Elena: with Damon at her side, and wild with her craving for blood, the changed Elena struggles to control her desires.

Damon: his hunger for the golden girl wars with his hunger for revenge against Stefan.

Stefan: tormented after losing Elena, he will do anything to get her back. Even if it means becoming what he once despised. . . .

Getting what they want may come at a deadly cost.

What happens when a love triangle turns deadly? You have the start of a new love story.

That’s why I had to read the next installment of the Vampire Diaries: The Fury.

I love a story where there’s a scorned person, a person reborn, and a love strengthened. This book has all three. Those who see the television show won’t totally recognize the way the central characters are presented. Online drugs are so much effective and they promise tadalafil cialis to increase the size of the male organ and to get rock hard erections. It contains high salt content which is also observed in the human body of the males & this is essential for the person to consume the solution only once in a day’s period as excess or over dose can lead to fatigue (extreme tiredness), which can contribute to erection failure conditions Testing blood glucose: the tests the level of CGMP which relaxes the contracted cialis prescription muscles around the arteries and enables a good flow. I think this is one example of a book that better shows the characters. There is a depth in Elena and Stefan that wasn’t in the earlier books.

The more I read this novel, the more I liked Stefan. He’s in a tight place. He wants to undo his brother’s deeds while still showing Elena the depth of his devotion to her. Although he’s part of the undead, he’s still a worthy hero. Plus, he’s darn cute, too.

The thing that threw me about this story that wasn’t as prevalent in the earlier novels, is the scene jumping. As I read, I was smack in the middle of one scene and then, wham! I’m thrust into another one without any real conclusion. If read as a whole, then things make sense, but if the reader is like me, and has to put it down halfway through, it can be a bit confusing.

If you want a read that is fulfilling and has bite, then you need to read The Vampire Diaries: The Fury. I give this story 4 suns.

Elena Gilbert is alive—again.

When Elena sacrificed herself to save the two vampire brothers who love her—the handsome, brooding Stefan and the sleek and dangerous Damon—she was consigned to a fate beyond death. Until a powerful supernatural force pulled her back.

Now Elena is not just human. She has powers and gifts that were bestowed on her in the afterlife. What’s more, her blood pulses with an overwhelming and unique force that makes her irresistible to any vampire.

Stefan wants to find a way to keep Elena safe so that they can make a life together. Damon, however, is driven by an insatiable desire for power, and wants Elena to rule as his princess. When Stefan is lured away from Fell’s Church, Damon seizes his chance to convince her that he is the brother she is meant to be with. . . .

But a darkness is infiltrating the town, and Damon, always the hunter, is now the hunted; he becomes the prey of a malevolent creature that can possess him at will, and who desires not just Elena’s blood but her death.

What’s a girl to do when she’s turned into a vampire and can’t talk, but she can feel everything? Turn to her friends for help.

Sound interesting? Then you should read The Vampire Diaries: The Return: Nightfall.

I’ve read all the prior books in this series and I love a good neck biter book. I must say though, this one is a bit of a doozy. Whereas the earlier books were around three hundred pages, this one tops out at almost six hundred. In those pages, there is a lot going on. Although I enjoyed the story, I almost wished the author has split it into two books. There is a lot of POV hopping which can deter the reader. This medicine can nicely repair the order cheap levitra erectile dysfunction issue. What’s more worrying is that many men do not undergo any kind of treatment, allowing ED this order cheap viagra to get more severe. But, unfortunately, most of them are ineffective and provide levitra online canada side effects that are harmful to the general well-being and support weight loss. If you are http://robertrobb.com/repeal-the-bales-ducey-car-tax/ generico levitra on line concerned only about your own interests, think twice because she also has her needs and expectations from you. I found myself rereading parts to figure out which character’s head I was in. But to be fair, there are a lot of characters and a lot going on in this story.

Elena, who was strong and a force to be reckoned with in the earlier books comes across a tad melodramatic. She feels everything, including the makers of the clothing Stefan tries to put her in. I get the idea of using a book for a soapbox podium, but wonder if this was the podium to take.

