Subject: Nathaniel Peterson, SEAL instructor

Current status: Unexpectedly engaged in a sizzling kiss

Mission: Train the SEALs without interruption

Obstacle: Hailey Sutherland–the best kind of distraction!

Kiss the first man you see. The Fate Delivery Cards were a silly impulse purchase. But thanks to one of the Cards, bed-and-breakfast owner Hailey Sutherland finds herself locked in a scorching kiss with super-hot, wet-suit-clad navy SEAL Nate Peterson. It seems that fate is opposed to Hailey’s self-imposed celibacy….

Especially since Nate has picked up his own Fate Delivery Card–and he intends to follow it through… until Hailey is in his bed!

How can a woman, three times at almost getting to the altar, get over the fear that number four will fail like all the others have? Only a man determined and trained to reach the end game is up to the challenge and Nate, Navy SEAL and lover of cookies, is just the man for the mission.

I’m hard pressed to find anything that I didn’t like in this book. I found the first meeting between Hailey and Nate inspired, his pursuit of her romantic and fascinating, Hailey’s self-delusion entertaining and their sexy interludes blush-worthy.

I enjoyed their dialogue, both internal monologues and their conversational gambits as they learned about each other. I also appreciated the sibling relationship between Hailey and Rachel because Rachel wouldn’t let Hailey hide from her feelings. In her own sisterly way, she managed to prod the heroine into facing her true feelings while supporting her as Hailey muddled through this new and unexpected threat to her heart.

The addition of a secondary romance between Amy, a friend of both Hailey and Rachel, and her husband-to-be was a nice touch. Even if Hailey can’t figure out how to let go and risk her heart again, nothing was going to stop her from meddling and assisting someone else in getting their own happily ever after, and she’s got the perfect self-help book to do it. In fact, that was a very interesting side road to explore in this story. Seems Amy has some mixed-up ideas about sex and its role in a marriage. In addition, it’s nearly impossible to sleep in canadian viagra professional that much pain so a sleeping pill would be of some benefit too. They would truly best viagra india help men in getting rid of this problem naturally and securely. Abused men often hide out in abusive relationships because their shame getting viagra in australia unica-web.com shields them from change. The author did a nice job of weaving a little life lesson in there for women in real life. It wasn’t heavy handed by any means. Not only was it effective but it was fun, especially when Amy took control and let herself fly. Jake was a very happy man. And I was a very entertained reader.

As far as the conflict goes, it was a light one. SEALed and Delivered is a character driven romance with the plot being based on the hero and heroine ironing out their differences in what they wanted from and for each other, getting over a past, a dangerous job, a struggling family B & B and their own internal angst. There were no actual villains harmed in the telling of this tale — unless you count a deck of cards and the demolishing of innocent cookies.

SEALed and Delivered is an easy, breezy, steamy and delightful story that inspires hormones to hum and chuckles to break out. It’s a fantastic read for any time that a reader needs a book that explores the fun of falling in love. Ms. Monroe has a reputation for creating characters and situations that always deliver smiles, sighs and appreciation of unusual personality quirks. If a reader is in any doubt, pick up your own copy of SEALed and Delivered and see for yourself how much trouble a little deck of cards can be. It’ll be worth it.

About to lose his kingdom, Xavian is marrying for power—his wedding night will be purely for duty. As he unveils his new queen, nervous and naked, bathed in fragrant oils, he’s stunned that she’s as beautiful as the desert stars….

This queen deserves a royal bedding worthy of the Arabian Nights…and in her arms Xavian discovers that, though he may not have a kingdom, he has the strength and power of a thousand kings.

But this untouched queen could be his undoing….

What’s not to like about a queen falling in love with a king with a dual personality? It’s fascinating and there’s plenty of feeling and emotion to rope a reader into the plot. It was like watching a big cute caterpillar slowly morph into a bold and brilliant butterfly, set to spread his wings like the hero he is.

That’s how I saw Xavian’s character. He was handsome, born to rule and had everything he wanted, including a new queen. However, a reader can sense that there’s something percolating inside him that needs to see the light of day. If a reader is coming into this story fresh, then they’re going to interpret it as foreshadowing in a huge way. However, if a reader snatched up this novel because of the hook in the previous book by Ms. Marinelli, The Desert King’s Housekeeper Bridethen they’ll know exactly what is pushing through his brain. I read the previous story and I entered into reading Xavian’s story with excitement and great anticipation. I was not disappointed.

