King Mason doesn’t want to spend another year alone. He loves his job at the men’s shelter, but there has to be more from life than work. He’s seen the pretty blond man around the community and can’t wait to make a move at the Christmas street party.

Randall Stevens has big plans for Christmas 1980, and all of them involve meeting King Mason. He’s fallen hard for the man, and his wish is to take things to the next level. Christmas Eve just might be the night — except some wishes are meant to go sideways. Can Start Me Up help provide the solution he and King need?

King had spent the year working hard at his men’s shelter to try and drown out his pain and sorrows over a hurtful break-up. Now that it’s Christmas-time he’s hoping to not end the year alone. Randall had left his family and old life – one in the closet – behind and while he was nervous and felt lost something about King, his strength and confidence drew Randall. Can they find some magic this Christmas?

I enjoyed this Christmassy short story. While a few of the previous couples are mentioned in relation to the potion store Start Me Up this book can totally be read as a stand alone and I had no problems following along with it having not read any of the previous stories. I enjoyed that despite the short length of the story the author gave a fair bit of time at the start to properly introduce King and Randall’s characters, this helped me get a good feel for what they’re like and where they are at in their respective lives so as they slowly became more attached to each other their relationship felt more realistic and understandable to me.

I was pleased the author managed to explain most of the “magic” or paranormal aspect of this story without info-dumping or bogging the pace of the plot down. It was quite unconventional but I enjoyed it and while I feel readers will definitely need to suspend their disbelief – Christmas magic and a bit of “love conquers all” is never a bad thing in a romance story to my mind.

Readers looking for an intensely erotic story might not be satisfied with the two quick sex scenes. Personally I felt the blossoming relationship between King and Randall, as well as the paranormal/magical element to the story and the rest of the plot was more interesting and important than a second or third sex scene between the two men. Especially considering the short length to the story I feel the author managed to balance all these elements really well – but for an “erotic romance” even though the sex was steamy and sensual I could understand if this might not be satisfying for everyone.

Christmassy and full of magic and the first blush of a new relationship I enjoyed this happy and short story.

Sugar Plum fairies eat your heart out. Madison Reynolds has visions of a different kind dancing in her head. Home for the holidays in Cedar Bend, Colorado, Madison must focus on helping her bedridden pregnant sister, not fantasize about the one who got away. But how is she supposed to forget about her high school crush when she bumps into him at every turn?

From the moment Ryder Sanders untangled the reindeer antlers from Madison’s hair his Christmas season appeared brighter. The time spent in her company leaves him more smitten. So, why does she still treat him as if he has cooties? They’re not in high school anymore.

Can the two find a forever love? Or will their wishes melt away like icing on a Christmas treat?

Oh my gosh, I have to start my review by talking about the heroine, Madison. I completely related to her in every way. Seriously, this book could have been written about my years in high school. I nearly died laughing throughout the entire story at the similarities between Madison and me. The connection I felt with Madison started on the first page and didn’t stop there. I couldn’t wipe the smile off of my face. I’m still sitting here shaking my head, still beaming with a quirky smile. I thought I was the only person on earth that had a crush on a boy for all four years in high school, yet couldn’t even look or speak to him without hyperventilating while turning beet red. It was painful. Technically Madison is a book character, so I may still be the only human who, to this day, probably wouldn’t be able to form two words if I ran into my high school crush. This element alone in the story made my day and leaves me no choice but to recommend this book.

Honestly, the entire cast of characters were hilarious. Madison’s four-year-old nephew, Taggert, was a hoot. As a retired preschool teacher and a mother of two boys, I can testify that the author was accurate regarding a preschooler’s favorite food, to the innocent yet inappropriate comments a four old can make, and the shenanigans they can get themselves into. Taggert’s dad, Jim, had me roaring regarding his cooking skills. I could go on and on but I suggest the book is worth the read just to meet all the other characters.

Just so you know, not all the characters made me feel warm and fuzzy. There was one named Pilar who consistently stirred the pot. Pilar was unlikable and I would have guiltily enjoyed seeing her suffer far more than she did because of all the trouble she caused. However, the story would not have been as entertaining as it was without Pilar.

The heroine, Ryder Sanders, was so much like my high school crush I could barely take it. The chemistry between Ryder and Madison was very romantic. I looked up my high school crush on Facebook and actually found him. He was bald with a dad-bod. I’m pretty sure, despite his aging, I’d probably still not be able to form two coherent sentences. LOL! I’m so glad that Madison had her happily ever after with Ryder.

Concerning all the technical writing, plot creativeness, plot flow, predictability versus plot twists and everything else, I was impressed with all of it. I especially enjoyed the time of year that it took place in. Christmas is my favorite season.

I don’t have any qualms recommending Tangled in Tinsel. If fact, I think the book would make a great Christmas gift.