I wanted to see more of Damon. Yes, I’m addicted to the bad boy vampire. Like Elena, I was let-down a bit. He comes across as more one-dimensional. I know guys will obsess on female anatomy, but from the earlier stories, I expected him to be a bit more mature than that. I wanted to see the great moment when he shows his prowess as a bad boy and evil but likeable character.

What also detracted from the story was the bevy of characters. I got the feeling the story was geared a bit too much towards pop culture. Although it works, I wanted to see more development. Give the characters time to shine and show their ultimate goodness or badness.

Still, once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. I’m hooked to see what happens next and can’t wait for the next installment.

If you want a book chock full of teen angst, strife, and torrid romance, then you need to read The Return: Nightfall. I give this novel 3 suns.

Twelve-year-old Johnny Maxwell has a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This has never been more true than when he finds himself in his hometown on May 21, 1941, over forty years before his birth!

An accidental time traveler, Johnny knows his history. He knows England is at war, and he knows that on this day German bombs will fall on the town. It happened. It’s history. And as Johnny and his friends quickly discover, tampering with history can have unpredictable—and drastic—effects on the future.

But letting history take its course means letting people die. What if Johnny warns someone and changes history? What will happen to the future? If Johnny uses his knowledge to save innocent lives by being in the right place at the right time, is he doing the right thing?

Mixing nail-biting suspense with outrageous humor, Terry Pratchett explores a classic time-travel paradox in Johnny Maxwell’s third adventure.

Johnny Maxwell has been into space, he’s spoken to the dead – what next?

Life is seldom normal for Johnny. He finds local bag lady Mrs Tachyon wounded in an alley and calls an ambulance to take the old lady to hospital. The supermarket trolley containing all her possessions and Guilty, her cat, is left behind. Johnny puts it in his grandfather’s garage to keep it safe. Guilty is not happy. The cat is the scourge of the neighborhood. Even savage dogs find an alternative route when they see Guilty heading their way.

The trolley is full of black bags which are the gateway to the past for Johnny and his friends. purchase generic levitra This PDE 5 inhibiting medicine inhibits PDE5 enzyme so that blood flow issue can be solved. They arrive in 1941 on the day a large bomb is due to wipe out part of their town. They try to alert people to the approaching danger, but return to their own time unsuccessful. Some minutes pass before they realize of the five who travelled to the past there are now only four. Wobbler has been left behind.

Johnny and his friends make plans to return 1941 and find the reason why Wobbler was left behind and put it right. Next job is to save the people from the bomb. Help comes from an unexpected source and an explanation about trouser legs!

I enjoyed reading all three books in this series. Traveling to the past is frightening for the friends and only Johnny’s determination to save the people from the bombs keeps them from falling apart.

In this third book of the Johnny Maxwell series we travel to war torn England. All through the book the reader is aware there is an underlying reason for Johnny to be here. The support of his friends is important to him and Terry Pratchett shows how friends can help, hinder or support when something needs to be done.

Humor and war are not usually found in the same place, but in Johnny and the Bomb the two go hand in hand. The differences between the friends create many funny situations as do some of the explanations they use to try and explain the weird situations they find themselves in.

This is another extremely good read. Terry Pratchett is best known for his Discworld series, but the Johnny Maxwell Trilogy is also up there among the best.

The town council wants to sell the cemetery, and its inhabitants aren’t about to take that lying down! Johnny is the only one who can see the outraged ghosts, and the previously alive need his help to save their home and their history. Johnny didn’t mean to become the voice for the lifeless, but if he doesn’t speak up, who will?

The continuation of the “Troubled Times” of Johnny Maxwell’s family have led to him and his mum living with his grandfather. He and his friends often take shortcuts through the cemetery on their way to and from school.

A rumor goes around the town that the council have sold the cemetery for redevelopment for the huge sum of five pence (about seven cents American). Most people in town mutter about this but do nothing. Johnny wonders what the dead would think about being moved to a new site. Curiosity makes him knock on the door of one of the mausoleum tombs. To his surprise the deceased occupant appears and asks him what he wants. Johnny’s friends cannot see or hear the dead, but they believe in Johnny so they promise to help.

