The initial meeting between the two is magical, as it was meant to be. Then real life comes along and throws the hero a curveball. Tabitha is not who he thought and of course he’s furious. No alpha male takes being duped lying down. Even though lying down was sort of the catalyst for what happens in the story.

Tabitha was an interesting Cinderella-like heroine. She’s sweet and beaten down but unlike the fairy tale, she has the capacity to save herself. She just doesn’t know it. I have no idea what a ‘twonk’ is but I grinned when the heroine used the word. Actually, she let loose some really great lines of dialogue throughout the novel and I enjoyed that tremendously.

I also liked reading about the few times Giannis’s heart experienced a wrenching feeling because I knew what that meant. The romance had begun and Tabitha was getting under his thick hide. Corporate movers and shakers who think they have life figured out, and everything in life is going to be on their terms because they have money and power, well, let’s just say they don’t handle things well when they discover they’ve been lying to themselves. Giannis most definitely didn’t handle it well. Being able to see inside his head was interesting because he was so torn! He beat himself up for wanting Tabitha but for some reason he just couldn’t resist her. It was driving him nuts. I knew what was going on and I thought his fractious behavior highly entertaining. This was so much fun!

The plot really took off when Niki, Giannis’s sister, pops in. The love game was afoot and perceptions started to get blown to pieces. I really liked the hero’s sister. She was fun.

The passion between the two is off the charts and a reader is treated to detailed, spicy/hot shenanigans leaving no doubt they are highly compatible. Volatile, but compatible.

When I finally got to the good stuff, when Tabitha reveals who she really is, what she’s been through and how pragmatic and sweet she still was, Giannis’s reaction was all I could hope for in a hero. Okay, he did make a few stupid ‘man’ decisions but once again Niki took him to task as only a sister could. I really, really liked his sister.

There’s actually a lot more I can say about this story but I’ll end here by saying that I absolutely enjoyed reading The Greek’s Pregnant Cinderella. For fans of the fairy tale trope, this is excellent brain candy and I definitely recommend reading this one.

Turn the page and begin this marriage of convenience…

The story opens up with a sensitive scene with an aging horse. Very soon after, the hero arrives to save the horse, but his motives are like an iceberg, I only saw the tip of the conflict. His effect on Emily, the heroine, is rather telling. These romance waters are turbulent and run deep. What fun!

It’s stories like these that make me glad that they are told in the third person point of view. I can see that Alej and Emily are both hurting. I was curious as to what happened. You know, what tied them together in the beginning, and what could bond them now? How could they possibly find common ground with so much angst and past history in the way to have a future? This is a romance after all. And, Alej is the perfect alpha male with attitude so that gets in the way, too.

This is the typical ‘convenient marriage” plot with a twist. They used to want the real thing, badly. Then external forces overwhelmed Emily, and being so young, didn’t stand a chance against the force of more experienced, hardened people around her. I felt bad, at first. Then, I realized the crux of the plot is to have them fall in love now, as the people they’ve become with the baggage of their life’s experiences. Being more mature, more realistic and with a passion that has more of an impact, what kind of fireworks would come from their clash of wills? The scenes between the two were spicy and the bedroom door, and wherever else it happened, was wide open. Alejandro’s seduction of Emily was blatant and the descriptions left nothing to the imagination. Fortunately, there’s a lot of emotional byplay and push/pull of their personalities to see the romance advance; to see the hero’s perception change, little by little, to see him open up just that teensy weensy bit, giving Emily hope things could be worked out.

The one element that is classic is the hero’s propensity to justify every devious thing he does as payback. His emotions are volatile and his desire for revenge is paramount – or so he thinks. Why would someone want to go to THOSE lengths if he despised a person? Why would he buy certain things for a person he wanted revenge against? His actions belied his words. I liked it when Emily pushed back. She stood up to him just as a great heroine should.

The happy ever after was fulfilled by the epilogue. Since the characters were written well, I cared for them. The message of forgiveness was sweet, poignant and very satisfying. I enjoyed reading Bought Bride for the Argentinian.

