When he becomes an officer in the county of Claremont a hellion named Liza Wright begins to disturb his peace of mind. She’s sexy, sassy and a distraction that he can’t resist.

One night at the bar turns heated when they find themselves in a game of pool that goes against all the rules and neither of them can walk away from. When a serious accident lays him up for weeks, he comes to discover that there’s more to this princess than he first imagined.

As they grow closer, his world is tilted on its axle when he discovers that Liza’s life is in danger. Once he rescues her, Thor realizes Liza has stolen his heart and there’s nothing left for him to do, but apprehend her.

Here comes trouble, but trouble never looked so good!

Hunky Brad “Thor” Zeller, ex-Air Force turned deputy police, knows trouble when he sees it, and looking at the Major General Michael Wright’s gorgeous daughter, Liza Wright, jet around town in her little red convertible, Thor just knows she is Trouble with a capital T.

Liza is tired of being judged by her “upbringing!” She has just finished an all day study session at Florida State, preparing for her Master’s graduation in Childhood counseling, so that she can work with troubled children in her hometown in Claremont County Florida. Liza loves her hometown but is feeling the stress of putting everything including dating on hold for so many years to concentrate on her studies.

Now at age 27, Liza is wondering if the time has come to concentrate somewhat on her non-existent love-life.

After several encounters with each other, Liza and Thor finally hook-up one night and WOW! The chemistry between these two lovebirds is highly combustible! Who knew?

Soon tragedy strikes in the middle of this love affair, when Thor is injured on the job. But Liza is there to help him mend. Major suspense comes into play making this mystery a ‘toe-curling” drama as well as a cute and sexy love story.

Yvette Hines did a great job of combining romance and suspense into one good short story. I found myself easily pulled into the characters anticipating there next move. The love scenes were very HOT and I could not help but read this story from beginning to end non-stop. This short-story could have been even better if it had been a bit longer platform so the readers could really experience the thrill of the action. I would have loved to have seen the back story of the drug runners more detailed, so we could grow to hate our villains. I would also have loved to see Liza’s kidnapping drawn out a bit more, giving the readers a chance to really fear for her life.

But as I have said before in my reviews, some of these short-stories would make excellent novels if the writer had so desired to elaborate.

I cannot fault the story for what it was though, a cute, short, love story with a mystery thrown in. I found no grammar or spelling errors, and the story flowed well, making me glad I picked this story to review. I will be keeping it as a favorite, and possibly reread it again in the future.

Do you like a little mystery and suspense thrown into your hot love story? Well this story is for you!

Running for her life, Chantrea Morgan, unmated and approaching her time of change, stumbles through the night only to be rescued by a gorgeous yet dangerous male. Blinded by instant recognition of her mate, she clings to him, her only means of salvation. Her body burns for him. Her heart aches with the need to be claimed by this wild Texas panther.

Hudson Cates, warrior of the Turquoise Moon tribe of shifters, saves his grieving mate and brings her home to claim her in the only way he can…with orgasmic pleasure, savage possession and a raw sensuality that is bred into their species. In a ritual as old as time, only he, aided by another male from their tribe, can help Trea embrace her panther beast.

How does a traumatized young panther shifter woman deal with the horror of being hunted by the drunken rednecks who have just shot and killed her parents? Especially when one look into the eyes of the magnificent man who happens to be there to save her reveals with sudden and shattering clarity that he is the one who will be her mate for life? The added shock of that recognition along with his irresistible scent overwhelms the desperate woman with a stunning surge of wildly thrilling sexual power that is natural when one of their species first meets their mates. Only the gentle nurturing and care of the gorgeous, sexy man can calm and heal the emotionally tortured young woman. He is everything she needs.

Ms. Carlysle has created a sweetly complex heroine in Chantrea Morgan. She is a study in contrasts, both feisty and vulnerable…an open-hearted, strong young woman who captured my interest and admiration. Trea is about to complete the dangerous and exciting change from woman to panther that all young ones of her species face. The lovely female shifter is brave, trusting and eager.

