This is one book that I am glad that I got my hands on and would recommend to my friends to read and one author whose book I am looking forward to purchasing.

Wow, what an opening to this story, both the main characters in the wrong place at the wrong time…in a bank while it’s being robbed. This hooked me straight away and I enjoyed the witty banter between these two while all this is going on. When the scare is over and they go their separate ways you’re hoping they meet up again and soon.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but it really didn’t matter because the author features some of the characters from other stories and gives a quick run through on who they are and their relationship to Matt. He’s hot, hunky and when Savannah is cold to his advances, you feel for but him but know she can’t resist him for long.

When the two do get together, it’s hot and sexy and just when you think things are going to work out, Savannah plays even harder to get. There’s a very sexy ménage a trios in the middle of the story with another hot, hunky male who’s a friend of Matt and appeared in another story. You do wonder if Savannah will ever commit to Matt and begin to worry that maybe she’ll continue to play it cool.

However, this is a romance and the ending is very satisfying. Dialogue and pacing are both spot on for this short read. In fact, the author does a first rate job with adding enough back story without you getting lost, but not too much that it interrupts this couple’s story. This one definitely has me wanting to read more books in this series.

Mutual understandings and commonalities aside, they both carry a wariness around the other. The temptation to trust is great, but the repercussions of past mistakes make them both extremely cautious. When you’ve been used and abused by others for personal gain, how can you ever trust again?

I really appreciate Ms. Donahue’s penchant for creating lead characters with flaws. Her characters aren’t conventionally beautiful or perfect, so it makes them more appealing. Most people can relate to growing up in some respects too early and quickly, so a connection between the reader and the characters is instantaneous. This story has a very enjoyable contemporary edge with the technology and dialogue used throughout with a pacing that was easy to manage. The unfolding of the story is unpredictable with a completely unexpected and surprising ending.

Fans of Ms. Donahue’s work will immediately recognize her erotic style and the romantic adventure experience she projects to readers through her writing. Those who have not given this addicting author a try, should absolutely start with this incredible story.

When Mikayla can’t break out of the depression she’s been in since the miscarriage, the men decide she needs to visit her doctor back on Earth and maybe also spend some time with her friend Tracey. She is terrified of becoming pregnant again, and doesn’t know how to tell them.

It doesn’t help matters that one of the scientists on the planet has decided to try and take a couple of Mikayla’s men away from her, and that Peter’s ex-fiancée is making more threats to their happiness. Is it any wonder she begins to doubt whether she is enough for all her husbands? Can the men convince Mikayla she is all they want and need? Can they find a way to stop Peter’s ex once and for all? Can Mikayla get her fighting spirit back in time stop things from going wrong?

Mikayla has been through a lot in a short while, and it is finally getting to her. Although she loves all eight of her husbands, for the first time she questions whether she made the right choice for them. She is still recovering from her miscarriage, and also has a vitamin deficiency from living off planet for so long. Mikayla is a strong character, but she loses a bit of herself and her confidence with the health problems she has. She becomes overwhelmed, and begins to doubt her own choices. I sympathized with her, and was delighted to see her turn it around toward the end of this story, and begin to show that spark she had in the beginning.

Mikayla’s husbands are all still totally devoted to her happiness, but, like typical men, they don’t get how losing the baby affected her so deeply. I liked that they were willing to give her the space and time she needed to come to terms with things and open up in her own time. Each man brings something different to the relationship, but their love is what will finally get Mikayla through it all.

There are some hilarious scenes here, especially when the raiders are exposed to the ‘mouse tears’. Some of the secondary characters are interesting, and I hope to see more of Tracey and her husbands in the rest of this series. Does Mikayla reveal her doubts and fears to the men she loves? You’ll have to read Keen Inclination to get the answer. But, as always, this series must be read in order, as these are not stand-alone books.