There is something I enjoy so much about this author’s writing style! Her stories are simple plots but her talent for creating characters that seem so real with such big personalities is what impresses me. This is a good read that shouldn’t be missed. It’s a cute story of two adults that for some reason seem to not want to be open to let the person their in love with know how they feel. I really didn’t understand why but I didn’t focus on the reason why for long, instead I focused on the story at hand.

Single and fashionable Felicia Hawkins is a character that cares a lot for others and doesn’t seem to be able to find love of her own. Felicia is a strong-willed independent woman who deserves love and happiness. Richard Grimes is a caring widower with two small adorable and obedient daughters.

I enjoyed the story. It is a very cute story of two wonderful people who find love and I felt the author told their story so beautifully. It’s a quick read that’s bubbling with humor and a trait by this author of course, lovable characters. It’s spectacularly paced. I was engaged from the first page. I enjoyed the friendship between Felicia and Richard, even though I still wonder why Richard wasn’t open to tell Felicia how he felt. I love Pam, their co-worker’s meddling. Even though she always had a lot of work to do she found time to lay bread crumbs for Felicia and Richard. Her son Clyde is eccentric and even though his role was small his brief parts in the book tickled me.

This story did reach my heart to say life is too short and love can be right beside you. The author did a wonderful job creating such fascinating characters, she is one of my favorite authors that truly is talented in storytelling. Add this book to your reading list when your looking for something quick, humorous and a happy ending.

Honestly, this was a really good read. I didn’t realize it was the second book in a series until after I finished it. I sensed it was, so wasn’t surprised when I found out it indeed was part of a series. There was a sense of family and community that I connected with. Now, knowing that I missed the first book, I want to go back and start from the beginning.

I can report that Fast Lane was an entertaining read with super “cool” leading characters. The heroine is a NASCAR race car driver and the hero is a paramedic – a pretty awesome combination with so much potential to make a riveting story. While I can’t say it completely met its potential, I can say that it was a pleasant read. The heroine’s name was Trinity Calhoun and she is full of sass and strength with a touch of vulnerability. The hero’s name is Reece Balmain. He’s a bit weak and he can’t make up his mind in the difficult situation that he’s in. Reece made the story feel like a head banger with his “woe is me what should I do” attitude. I prefer my leading men to be confident.

Overall it was a heartwarming story involving several well-developed characters that were easy to relate to. As I said, I’d like to go back to the first book so I can get to know all other characters better that were present in Fast Lane. As much as this could be considered a standalone book, I felt that I was missing a connection that was developed earlier in the series.

If the synopsis sounds interesting to you then I’d recommend giving this book a chance. Reece and Trinity touched my heart and I am glad that I got to share their happily ever after love story.

Alexia, Lex to her friends, pictured her future in many different ways. Not once did include the smokin’ hot, broody, frustrating and yet hard to not think about member of Hell Ryder’s MC who lived across the street from her. Dave “Dodge” Roth is many things. Suave and charming are there, it’s just buried deep under a gruff, self-deprecating exterior.

I thought it was interesting how very similar Lex and Dodge really were in spite of their obvious different upbringings. How could a kindergarten teacher from a stable family find common ground with a foul mouthed, motorcycle riding mechanic? Reading the first several chapters it was clear that it would begin with a precious little three year old.

MC based books aren’t my ‘go to’ but the blurb of this one caught my attention and maybe it had something to do with the child. That’s one of my weaknesses in romance and this author did a fantastic job of making Cullen’s story just as integral and important and the what developed between Lex and Dodge.

My one major critique is this that there’s quite a bit of telling to move the story along the timeline. I prefer showing and dialogue. What her ‘telling’ did advance was the build up of chemistry and connection between Dodge and Lex. I didn’t mind that at all.

She also gave me glimpses into the other men and women who made up the first several books. As I said MC isn’t typically my thing but I enjoyed this one well enough to be interested in reading books 1 – 3. Picking up clues from Riding Hard leads me to believe that there’s some exciting and hard fought HEA’s in those books as well.

Reader’s who are offended by strong language might find Dodge and his brother’s a little hard to take but I’d tell them to look beyond their words and you’ll find some super protective, jealous to a fault, loyal hearts. Well worth the read.

Oh, then there’s that whole thing with Laurel and her relationship with her dad, hearing about her mom’s past. That was tough to witness but necessary. This book is full of feels!