Poor Queen Layla. She doesn’t have the insight of reading a book about her new husband’s family. She’s as in the dark as a new reader would be. She knows something isn’t right with her own kingdom but just for awhile, she let it all go and discovered who she was as a woman. She was a queen, why should she have to settle for less, now that she understood the mysteries between a husband and wife. It didn’t hurt that Xavian was knowledgeable about such things and that he cared. Under his sensual touch and burning kisses, she came alive and it was a great scene. I especially liked the part with Baja in the tent. I got the impression that Baja’s own experiences with men weren’t as fun or inspiring. Thank goodness for the new generation of royalty because they are a lot more interesting to read about.

Another thing to admired about Layla was her fortitude, determination and the fact she ruled by sheer grit. The people she should trust the most, her advisors, were a great strain and because of them, her rule was a heavy burden on her shoulders. There was one scene that highlighted the differences between hers and Xavian’s kingdoms and I felt really bad for her. It wasn’t fair. That is why when things came to a head, the hero earned his hero status because he ‘saw’, and acted. It might seem odd, but that moment in time, for me, was one of the most romantic things that man did for his wife and made me sigh in delight. Other readers might choose something else as their pivotal romantic moment because

Ms. Marinelli certainly provided many to choose from.

Secondary characters were the triggers that shifted the focus of the story and ramped up the tension and suspense. Presented with the truth, the facts about the scars on his wrists, and the ramifications of his life, the hero had some hard choices to make. He wasn’t exactly graceful about it either. That’s the only thing that wasn’t perfect about this book — Xavian’s yo-yo shunning of Layla. I understood that he was going through an emotional morass, vacillating between accepting he was actually Zafir, a missing prince, and resisting it too. What I couldn’t accept was his reasoning that he was ‘giving her a choice’. Some choice if she didn’t even know what her options were because he initially, absolutely and unequivocally refused to tell her anything. How typical for a male character to assume a lady’s reaction and make a decision on that assumption instead of truly informing her and giving her the option. I expected more from his character because in every other aspect, he was a well written hero.

The dialogue was well done and the pacing always moved forward with no slow parts. Most of the story is told in either Xavian/Zafir’s POV or Layla’s. However, the author chose to briefly add one more POV from one of the secondary characters. I understood why she did it, but it was sudden and unexpected. Perhaps the author was stymied as to how to move the plot forward. It broke the flow but was effective and it did the trick.

Wedlocked: Banished Sheikh, Untouched Queen was everything I hoped for. It had a wonderful conflict, a strong hero and heroine, exotic locale and a delightful romance. I was thrilled with the plot resolution and the happily ever after. The greatest result of this story’s journey — Zafir now has the best of everything. After what he’d been through, he deserved it. Pick up your own copy to see why.

Housekeeper Effie, a practical yet slightly frumpy virgin, has been summoned to the desert to serve the sheikh!

Ruthless Sheikh King Zakari had gone to seek solitude in the sands, but nights alone are not something this ruler is used to. However, with his housekeeper at his service, there’s no need to allow his bed to grow cold….

After hot hours of passion, Effie’s heart is near to bursting. But what she doesn’t realize is that something has compelled Zakari to take her, a lowly servant, as his royal bride!

I do so love those sheikhs with their heavy burdens, traditions and blinders called ‘duty’. They always seem to focus on the big picture and usually get blindsided by this little thing called ‘love’. Lust they can handle and they are usually well versed in its nuances but the lessons they learn from that other tender, heart effecting and life changing emotion sends them for a loop. It’s fun because they often don’t handle it well. Such is the case with Sheikh King Zakari and it’s why I enjoyed reading The Desert King’s Housekeeper Bride.

Ms. Marinelli set the conflict up beautifully. Effie was so innocent, trusting and loving, and most of all, accepting. She knew her place and was satisfied with the status quo. How lucky she was to have caught the eye of Zakari, the hero. Beware of stories that start off like fairy tales. Throw in a man who is arrogant and vengeful and any fantasy can turn into an emotional quagmire on a dime. That’s the gist of Effie’s plight.