This change brings on violent episodes of elevated sexual heat which can go on for days or even weeks and is potentially fatal. Fortunately, she is in the capable, experienced and devoted arms and home of her newly found mate, Hudson Cates. Hudson, as is the custom of his kind, has chosen his best friend to be his second in the sexual transition of his long awaited and beloved mate. Trea is also in the panther shifter tribe’s territory among supportive friends and protectors. These shifters are committed to finding and bringing to justice the murderers of her parents, who continue to hunt her. I was fully engrossed and captivated by the community and lives of the panther tribe and the world that the author so skillfully and eloquently created. The love story was beautifully written and consuming in both it’s tenderness and passion. I was also absorbed by the suspenseful plot which involved the violent, disgusting men they had to deal with.

This was one of the hottest books I’ve read in ages. I was really impressed with the intensity and passion between the characters, both sexually and romantically. Reading the unfolding of this sensitive and erotically powerful love story was truly a joy. If not for a few editing mistakes, I would have rated it higher. The quality of writing was excellent in every way… the story engrossing, the characters delicious, the sex scorching and wild. I was so drawn in by the characters’ experiences that it was like living it myself.

I recommend this book to everyone, especially if you love a good paranormal romance. Panther Moon is the second in the series, Savage Sanctuary.

New Orleans, 1834. Lark La Beau is a green-eyed beauty and respected beneficent voodoo priestess with the sometimes uncooperative gift of clairvoyance. Captain Valcour Curry is a debonair, larger-than-life buccaneer with ambition to burn and a taste for fine things. Following a whirlwind romance with Lark, he disappears at sea, leaving Lark with a riverboat and a child to rear—alone.

A guilty act of piracy causes Valcour to fall victim to a shapeshifting magician who practices the dark art of soul-swapping. For five years Valcour has been enslaved as an emotionless zombie with no memory of his loved ones or past. From dusk to dawn he is cursed to toil in the cane fields while the evil magician uses his soul to lure women and have his brutal way with them.

Lark will risk hell and journey to the oppressive Broken Oak Plantation to break the curse. It’s a terrifying place. Her only tools to call Valcour’s lost soul back to life are voodoo and the sensual power of love.

Sugar Roux Voodoo has love, with just a touch of voodoo-like flavoring and some heart-felt, sugar sweet lovemaking with a little New Orleans spice thrown in there for good measure. Sound like something you are looking for? Well, then read on.

Lark La Beau is portrayed as a strong, spiritual woman who cares deeply for those around her, especially her family. She’s training in the voodoo arts and beliefs, although it is a fictional type of voodoo dreamed up by the author for this story. Leon calls it “Beneficent voodoo”. Lark is in her mid-twenties and has been sheltered from men. The explanation for her innocence and unmarried state at such an advanced age for this time period was done in a believable way.

Captain Valcour Curry is charming, polite, and chivalrous. Highway, hills, forest and sometimes even buying generic cialis high rise buildings located in the middle of city. Hence if you are facing problems with sexual activity, or you’re having low libido, then it is better that you opt for generic sample viagra online. Something has a sinister hold over Valcour and it is this dark force and its influence on him that provides most of the conflict between him and Lark. Lark is determined to use every bit of power she has as well as the power of her love to win.

In the sex scenes the language is that of erotic romance and there’s a very erotic story told in dialogue between two characters, which is where the anal sex and forced seduction come into play. However, the action of the sex between hero and heroine is more sensual and warm, full of emotion. It’s more like spicy romance than erotic romance in those parts. That’s just an observation, not a complaint. I enjoyed these parts immensely.

Ms. Leon shines best in this story as a world-builder. It’s a very lush and visual and feeling-based world that I was able to get into very quickly. I liked the deep spiritual aspect to this story and the richness of the author’s unique take, it gave this story a difference that sparkles.