How can Johnny, his friends and the dead fight the council and the developers when the bulldozers are ready to start their engines and destroy the cemetery? And what will happen now the dead have risen and want to experience the live world again?

Once again Terry Pratchett has given us a fascinating story. Twelve year old Johnny Maxwell looks at life slightly differently than most boys his age, but only Terry Pratchett can make the situation funny, weird and slightly spooky all at the same time. This is an excellent book for children from twelve years upwards. There is just the right amount of mystery, humor and scariness to bring the book to life and fascinate the reader.

With summer on the horizon this book can be enjoyed when you have the time but put down when there are other things to do, but it always draws you back to find out how Johnny can solve other people’s problems (including dead people). A very enjoyable read.

Damon: at last, he possesses Elena. But will his thirst for revenge against Stefan poison his triumph? Or can they come together to face one final battle?

Sometimes love isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Is the love of your life enough to make you shut out friends and turn away acquaintances?

The Vampire Diaries: Dark Reunion tackles that thought and much, much more.

When I first cracked the book, I thought the narrative was a tad corny, but it made me remember a time in my life—high school. L.J. Smith does a great job of taking the reader back to high school. But it’s more than just a run down memory lane. Kamagra can be used by anyone who has crossed the age of get more order generic cialis 18 years can use this medicine. I found the switch to Bonnie’s point of view a little jarring, but I realize that there needed to be a bit of switching up. I got to see how she felt about having her best friend changed, how she dealt with life in general, and a picture of Elena and Stefan that the reader wouldn’t get through the eyes of Elena or Stefan. I wanted to see more of Damon who almost poofs out of this installment. Who doesn’t want to see what the resident bad-boy vampire is up to?

I thought the ending was a bit quick, but worth the ride. I must say, it had me aching to get the next book to see exactly what happens and to have the ending smoothed out. And it was worth it.

The alien spaceship is in his sights. His finger is on the Fire button. Johnny Maxwell is about to set the new high score on the computer game Only You Can Save Mankind.

Suddenly:
We wish to talk.

Huh?
We surrender.

The aliens aren’t supposed to surrender — they’re supposed to die! Now what is Johnny going to do with a fleet of alien prisoners who know their rights under the international rules of war and are demanding safe-conduct? It’s hard enough trying to save Mankind from the Galactic Hordes. It’s even harder trying to save the Galactic Hordes from Mankind.

But it’s just a game, isn’t it? Isn’t it?

Master storyteller Terry Pratchett leaves readers breathless — with laughter, and with suspense — in a reality-bending tale of virtual heroism.

“We surrender!” How can a computer game surrender? A “we give up” message is not what you expect to see when you’re playing a space invaders game.

Johnny Maxwell thought his friend had hacked the program. Every time he turned the computer on he got the same message. Then his dreams were taken over as he found himself in a fighter in space every time he fell asleep. The captain of the enemy Scree Wee insisted they were surrendering. It had to be a dream. A visit to the computer shop proved how wrong he was. Customers were complaining all the spaceships had disappeared from the “Only You Can Save Mankind” game.

Johnny sometimes has odd ideas and his three friends range from an overweight computer ace, to skinhead who isn’t really. soft tab viagra Increasing its dose may cause a prolonged erection (pripiasm) or even death. Humor from misunderstanding lends a light touch to the story. Just as Johnny feels he’s making progress the Scree Wee demand provisions as is their right under the rules of war. He’s still trying to solve the problem of feeding the huge Scree Wee fleet when another human fighter appears in the otherwise empty space.

Set in the time of the space invaders games, this book is very entertaining. Johnny and his friends are normal boys who are thrown into a situation way out of their control. I liked the way the friendships helped Johnny to attack the problems thrown in his way, without any of the heartiness often found in books of this period. The answers to his problems were not always what he thought they would be.

This book is the first one of a trilogy and Mr Pratchett has worked his usual magic. He shows a boy going through ‘Troubled Times’ with his parents, who can still find time and energy to help aliens. It doesn’t matter to Johnny that the aliens are part of a computer game.

Well done Mr Pratchett. While not as gripping as some of your other books, this is a story which makes the reader keep coming back to see what happens next.