What I enjoyed about Effie is that she persevered and survived. The woman she becomes is forged by trial. She starts off so meek, and is happy to be so. Next she’s treated like she doesn’t know her own mind and is pretty much treated like a mannequin. One day she snaps and the emotional conflict and plot intricacies reach a heightened level of suspense and tension. The confident and wise woman inside bursts forth and the heroine stands her ground and manages to rock the world of her sheikh and her peers. The fallout is nothing less than spectacular.

As for Zakari, he really was mixed up in his head and heart. He has some incredible baggage that affected him at a young age so I guess it’s to be expected. His single minded goal, however, has consumed him to the point that he justifies everything he does in its pursuit. There is one decision he makes, however, that is totally unlike him. He wove a sand castle-type reasoning to justify it and tried to tie it into his quest but readers will eventually realize the true reason. The hero’s emotional state hadn’t matured at that moment. It will take the cold wash of reality and loss to understand what his brother had been trying to tell him all along. When he tried to correct his mistake he was met with a woman who humbled him, demanded respect and made him accountable for his actions – his wife.

I agreed with Effie. Zakari did turn a bit fast even for my tastes. Even though the heroine addressed it, I want to take it a step further. I think their reconciliation was too fast. I also think the scene with the big reveal could have been more dramatic. I’m not sure how the author could have done that but I was left thinking, “That’s it? No blanching of the skin, no bug-eyes, no crumpling of paper, no demands questioning authenticity, no grinding of teeth?” I would expect that kind of news to get some kind of reaction other than, or in addition to, what actually did get written. If Zakari is king, I guess I’m a drama queen, because I felt that scene fell a tad flat and I wanted more zing.

That being said, when they finally worked out their differences, it was interesting. I don’t mean it’s lame. I am talking about how the loose ends were tied up and how all the secondary characters reacted and treated the heroine. What was said and how it was done. The most amazing thing happened in the epilogue. The author tossed out a hook that I recognized instantly. I remember what Zakari told Effie earlier in the story and Ms. Marinelli, oh so naturally, slipped in a reason to make the next book an auto-buy. In fact, I bought it as soon as I was done reading this one. That’s how powerful the hook is.

The Desert King’s Housekeeper Bride was a pleasant surprise because of the intricacy of the relationship. Watching Effie grow from a meek maid into the woman she was meant to be was a wondrous thing to behold. Seeing Zakari also grow as a man whom one can respect because his love for Effie matured him in ways he never thought possible was delightful. Together it was magical and the happily ever after was better than any fairy tale because their love was already tested. It survived and they became stronger, together. Now that’s romance.

Jeweled veil weighing heavily on her head, Zoe Martin waits for her sheikh husband-to-be. The shame of her adoptive family, orphan Zoe has endured six years of being kept as a slave—now she’s been sold into marriage…to a man known as The Beast!

Being discarded to the sheikh has one bonus—this could mean freedom! Zoe must play along with the three-day—and three-night—ceremony, but she isn’t expecting the blazing attraction from just one stolen glance at playboy sheikh Nadir.…

The clashing of culture and customs create quite the conflict in this very emotional tale. An American woman faces the challenge of surviving a harsh and unforgiving country and grasps at any opportunity to escape. But ducking the surprising bonds of love turns out to be harder to break than the heroine thought, especially if they’re real.

Ms. Carr set up the whole vehicle for strife and distrust right from the very beginning. It was easy to accomplish because Zoe has been abused, humiliated and treated like dirt for many years and is stuck in a country that looks down upon her. What I liked about Zoe is that she wasn’t broken. Not yet at any rate. She still had hopes and dreams but she played them extremely close to her chest. She had to for self-preservation’s sake. She gambles with her life and although in the beginning it seems like she had lost, her journey was just beginning.