Although neither Emma nor Andrew are quite ready for a relationship, and canoodling is against company policy, the holiday spirit of Manhattan is magical and contagious. As fate and Mother Nature would have it, their time snowed in together gives them the chance to finally face their pasts and fall in love.

Have you ever read a book and wondered how the characters were doing after the book ended, as if they were real people? It’s one of the reasons I cherish stories that include an epilogue. “Snowed In” has the most unique epilogue I’ve ever read in my life. It included “One year later” “Two years after that” and “One year after that”. It was like being at your favorite rock band concert and they keep coming back for encores. There are some books that, when I’m near the end, I will put down and walk away because I don’t want it to be over. I desperately want to finish it but I know I’ll be sad when it’s done. When I have a book like that and there is an epilogue it is like winning the lottery. In this case, I won the lottery three times.

The heroine, Emma and the hero, Andrew, made for one of the most absolutely sweetest romance stories I’ve read in a long time. My mother would love this book for Christmas. If you are looking for a sweet, heartwarming love story than this is the book to read. The holiday season is the best time of year to read this book because it is full of Christmas spirit. I enjoyed reading it all snuggled up on the couch next to my Christmas tree.

From the first page to the last page, the writing style, character development, plot, setting and pace all kept me enraptured. There is a plethora of entertaining moments that will make you chuckle.

If the synopsis tempts you at all then I’d encourage you to pick up this book and snuggle up for a few hours. I personally think it’s a great book to insert in a hot chocolate gift basket for anyone who enjoys a tender romance.

Can the Holiday Heroes deliver presents without being spotted? Will they be able to pull off Christmas in the end?

Everyone needs to take a sick day eventually!

My favorite part of this picture book were the profiles that were included about Santa, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, a leprechaun, and a witch. These profiles gave the audience so much information about all five of these classic fantasy characters, including some facts about their lives that were downright funny. It was nice to have these glimpses of who these individuals were, especially when it came to the portions of their lives that weren’t necessarily part of the traditional canons about them.

I would have liked to see more time spent on plot and character development. The blurb and first scene of this tale were filled with so much promise, so I was disappointed with how quickly some of the most exciting plot twists were either not shown or mentioned only in passing. This was a fabulous idea that could have been expanded upon so much more than it was.

While this wasn’t specifically about Covid-19, the thought of Santa needing help delivering presents due to being sick and in quarantine is certainly timely this holiday season. I appreciated the way the narrator explained this turn of events in ways that were honest about his illness but still reassuring for young readers. It was also interesting to see how this concept was addressed again in the final scene. There was certainly room for a sequel, but it also felt nice to have a resolution to this problem.

The Holiday Heroes Save Christmas should be read by anyone who has a vivid imagination and loves Christmas.

Carter loves his son and has been through the wringer. I liked that he was human, rather than the superhuman I-have-to-do-everything kind of guy. He’s trying to balance and it’s not always possible. That made me root for him. Then there’s Liz. She’s got issues and it makes her just as human. I liked that she wasn’t perfect.

I loved the slow build-up between these two, as well. This story takes place before Christmas and it was fun to see how these characters come to see each other as more than friends. I love it.

Love at Christmas! So good.

I picked up this book because of the pup on the front. I wanted a sweet, holiday read with an ending I could depend on and that’s what I got, times two. The writing is solid and the stories are easy reads. I blazed through them in the course of a couple afternoons.

Mistletoe and Mr. Right – This story had promise. It’s cute. Jessica thinks she’s got the world’s number and she knows how she wants to run it. I liked her headstrong approach. The thing that drove me nuts about her, but was also very human, was her bone-deep desire to control everything and have it go her way. There were some serious blind spots to this gal. I liked the connection to Grady, too. I guess what bothered me the most with this one was her wanting control, but wanting more than one thing at a time. It’s still a good read and fun for the holidays.

Sleigh Bells and Second Chances – Christina was an interesting character. She’s best friends with Jessica from Mistletoe & Mr. Right, so that’s how the stories are connected. But she’s also sort of…snobby isn’t a good word for it. She comes from a damaged background and from a broken home, but there’s money involved. She has her issues to go through, which made her human, and the relationship with Cary. There’s some serious heat there. I liked the connection and rooted for them, even though there were times I didn’t like Christina much. She changed her mind a lot and wanted to do a lot of punishing. Still, the Christmas spirit is all over this story and it’s cute.

If you want a pair of stories to warm the chilly evenings, then this might be the book you’re looking for.

This story takes place right before Christmas, which forces Paul and Ryan to confront their sadness, but to do it together.

The beginning was rather slow, I have to admit. It took me a while to get into the story and to know what was going on. I wanted to like Ryan and Paul from the beginning, but at times I got confused as to who was alive, who wasn’t and who was dating whom. It needed just a bit more editing to smooth out some of the edges–there were a missed word here and there and a few other oddities, but nothing that would take away from enjoying the read.