Sugar Roux Voodoo is a very original romance with lots of heated emotion and a vivid story world which brings together a charming, cultured but troubled hero and a strong-willed, open-hearted heroine who is willing to fight for him. Don’t miss this one.

Zader Montana is Sovereign Kind, a mountain lion infected with vampyre blood. He refuses to embrace his undead half, the part of him that prowls the night looking for the she-wolf he desires. His problem — she’s mated to the alpha of the wolf pack sharing his mountaintop.

Skye wants a taste of the cat who trails her every night. Convincing her mate to let her have a bite won’t be a big deal. The wolves are infected with the blood curse too, and they’re not finicky. Skye’s willing to be shared by both leaders as long as she gets what she wants.

The book has a pretty intense relationship dynamic that was great to see unravel as the main characters discover what they’re willing to accept in the name of love while forging a new connections and bonds.

I believe this book is part of a series and yet I had a fun time reading it and didn’t feel all that lost. I credit that to the author using her characters to explain the rules of their world at the same time they are butting heads against it. The only thing that made me scratch my head is the differences between the Reign and the Sovereign Kind and the plain old Kind, and what the big deal was. I didn’t dwell on that too much because although the characters mention it in passing, the focus really is on the exploding relationship between Skye and Zader.

Skye has been in love with her wolf mate for a long time. Leaf is an alpha and he loves her back. The interesting thing is, as much as she loves him, the heroine shares with a reader that something isn’t quite perfect about their relationship. She has no clue as to what that is. And for the life of me, I never would have suspected or imagined the truth. Zader sure stirs not only Skye’s passions, but the plot conflict too.

Speaking of conflicts, there are quite a few to choose from. There is the dog/cat mating issue, the trust dilemma, and the healing that has to happen after the revealing of the big secret. There’s also guilt to wade through and olive branches to extend. A lot of emotional angst and self searching gets explored in this short tale. In the midst of all of it, there is a sense of community, camaraderie and humorous interactions between Zader and some secondary characters that readers of the series probably have gotten to know and adore in the past. They sure were colorful and interesting

Leaf, the wolf alpha and Skye’s first mate, isn’t all that he appears. He’s demanding, forceful and secretive although the author left me in no doubt that he loves Skye. For all his tough-wolf stance, there is a vulnerability inside him that a reader can tell has been burning like acid within him. This book is cathartic for his character and eventually, I foresee a healthier future for him. And he won’t be facing it alone. I found that sweet and romantic in itself.

When Skye, Zader and Leaf do work out their biggest kinks so they could explore the physical connection, it’s not without its share of dark humor and passion. Zader and Leaf have to work out their sexual compatibility and I believe the phrase is, “Don’t cross the swords.” There is certainly an erotic element when both men are with Skye that leads me to believe that they might eventually seduce each other into a bit of light ‘sword’ play in the future. It’s up to reader interpretation and I guess I’ll have to keep reading the series to find out. Sure is a tantalizing thought.

Whether a reader is a first timer to this series like me, or one who’s been following all along, Zader’s Menagerie will satisfy the romantic inside. The pace is brisk with a lot going on to keep a reader’s attention engaged and interested. What’s not to like about alpha shifters in an emotional pickle? It certainly was a fast read for me because I found it fascinating and stimulating. Zader is one yummy guy/cat.

Appreciation. We all want it and some never get it. Then there are those who try too hard.

This is one of those stories.

I liked Matt and Jared from the moment I opened the book. The men are real. I felt their frustrations and fears as if they were my own. But even without, I got a good sense of who he was and what he was about.

This story isn’t as hot as some m/m stories and that’s not a detractor. It’s actually rather refreshing. The story focuses more on the emotions and the whys of a relationship, other than just the physicality.

This was the first time I’ve read one of Vonna Harper’s stories, and I was duly impressed. I really appreciated the way she fleshed out her characters and gave me insight in each of the trio. It made the male shifters, especially, far more interesting than the genre regularly portrays. Rather than ‘super-beings’ they were creatures, powerful and intelligent, caught between two worlds and not always sure of their survival in either. They struggled with instinct, while fighting to preserve that which made them both human as well.

