcycle riding mechanic? Reading the first several chapters it was clear that it would begin with a precious little three year old.

MC based books aren’t my ‘go to’ but the blurb of this one caught my attention and maybe it had something to do with the child. That’s one of my weaknesses in romance and this author did a fantastic job of making Cullen’s story just as integral and important and the what developed between Lex and Dodge.

My one major critique is this that there’s quite a bit of telling to move the story along the timeline. I prefer showing and dialogue. What her ‘telling’ did advance was the build up of chemistry and connection between Dodge and Lex. I didn’t mind that at all.

She also gave me glimpses into the other men and women who made up the first several books. As I said MC isn’t typically my thing but I enjoyed this one well enough to be interested in reading books 1 – 3. Picking up clues from Riding Hard leads me to believe that there’s some exciting and hard fought HEA’s in those books as well.

Reader’s who are offended by strong language might find Dodge and his brother’s a little hard to take but I’d tell them to look beyond their words and you’ll find some super protective, jealous to a fault, loyal hearts. Well worth the read.

High school history teacher Doug Garvey is trying to enjoy his last few weeks of summer vacation, but receiving his final divorce decree hits him harder than expected. If only he could find someone who’s real, someone interested in something beyond herself…maybe a new running partner who can keep up with his more carnal appetite. He’s done with social-climbing posers…she’s ambitious and has big dreams

Fired from an art gallery, Laurel Jepsen shelves her pursuit of an art career in San Francisco to help her beloved great aunt Maxie move into assisted living. While out on a morning run, she’s harassed by a group of teens until a tall, broad-shouldered hottie steps in, pretending to be her boyfriend with a kiss that makes her wish it were true. When life drops something so vivid and sparkly into your much too staid life but then she tells you there’s an expiration date on her stay what else can you do if you’re a competitive person? Challenge accepted.

Laurel Jepsen was born to be a part of the art world. She’s tried her hand at just about every type of traditional art…and failed. So now she’s helping out a precious aunt who inspired her love for all things bright, beautiful and bohemian. She expected to spend a couple of months in small town Eugene and then escape to San Francisco. Fate has other plans and I could tell right away she was going to fight it and lose. It was going to be best failure yet.

Be prepared to shed some tears if you’ve ever had the pleasure/heartache of helping an aging parent or other relative with early signs of dementia. Oh, then there’s that whole thing with Laurel and her relationship with her dad, hearing about her mom’s past. That was tough to witness but necessary. This book is full of feels!

It’s not all sad tears, though. Actually, I was smiling a whole bunch. Aunt Maxine is such a precious and fierce little lady. It was easy to see why Laurel loved her and why it hurt so much to watch her give up her independence as her health declined.

It was great to read a story where the guy wasn’t super model gorgeous. As an aside, after meeting the hero from the first book in this series, Nick, it proved that Ms. Stone can certainly give her readers the super hot guy. I’m already planning to go back and grab his and Clare’s story.

Doug certainly isn’t hard to look at but he’s also very real world kind of guy. Early in the story, and their courtship, I was looking forward to the point when Laurel would give in to the attraction and give him a real chance. When it happens, it’s pure romance at its best.

Laurel is seriously talented but good luck trying to convince her. This is one single minded, stubborn heroine if I ever read one. If I didn’t like her so much, I would have wanted to smack her with a convenient piece of art. As it turned out, I liked her a lot. She might be a bit hard to steer in the right direction but she’s loving, loyal and so very good for Doug. Don’t give up on her when she gets a little crazy.

This book was just the right length. Even after nearly 400 pages, I didn’t want it to end. No unnecessary filler. Just a good steamy love story.

He cannot deny his growing attraction to her. But inter-office relationships are strictly forbidden by Alpine Foods, and a perceptive co-worker, jealous of Yves’ success, will undermine Yves and Lainey any way he can.

Fainting at the feet of a gorgeous man may sound romantic but it’s less than ideal when that same man is about to interview Lainey for a job that could lead to a future defined by chocolate. Not just any chocolate. Swiss chocolate!

This was a fun book but I think Lainey may have found the meaning of ‘too much chocolate” tho she would probably disagree that such a thing exists. Seriously, her online ID is Chocophile, and she certainly knows her way around a chocolate aisle, but it should possibly be Chocoholic. She’s a true addict to her comfort food of choice.

Chocolate love aside, Lainey was a likable enough character but trouble seems to have her number. There are some funny moments in the story and in one scene I was just sure I was about to hear Ross Geller yelling “PIVOT”.

Yves is the very definition of European, completely work driven and goal oriented. He has plans and a girl like Lainey wasn’t even the radar. Until she’s all that he can think about, look for reasons to spend time with and talk to even when she frustrates him to no end. Their HEA would be hard fought…by both of them much less various outside antagonists.

It wasn’t easy but great love stories rarely are. Lainey is a bit hard headed and Yves doesn’t lack in the pride and stubbornness department himself. It was a bit of an up and down ride. Just when I thought they would give into their attraction, one or the other would back off or they’d be rudely interrupted. The story lags a bit in the middle as they’re trying to come to terms with how to deal with their attraction. Or maybe it was just that there was so much going on, I felt pulled from the story.

This is story for readers who enjoy the slow burn of new relationship. Once they finally give in, it’s refreshing and satisfying.

From bestselling author Camille Pagán comes a hilarious and hopeful story about a woman on the verge of a nervous breakthrough.

At fifty-three, Maggie Harris has a good marriage and two mostly happy children. Perpetually anxious, she’s also accumulated a list of semi-reasonable fears: falling air conditioners, the IRS, identity theft, skydiving, and airbag recalls. But never once did Maggie worry that her husband of nearly thirty years would leave her.

On the day Adam walks out the door, everything that makes Maggie secure goes with him. Only then does she realize that while she’s been busy caring for everyone else, she’s become invisible to the world—and to herself.

Maggie cautiously begins to rebuild her life with a trip to Rome, a new career, and even a rebound romance. But when a fresh crisis strikes and an uncertain future looms, she must decide: How much will she risk to remain the woman she’s just become?

Someone once said “the only predictable thing about life is it’s unpredictability”. That’s certainly the truth that hits Maggie Harris square in the face when her husband of thirty-two years leaves her with very little warning.

I wanted to like this book. I didn’t actually hate it, it was okay, I just wasn’t blown away. I kept expecting, wanting really, to see Maggie display some real backbone but other than quitting her job and taking the lone trip to Rome, life happened to her rather than her taking more control.

It’s possible that this story didn’t connect with me because I haven’t lived Maggie’s experience. Not having been through a divorce may color what I wanted or expected to see in Maggie’s reaction. The story gives some interesting insight into Maggie and Adam prior to marriage, life with her single mother as well as raising her children while Adam builds his business.

There’s an interesting underlying thread to the story about how someone can live, work, shop, raise a family and realize one day that they’re practically invisible and maybe this is the real take away from this story.

There was a point where it seemed Maggie started noticing all of the ways that she had allowed herself to become invisible. In the way she dressed, in the way she let others take advantage of her. She shows a little spirit and that gave me hope for the rest of the book.

Women who may be going through the early stages of separation later in life will connect with this book. It’s realistic to a fault. Maggie is on a journey, a long finding herself type journey. The book ends with a little twist and a decidedly positive note for her future and that helped round out the story for this reader.