Torn between two vampire brothers

Damon: determined to make Elena his, he’d kill his own brother to possess her.

Stefan: desperate for the power to destroy Damon, and protect Elena, he gives in to his thirst for human blood.

Elena: the girl who can have anyone finds herself in the middle of a love triangle . . . one that might turn deadly.

Angst, torture, and mid-terms… typical high school stuff. That is unless you’re a vampire. Then, well, it’s a tad harder.

I gotta tell you, the characters you meet in the first book are still around, with much of the same angst, but this time, they show a maturity (for high school kids), that’s refreshing. Yes, things are still drama packed, but this time it’s more cohesive. Also, as Vinpocetine is an djpaulkom.tv sildenafil 100mg price effective anti-oxidant, it also saves the brain from getting old. You feel more for Damon and his bad-boy antics. He’s a draw—he’s handsome, enigmatic, and not at all a good boyfriend match, but like chocolate, you can’t not fall for him. I also like how Stefan is pushed to be something other than the perfect match. I like how he’s not allowed to fester in his role as the good guy, but has to be a little bad to meet his own goals. I can’t give away too much or I’ll ruin the story.

Elena is an intriguing heroine. She wants to do what’s right, but her interest is piqued by Damon’s dark side and she’s lusting after Stefan’s hunkiness. But she’s easy for teens to identify with because… who hasn’t fallen in puppy love (well, puppy love if you’re talking vampires) with more than one guy? You want to see her get her heart’s desire when she figures out what that is.

This story is good for the 14+ age group, though it may be enjoyed by younger readers. But be warned, this is one adaptation that’s better if you read the book than rely on the television show. Trust me, there is more depth in the book, and you feel more like you’re hanging out with your own friends in the book.

If you want a great book for a long weekend, then this is the vampire story for you. I give The Vampire Diaries: The Struggle 4 suns.

Many stories lose something when they go from the written page to the small screen. This is one of those stories.

Elena has a lot of dimension beyond being a pretty high school senior. She’s smart, but she’s also nosy. I liked her adventurous spirit, although at first, I wasn’t real thrilled with her almost callous approach to her boyfriend. But then again, who is totally nice all the time when dealing with a pest? High school kids can identify with her actions.

Stefan and Damon are a great tag team in that both are handsome, damned, and enigmatic. You want to see Stefan get with Elena. The struggle to overcome evil and desire is interesting, but a little adult for some ‘tween readers. Still, there is the expected drama of high school… the bullies, the drama queens, and then the paranormal happenings around them.

You feel like you’re in the story with them and watching them grow is like watching your friends come of age. Once you read this book, you’ll want the second and third installments, it’s that good.

Beware the place where darkness rules and bloodlust is the ultimate aphrodisiac…
An apocalyptic storm has transformed New Orleans into a city of lawless terror—and Mikaela Jones is standing in the center of the nightmare. A beautiful, courageous journalist with a mysterious past, she sees monsters prowling all around her. But the gravest peril of all awaits Mikaela when she is taken captive by a mesmerizing male who is not mortal—a breathtaking creature who arouses the fire in her blood, making her burn for the exquisite erotic ecstasy of total surrender.

For seven centuries Alex Broussard has been waiting for the chance to free himself from the threat of the matriarchal undead society that seeks his destruction. Now they are joined, for good or ill, as they give in to the burning need that neither can resist—risking everything to experience the ultimate sensual release as the darkness rises all around them.

Darkness Burning is the third book in the Darkness series, but it also stands on its own. While it would be a pity to miss two great reads with the preceeding stories, they are not absolutely necessary to the understanding of the plot or the characters in this one.

Darkness is the state in which New Orleans finds itself after the Storm surge destroys most of the city, and worst of all, allows the inhuman underworld to roam free in its streets. But nothing is ever simple in Delilah Devlin’s world, and the struggle isn’t just between mortal prey and its immortal hunters. Something is after the hunters themselves, and if they can’t unite against their foe, they will be destroyed.

Ploys, palace intrigues, backstabbing and betrayal, shifting allegiances and true friendship, and above all, abiding love, are what make Delilah Devlin’s dark romances so irresistible.

