I laughed out loud at some of the images that came to mind as I read this one, and enjoyed watching as this mature woman went through the insecurities more often faced by teens as they move into adulthood. The world here is realistic and charming, and the characters are a true delight.

Cori Valentine is a strong, independent woman, but she is having trouble coping with the changes facing her. I enjoyed watching as her Marine ‘family’ helps her through what is, to her, the most difficult period in her life so far. I like that this character is not some silly teen or twenty-something, but a mature woman who needs to choose a new and sometimes frightening path for her life. I enjoyed watching as she grudgingly accepted those things she couldn’t change, and still bent them meet her own desires.

Sol Keller is Cori’s blind date, arranged through an agency called 1NightStand. Strong, gorgeous and ex military, he is the kind of man every woman dreams of. More important, he understands what Cori is going through, and does everything in his power to make her more comfortable on their evening together. He is attracted to Cori, and isn’t afraid to show her what he feels.

There is a lot of humor in this short story, from the unique shopping trip to the dancing lesson for the whole Marine unit. The attraction between Cori and Sol is instant and hot, and the restaurant scene absolutely sizzles with sexual tension. And it just gets hotter as the story moves along. I enjoyed watching as Cori discovered that there is life after the Marines, and I recommend this story for those who like new beginnings with some hot times tossed in.

Maxwell ‘Max’ Truitt is the Sheriff in his part of the Atlantic. As a shark shifter, he patrols the Atlantic waters, keeping the area safe for humans and shifters alike. He is strong and sexy and loyal to his friends and family. I liked his protective streak where Willa was concerned, and his total inability to resist her inner nymph when she popped in for a quick visit. I loved his noble idea that he wasn’t good enough for Willa, who is a princess, and how that idea clashed with the man who felt that she was his.

There are several intertwining threads to this one. Willa’s emerging nymph, the secrets of the past, and the danger still ready to pounce all come together to provide edge of your seat reading. There are several very hot scenes between Willa and Max, courtesy of the nymph, and the scene where Max and Boone finally break through the mind wipe to bring Willa’s past and present into alignment is one of the hottest I’ve read. The secondary characters are all well crafted, and I hope that Boone will get his own story somewhere down the line as well. Do Max and Willa find her Aunt Aurele, defeat Reva, and find a happy ever after? You will need to read Maximum Witch to find the answer to that one.

Werewolf’s Treasure is a great continuation of this series. Seeing the other werewolves and their mates from the previous books was a nice treat and it was nice to visit with the others from the pack again. I loved seeing Soren find his mate and cannot wait to see who will be the next to find theirs.

Her character seems perfectly crafted to show a woman in her times making due with few choices. Despite being presented as a blackmailer, she’s a very likable character and she treats the hero well considering all their differences.

Yes, the hero, Leo, lies to the heroine and those lies place her in danger. However one has to keep in mind, he’s a hero to a woman who is blackmailing her former protectors. He’s a man trying to catch our heroine in her underhanded tactics. The sexual part of the plot had one nit. For some reason the initial sexual consummation between Leo and Viola is not shown, only referred to after the fact. I found that a little jarring and felt thereafter like I had just caught a train while it was running and was struggling to gain my bearings in the story. But that sense faded fairly fast, though I still felt sort of cheated at not getting to see the start of their affair. The sexual scenes are more sensual than emotional. It works for this story and these characters. It’s easy to see how Viola and Leo are right for each other they just have a cooler emotional effect when they come together than another pair of characters might. The sexual scenes are sexy and written to a spicy level of heat. Those scenes are the heart and soul of Ripe for Pleasure, just as it should be for an erotic romance.

Viola’s dog Pen is a charming companion and added a nice, lighthearted touch. Leo’s sister Beau is a charming character and one I am looking forward to hearing more about in the next book, Ripe for Scandal. I thought that Leo restrained himself too long in dealing with the villain. I didn’t totally buy that he had to because the villain was family. There’s a nice clever twist at the end that I liked very much.

Overall this was a fast-paced, sexy read and I recommend it to anyone looking for something different and spicy in a historical romance. I will certainly read Ripe for Scandal.

It’s a realistic plot line that had me turning the pages because Arden’s search for true love sounds plausible. It also had some humor which once again reminded me of a chick lit story. I really wish this story could have been longer so I could have read more about these two characters interacting. That’s my only complaint.

I haven’t read any other books by this author before but this one has definitely piqued my interest and I’ll be checking out more.

If you’re looking for something to read on one of the first chilly nights of the fall, this one is definitely worth checking out.

I found the plot to be fantastic and well thought out with a lot of heat and sweet romance that kept me captivated until the end. Combine two alpha males who had been lovers in their youth, and a strong and determined woman who lived through hell as a teenager to become a top notch bounty hunter, and I ended up reading a unique and very heated love story.

The story takes place on another world called Arcadia. I thought it was neat watching her well thought out plans fall apart in the face of one hot man. When Lou’s boss, Jared Flores, finds his ex-lover Sam in bed with Lou things really heat up.

I couldn’t help but be fond of all three of the characters as they became entangled in a threesome. I admired how they worked together in and out of bed. I was impressed at how entertaining the book was especially with the cute twist to the ménage theme. The Last Detail is one story I will definitely be keeping in my library to read again.

Raine Brinsley is an amazing woman. She is emotionally sturdy and very level headed. Though she has no experience with any form of labor or running of a household, she decides she would rather work then take a hand out. As the story progresses, she holds firm and perseveres, by not being foolish and swooning to Derek’s charm and standing up to him when he was an arrogant jerk. I truly enjoyed everything about her.

Derek Stafford is the second born to a prominent Virginia family. He has survived the death of his wife and all of his children. He’s heart is beyond the ability to love. His practical side is determined to produce an heir for the estate before his brother does. Derek’s emotions have been put on the back burner due to his loss in life. One sight of Raine though and his walls start to crumble.

I felt like I was in the period, but could sit back and enjoy the essence of the book, the romance.

This is also a well paced novel. The set up was thorough and well thought out. I could feel the desire building between Raine and Derek and understand their reluctance to grasp it. This story is on the very light erotica side. The sex scenes were pleasantly written, more quality then quantity. In fact, they were perfect.

Every single word in the book was exquisitely used and there was no fluff or filler. The author blended everything together perfectly. Her depictions of the characters, historical ambiance, sexual electricity and heady romance enhanced the story superbly.