Nadir is a man who straddles both worlds. He understands duty and tradition but he’s also expected to bring his country into the modern age with technology and business. That’s hard to do when what he’s trying to do is a lie based on the fact that his countrymen don’t support his methods. It takes a man of extreme focus and determination pared with ruthless actions and business savvy to make it work. The author created a man that readers can root for because he doesn’t wear blinders. Sure he resorts to Neanderthal ways every now and again, that’s to be expected and makes for some hot spicy scenes with Zoe. But it’s his willingness to listen to Zoe, eventually, proved that he might not have been wearing blinders but had instead a version of rose colored glasses. It took Zoe’s impromptu intervention to show him how much her input should be valued. It’s at that point in the book that he became a true hero in my eyes.

Fortunately, the author did not go into any graphic detail regarding Zoe’s treatment by her uncle. The descriptions were heartbreaking enough. And her cousin Fatima is no Strawberry Shortcake either. I find it amazing that women can survive and rise above such treatment given half the chance. Nadir gave Zoe that chance and that made reading this story bearable. I found this book hard to read at times. I mean, I’m an American woman and I don’t have to censure what I say, what I wear or how I walk. To be expected to be less than what I am at all times would eventually break me. The thought is depressing. Putting myself in the heroine’s position was a very uncomfortable place to be and that’s a credit to the author’s writing. If her writing was any less stark or tight, my emotions would not have been affected. They were, in a big way.

The most beautiful part of the story was when I realized that both Nadir and Zoe were falling in love. What one did for the other because they wanted to, needed to, spoke volumes of how far both of them had come by the end of the story. As with most types of these books, the ploy of overhearing part of a conversation that leads to one more piece of drama before it all gets resolved and everyone gets their happily ever after was utilized effectively. I was a bit shocked as to the source. For some reason I thought he would have understood or at least respected that Nadir was actually, finally, happy. I kind of hope that he gets his own feisty heroine someday, then he’ll understand.

The Tarnished Jewel of Jazaar is a book that entertains and takes a reader on a journey filled with emotions and feelings. The finale was peaceful, romantic and true to all time-loved happily ever after endings. The dialogue is insightful, the romance scenes were wonderfully done and although harsh at times, the story is compelling. It’s a quick tale but well worth taking the time to read.

Guys don’t tend to find gals with guns too sexy. So after years of awkward fumblings, deputy Shelly Lancaster is lookin’ for a man . Not for love—good Lord, no. She just wants some hot, heavy and unforgettable sex with a man who knows exactly what he’s doing!

As it turns out, Shelly’s just found the perfect guy. Cowboy Colton Braddock is tasty as hell—and one of the perks of being a vampire is that he has years of hot, lusty loving under his belt. Unfortunately, this cowboy also has a wicked thirst for vengeance. But will it prove stronger than his hunger for her?

This romance has the perfect bite!

I’ll admit right away that I’m a sucker for Kimberly Raye’s books. Yes. I love her vampires and when I got the chance to nab this book, I jumped. This book is part of a series and yes, I’ve read the others, but I didn’t have to in order to know what was going on. The writing was tight and flowed well, drawing me right into the story. And yeah, the sexy cowboy vampire didn’t hurt one bit.

This book grabbed me from the start. A want-ad with sexy connotations and one glaring mistake. Shelly’s name printed right on it. Oh and her email, too. Yeah, what a way to begin a novel. I loved it. She wanted to let go and experience a man with experience. Interesting premise, especially for hot romance–it’s usually a story arc reserved for erotic romance. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t a sweet romance by any means. It’s hot and when Shelly and Colton really get going, they steamed up my glasses. I liked seeing the other characters from the previous books in the series. This also looks like it could be a wrap up of the series, to which I beg Ms. Raye to continue anyway. Did I mention I love her cowboy vamps? I sure do!

If you want a book that’s got lots of heat, a sheriff willing to offer her body to one scintillating vampire and a guy with fangs (yes, he knows how to use them), then this is the book for you.

The shy, studious one among the royal Devereaux family of Chantaine, Pippa wasn’t known for controversy.

So her brief romance with Texas tycoon Nic Lafitte—of the detested-by-the-Devereaux Lafittes—had to end. Too bad Pippa couldn’t get the darkly handsome, modern-day outlaw out of her mind!