It’s not all sad tears, though. Actually, I was smiling a whole bunch. Aunt Maxine is such a precious and fierce little lady. It was easy to see why Laurel loved her and why it hurt so much to watch her give up her independence as her health declined.

It was great to read a story where the guy wasn’t super model gorgeous. As an aside, after meeting the hero from the first book in this series, Nick, it proved that Ms. Stone can certainly give her readers the super hot guy. I’m already planning to go back and grab his and Clare’s story.

Doug certainly isn’t hard to look at but he’s also very real world kind of guy. Early in the story, and their courtship, I was looking forward to the point when Laurel would give in to the attraction and give him a real chance. When it happens, it’s pure romance at its best.

Laurel is seriously talented but good luck trying to convince her. This is one single minded, stubborn heroine if I ever read one. If I didn’t like her so much, I would have wanted to smack her with a convenient piece of art. As it turned out, I liked her a lot. She might be a bit hard to steer in the right direction but she’s loving, loyal and so very good for Doug. Don’t give up on her when she gets a little crazy.

This book was just the right length. Even after nearly 400 pages, I didn’t want it to end. No unnecessary filler. Just a good steamy love story.

This book is a sweet read that displays the concept of unconditional love. Another reason I enjoyed the book is that the author reveals some of the joys and challenges of the role of a caregiver. She didn’t bog the story down in the heaviness of Tabitha’s responsibilities and sacrifices but gave more weight to the romance between Tabitha and Marcus.

The characters are likeable and I believe the author touched on a topic that’s a lot more common than written about. This disease has touched my family firsthand so I commend Tabitha and her sisters in sharing the responsibility because caregiving is a life changing role and can weigh heavy on a person if they don’t have backup and resources to help. This leads me to wonder how much research the author did or was her sole purpose not to weigh the story down with in-depth heaviness of caregiving? There are resources that are offered and I couldn’t help but wonder why Tabitha and her sisters didn’t find out what was offered for help. It wasn’t until the end of the story when it was mentioned about getting Aunt Tweet a sitter. And I know firsthand that most people who have Alzheimer’s do not like a change of environment or new or unfamiliar people but Aunt Tweet didn’t seem to have any adverse reaction being around unfamiliar people except once during story time with the children.

I like the communication between the sisters and that they did video calls to keep in touch and check up on Aunt Tweet’s well being. I liked Marcus. He is a caring man and was there for a lot of people. His character seemed to be more developed than the others. We saw the business side of Marcus and his caring side. And it was a little scary and unreal how Marcus cared too much. He didn’t seem to hesitate or think twice about helping Latrice or Tabitha. Tabitha’s character didn’t seem to be as developed to me. All I can say about her is she’s a pharmaceutical rep and caregiver for her aunt. With the role she was in I wanted to see more realness, something readers in that role could relate to.

Though I enjoyed the book and reading about a real life illness the story was just too close to perfect and sweet for me. Readers who enjoy sweet happiness during a challenging situation, and no real suspense or drama would love reading this book.

It delivers on many many levels!

The story itself is well told, with well rounded characters. Each character has a strong voice, fitting to their time and station. Jeremy is well educated and privileged and Katy was bought up in Ireland. She isn’t a Lady, not in the way it means at this time, but she tries, when brought into Jeremy’s household as its head.

Jeremy makes no bones about what he wants from Katy, and Katy will give him that, but there is that undercurrent between them that bubbles along in the book, one that bursts its banks just when you don’t expect it to.

I loved that Jeremy, while he knew what he wanted to do to Katy, makes her wait; makes her understand what she is asking for. I loved that Katy takes things into her own hands, even if it tips Jeremy over into angry.

Some twists and turns I did not see coming too! Loved being kept on my toes! Absolutely loved that certain characters kept nothing from each other, and that Katy was surprised by that fact, given how she came into their lives.

This is, according to some websites, billed as book one in the Shades of Sin series. I wonder who might be next! A whole host of people here could fit under that title, and maybe some that would surprise me to be included. Would love to read it, whoever might be involved!

This is the first I’ve read from this author, and I hope it’s not the last! 5 stars.