Once the story got going, it really sped along nicely. The connection was odd, but deep and I liked Paul and Ryan together. I certainly felt the angst and the creative genius in them. Plus, the hot scenes are hot.

Just before Steven left, this Dom and sub officially got married, but they never got a honeymoon and now they need to rediscover how they fit together. Can Steven and Lawson regain what they’ve been missing for the last two years and reconnect for Christmas?

It might be Christmas-time, but Lawson is keeping as busy as he possibly can, volunteering at anything he can get his hands on. With his husband, Steven, working as an army field nurse through the holiday season Lawson desperately wants to keep the loneliness without his husband at bay. Despite being together for years and getting married shortly before Steven went on tour, the two years they’ve been apart feels like an age. When Steven comes home for good, can they rediscover each other and begin their “new” marriage together again?

Mildly kinky and full of loving and explicit sex, this is one heck of a steamy romance story to keep you turning the pages and thinking of decadent, cold Christmas evenings. With some spanking and mild BDSM (body piercings, toys and restraints) this is hot enough that I feel most erotica readers should find the bedroom antics satisfying – but not kinky enough to push the envelope or make many readers uncomfortable. Best of all, Steven and Lawson are both clearly and deeply in love with each other – the two year enforced separation making them burn for each other and making their reunion all the more sweet from their time apart.

While most of the first half of the story is the two men becoming *cough* acquainted *cough* with each other again, I was really pleased the second half of the book showed us a bit more of each man’s personality and let us see some of the intricacies of their relationship. I enjoyed that the author let us see more than just the sex to their personalities – things like them volunteering at the local community centre, shopping for groceries together and reconnecting through all the mundane, every-day aspects of living together that neither of them had needed to do for so long. It kept the story feeling real, grounded and believable to me. It helped me feel more connected to both Steven and Lawson and helped me see just how they could fit and work and love together in the “real world” and that made this story far more romantic, emotional and relatable to me.

With loads of steamy sex, a lovely and enjoyable romantic relationship and the joy of two people who adore each other finally being able to live happily and a normal life together this was a pleasure to read.

This short story was an absolute delight. It’s a reprint (this story can also be found in the anthology “Welcome To Love”) but good enough I’m pleased to have gotten it as a standalone as well. Drake is burned out and I feel really needs to find himself again. Scott is far more stable and after losing his lover a few years earlier to cancer is ready to at least try to open his heart back up again. I loved how the two men didn’t simply jump into bed with each other – but slowly edged their way together instead. Having not seen each other since high school, even though they knew each other at heart they’d both done a lot of growing and changing in the years since they’d been good friends; so it made sense they took a little time to feel their way out to one another.

The sex was deliciously hot and I adored the emotional connection that both men relished growing together. While Drake and Scott definitely weren’t shy about sharing their bodies or becoming steamily intimate it was the relief and rest Scott and his small farm gave Drake and the human connection Drake gave Scott which really made this relationship sing to me. The men connected well sexually – but they each gave the other something else that they really, really needed. This helped make the story so realistic and so wonderfully emotional and romantic to my eyes. This was deeper and more intimate/romantic than just hot sex, this was about friendship and need which blossomed wonderfully to love.

The author did an amazing job with these characters and the circumstances bringing them together. This was a lovely, heart-warming story and one I know I’ll enjoy rereading many times in the future. Recommended.

A chance crossing of their paths bring them together the week before Christmas. Can they move past their separation and everything that’s happened in the last six years to find a Merry Christmas together?

A number of years ago Finn and Jared broke up when Finn couldn’t turn down a job promotion which required he move to a different country. The two men were sad to go their separate ways but each agreed it was the best option for them both. But now Finn is back for good and determined he and Jared rekindle their Dom/sub relationship once again.

I enjoyed this seriously steamy short story. I was pleased that both Finn and Jared had the sizzle to their chemistry as it made their quick rekindling a lot more believable given their past history. While the two men fall pretty quickly back into bed with each other I thought it was quite clear each had grown and learned during the six year lag in their relationship and I couldn’t help but feel it likely made their new, fresh start all the better.

Finn and Jared both enjoy a bit of kink and while a bad experience had kept Jared out of the lifestyle for a while they both eagerly jumped right back in. Readers used to erotic romances shouldn’t find anything too hardcore in this lovely short story – a bit of bondage and restraints, some spanking and toys – but overall I found there was just enough spice and heat to keep the rekindling of Jared and Finn finding each other again to go bubbling along nicely.

Readers looking for a happy, slightly Christmassy and very lightly kinky read should find this ticks all the boxes. I was really pleased both Finn and Jared had a good chemistry and a solid shared history which made their quickness reconnecting not totally feel like insta-lust. While there wasn’t much plot I personally found that the growing and reconnecting between the two men acted as a solid vehicle to drive the sexual connection and bedroom antics.

Sexy and fun, this was a good quick read and one I enjoyed.