Given their generations-long family feud, Nic was stunned when the sweet princess secretly defied the Devereaux clan to fulfill a Lafitte’s dying wish. But if Nic gave in to his attraction to Pippa, he’d break her heart—again. He tried to resist her…until a night of passion led to a little Devereaux-Lafitte! Now the royal and the Texan have to somehow bring two worlds, and two families, together.

This tender and poignant romance is a read-in-one-sitting story with elements that might require a box of tissues to be on hand. Ms. Banks put a lot of heart and soul into creating her characters because if she hadn’t, I wouldn’t have cared as much as I did about Nic or Pippa.

Many books are written about feuding families and a child from each growing up and somehow overcoming their differences and fall in love. That’s the basis for this tale but the author put a different spin on what brings the hero and heroine together. In fact it was so effective, it zinged directly to where my heart was softest and my emotions the most vulnerable.

The back cover blurb was a bit misleading. This tale is solidly about the growing relationship between Pippa and Nic. It’s about the hurdles they had to overcome, the preconceived notions of the past and one woman’s kind-hearted, compassionate and strong moral compass. I think Pippa did the most growing and in the process, she taught her own family about forgiveness and redemption. Certainly the power of love cannot be denied. I’m not talking about physical love between the sheets. I mean the love between a son and his mother, the love of family and the love between a wife and her husband. All of those are what makes life worth living and the sacrifices that are made to protect that love is what gives this story the power it has to affect a reader’s emotions.

Pippa was a delight. She’s a bird in a royal gilded cage and she struggled to be what her family wanted and needed her to be. But it wasn’t what she needed. It wasn’t until she met Nic, then his mother, that gave her a better understanding of just how trapped she was, what she was missing and it gave her the inspiration to strike out for independence. It’s not without cost but I admired the heroine’s character because she was willing to pay the price. She didn’t love her family any less, but there’s another kind of love worth fighting for, she just didn’t realize that’s what she was doing in the beginning. A reader can see her love for Nic grow. The author puts hints here and there, little phrases or internal comments from Pippa’s POV that showed the progression of her connection to Nic.

Nic was a surprise. At first, readers are under the same impression as the Devereaux family, that he’s no good, a bad influence and to be avoided. However, once I got to watch him with his mother, watch him as he responded to Pippa, I grew to adore his character. Still waters run deep and what Nic bears on his shoulders is impressive and yet he never made a big deal about it. A lesser man would have buckled and run from such responsibility. Not Nic Lafitte. Towards the end, a reader gets full disclosure and it will simply astound a person that the hero bore what he did. Every mother should be blessed with a son like Nic. It brought tears to my eyes.

The tears really showed up with the introduction of Amelie, Nic’s mom. The strength of her character and its influence fueled the plot’s conflict as it weaved throughout the book. It affected how the hero and heroine came together, and what kept them together. Shared pain tends to be a bonding experience between people and the fact that Pippa ended up loving Nic’s mom as much as he did truly tugged the heartstrings. It was beautiful as it was tragic. Ms. Banks treated Amelie with respect all the way through. Her pain, her hopes, her little joys, all made her character real so when the eventual thing happened, it was all the more powerful. The paragraph with the butterflies was the most stark and heartfelt of the whole book. That’s when I needed the tissues.

I liked the dialogue, the character interaction and the pacing of the story. I enjoyed how the romance grew and matured and I had a lot of fun meeting Goldie, one of Nic’s helpers at the cottage. I liked the family component with all its prickles and spines and I was entertained with the all the little kids running around the palace.

The Princess and the Outlaw is a book about heart, family and love. It illustrates what is really important in life and that historical grudges have no value or power except to hurt and destroy. The strongest characters, and the ones that make the most impact on a reader, are those that stand up for what they believe in and pursue their dreams into the future. That is what Nic and Pippa eventually do and what makes this story work so well. It’s an awesome read and well worth taking the time to spend it getting to know Nic and Pippa. You’ll be glad you did.

Arizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it’s dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan—and their chemistry—shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there’s an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero….

Toughness overload!

I know when I open a book by Lori Foster, I’m in for a treat. This book met my expectations. It’s hot, sweet and packed with action. The writing is tight and kept me in my seat. Yeah, I stayed up late to finish the book because I couldn’t put it down.