Artfully told, it made for a more realistic feel to the fantasy and made their coming together about more than sex. I would have liked to see that scene further developed, especially as it was so critical to forming the bond between them all. Also, I’m just greedy. I’d invested time and emotion in the characters and simply wanted more. Considering the danger to them at the time, it did seem a little strange to have chosen then to ‘down-trou’ as it were. Yet, on the other hand, perhaps that is when the mating instinct is at its strongest-when the possibility of imminent death is near.

This was a wonderful story, with all the elements in place to develop further into a series. I’ve no idea of the author’s intentions, but in my most humble opinion, this setter and idea were far too sublime not to expand and explore possible relationships from the resulting ‘clan’. Highly recommended!

Running away to the circus may seem like an ideal escape but Jonah soon finds out it’s not all glamour and lights. In 1902, preacher’s son Jonah runs away to hopefully join the traveling carnival. With his old life ripped away Jonah seeks solace among the misfits and outcasts that make up the carnival. Little did he know that his attraction to the handsome and mysterious owner Rafe would end up changing both their lives forever.

House of Mirrors is a steamy hot historical romance set amidst the carnival backdrop. The characters fairly leap off the page with unique style and verve. The carnival setting is really the star here as both the glitz and the run down shame are shown. There have been TV shows and a plethora of books that talk about traveling carnivals back in the early 1900’s and this novel evokes those images from the beginning; the dusty trail, broken wagons, quick tricks of the eye or tongue that seem much more magical under the big top but seem almost tawdry in the light of day. The close family nature of the various members is also shown as transient and interchangeable.

While the setting was enough to catch and hold my attention, the various characters stole my heart. From the quiet gentle giant to the prickly animal trainer, the surly drunk and even the mysterious owner all of these combine to give a fully three dimensional picture. The romance between Jonah and Rafe is nice but mostly shown through the sex scenes. And there are a lot of sex scenes in the book. The development of the emotional part of the relationship is nicely shown in internal thoughts but they’re usually having sex almost all the time Rafe and Jonah are physically together in a scene. So you have to be willing to accept that their physical relationship is dynamic and hot enough to spark and emotional attachment.

The ending is a slight non-ending as it drags on a bit with an exaggerated ease to all their problems. It’s a tidy, neat ending but it’s perhaps the weakest part of the whole story. It’s too easy and takes too long to get to that point. Also it would have been nice to see more of Rafe and Jonah together outside of sex. However these are minor issues in a story filled with imagination and wonder. The eye catching setting is wonderful and the story is interesting. It may not be a story I’d read again but it’s an easy one to recommend.

When they found themselves stuck in a ditch and no way to get out, they went to the closest house for shelter but when they set eyes on the sexy beauty named Julie, both cowboys are preparing to woo and romance the girl into their arms. What started as a competition to see who could win Julies heart soon turned into a fantasy come true for Julie. Finally she does not just write about erotic romance, she lives it. What more could a gal ask for at Christmas?

Destiny Blane did a great job at turning this sexy menage story into a mystery surrounding Julie and her missing father. Her story characters were intriguing and her words flowed into a fun and entertaining story. Her love scenes sizzled and I found myself rewriting my Christmas list early. I could picture the blinding snow storm as her words brought to life a colorful scenic depiction of a possible scenario that many ladies can only fantasize about. Despite the cold snow in her book, I found myself fanning as the heat of the story simmered to a boil. I will definitely pull this story out and reread it again closer to the holidays — after all what is not to love about hot, sexy cowboys stranded at your very door-step?

Looking for a menage romance with mystery and drama thrown in? These modern day cowboys definitely know how to please a lady in this well-written fantasy. I am really looking forward to reading more of Destiny Blaine’s books in the future.