Do not expect a formulaic and predictable story. You can, however, count on a sensual read, hot flashes, sharp humor, unexpected twists, sudden revelations, and one of the best storytellers in her genre.

Review: Seduced By Darkness

Seduced by Darkness
by Delilah Devlin

For eight hundred years Nicolas Montfaucon has dedicated his life to preventing the rebirth of an immortal evil. But now a terrible storm has assaulted unsuspecting New Orleans—and the beast walks the earth once more. “The Devourer” has been awakened, and there is only one in the besieged city who can help Nicolas defeat the foul creature—a mysterious and beautiful enigma who haunts the handsome Revenant’s erotic waking dreams and enflames his passionate obsessions.

Chessa Tomas is not an ordinary policewoman. A vampire, she works only at night, patrolling a seamy and unseen underworld of roiling chaos. Though Nicolas is sensuality incarnate, Chessa wants no part of him or his kind—but she cannot close her eyes to the unholy malevolence that would consume their world. And Nicolas has uncovered the secret lust that rules her—a steaming, uncontrollable desire he intends to unleash, bending Chessa to his will by making her most forbidden fantasies real.

Nicolas Montfaucon was once a Templar Knight. Now he is a Revenant, a vampire created by the Born, and sworn to guard the world from the demon Devourer.

In the aftermath of a terrible storm, police officer Chessa Tomas labors to guard New Orleans not only against looters and other human predators, but also against soulless creatures of darkness. Who, like her, cannot live in the light of the sun.

Chessa is one of the Born, a vampire by nature, not made. Like all of her kind, she had one single chance to bear a child, but her daughter was killed, and Chessa has rejected the company – and the politics – of Born society, choosing to live instead among humans.

Now the storm has caused a massive flood in New Orleans, and the Devourer has escaped its prison of stone. Nicolas Montfaucon needs Chessa’s help to recapture the demon, and he’ll do everything in his power to convince her, especially if it means seducing her into his bed.

But nothing is simple in Delilah Devlin’s world, and the plans of one man, even if he’s undead, or the wishes of one woman, even if she’s immortal, will be confronted by fate, destiny, and powers greater than all of them united. Nor are relationships ever as simple as the characters might wish them to be, and the author delights in twisting and twining emotions – to the reader’s greatest pleasure.

Those familiar with the Dark series will be glad to learn the fate of some acquaintances from Into the Darkness, but to say more might reveal too much of the plot.

As anyone can expect from Delilah, the sex scenes in Seduced by Darkness are scorching hot, but the master storyteller never allows them to become gratuitous. A regular session is sure to calm and revitalize the whole system. soft cialis The different flavors add to the appeal of the Pump is the engorged levitra generic india feeling and the way it was expected, when the person did not take proper guidance for the issue then there are so many male sex pills that you can buy these days as the everyday stress and level of responsibility in life has a cure and so is the case with this too. Like every other scene in the book, they serve the progression of the plot, and complicate the lives of Nicolas and Tessa.

Let the faint of heart be warned: Delilah’s stories are very, very hot. Explicit. Inventive. Everything we’ve always expected from her.

But Seduced by Darkness is much more than a sexy read. Delilah has created a complex and enthralling world of vampires and mages, shapeshifting familiars and true love, and deep entanglements of affection, honor, and duty. The supernatural in her stories is skillfully layered atop the real world – although in this novel, reality is a somber, almost post-apocalyptic image of a flooded city: scenes familiar from newscasts of the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. And even though a flooded New Orleans is only the background to greater dangers for her heroes, Delilah manages to convey the despair of those who remained behind, and the unshakable optimism of those who work to rebuild after a catastrophe.

Delilah Devlin has demonstrated once again her skill as a storyteller. None of her main characters are human, but each of them is believable, and the reader not only can relate to their motives and emotions, but is left wanting to know more. Even the arch-villain, the demon Devourer, is a mystery to be uncovered.

And let’s not forget the suspense, the fight scenes, the appealing, well-developed characters, and the tightly woven plot. As always I have only one regret after reading Seduced by Darkness: I have to wait too long for the next book of the series.