Spencer and Arizona are quite a pair. I’d read people complaining about the age difference between them. She’s rather young (21), and he’s a tad older than her, but it’s not unrealistic. I didn’t see the age difference as a deterrent. Heck, I forgot their ages from time to time. Ms Foster’s story deals with human trafficking. This is not a subject for the weak spirit and might not be for all readers. The things Arizona was forced to do are hard to stomach. Ms Foster writes it with a fluidity that kept the topic from being too harsh or preachy. I liked how she handled things. To that end, Arizona struggles with her past. There are moments when it didn’t come across to me that she’d been through some really rough stuff. That said, I can’t assume how anyone whose been in the situation Arizona’s been in, how they would deal with life. Sometimes she came across a bit immature and other times almost too tough to believe. I saw this behavior as a coping mechanism and it didn’t bother me as much as it could’ve.

Still, there is a lot of tenderness and a great deal of heat in this book. Reading how Spencer and Arizona have their story is quite touching. I’m glad I got this book for review and will happily read it again.

It’s bedtime—and bestselling authors Rhonda Nelson and Tawny Weber have two deliciously wicked tales to tell you… The Steadfast Hot Soldier by Rhonda Nelson

Army ranger John “Bear” Midwinter has two rules when it comes to the ladies—no tiny women, and no dancers. So why does petite ballet teacher Veda Hayes turn his blood into liquid fire? Still, the heat between them won’t be denied. Will this soldier melt…or burn up?

Wild Thing by Tawny Weber

Compared to her beautiful siblings, groomer Andrea Tanner always felt like an ugly stepsister. But when she’s left tied up and fuming, her prize pooch, Medusa, stolen, Andrea can’t help hoping her prince will come. And he does. Hunky P.I. Percy Graham arrives in time to save the day—and to remind her that he hasn’t forgotten the naughty night they once shared….

Humor, mystery, male confusion and female mayhem are only the tip of the iceberg in the two fun stories that make up this delightful and entertaining book.

The first one has a yummy title, The Steadfast Hot Soldier which is quite accurate in describing the hero, John Midwinter. He’s a solder coming home to help out his mom. Sounds so sweet, loyal and benign, doesn’t it? Not so fast. His mom is not Donna Reed or Claire Huxtable but more like a flighty Mommy Dearest. It’s amazing he’s as well adjusted as he is but no one can be emotionally unscathed growing up in that kind of household. What’s it going to take to bring a soldier some peace and happiness? Certainly not a brash and aggressive woman. Nope, he needed a tiny dancer.

Veda is a sweetheart. She has some New York experience under her belt so she’s not as countrified as John expected her to be. I enjoyed how the heroine slowly chipped away at John’s preconceptions and resistance little by little and the only tactic she used was being herself. She has her own baggage to deal with, like an interfering over-loving mother, and a bird that quips jokes and complains of bunions. She’s got a big heart, and a huge crush on John, a/k/a Bear.

I loved how John/Bear went with his instincts. It caused a whole new kind of conflict between him and Veda which ultimately leads to what a reader expects; them falling in love for real and a happily ever after. What’s awesome is the sense of humor and tongue-in-cheek encounters that lead to real …tongue in cheek, and other places, which lead to some very steamy and exciting encounters between the two. Their passionate encounters were placed well in the story and the author wrote them with vivid language that highlighted the action.

Another great aspect of this story is the townspeople. The author effectively tapped into what makes a community vibrant and interesting: gossip, well meaning manipulation, a sense of connection and a competitive baking contest. John/Bear finds something equally valuable and stunning the longer he stays in the town he never wanted to come back to. When I combined the townsfolk viewpoint of him, Veda’s tender and accepting love, and the final revelation of what the town of Hydrangea actually offered the hero, it generated a very warm and happy feeling.

The Steadfast Hot Soldier is entertaining, delightful, certainly spicy but full of charm and ends up with a wonderfully satisfying happy ever after.

The next novella, Wild Thing by Tawny Weber, is an incredibly exciting who-done it combined with a whacky and unlikely romance. There are more laughs and passionate sighs in store for readers and it’s guaranteed fun.

Percy is the put upon hero who has gone to the dogs. He’s a macho P. Does that mean you will have to compromise on quality to save a few bucks? The answer is no. you won’t have to make any compromise as levitra generika http://www.slovak-republic.org/holidays/ is also composed of sildenafil citrate and is similar to the original formula of sildenafil citrate, and is actually not the first drug that has been created to address erectile dysfunction. If you need to talk to the doctor, you may read this and at least understand that the problem occurs to the female also, but it order cheap viagra does not permanently treat ED forever. I. who has better, more important things to do, like save his sanity, than search for a spoiled yappy puppy. However his ever faithful and convincing secretary bullies him to do this one last, little, easy, quick and painlessly simple innocuous case. Nothing is ever that smooth and uncomplicated and I was already grinning with anticipation. Sure enough, Percy finds trouble in spades and curves and flashing eyes as he finds the source of all his inner turmoil and personal strife gagged and tied up in a chair. Why is that sweet innocent woman the cause of his internal angst? I’m not saying. It’ll ruin the fun.

Andrea is in a bind – literally. The last person she expects to see is the one that walks through her business’s door. That whole scene is pretty darned funny and again, I’m not going to give details. Suffice to day, it set the tone for the story as well as the conflict, and it makes clear that the push-pull attraction that exists between the heroine and Percy is going to be one of the funniest highlights of the story. And the most rewarding, and hot and very romantic.

The most endearing character is Medusa. I think those dogs are weird looking and certainly Percy starts off in agreement. What’s adorable is how Percy slowly yet inexplicably finds himself changing his perceptions and opinion about the little canine. And the dog’s response to him is pure giggles and sweetness. Ultimately, he becomes a warrior on Medusa’s behalf and it gets pretty exciting.

The mystery is about trying to figure out who is really trying to kidnap the dog. There are a lot of suspects and the answer isn’t a simple one. The author wove a wonderful and interesting criminal plot throughout the story to spice up and complicate Andrea and Percy’s growing relationship.

What the hero does at the end is clever, shifty and downright genius and it turns out to be the best engagement gift a man could give to a woman like Andrea. It’s the key to making their happy ever after possible and it gave me the warm and fuzzies. There were a couple of emotional loose ends that the hero and heroine tied up at the end and the final line in the book was a hoot.

Wild Thing ended as it began, with a grin. Ms. Weber consistently shares her sense of humor with readers through the antics of her characters and she’s succeeded again. I was thoroughly entertained from beginning to end.

Blazing Bedtime Stories, Volume VII isn’t a book that will put you to sleep, instead those bedtime stories will help you dream saucy and sexy dreams with delicious heroes that know how to love their women. It’s a great read and I recommend this book for any reader who likes a variety of action, heart, mystery with grand and romantic gestures and happily ever afters that satisfy. Ms. Nelson and Ms. Weber sure know their way around romance.

Adopting the guise of a buttoned-up spinster is nothing new for Chloe Hardwick. But under the watchful eye of her unnervingly handsome employer, the Marquess of Marland, for the first time Chloe yearns to be unbuttoned! Yet he sees her only as his assistant, the efficient Hardwick—not as Chloe the woman.

Determined to escape Braedon’s cold detachment, Chloe leaves. And when he pursues her to London, determined to entice her back, Braedon is utterly unprepared for what he finds there—the real Chloe Hardwick….

Yanking off the buttons was never this exciting or sexy.

I’m still new to historical romance and wasn’t much of a fan. I’ve since changed my stance on historicals. Why? Because I read Unbuttoning Miss Hardwick. Ms. Marlowe’s words flow from the page. I felt like I was right there rushing down the road in the phaeton, feeling the wind whipping my hair. I could see the characters well and am looking for my own Braedon. Goodness, he is yummy.

There are many layers to this novel. Peeling them back was a lot of fun. Chloe is very complicated. Once her back story comes to the forefront, I was able to fully respect her. I loved the line about her buttons and what happens to them. I’ll leave it at that because it’s a great little surprise. Braedon, as sexy as he was, drove me berserk more than a few times. I understood his motivations well. Ms. Marlowe does a great job of layering him. But what irritated me about him was how he held back. Like I said, I understood it and liked how his back story was unfolded. Getting irritated with him was a good thing because it got me thinking about him long after the book closed. That doesn’t happen often, so I chalk it up to Ms. Marlowe’s excellent story telling.

My favorite character was the boy. I won’t go into much detail about him, but I liked the way he was worked into the story and how he played a part in the ending. Very nice.

The sensuality was the right amount. Enough was left to the imagination that I could picture what happened and fill in the blanks the way I wanted. Loved it.

If you want a romance that’s heavy on suspense, emotion and filled with characters you won’t forget, then this book is for you.

A Ferrara should never share a bed with a Baracchi—however high the stakes!

Dark-hearted Santino Ferrara has always remembered how long-legged, hot-tempered Fia Baracchi felt in his arms—much to his frustration. Then a million-dollar business deal throws them together, and keeping his distance is no longer an option.

But Fia is living a lie. If it’s ever discovered that her precious little son is Santino’s heir, she’ll be disowned—their families’ feud is legendary! But her real fear? That she can’t forget the scorching memories of her one night with the enemy—and that she still craves more.…

I thought that Cristiano was a tough nut to crack but his brother, Santo has a more challenging situation to deal with in The Forbidden Ferrara as readers are treated to an unusual spin in this engaging romance. You know the old saying, “The grass is always greener on the other side”? In this story it’s the truth and the conflict is compelling and fascinating.

Imagine a woman who yearns for a family life filled with love, affection and unconditional support. What she grew up with was pure dysfunction at its harshest; add in a poisonous feud between that perfect family and her own and readers will find a woman worth reading about. Fia’s strength of character comes through by her determination and focus in breaking the toxic shackles that bind her. She has reasons for her single minded pursuit of her ideal life and it becomes all too clear when both protagonists are together.

The way Santo is written fascinated me. At first, it was all about him; his feelings, his interpretations and how he justified his resulting actions. He feels strongly, passionately and hotly and yet he’s a man to be respected because no matter how livid he became, he remained rational, in control and never struck out in a physically vicious manner. He does have a sharp tongue though. I suppose calling him rational may be giving him too much credit. He’s gobsmacked in this story and watching him transition from 100% business to 100% personal was quite fun. Then the author has him transitioning to seeing the other side of the coin and, being the man he is, he admitted his fallibility – sort of. It’s amazing how men of wealth and power can take a messy situation and iron it out with authority. Oh, to have that kind of chutzpah.

Ms. Morgan allows a reader to be in both Fia and Santo’s heads, and through their internal dialogues I was able to see how their relationship changed from viewing each other as adversaries to accomplices. It wasn’t an easy road to traverse because there are a few presumptions, assumptions and a lot of hard feelings to work through. The author made their emotional conflict believable and relatable. Certainly, the impetus for their forced collaboration was powerful and very dramatic. Yet, for all the heartache, uncertainty and mixed-up communication, their physical attraction could not be denied. That was made very clear to me. Their bodies knew what their minds could not accept. At least, not until all the clutter from that ages old family squabble gets sorted out. How that happens was not only a surprise for me, but a shock to Fia, the heroine. It was one of the nicest surprises in the story and I liked the twist.

It’s not all strife and stress. At times Santo is delightful as a puppy, eager to please and so excited … well, excited puppies have accidents. Over eager men make blunders and gaffs of epic proportions and Santo, the shark of a businessman, gets a ‘goober’ award for some of his choices. He alternates between being wonderful and romantic to being a clueless male. Very fun to watch.

The most romantic element came from making a dream come true. This isn’t a fairy tale so it wasn’t a simple, magical fix. It was messy, volatile and had many ups and downs but the ultimate payoff made reading this story worth every flip of the page. I even enjoyed the brief cameos of Dani, Santo’s sister and his older brother, Cristiano. This book is a standalone read, but since I read the previous one, it was nice to see how the other couple was doing – like a love check-up.

The Forbidden Ferrara once again illustrates why Ms. Morgan is one of my favorite authors. She writes about people that feel, that triumph over seemingly impossible odds, and celebrates the joys of new-found love. It’s a spicy sweet romance with thorns that kept me glued to its pages until the final love-filled moments. It’s an enjoyable read.
